HD Auston Moving Systems

I contacted them and spoke with a gentleman on the phone and informed him immediately that I had been informed of the Big Deal they had with Angie's List. He informed me that he did not have a Big Deal coupon with Angie's List, so I called Angie's List back to confirm this. The Angie's List representative confirmed this so I again called the gentleman back and informed him of this. We were on the phone for over 2 hours discussing the move in detail and at the end when he gave me pricing and I reminded him of the coupon he refused to honor it. He said he had no coupon and as I had no proof there was nothing he could do about it. I was very upset by this as I have a very short period of time to be moved out of my apartment and I spent the whole afternoon dealing with this gentleman. It was time I could have been packing, contacting other moving companies and also as I did not get off the phone with him the second time until 4:55 PM I was unable to get a hold of another moving company that was holding a spot for me until 5 PM. This was a very frustrating situation and it made it even more frustrating that the gentleman did not seem to be concerned at all about the inconvenience he was causing me. I do not trust this man and would not recommend them.

My house closing was delayed and delayed and my original movers (do you want their name?) completely blew me off when I finally closed and needed them. I closed on Fri 8/29 and called HD Auston after hours to see if they could squeeze me into their schedule (admittedly very last minute AND a holiday weekend). As luck would have it, they made room for me the next day! They were scheduled to show up around 9-9:30 and even showed up a little early for me! The 2 guys were very professional and did a great job. My stairs go up and then turn at a sharp angle (why?) but they maneuvered heavy dressers, mattresses, boxsprings, desks etc. to the allocated bedrooms/office upstairs. They were mindful of my pets that were behind closed doors. It was a very hot day but they were troopers! We have moved many times over the years - local and long distance. My last move bringing me here to SC was a nightmare with lots of stolen, lost, broken things and I am still heartbroken over it a year later. HD Auston restored my faith in movers! I just unpacked the last of my fragile dishes and not a thing was chipped or broken. YAY! Their hourly rates are reasonable, just be aware that they tack on 1 hour + $30.00 fuel surcharge to the total. I didn't mind because I was so grateful they got me moved in right away!

My actual move across country went horribly wrong and these guys did everything they could to make it as easy as they could for me. All my stuff was broken and messed up. They helped me see all the damage and catalog it all. They were very kind and understanding to my horrible mood. They had a very difficult walk and many stairs. They listened very well and let me direct them where to go even when I didn't know where they were going. They moved items around for me till I was happy. Very polite. Didn't take a bunch of breaks like my loaders did. Could have hustled a little more but it was a very hard move.

I have never used professional movers, so I didn't know what to expect, but my experience was wonderful. Terry, Ronny and Pablo did an excellent job. They were highly professional in all aspects of the move. They were careful with everything, making sure nothing was damaged. I have nothing but the highest praises for H D Austen Moving.

Hardy's 3 guys (John, James and Rich) arrived at 9:45 and immediately went to work evaluating the furniture and getting an idea of all the rooms. They loaded up our largest sofa first, using a black wrap around the entire sofa to protect it. This was not an extra charge, this was just included. They wrapped all major pieces of furniture with either black plastic wrap or blankets. Everything was packed very well and efficiently on the truck. The guys were very polite and quick. They finished loading our 2,500 square foot home in 4 hours, even with me adding several pieces of outdoor furniture that they were not expecting. They never complained about anything I added on, which was very nice of them. They left for Charlotte at around 2:30 and arrived before I could even get to our new house! They were preparing to unload by the time I arrived. They brought everything in the house within 3 hours and were completely done by 7pm. They were able to get several large, challenging pieces into our small doorways and small bedroom hallway. The finished time came in at exactly the estimate given to me 3 days before by Hardy! This company was awesome and I would not hesitate to hire them again. In fact, my in-laws will be using them when they move in the next few months as well.

I contacted HD Auston on short notice due to another moving company cancelling my appointment on the day scheduled. HD Auston was able to fit me into the schedule two days later during peak end of month times and I was quoted an hourly rate. A truck of appropriate size and a crew of three men arrived as scheduled. All were friendly, courteous, and professional at all times. The move took a bit longer than I would have hoped, however things were slowed by a consistent heavy rain, and one piece of difficult furniture. I felt care was taken with all belongings at all times. I would certainly consider HD Auston for any moving services again.

We had a very difficult item to move. it is an antique Mosler safe. Very large and about 3000 lbs. Mr Austin was by for the most professional of the movers that we allowed to a**** the move. His crew was so thurough that they even laid blankets on my driveway so the hydraulic lift gate would not mark the concrete. This safe means a lot to my wife as it was her late fathers. I could not have asked for a more professional, and careful move. On Time, To Estimate Polite and Professional. I will be recommending them to my clients and friends!

Don't hesitate to do business with these guys. The owner, other office staff, and the guys who actually did the moving, were all very professional, did not waste any time during the actual move, and the actual final bill was slightly less than I was quoted to begin with. 5 stars. Found them on Angies list. Thank you very much to Hardy Austin and staff! Keep up the good work! Whenever I or someone I know needs a moving co., we know who to call.

It went very well. Movers were friendly, professional, and careful. They set up furniture and bedding, asking where we wanted it placed.

The owners met with us intially and did a walk-through of our house. They asked good question, took good notes and showed obvious experience. The intial estimate was very good and the end cost was very close. Any time I had questions they were prompt in their response. Packers arrived on time and were prepared. They were very courteous and professional. The next day the crew who was to load the truck for the move arrived on time, and again were courteous and professional. While we have not finished unloading everything, we have not found any damage. They wrapped and packed items very well. It was especially interesting how they wrapped our leather couches.

Handee was very prompt with quote and followup. They squeezed me in on short notice. They arrived when they said they would. The 2 men were very professional and were careful while moving the desks. They covered the desks and the doorway with blankets so that no damage would be done while trying to fit the desks through a doorway which was barely large enough for the desks to go through. The job was completed in under an hour. I would recommend them to others.

Toni & Hard Austin were courteous & exceptional to work with! From start to finish they were very professional, and the move was smooth and exceedingly well done. Highly recommend them to anyone needing to relocate.

It went awesome. I was at Lowe's when they showed up, I was a few minutes late. 4 guys were there moving my things with a truck and the owners. They have rugs and things to protect the doors and floors. They even came the day before to get a strategy, we figured out a plan to just move stuff that 2 people could carry. They got there at 8am and at 11am they moved most all of our stuff so that we could go out of town and celebrate our anniversary. They pulled the beds apart and put them back them together. I didn't think I could afford a moving company and they completely changed my mind. They were just amazing.

My first impressions were great. The owners contacted me immediately and set up a date to move me out even though it was closer to the move out date than I'd have liked. They also dropped off moving boxes/paper for me to use to pack myself. They told me that what I didn't use would be credited back to me. They arrived on time. Three men were there and they were courteous and worked hard. Two of the men took a few smoke breaks, but they did smoke outside. The leader was not a smoker and he kept working through. At one point, the leader told me he'd run out of the pads/moving blankets that I had already purchased and that if I wanted, he would use my own blankets to "try to save [me] money". He also very clearly implied that by saving me money, it would be appreciated if his crew received commensurate tips. When I had my POD unloaded by another company, I found that the blankets and bedspreads HD Auston movers had used now had been ruined by the tape they used to wrap them around the various pieces of furniture. I photographed these items and made a formal claim. I felt that experienced movers should have known not to use tape on the blankets/bed spreads. Obviously, to replace these items would be MUCH more expensive than just purchasing more paper moving pads. Had I any idea that they items would be irreversibly damaged, I would have not followed the advice of the head mover. I feel he wanted a bigger tip, so he supposedly did me a favor. Their response has led me to give a few "fair" grades. The owner felt I had no real claim and offered me $50 (I had claimed $205) "as a measure of goodwill". I disagree.

First off, I called at very short notice to ask if they could move me that same week. Without hesitation they were able to fit me in. Tony and Hardy came out to review what I needed done and gave me an estimate. We set up a time for a few days later and their guys showed up on time and ready to work. They were courteous, professional and a pleasure to work with. They moved our furniture with no damage and set it up in our new place. I wouldn't hesitate to have Austin Moving and Storage take care of our moving needs again.

Owners were very pleasant to work with and responsive. Did walk-through themselves. Movers were efficient and conscientious. Would definitely recommend.

We didn't know the exact date of our move until the last minute. I called several movers, but most couldn't get to us for several weeks. This company worked us in that week. They showed up on time, were very professional, and got the job done! We had a difficult time moving the refrigerator. My husband was going to leave it and buy a new one. The guys said, "we'll figure it out" and they did. They took very good care of all of our belongings. They were very respectful. They wanted to make sure that they placed all of the furniture exactly where I wanted it. They said, "that's what we are here for". I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a mover. They quoted me a higher price than we actually paid, which was a pleasant ending to a stressful time.

They were awesome. They were my first choice, they are who i wanted to use. They were wonderful to deal with. They were quick, they gave us a very accurate quote. They knew their stuff. By then we had interviewed four other moving companies and they impressed me the most. I highly recommend them, wish we could have used them ourselves. I think their price was fair, it just wasn't what my husband's company wanted to pay for.

The team that came to my house on moving day was extremely professional, accommodating, and fast! These guys worked hard, no complaining....made sure that I was happy and didn't leave until they made sure everything was where I wanted it and like I wanted it. They even moved my piano with great care. It was truly the best "move" I have ever had. I would highly recommend them. They were reasonably priced, helped me every step of the way, and were fun to work with.

Hardy Auston is the owner. They were good. I actually found them on Angie's List. I liked the fact that they were honest. I questioned the cost and they said that it was right so I paid for it and then they actually came back and said that they did look at my invoice and they did over charge me and they credited me back. I was pleased with them. They seemed honest and I could trust them with my stuff. I didn't care about the stuff because I wasn't moving fine pianos or anything like that. I was happy and I felt that they put things where I instructed. They had good attitude if I wanted something moved again. They were helpful. I paid less than a $1000 and that was to move a 3 bedroom house. It was a local move. They were very punctual. I would definitely use them again.

They were great. Prompt and courteous. We were paying by the hour and the worked quickly but carefully.

Went great! I had to be out-of-town during the move so I left my girlfriend in their capable hands. They moved everything with great care and within the schedule & cost estimates. Great folks to work with.

Mr & Mrs Auston came to our apartment in order to provide an accurate estimate. They followed up with emails and detailed info by mail. On moving day, three very nice men from the company arrived on time and ready to work. They finished early so my total was actually less than the original estimate. They even let us borrow their tools to install the washer. Great experience from start to finish.

It was complicated. They were great. I really enjoyed working with them. However, I had an issue with a washing machine falling down a couple of stairs. It didn't really work. Everyone involved felt awful. It was just an accident and that kind of a thing only happens once in a blue moon. They immediately got a rented center washing machine in place for me to use while they fixed the washer and returned it to me in fantastic working condition. I probably would use them again in the future.

Mr. Auston is very professional and courteous on the phone and staff is good about letting you know what to expect. The moving guys were cheerful and punctual. However, when moving my washer/dryer, I had given the guy the clamps that hold the washer drum in place and he said he knew what to do with them, but when we got to the destination, they didnt know what happened to the clamps. I still don't know if they actually used them. My washer seems to be working ok, so maybe we got lucky. At any rate, my clamps are gone, and I don't think they were used because the guy didn't know how but didn't want to admit it. They also broke a leg off my dresser. They offered to take it back with them and have it fixed, but that it wouldnt be back to me for a few days. I asked what they needed to do to it, and they said just wood-glue it back together. I didn't let them take it since I didnt want to wait 3 days for something I could do myself if that's what they called "fixing" it. These guys are alright. The price is reasonable for the area. Just make sure you watch them clamp your washer/dryer correctly and stuff like that to make it doesnt get damaged in the trip.
