Description of Work: Estimate on chimney repair and chimney liner. They were the second company to evaluate our issues with our chimney which was leaking into our attic. Mr. Blume is a very down to earth, professional person who took the time to explain issues that we needed to have done and left with the promise of getting an estimate to us for the work that needed done. When we received the estimate, it was higher than we thought it would be, but after asking around, we found the estimate was really quite reasonable. We have plans to go forward with the repairs and using them to do our repairs. Will follow up with additional information after work has been completed.

Description of Work: Mr. Blume inspected our chimney and pronounced it sound and clean. He then put on a cap and gave us ad vice on installing gas logs. He was friendly and professional. I recommend him highly.

Description of Work: First inspection in 45 years. Determined repairs needed on cap. Verified that chimney didn't need cleaning. Returned later and sealed cap with elastomer compound, sealed one flue previously used for heat exhaust, and |installed stainless steel cover over remaining flue.

Description of Work: He talked too much and did not want to go on the roof to see the chimney that had needed repairs. He did clean the fireplaces inside the house. |Never would recommend a chimney sweep who does feel capable of being on a roof to access a chimney.

Description of Work: Great guy, good experience, the only negatives I have is that he was about a hour late, but told me he had written down the time he showed up as our appointment time (no big deal) and number two, he was extremely indecisive (my wife and I had just purchased a new home and we needed to know if we could safely use the fireplace/wood burning stove for the upcoming winter) he was on one hand making me feel like it was unsafe to use, but in the same breath would tell me I would need to make some fires to first see how we liked using a wood burning stove. Confusing to say the least, however a great, respectable man. He didn't suggest I sweep the chimney (it looked clean if nothing else) and overall I liked him and would use him again, but not for an initial assessment. For repairs/sweeps, absolutely.

Description of Work: Blume came to check our chimney for the house we just bought. He was able to clean it easily since it was a gas chimney, and he also helped fix our gas logs and fireplace. He showed us how to use it properly and what to look for. He came a day earlier than scheduled because of a family issue that came up. He was very helpful and curteous the entire time. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: I called on Monday 11/23/2009. I was greeted by a stern voice mail warning that the menu had changed "again" and to please listen carefully. 1) If you are a referral, press one. 2) If you are looking for the best price, best two..... Well, I was calling for a quote so, yes, I need a price. I don't haggle over nickels and dimes but certainly I need to have some idea before someone shows up, right? When I pressed two, the cranky man recording it said that if I'm just looking for a low price, to "please call someone else." I thought about calling back and pressing option one because I guess I was referred, by Angie's List. But then I thought: I really want to talk to someone now because I'd like it done on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. But also, do I really want to hire someone who takes this tone before we even get started? So I called someone else and I ordered the chimney sweeping and chimney cap installation from them.
