The lady on the phone was really informative for the most part and very helpful. The person who came out seemed genuinely honest about how much he knew. I paid $140 for an annual contract, $35 for them to come out and about $400 or $500 for the air conditioner compressor. I didn’t do any pricing, so I don’t actually know how their pricing is. They worked with my schedule rather well. I would use them again in the future.

From the person answering the phone to the technician they were a pleasure to do business with. Fast, professional, and painless.

Each time a problem has been reported, they explain ahead of time what they will be doing and the cost of the repair. They also suggest some other features available; for example, quick water shut off (toilet) to prevent overflowing and an air filter which removes impurities from the air. Four Star also has installed some safety features for my mother when she needed extra assistance ( grab bar, adjustable shower head height, etc.). I have always been pleased with the servicemen as they are professional, neat, and friendly. The receptionist is also very pleasant and accomodating.

Dave got under the sink, then turned on the water faucet; no leak. Ran the dishwasher, no leak. Ran the disposal, LEAK. He said the inside seal was worn, and said a new disposal was in my future. I decided to do the replacement myself and save a few extra bucks. I had a few problems with the installation the next day so I called Four Star back and asked to speak to Dave; he came out to the house that same day and a few minutes later, I understood why 30 years in the business was why I will call Four Star whenever I need a plumber in the future. The receptionist, and Dave were very nice to speak to and in explaining Four Star services. The price is very good and the service is excellent. I waited a week to write this report because I figure if I had any follow up problems, they'd show up by now. NO PROBLEMS. Four Star really lives up to their name.

The new unit was just as noisy as the original. If it were an improvement I would not have been disappointed, even though I thought the cost was high. My mistake was NOT to have complained to the Service after the job was done.

The original contractor got sick (he was older), and he needed to be off the job. I handled the remainder of the work myself and dealt with the tradesmen myself. This transfer caused some delays, and Four Star personnel lost patience quickly and very obviously. This experience was years ago, but the "bad taste left in my mouth" lingers enough to recount what I can. The largest problem with their work that I remember was that for each visit they needed to make, I was sent different people. Each crew needed to have everything explained rather than already having the pre-existing knowledge of the job that comes from being a committed part of it. This caused a highly wasteful use of time for everyone involved. One day I asked that I be sent the same people as were working there that day, and the company agreed, but I never saw the same crew twice. As the bathroom neared completion, Four Star was called to fix two problems with the shower plumbing that had not been noticed before the tile work had begun. These repairs involved tiles that needed to be removed and replaced on two separate occasions. One occasion did not result in extra charges from the tile contractor, the second occasion did require an additional trip by the tile people, for which Four Star agreed to pay. There were at least six phone calls and a delay of multiple weeks before the payment was issued to the tile workers as agreed. I was not charged for either of these repair calls, as the problems were clearly the result of shoddy work. At the end of the job, I was given a bill for an amount $700 greater than the agreed amount. When I questioned this, the office was called and they apologized for the mistake of charging me $700 more than I owed them, and reported that the new total I owed them was only in excess of our agreed amount by $400. I asked them what the charges were for. They told me. I asked a few more questions, pointed out a few more facts and we arrived the correct additional amount I owed, $125. The mistakes that were made to come to the wrong price numbers did not seem reasonable to me, I have a hard time believing these were honestly mistaken overcharges.

It was excellent and they did very well. They were very communicative as far as giving us a time as to when they were going to be out and also confirming if the work was done. All the work was done quickly and very professionally without a lot of fuss. They billed me directly without any additional hassle.

Was an emergency, they overcharged me by $400 after I had time to call around. They are VERY expensive.

The plumber replaced both flappers and adjusted the ball float. A second visit was required because it didn't fix the problem in the one bathroom. An adjustment was needed to complete the work. The only compliant I have is the cost of the work, $95 for two flappers was extremely expensive. The company should also look to provide discounts for repeat customers. Just for the record this company may claim they dont show me as a customer. I am house sitting for the owner and a member of Angie's list.

I have continued my maintenance agreement with Four Star for the past few years. The service personnel are all very knowledgeable and professional. Above all, this company is honest. Yesterday, my toilet tank was leaking. They would have come the same day, but I had appointments all afternoon. He came and replaced the tank the next day. As a courtesy, he also adjusted and tightened the seat.

The old noisy disposal was supposed to be replaced with a quieter unit. The new one was as noisy as the old one. The inspection related to the service agreement resulted in an outrageously expensive list of unnecessary proposed repairs. The waste pipe replacement charge was indicative of the overcharges. I never entertained the possibility of using Four Star again.

Danny replaced facet with one I purchased.....was very professional on time and pleasant. Made 3 trips in all...one to assess the problem, one to replace the facet, and another to blow out sendiment. Only suggestion would be in the future warn the client that sendiment may build up and require an additional visit.

The Four Star plumbing representative arrived and within 15 minutes unplugged the drain and put the pipes back together; to include the garbage disposal. He was very professional, helpful and polite. He'd called ahead to let us know he was on his way and performed the work efficiently. He definitely knew what he was doing. He also gave us information to help us keep it unplugged in the future. We were very pleased with the service and the price charged for the service.

The installers were prompt, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They even vacuumed the floor without my asking! They were careful and professional, answered all my questions and were very patient in explaining the new unit and the workings of the new thermostat. This company always makes followup calls to make sure the customer is happy with the work performed. What else can I say about a firm that answers the phone, "Four Star--how can I make you smile today?"
