Everyone wants to get the best possible bang for their buck, you don't really know how things are going to work out until you take the plunge. My wife and I had a really good feeling about Johnny and we were right, besides being good at what he does he is a fun guy to have in your home, very personable and responsible very professional. The floors look amazing, Johnny matched the color to the existing wood floors perfectly. I highly recommend Homewood Hardwoods .

This is absolutely the BEST contractor I have ever used for anything! Did exactly what he said, when he said he would do it. He is a true "craftsman" in a pool with many "hacks". I cannot imagine how it could have turned out any better. Absolutely beautiful work! On top of it all, Johnny is a fabulous human being... I would much rather he come and visit for a few days than some of my relatives!

Johnny and his crew arrived on-time as promised and completed the work with alacrity. As he planned, they finished with the old floor removal and installation of the new subflooring on the first day; the second day, they completed installation of the flooring and installed transitions at the thresholds to the other rooms. The room looks awesome and I'm very impressed with the transitions Johnny made from scrap pieces of the flooring - great touch! I've already recommended Johnny to friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Johnny met with us same day we called him and sent us an estimate less than 48 hours later. Johnny worked around our schedule, started job the date he promised and finished one day earlier than promised. Johnny and Kahn are a pleasure to work with ... thanks to them we have gorgeous hardwood floors in our home. We shopped around and talked to all the top rated companies and not only was Johnny the most pleasant professional to work with but he was also the best price for the high quality work he offers. I have not seen a more dedicated artisan who love to create spectacular floors.

The work done by Johnny and his assistant Kam was nothing short of outstanding. This is the second time I have used his services. The first was putting down almost 1,000 SF of prefinished hardwood in the main area of the house. This time it was the hallway and the landing at the bottom of the FROG. His work is outstanding and his attention to detail is second to none. He is very easy to work with and will listen to any concerns or ideas you have in reference to your project. His cost is a little higher than others, but you get what you pay for and in this case you are getting the best. Our initial plan was to do the main area of the house and the hallway and leaving carper in the 3 bedrooms, but after seeing the hallway we are now looking at doing the hardwood in all 3 bedrooms. Any yes Johnny will get the call. I am and have always been very skeptical about hiring people to do work in my house, Johnny came on a recommendation from a friend and I can tell you that hiring him to do our floors was one of the best moves we have made. This project went smoothly from the beginning to the beautiful end. Johnny Homewod was a pleasure to work with. He came when he said he would and worked all day, every day until the job was finished. He did everything agreed on and went the extra mile to fit and finish everything into the existing tile and doorways beautifully. He cleaned up and left everything neat. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing wood floors.

I found Homewood Hardwoods on Angie's one evening and called the number thinking I was leaving a message that would be picked up the next business day. Within moments Johnny returned my call, and he was actually able to meet me for a walkthrough that evening. He explained a couple of options that were available for my floors and answered any and every question I asked about each option. In a short time he sent me a quote. The Swedish finish is more expensive than the polyurethane that so many others use, but it's a top shelf finish, 5 coats are applied as opposed to 3 which makes it more durable, so I decided to go with it. I needed to have the work completed by a specific date but not start until after a specific date, and Johnny was very accommodating. The job started and finished precisely when I needed it to. The finished result exceeded by expectations and is worth every penny. My floors are gorgeous. I had no idea they could look so good. The entire time Johnny was in regular contact with me and even sent photos of the progress to me. I highly recommend Homewood Hardwoods to anyone who has hardwoods that need some TLC.

I found Homewood Hardwoods (Johnny) on Angie's List and sent an inquiry one evening. Almost immediately I got a response and was able to set up an appointment for Johnny to assess my floor and provide an estimate. As promised, he provided the proposal that evening and we agreed on a day to start the work. Johnny arrived when he said he would and worked by himself for three very long days and got the floor finished. Throughout the process Johnny asked about the details of the stain color, the shoe moldings etc. He clearly when out of his way to make sure I got what I wanted. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the job, plus Johnny was a pleasure to work with and a really nice guy. I would gladly recommend him to anyone needing to have the floors redone. He is a craftsman that obviously takes pride in the work he does.

About 7 months ago I called some folks to replace some carpet on my stairs and hallway leading to some bedrooms with hardwood floor. Along with the hardwood installation they were also replacing some stairs on my porch. I was already nervous about calling anyone to do any work for me due to bad past experiences and rightly so. They were a disaster! I figured I would cut my losses and I pulled them off the job before they started the finishing on the floor. I was lucky enough to find Johnny, of Homewood Hardwoods. He took the time to answer all my questions. He was professional in every meaning of the word. The most impressive quality that I saw was how you could just tell that the man loves what he does and takes pride in his work. The work that he did required that my family and I not be in the home. He indicated that at the most the work would take 3 days. He finished in 2!! When I came home for the first time I was able to only see the stairs as the finish was still drying but when I finally got to see the hallway I was blown away. My experience with the company was top notch and I would certainly recommend him to anyone that is looking for honesty and superb craftsmanship. For 7 months when I looked at that floor, home didn't feel like home. Thank you so much Johnny of Homewood Hardwood for giving me back my home.

Johnny Homewood was very professional, responsive, and provided us with the options, from completely refinishing the existing floors to installing new flooring to simply adding a new finish to the floors, which was the option we chose. He gave the floors a light sanding and used a low VOC epoxy product, which left very little odor. He did an excellent job, and the floors look great.

We are so grateful that we found Johnny Homewood on Angie's List. After reading several reviews, we sent him an e-mail requesting an estimate on our hardwood floors. He immediately called us back, made an appointment to look at our floors and then did the most amazing job. Our floors are beautiful!! It is obvious he takes great pride in his work. He is more of an artist, and his work is more than a job, it is his passion. He is honest, dependable and was a joy to have in our home. Our floors had been refinished several years ago, they were discolored, rough and poorly done. We don't remember who did them last time but we were told they had to be a light color which we never liked. To make things worse, the sun reacted with the previous finish to create an orange tint and we had distinct lines where the rugs were. We had an idea of the color we wanted but no actual samples on the red oak. Johnny looked at our furniture and listened to what we were saying. He pointed to a clock in our living room and we agreed that it was the color we were after. He mixed the stain - never uses premixed colors. It came out perfect. We had no idea what was possible. Our floors are now beautiful! We never imagined that they could look so good. It is hard to describe just how happy we are and what a wonderful experience this has been. Thank you Johnny for renewing our faith in contractors. We are so used to people not doing what they say they will do, not being dependable and doing sub par work.

Johnny was prompt and professional throughout the entire process, from quote to completion. We are military and we scheduled the work to be done once we moved out, so Johnny provided pictures and detailed emails to keep us informed while the work was being done. He started on time and finished on time, which was critical as we had renters scheduled to move in upon completion. We were able to make the trip back to the house to see the finished product and the floors looked great! We would highly recommend Johnny because of his competitive pricing and customer service. We couldn't be happier!

Johnny and his team were nothing short of incredible. Never in my life of home ownership have I ever dealt with a vendor, contractor, or craftsman that went so far above and beyond to help make our home perfect. We were initially a bit concerned with the entire process of doing our floors because we had existing hardwoods in half of the bottom floor and were looking to add new floors to the remainder of the two-story house. It was a big project and we were sure that there would be some obvious differences in the new floor versus the older refinished floor. Boy, were we wrong and wonderfully surprised! Johnny made our floor look like a million bucks! The old floors were sanded down and refinished (in a lighter shade than the originals) and matched the newly installed and stained oaks absolutely perfectly! We were quite literally unable to tell the difference - and keep in mind, these are floors that were installed easily 10-15 years apart from one another. Simply amazing. To say that Johnny is a skilled craftsman is an understatement. He took floors that were in less-than-desirable shape and made them sparkle. you can tell by his passion and attention to detail that he cares about his work and the end result - and that shows here at our home. I?m not sure I could say the same thing about some of the other vendors we had out to the house. His estimate was by far the most thorough and detailed and he did exactly what he said he?d do, when he said he?d do it. He also put up with the additional curveball of having to work around some painters that were also in the house on a separate project and his team was incredibly flexible in doing so. After getting at least 5 or 6 estimates for this massive project, scouring Angie?s List reviews, and weighing all our options; going with Homewood Hardwoods was the obvious choice. His prices were competitive and his reputation speaks for itself. After seeing the completed work, there?s no doubt in my mind that we made the right decision and would do so again in a heartbeat. If you?re thinking about taking the time, money, resources, and effort to undertake such a vital home improvement project; it would certainly behoove you to give Johnny Homewood a call. Had to take over from another contractor who did live up to his bargain. He had to make sure subflooring had been installed properly by former contractor. After that was all setlled hereplaced all the wood in kitchen and storage area of kitchen. Stained wood to match two other adjoining rooms that touched at the doors. Everything was done beautifully and professionally. Would definitely recommend his services. Even assisted when we ran into issues with large refrigerator that had to be moved.

We gutted and expanded our kitchen by taking down walls to the in the above areas. This was not a easy fix as the walls were in different areas and not in alignment. One cannot tell where the wood was replaced. Johnny sanded and refinished all the hardwood in the above areas. The floors look beautiful. I would not hesitate to use him again. Johnny has done a great job and is a true professional. My floors look wonderful and have gotten many compliments on them. I would not hesitate to use him again

Johnny was prompt and responsive to all communications. He provided a detailed written estimate of the work and the estimated price of the project. He was easy to work with, and very professional. The flooring looks absolutely beautiful--we have already had unsolicited compliments on the flooring from a roofer we are hiring to fix our exterior. Johnny was able to minimize a lot of the imperfections that were in the wood, and really made the floor look amazing. The only drawback was that some of the staining of the stairs was uneven--not super noticeable, but it is there. Also, some of the paint came off when he removed the moldings, so now we will need to repaint some areas to fix the imperfections. Overall, though, he did an excellent job, and we will plan to hire him again to install our hardwoods upstairs.

This was the most enjoyable transaction I have ever been involved in. Johnny was knowledgable about the process and very prompt returning my calls. He was able to do the job with very little lead time and finished the job in less time than was quoted. We just bought a house built in 1976 and the floors had never been redone. It was a rental for a period of time and as such the tennants did not take care of the floors. There were numerous deep long scratches throughout the house as well as multple pet stains. At first I thought the floors were unsalvagable, but Johnny assurred me they would turn out fine. He guided us on the stain color that would work the best with the current condition of the floor. The floors turned out way better than we ever expected. Almost all of the deep scratches completely disappeared and those that remained are much less noticable. All but one of the pet stains were removed. I called Johnny after the job was complete as a portion of a room didn't have the same flawless shine as the rest of the house, and he informed me that it was due to a pet stain that had been there for a long time. He gave me options for what could be done. It isn't very noticable except compaired with the rest of the quality of the new floors. We will be installing hardwoods in our den in the future and as long as Johnny is still around, he will definately be doing it. Great job, highly recommended and WILL do business with him again in the future.

Johnny was very quick to respond to my call. Very flexible and was competitive with his pricing. I had requested an ebony finish which he had included in the wriiten quote. On the day the work was supposed to begin, he informed my husband that I did not mention the ebony color and was somewhat confused as to what we had agreed upon. After establishing that the ebony color was desired he proceeded to work quickly and was done with the job within days. I proceeded to pay and then check out the work and was very unhappy with his work. The stain was applied in a very sloppy manner, so much so that friends looked at the work and thought we had done it ourselves. I had brought this to Johnny's attention and he was unwilling to fix it and now I am stuck with a floor that we paid good money for that looks awful! I am not one to complain, but this is ridiculous! I think he may do good work with clear coats or lighter stains but there was definitly an unwillingness to do the ebony and now I know why. I had used Angis's list prior to employing Johnny and am very disappointed.

He's great. He responded to my phone call quickly and came to give me an estimate almost immediately. He was able to schedule my work between two other larger jobs so it was all done within a week. He made the stairs beautiful. He did a great job.
