Ms. Kimberlei was very responsive. She contacted me and worked with me to find a good time to meet to discuss the condition of my yard. She was professional and knowledgeable and very pleasant. I also very much appreciated how well she listened to what I needed, and helpd me come up with a landscaping design that would be both attractive and low maintenance. She gave me ideas and options and was able to provide me with a fairly detailed estimate on what it would cost for her company to landscape my property. She also showed me photos of landscaping jobs they have completed. I was impressed. I am really glad Angie's List emailed me a promotional coupon for this company. It was money well spent.

My experience with CPL was mixed, but not great overall. Craig responded quickly to my initial inquiry, came to my property and gave an estimate promptly. Rain interferred with the start of work and with the progress of work; this of course was in no way his fault. The big jobs were completed as promised but details were not. For example, I requested a 1-foot dirt border be created to separated the edge of the lawn from the border grass; this was by no means consistently executed. Two small sections of the lawn that were supposed to be included in the reseeding were not properly prepared, and the grass never sprouted. Craig decided to put down creeping red fescue. Much of it washed away in torrential rains after seeding, and it was not properly reseeded. Much of what did sprout died within a month after it sprouted and weeds have taken over my lawn; it looks little better than it did before I engaged CPL. On the plus side, Craig did a good job installing pavers at one side of my house and installing a log barrier to prevent washing from my neighbor's property. These two elements were a definite improvement.

This was my first experience with a landscaping company and I expected more than was delivered. My impression was that the employees worked approximately 70% of the time I was paying for at best. They took frequent breaks and spent much time on the phone. When the chainsaw broke, they left to get spare parts but returned without having repaired the saw. At the end of the day they did not add the missing time.

Overall, the work was well performed well and the results were very good. Contracted to mow the lawn this year on an as required, as requested basis. Did not score as well on maintaining lawn on a weekly basis. Was not as responsive and quality of service was not as dependable.

The crew was knowledgeable and capable. They did an excellent job and left the site looking like it had not been touched, except everything that was supposed to be gone was gone and it looked natural again. It did not look like it had just had some major work done. Great job guys.

We originally contact Mr.Leffew through Angie's List to do yard clean up for us. The crew he sent out did a FANTASTIC job! We then hired him to do our weekly lawn services.When we asked him what they did when they came out he said if we see that it needs to be done we will do it. ( I did verify that meant weeding and all that good stuff. He said yes. Weeding never got done). The very first week they did it he sent Tony. Tony is truly the best! He made our yard look great. The next week I do believe Mr.Leffew and other guy came out. Let's just say that is when everything started to go down hill. They would miss weeds that needed to be trimmed- they haven't been trimmed since Tony did it. They would miss spots. Some spots on our grass was still tall (how do you not see that?) l. I should have called and complained but I shouldn't have to tell them how to do their job. They should have noticed spots that were missed. When Tony came out he edged the sidewalk and driveway. (There was a visible line b/w where the grass ended and were the sidewalk started). When I finally had enough of the botched lawn job I emailed them to tell them to stop coming after that week either Craig or Scott (?) called. I couldn't tell who because you could barely hear them. They were absolutely rude on the phone. I said I wrote in my email what was wrong and then they waited for me to tell them what I wrote. He said if I was unhappy I should have called. Granted he was right but honestly how do you miss places? Noticeable places . I said that my sidewalk and driveway haven't been edged since Tony did it. He tried to tell me he did that. Sorry he did not. I am able to see what is done and not done. We also initially paid to have a yard analysis done. We have never recieved the report back. I guess because we ended up going with a different company to do that Craig figured we didn't want it. He never gave us an option he decided for us. Like mentioned before I told him after the week was over to stop coming apparently he took it upon himself to think I meant not to come that week because they never showed up. So once again not doing what was asked of them.

CPL Lawncare and Landscaping went above and beyond for this service. Our front and side gardens were extremely over-grown and they spent extra time and effort to remove stubborn weeds. They also edged and mulched.

I had no shrubbery in the front of my house so we were starting from scratch. I picked out shrubbery at a local nursery. Craig's crew picked up all the shrubbery and delivered it to my house. A few days later, they tilled the beds, planted the shrubbery, dressed the beds with pine straw and watered everything. I told them where to plant everything, including 10 trees and over 60 smaller plants, so I spent the day outside with the crew, getting to know them in the process. The CPL Landscaping crew was wonderful to work with. They were very eager to be sure everything was where I wanted it. They were very respectful and thoughtful and made sure they did everything just right. I was thrilled with the finished product and I'm in the process of planning another area of the yard for CPL Landscaping to do in the near future.

Initially contracted with Craig for lawn service maintenance every two weeks for my daughter's home as he lives at the mouth of her subdivision and thought it would be a convenience. Because this was an "irregular" interval (his excuse) for him, we found we were missed more often than not. When his group did arrive the work was adequate for any "mow and blow" and none of the extras were maintained. Over the period of months we had several conversations regarding this lack of attention. In an attempt to rectify things in his favor we moved to a weekly basis only to find that I am now being billed incorrectly. I cannot recommend CPL as a trusted group.

They did not offer services in my geographic area. I was reimbursed.

arrived to give quote as promised. Turned up on time to do the work and listened to what we asked for and completed in a timely fashion.

Owner came and meet with homeowner and looked around yard area and talked about what could be done in the 4hr window, quality suggestions made by the owner and he stated they would probably complete the work in the next 2 weeks. There was no phone call to confirm when they were coming, rather they just showed up. But the work was completed and homeowner was not bothered. The final finished project looked like what it was to be - a cleaned up yard!!

They did exactly what was asked and when they had promised.

We had Craig come out and give us a quote on getting some stuff done around the yard. We hired him on the spot. He was honest and we could honestly tell he loved what he did. We set up the big deal with him. Two guys came out today and they were WONDERFUL!!!!! They were great when the kids wanted to follow them around and would ask question. I could not have asked for a better crew to come out. They worked their butts off!!! They went way above expectations. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

I've used CPL for the last 2 years, and I've been VERY SATISFIED with their work! My yard had been totally ignorred for years. It was in bad shape when I bought the house, but I had no money to spend at that time. Money is still tight, but Craig and crew are working within my price range to gradually get the yard back. They have been VERY UNDERSTANDING of my situation and EXCEPTIONALLY EASY TO WORK WITH. They do renovations when I can afford it, advising me on what I could do, what I should do, and what I can live without - based on the money I have at the time. They also do ALL of my maintenance, keeping my yard looking neat and attractive. When they show up to work, they WORK HARD, PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAIL. If I'm home, they always ask if everything was done to my satisfaction and if they can do anything else. Furthermore, MY DOGS LOVE THEM! Craig always takes time to say hello to them and pet them. That means the world to me!!! I really appreciate Craig's advice, his understanding of my financial situation, and the facts that he doesn't try to pressure me into services I can't afford. My yard is a work in progress, but I have TOTAL CONFIDENCE IN CPL!

I emailed CPL Lawn Care and Landscaping through Angie's List on a Sunday. Craig Leffew called me back and came by the house that very same day. That was impressive. He suggested staging the work by taking out the trees now and then planting the grass in the fall because he felt it would do better then. He did not want to remove all of the old foliage too soon in order to avoid an erosion problem through the spring and summer. I felt that he truly had my yard's best interest at stake, instead of taking my money and doing the work now with a less than optimal result. Craig stayed in touch constantly via email (my preferred method) and was genuinely concerned that we were pleased with the work. I would wholeheartedly recommend CPL Lawn Care to anyone.

I have been a homeowner for 40 years and a professional community and property management for 10 years. I need landscaping assistance since I can no longer dabble in it as I did in the past. This is my go to guy for landscaping. They show up and get the list of what I wanted done and what was the highest priority items. They then proceed to accomplish what I have requested. I was impressed that he stopped sometimes to confirm he was meeting my expectations. There is nothing else to say in my book. Thanks for the ability to see other reviews prior to choosing a business to work with.

We wanted the whole yard redone. It came down to he was just outright expensive. He came and gave us a price for cutting some of the trees in our yard and cleaned up the entire yard and planted grass. His treeestimate was way out there compared to the other quotes we had gotten. We decided to get the tree service done by someone else which you could tell made him kind of mad. The tree guy also gave us a good quote for removing some debris. He had originally budgeted the project for $6,000. We told him that we had only budgeted $2,500 for the project. He told us he would cut the price down to $5,000 since the tree work and debris removal were already done. We decided to just let him do the front yard including removing a vine, cleaning up the front, removing the weeds, planting grass, laying stray, adding some gravel, and mulching. When we told him we just wanted half done, just the front yard, he just stopped calling. I would call him to find out when he could come out, he would just tell me that it was supposed to rain and he would need to watch the weather. I would call him when there were nice days coming up and it was the same excuse for three weeks. Then he just showed up one day. We were about to leave to go out of town that day when he showed up. After that we didn't hear from him, and again, one day, we came home and he had completely ripped the yard up and was ready to plant the grass. Meanwhile, he wouldn't even talk to me to tell me when they would be back. The last day he just kept having his partner talk to me. Then, it seemed like he was just trying to catch us when we weren't here. On Wednesday he randomly came to get the last of the payment. I went out and saw the vine was still in the yard which we had wanted them to dig up. I told him that when I told him I wanted the vine gone, I wanted it dug up and the little vines coming out of it gone.... and the branches picked up along the side... I told him no, I wanted the front yard cleaned up, that meant everything even if he wasn't planting grass. The vine was still sticking up out of the ground. He told me it was just a root sticking up and that there were a lot of rocks in the yard and it was going to be another $100 because he said I had a lot of rocks in my yard. I told him he was not going to get the money until he did what we agreed upon. They eventually got the vine dug up but something is still sticking out of the yard and there's a big pile of dirt & rocks on the yard. When he called me for the payment again, I was at work. I asked him to send his partner to retrieve the money because he was the only one who talked to me during the project and cared if I was happy. I came home, his administrative assistant was there to get the money. We paid her the money but by the time she left we had figured out that he had messed up the yard by leaving big tire marks through the middle of it coming back from the vine that we could tell where he had tried to cover it with straw and left another deep one beside the drive way that he didn't cover back up. He also put back a bunch of rocks in the yard. We could tell because they were on top of the straw Based on his professionalism and the fact that there are tire tracks and rocks in the yard, I have to give him an F. With the Angie's List deal, the price ended up being pretty good compared to the other quotes we had gotten. In the beginning, when he was trying to get us to do the whole yard, he was very responsive but not after we decided to just have the front yard done. From that point, I was the one having to call him to come out. I do not want him to come back and now or ever again and I am going to have to pay someone else to fix what he messed up.

He was happy with them; they were fine. My husband was not ecstatic, but they did more than a satisfactory job. We were not there when they did the work; all we know is that the results were good.

This was an Angie's List "Big Deal". I purchased four man-hours of Fall Landscape Clean-up for $90. The owner, Craig Leffew, called within a couple of days to set up the appointment. On the scheduled day, he came and brought another worker. They arrived on time and spent two hours working; they did an excellent job. I wish I had purchased more time with them on the Big Deal! I would absolutely hire them again.

I bought CPL's Big Deal for $99 - two men for two hours of yard work. Craig and I emailed before hand to set up the day, time and objectives. I had a window of opportunity on a particular day and they made it work. We were all very clear on what needed to be done and got to work upon, thanks to clear communication before hand and when they arrived (on time). Craig and Scott are nice, polite, very and very hard workers! The best way to describe them in one word: HELPFUL and I mean that in a TREMENDOUS way!! They did a fabulous job cleaning up years of neglect in my front and side yards. We all pitched in and packed a LOT of work into the two hours. They were able to cut down and trim back the hugest mound of trimmings and removals I have ever placed on the side of the road! Their equipment was great and far superior to anything I own making their work lightening fast and always safe. They cleaned out a massive mess under my Magnolia trees, cut down tall, tree-size privet, trimmed back two years of growth on the shrubs around my house and cut down small dead trees, unwanted volunteer trees, as well as, dead or dying branches on fruit trees. My yard looks twice as big since they helped me and a lot like it used to when I had the time to maintain it constantly! It would have taken us weeks and months to do the work they did in two hours and it would never have gotten done. Craig and Scott moved mountains in two hours. They were AWESOME! I understand they offer year-round lawn service and just about any other lawn services you would need. I would highly recommend CPL as a hard-working, pleasant, polite, and effective team. We cannot thank them enough for all the help they gave us, as well as the most satisfactory feeling when looking at my reclaimed yard!

Craig called back immediately to schedule the lawn service. Craig and another man came and did an excellent job of getting the leaves cleaned up, mowing & edging the lawn. I had requested that they also trim some of the bushes. They did not have time that day but they did come back and do the bushes on another day. I was at work both times they came. My neighbor commented on how efficient and professional they were. I would and have recommended CPL to anybody looking for a lawn professional. They did an excellent job and I will be calling them again.........Jeannette Hill

The men did everything we asked and didn't waste anytime doing it. They cleaned up the area and took all the debris to the street. We plan to call them to do landscaping in the spring.

They started the work at approximately 1 PM on Wednesday, 12/19. Including several trips to the county dump, they were able to remove the majority of leaves by 4:15 (which is when they had to take the last load of leaves to the dump before its closing time). They returned from the dump at approximately 4:45 and moved the remaining leaves to a large pile at the very back of the yard, out of the way. Due to previous scheduling commitments and the Christmas holiday, they could not return until 12/26 to finish the job; but we had so much rain during that week's time, that the leaves would have been difficult to clean up so we re-scheduled to 12/28 at 11 AM. We finally had a full day of sunshine (and wind) on the 27th, which helped to dry out the leaves. CPL arrived at approximately 10:45 and got right to work as soon as my husband put the dogs in the house and opened the gate. They removed the final load of leaves and fallen tree branches to the dump at about 1 PM, returned at about 1:30, and put the finishing touches on the clean-up. The job was completed to my total satisfaction before 2 PM. I wish I could afford to hire CPL to do the weekly yard work come springtime, because I defnitely would do so! Craig and his partner were very courteous, very professional, very punctual, and very accommodating. I would recommend them highly to anyone who needs yard cleanup work done!!

Purchased a deal for 8 man hours of yard maintenance; paid extra for compost and mulch we had them provide. Very pleased.
