We are extremely pleased with the work Johnny did. His recommendation for matching the new hardwood to the existing was spot on. The quality of his work is outstanding; the floors are beautiful. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional, skilled, competent craftsman. We would recommend Johnny to anyone needing work on their floors.

Johnny was very professional, easy to work with and passionate about floors...just what you want in someone refinishing your floors. The floors looked great considering thier orginal condition, neglect and the pet stains. I wish there had been some way to eliminate the damage but I think he did the best he could under the circumstances. He did a good job cleaning up the dust and was very prompt, polite, friendly and on time with his work, which was critical since we were on a short timeline. I really appreciate his ability to work with us.The house did not smell due to the low VOC system which was great since we moved in days after he finished the floors. Thanks!

The majority of the job looks excellent, but there are sloppy white paint marks SEALED UNDER THE FINISH! I had specifically requested that Johnny remove the white paint which had been slopped by the previous owner onto the hardwood at the edges and corners of the floor. Johnny did agree to remove the paint, but did not remove all of it before sealing the floor! Unfortunately, the edges of the floor still have a number of streaks and spots of white paint which he did not clean off before sealing the floor! This is noticeable and still looks very sloppy (see attached photos and note that the paint spots and streaks are now SEALED IN) . Even worse, because Johnny sealed in the sloppy paint flecks and streaks, we now do not have the opportunity to remove them without incurring greater cost. In addition, I had notified Johnny of a 8" X 3" area where the seal had pooled and was noticeable, near the front door. Johnny promised to sand and reseal this section awhile ago but has never done so. My husband went to review the flooring job, at which time Johnny gave him a brown Sharpie marker, and instructed my husband on how to mark the remaining white paint spots to camouflage them. There are unfortunately dozens of white paint spots remaining all over the house, and many are too large to conceal with a marker. My husband is 69, has pain from arthritis, and has a knee replacement . He is in no shape to kneel down and use a sharpie marker on all of the remaining spots , which should have been removed by Johnny in the first place. After reviewing the floor job myself, I called Johnny to express our dissatisfaction and to request that he at least return to the job to camouflage the remaining white marks with the marker himself. Johnny did quite a bit of ducking and dodging responsibility, claiming that he had already spent three hours trying to remove paint from the floor ( which he had agreed to do), and claiming that his contract stated there would be " slight imperfections" remaining ( but of course, those are referring to the wood itself, and not paint on the surface.) Johnny then claimed that I must've had another painter there who must've been creating new sloppy paint spots. But I pointed out that all of the remaining spots are sealed under the finish , so they are clearly remaining from the job that he did. When I told him I felt the fairest solution was for him to camouflage all of the remaining white marks, he said, "That's WAY too big of a job, because there are lots of those marks left." (Exactly). He then told me that he was booked through January 13, and was very busy, and that none of his jobs were in my area (even though he lives in my area, only a few miles away.) Because of the sloppy look on the edges of my floor , and because of Johnny's unwillingness to resolve the problem to our satisfaction, I would not use him again, nor would I recommend him to others.

Johnny did an excellent job of repairing the floor in the corner of our dining room where we had some water damage. He was always ontime, very punctual, a very nice young man. The work he did was very good; great job of matching the color of the new hardwoods. I would highly recommend him if you have hardwood work to be done.

Johnny and his crew showed up on the start date of 15 September 2013 on time and ready to go to work. I had rented a PODS for a month (also a good company) and had cleared out the house prior to the start date. We moved in with the mom-in-law for the 12 days that Johnny said he needed to complete the job. Every other day I would stop by the house in the evening to check out the progress and was amazed how fast Johnny was getting it done. He called me up about everyday to inform me how it was going. The finish that he uses is a low shine satin finish which once all five coats were laid down was absolutely beautiful. Johnny also sanded and refinished the other 500 sq. ft. that was laid own in 2008 by another contractor. The cupping in that area was so bad that Johnny said he had to take the equivalent to two sanding's off in order to get it even again. That area too was beautiful after it was completed. Johnny finished the job in 8 days instead of the twelve he first quoted. I can't say enough about Johnny and his crew. They were very professional, honest, upfront about the whole process, and always pleasant. I would use him again and recommend that you do too.

Johnny was extremely professional. He was very knowledgable at his job. Prior to the refinish, our floors were in horrible condition but after the refinish they are gorgeous. We are very satisfied and could not have gotten a better product in the end!

After meeting with many remodelers, we chose not to retore the floors and cancelled our appointment with Homewood Hardwoods.

He showed up as scheduled and did the work on schedule. It has been done for one month now and looks great. There are a couple of small areas that came out a little uneven in terms of color, but not significant. Time will tell how well it wears, and that is crucial. There was little to clean up afterward, just some light dust coating on some surfaces. We had removed all furniture, pictures, etc. from the rooms (hired a mover for the heavy lifting). Before putting the furniture back, I put new glides and felt pads on all the chairs and tables. I even put "socks" on our heavy bar stools (look up Furniture Sox; a great product and very nice online merchant).

He did a great job. He is very into what he does, really seemed to enjoy identifying and matching the existing wood floors. He showed up when he said and the quality of the work was excellent. I don't know if his price was high or not but it was worth it..

Johnny matched the floor stain to the stairs perfectly. The stairs did not have to be refinished, but the floor color had to match to ensure continuity to the second floor. He was ahead of schedule from start to finish. He does an amazing job. He also installed hardwood floors in our previous house. When we had water damage in our current home, we didn't have to think twice about who to call! He is a perfectionist, a true artist.

Johnny was awesome to work with! He was very knowledgeable and showed a genuine concern for helping us make this situation right with our customer as customer service has always been our number one goal. He kept me up-to-date throughout the whole process and wasn't satisfied until the floors were perfect which involve more trips than originally planned. He will definitely be our go-to guy for anything hardwood floor related.

Over the past 15 years my floors have had to been sanded three times because of problems associated with poor quality work. I had some water damage this fourth time and Johnny did an outstanding job. He is one of the most honest and best floor men out there. He takes a lot of pride in his work, starts and finishes the job on time and makes sure you are completely satisfied. I wish I had found him the first time I did my floors as I would of saved a lot of money and frustration.

Johnny is an excellent craftsman and takes pride in his work, which is a rare finding these days! You know someone is AWESOME if you not only recommend them but use them TWICE yourself. That is exactly what we did. Johnny refinished the hardwood floors in our previous home, and we were extremely happy with the work. When we moved to our new home, the floors needed to be refinished badly. They were very scratched, dull looking and obviously hadn't been cared for properly. We called Johnny to refinished the floors and once again, he did an outstanding job! The floors are flawless and look BRAND new! The stairway and the landing was especially difficult, and must have required much tedious labor to bring it to its' former glory, but he managed to do it! If you need your floors refinished, Johnny is the guy to call! We highly recommend him! !

Everything went perfect. Johnny Homewood is a professional and an artist. He informed us of each step in the operation and performed all steps in a timely and professional manner. He did a few extras that were not in his original estimate at no additional charge. Overall his work was outstanding. We love how our floor looks. I would give him an excellent rating and would have no reservations recommending him to others.

From the beginning with an honest estimate to the completion of our large project, Johnny Homewood was professional, a creative problem solver, punctual and a real artist with hardwood. He seemed to care deeply about the quality of his work and it showed in everything he did for us.

It went great!! Johnny removed the tiles that had been improperly installed and installed natural red oak hardwood floors to go in the large family room to go with the flooring the in the hallway and dining room. He refinished the floors in the hallway/dining room. He put on extra finish, given we have dogs, one of whom has accidents sometimes on the floor. He coordinated his work with the person doing some new tiling, whom he recommended to us. Johnny's work is BEAUTIFUL. He is very professional. He began his work on Monday morning, work late some evenings to get it done by the weekend, so that when I returned home the following Wed., we could put our furniture back into the house. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats, and my husband stayed home with them during Johnny's work, keeping them all off the floors Johnny was working on. He was very easy to work with, cooperative. We are very pleased with his work, recommend him highly.

The experience was a pleasure from the initial contact. Johnny went out of his way to meet our schedule and give us tips on another refinishing project in the house. Johnny recommended and installed a colorful grade of wood which goes very well with the rest of the decor. In the end everything turned out better than we had hoped for. Both the living room floor and the stairs look great.

Johnny was very responsive and professional from the first phone call. He explained everything he was going to do and quoted a fair price. The results were great and was able to complete the job exactly as we expected.

Our floors look absolutely spectacular -- Johnny did amazing work and it truly transforms the house. He takes pride in his work and the end results definitely show it. In addition, Johnny was efficient, responsive, and punctual. The floors presented a few unexpected challenges when they were sanded down, but there were no surprises during the process, which we really appreciated. Everything went exactly how Johnny said it would in his original proposal. Johnny told us, for example, that the job would take 7-9 days and we did the final walkthrough with him on day 7. All steps in the process and information Johnny gave us were that accurate. When the work was finished, Johnny made absolutely sure we were satisfied and that everything turned out as expected. We are extremely happy with the work Johnny did, would definitely use him again, and would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

Johnny came to our home to give us his recommendation to refinish the hardwood flooring in our newly purchased home. All of the floors in the house need to be refinished and we have elected to finish off the entire house with wood as well. Johnny felt that he could match up the wood currently in the home without difficulty. He was very easy to deal with, punctual with arriving to our home and then sending us a written estimate. He is a true professional. I used him before in my other house, so I know he is skilled and knowledgable in his craft. We are planning to use him for this project as well. This is the third time we have procured his services, and we do so without any doubt that the job will be done flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Johnny is an excellent craftsman. He is always punctual and professional. He knows exactly what to do to make the wood floors look their very best. I had housekeepers who mistakenly put down floor wax and a refreshner at the same time. This resulted in a full waxy white film all of the floors! We called the company that made the products used on the floor and we were told that they were not to be combined and the only way to fix them was to refinish the floors. Johnny was able to do what is a called a screening and then putting finish on the floors, which removed the filmy coating. They look fabulous! And it saved us a great deal of money. We have a new house now, and we will definitely be using Homewood Hardwoods in this house as well.

There are still true craftsmen who know how to work with wood~AND Johnny is one of them! He was able to come in and repair our wood floors that was improperly installed by another "professional". We were amazed at how he was able to match up the wood perfectly; you couldn't even notice what previously had been a very noticeable flaw! We have more floors to be done and we will definitely be using Johnny. He did an apprenticeship with a wood craftsman to learn how to work with wood, plus he has years of experience too. You will not go wrong using Homewood Hardwoods! A+

We are very satisfied with our interaction with Johnny from start to finish. His workmanship is excellent. I don't think there is anyone in the Columbia area that has the expertise and craftsmanship displayed by Johnny. We would definitley use him again.
