Movers did a great job. Scheduling and communication were excellent.

Some things were broken. Two were repaired by professional, some were counted as a loss, Some glass replaced, one thing was poorly repaired before being brought out and not told about to me. I saw it and they then had it repaired by a professional (not perfect but just passable if you don't look too closely). Felt like a lot of effort in pretence of trying to be careful than actually being careful.

My wife and I moved to Greenville from the Atlanta area in July 2016. We used HD Auston for moving and storage (7 months while waiting for a house to be finished). Our relator recommended this company and now we highly recommend this company for moving and storage. The day we moved was sweltering hot, but Chris and his crew got to work cheerfully about noon and set to packing and loading. I think the truck pulled out at about 5:30 ahead of schedule. Our household items went into storage for seven months and when they were returned to us in Feburary, everything was in good shape and operational. Our thanks go out to the entire crew who had lots of stairs to negotiate. And to top the experience off, the move was less expensive then estimated! We would not hesitate to call on this company again. Thank you.

On the positive side, they were punctual and their price was fair. On the bottom side, there were a few pieces of furniture that were damaged. The workers were fine.

From my first meeting with Drayton to my goodby to Chris and Shanika, and all the contacts in between, I was met with nothing other than kindness, thoughtfulness, and total professionalism. My furniture and I could not have asked for better care. The move was an emotional one for me, one which I look back on with great appreciation for HD Austen Moving. They made it easy!

They moved our old house to storage in April. The move went OK, but the lead man actually asked for a tip when it was time to settle the bill. Not very professional in my view. At this point our furniture was in HD Auston storage for 4 months. The interesting thing here is during the time of storage, every invoice we received for the cost of storage was wrong. The cost was always wrong - they tried to bill for fees already paid - and the period of storage was always wrong too. Phone calls were made to straighten it out, and the incorrect invoices were always blamed on new software. But for 4 months? The move from storage to the new house was in July. The movers beat up some of the furniture - hard to do when it padded and now the good part. There were 2 TVs in the move. One was originally packed by the movers, and one was packed by me, in the original box. The movers reassembled the one they packed, but I was doing something else and didn't see it until after they left. When I did look at it, the entire screen was cracked. And remember that this was packed/unpacked by the movers. Why would you assemble a broken TV? The second TV, a 46" TV in the original box, was nowhere to be found. The lead man said he saw it when the furniture was being loaded, but it apparently never made it on the truck. The TVs were both 6 years old, but they still worked. But broken and missing TV s required that we but 2 new TVs, for an extra $1k or so. Our homeowners insurance had a $1k deductible, so using that was out of the question, and Auston's liability is limited to $.60 per pound, so if I do file a claim, we will receive about $72.00 for the 2 sets. All in all not a very happy exercise.

We used an Angie's List coupon to get 4 hrs of work from 4 guys for $758. Hardy was very responsive beforehand, and worked with us to accommodate our timing, even though it didn't fit in their typical preferred schedule. The truck showed up right on time, and the foreman (it's been a minute, I don't remember his name) was very professional in explaining what they could/couldn't do. We had some minor misunderstandings with one of the workers, but for the most part all were very professional, very careful with our stuff, and worked hard for the entire time we needed them. In the end, we got about 80% of our stuff moved, but I think most of that was due to my underestimating the time and manpower we needed. In the end, I honestly don't think we could have gotten better service for the price we paid. Unfortunately, and again... my fault... we really needed a couple more hours to get done what I wanted to get done.

I hired HD Auston Moving System to move my apartment. They sent a man out and he took pictures of my apartment. I was going to have them pack everything up and move me however I decided to do most of the packing myself with the help of my daughter. Two weeks before I called and advised that they would only need to pack a few of the antique porcelain items, plus all the apartment furnishings and paintings. I was then told by the owner that they would still come the day prior to the moving for the full 8 hours per the estimate, even with the changes, which I questioned why. The day before the move three men came. Again it was supposed to be a full 8 hours per the estimate, but they stayed less than an hour and a half. They said at the time, the antique porcelain items, plus all the apartment furnishings and paintings, were going to be done the day of the move. The day of the move went pretty well, the men were ok. At the end of the day the one of the workers mentioned to my daughter, “Some people tip, if you do make sure you give it to us separately because one of the workers will probably keep it all for himself.” The movers left immediately after a lot of verbal double talk with the owner, not waiting for the items to be unpacked. As stuff was being unpacked, there were some items that were damage but again my daughter and I packed some of the stuff so I didn’t worry about that too much and dismissed filing a claim. We quickly realized though that there were two antique Chinese 10x10x10x tables that were a base for an antique chest missing. Which had been pointed out to the workers as they were packing. We immediately emailed the company to get insurance claim forms, we received acknowledgement that they received our message but we have not received the insurance information. I followed up with my credit card company regarding our claim. Update: To date they are still refusing to give me the name and address of the insurance company so that this full matter can be resolved. It is almost 2 and a half months later. I paid for the insurance through them but they wont provide me with the information.

The two men that provided the moving services worked so well together and with my family. Very knowledgeable and very efficient. I would highly recommend them to anybody else.

it was a very good experience. We had no issues. The movie was completed by noon .

I needed to have 7 pieces of furniture moved from my house in South Carolina to my residence in North Carolina. For quite some time I was worried about how I was going to be able manage this as I would not be able to be present for the pickup and there was some chance that the neighbor might not be able to meet the movers at the house. I found Auston Moving Systems in Greenville SC on Angie’s list. From the very beginning to the end of this process everything wasseamless. I cannot recall ever doing business with a company (not just movers, any company) where every part of the operation exceeded all expectations. I spoke with both Hardy and Toni Auston on the phone and in each case the conversation was very easy, pleasant and friendly. I was able to pick the exact date I wanted, and was given an hour window for the pickup time. They gave me a precise estimate based on the dimensions of the furniture and mileage to NC, which was what I paid on delivery to the penny. On moving day the movers Cedric and Sam called when they left Greenville so I could alert the neighbor in TR that they would be arriving within 20 minutes. They showed up just as she arrived at the house. She was so impressed with their demeanor – pleasant and friendly, just like the Austons on the phone. They packed up in almost no time (it’s an old house, with very narrow stairs and most of the furniture was on the second floor) and immediately set off for Durham. They called me when they were about twenty minutes out from my house here to let me know they would be arriving shortly. On arrival, they backed their large truck into the driveway, unloaded and set up all the furniture, again in almost no time. And then off they went, after, of course, a few conversations about basketball in NC! It is obvious that the very positive, welcoming, efficient and competent culture of the Auston’s company is shared at every level of the operation. I have already told everyone in Greenville that if they are looking for a moving company, this is it.

HD Auston packed, labeled and moved all of our belongings without mishap. The crew was professional and careful. Every item accounted for, with special attention paid to some fragile pieces. HD Auston provided all packing materials per our quote, and they packed everything. The crew was very considerate of all of my concerns and addressed every one with professionalism and courtesy. HD Auston kept in contact with me before the move, and had excellent suggestions for helping things go smoothly.

They paid such great attention to detail. Placed the boxes in appropriate rooms. Moved quickly, wonderful personalities. Enjoyed working with these guys!

We had 5-6 very good men and all went pretty well. It took most of a day to move out and most of another day to move in. It was a very expensive move after the 2 tips and moving charges. Would probably use them again but would get a better estimate on total charges.

The first trip was good. It cost $380. The distance was 30 minute commute to a storage facility. The second time we used them the commute time was 10 minutes from storage facility to the new home. The cost was almost $700. The same items they moved the first time were moved the second time, only we were charged double the amount. That is absurd and we would not recommend them to anyone.

it was a terrible experience. They put three holes in our leather sofas that we had bought a month before. The base of my reclining love seat got bent as they left it balancing on a rolling 20"dolly after I had told them it needed to be moved. The mover argued with me and said it would be fine, After they left, I tried to use the recliner and reached between the seat and the inside of the arm. There were nails popping out on the inside and it had cut the seat of the cushion. I am assuming he nails popped out when the frame was bent on the dolly as they weren't there before; as I said, it was only a month old. They also put a hole in the back of the sofa. I spoke to the owner and he said they had an upholstery company on site who would fix it. So, they picked up the love seat the next day. At that time, the plan was to repair that and fix the sofa when the upholstery repair man could get the materials. When the workers came the next day, one was very angry about having to come back and said "they don't pay me enough for this sh.." My husband called the owner and told him what that worker had said and that he was not to come back to our house. When they returned the love seat, the workers couldn't maneuver it through the front door and put another scratch on it. The workers clearly weren't skilled as they had a very difficult time lifting the couches which were heavy. The owner was to call us when the materials came in to repair both pieces. He indicated it would take a couple of weeks but we haven't heard from him in several weeks.

Fantastic. The 4 person crew did a great job, very professional, friendly and were able to complete the job in 4 hours. They solely picked up furniture pieces. They were super on the delivery end, assisting with placement of items and allowing felt pads to protect newly finished hardwood floors to be placed before placing furniture on floor. They protected to new carpet on second floor. Great 4 man crew.

Exceeded all my expectations. Movers were the perfect blend of skilled professionals, intellect, can-do attitude and brawn. While they worked quickly, they also took the time to carefully protect all of our belongings. I was worried that the coordination between the freight company delivering our bed frames to the driveway and the movers arriving to move them to our bedroom would become a problem due to the possibility of rain, but Mr. Auston stayed in touch and made sure that the frames remained in the driveway for less than a couple of hours. The movers listened to my suggestions and used good judgement in thinking through the best way to handle the logistics of the move, assembly and set up. I thought the price to be fair since we live rurally and Mr. Auston did not charge us for mieage or add a fuel surcharge. We paid the minimum for 2 men for 2 hours without the need for a truck. Three men arrived and the move was accomplished in 45 minutes. I would recommend Auston Moving for any move, large or small.

The movers arrived on time and got straight to work. I was amazed how quickly they got everything we needed into the truck. They were professional and efficient. We drove over to the new house and they unloaded just as quickly. Not only were the movers great, but the 'home office' was attentive to my concerns with the billing. They resolved my concern to my complete satisfaction. My only regret is that I didn't schedule more time with this company.

The crew of three movers arrived on time. They were all friendly, shook our hands and told us their names. They moved our furniture to two carpeted bedrooms and garage. We have very heavy, beautiful dining room furniture that we cherish and they handled it with loving care. We also had a heavy refrigerator that had to be moved over the newly refinished hardwood floors, and they got it in it's place in the kitchen without a scratch on our floors. They didn't make any scratches on the walls or trim as they moved the furniture. They were fast and efficient and listened to all our concerns. Needless to say we were very pleased with their work, and will hire them again when we need to have furniture moved.

We had heard about Auston Moving from some friends of ours and wanted to go with someone who could be trusted with our furniture and valuables. Well let me tell you, we're so happy that we called them. They were right on time, they took great care when packing, moving, and unpacking our stuff. The staff was fantastic and I'll be honest with you, it was about the easiest move I've ever done. Also the guys doing the moving were just the nicest guys.....you could tell they enjoyed working there We'll be using them again during our next move and will be recommending them to our friends and neighbors for their moves. These guys were awesome!

The company did a great job and all of the guys were super nice. They came out and looked at what I had to move took pictures and ask questions. I was getting a quote to pack and move me. The week before my move I started packing some of the things myself. I also bought the boxes I used myself. I had 90% of everything packed that wasn't breakable. The day before my move they sent out 3 guys to pack. They did a great job except I had to keep telling them several different times what not to pack. On the day of my move they sent out 4 guys and 2 trucks to move everything. Everything got moved ok and the guys did a great job. I had a few things that got broke, and my mattress got a little dirty but no big problems. They did put a few boxes in the wrong place, like a box marked garage was put in a bedroom and things like that. Overall I couldn't have ask for a better group of guys, they were efficient, friendly and even joked around with me to make the move as smooth as possible. I only moved 6 miles away. My one complaint with this company is that they sent a guy out to give me an estimate, I showed him everything, he took pictures and all. I got a written estimate on how much it was going to cost. The estimate was for $2500, needless to say I was shocked when they told me it would be $1000 more than what was quoted. And keep in mind they quoted to do everything and supply everything. I didn't get any credit for the boxes I bought or all of the things I already had packed ! I only had that much budgeted for the move. If they can't give you an accurate estimate then they need someone else to do it. So when you add everything up $3433.93 plus $120 for boxes I purchased and $ 120 to feed the guys while they were there it cost me about $3700. They guys were great but I would not use the company again because of the cost factor.
