I think the cost is reasonable. We have used them for about a year. The service is going well. They do a good job of scheduling their visits, and seem to take time in checking things out thoroughly.

Very well. When we had snow and ice, the worst possible time, they came out and completed the replacement quickly and efficiently. The entire staff, from the office staff to serviceman, was very professional. They were great sports and we recommend them to others.

BEWARE the service visit fees!! I called the company to request an evaluation and quote on improving the air flow in our new house, and for adding a 5" filter system that requires changing only once per year. We chose this providers because they are an authorized dealer/service facility for out Goodman brand A/C units, and because of the high ratings here at Angie's List. I was told the diagnostic fee would be $99. The visit was scheduled for only two days after the call and that was acceptable as there is no emergency to address this issue. The technician was knowledgeable and explained the mechanics behind his recommendations. The initial viewing of the current system took about 15 minutes. He suggested we sit down and go through the recommendations all together. He chatted with my husband and talked about a variety of A/C related items. The price quote was several THOUSAND dollars higher than another company's bid, with the quality of the materials and workmanship given as the reason. Then he went to his truck for another 10 minutes to write up the invoice for the service call. I was expecting a $99 invoice, but was told that the charge would be $159! Seems the $99 was for only the first 30 minutes, and there was an additional fee for each 20 minute increment thereafter!! Neither the technician, nor the scheduler informed us of that policy - and he took his sweet time. In all, he was at our house an hour and 10 minutes. I feel taken advantage of, and 2nd Wind will NOT be getting my business ever!

The initial guys who came to do the job did a poor job. Cut a jagged hole in the middle of the floor. Quite an eye sore and I was very unhappy. When Carrol came to check I told him how unhappy I was and he agreed it was not up to 2nd Wind standards. He set up a company to come and fix the wood floor and then he and another tech came to reposition the vent. 2nd Wind paid for the repair of the floor and it is perfect now! They definitely lived up to their good name!!

We have had good experiences with them. They did the work on time and they were careful about the house. They came when they said they were. I don't know anything they can do to improve; they did fine work for us. We have a continuing thing with them and they have done an awful lot of work for us.

Will is the technician who installed the gas pack and new duct work in 2006. He has very good attention to detail and thoroughly checks the unit twice each year. I have been extremely happy with the work from 2nd Wind and I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

They were great. I have a contract with them. They provide great service. They can cost a little bit more than the others but they're an A.

Representative was prompt. Cost was exactly as quoted. Pleased with work done.

We have used them for about 20 years, because we replaced our furnace and air conditioner. They have ruined 2 ceilings, and their insurance had to have repaired. They put the air conditioners in the attic, and they didn't put the drain tube, and the next day it started leaking through the roof, and this happened twice. We use them all the time. They come out every 6 months. The only thing is that the workers that come out are partly on commission, and it would have made a difference to me, if I had known this before. They didn't break anything this time round. They seem to have a lot of turn over in their workers.Every time we had to replace the unit, we couldn't shop around as they had very few choices. Their price is okay. They have been fairly responsive, and they have been pretty good about coming out when there is a problem. They are usually on time, but now always, but I realize these things happen. Some of these guys are chatty, and they tour around the house looking at your stuff, which I don't like. Most of the workers have been okay, and others have been too comfortable. We will continue using them until we sell our house.

They are perfect in everything and we have had them for years. They do everything that they say that they would do. They are convenient and pleasant. They work with you and they actually installed both of our units in the house when we needed new ones. They are pretty good and they charge us for the yearly maintenance.

Didn't go very well. Home wasn't heating well and unit had ice/frost on it. 2nd wind came on time and was professional. Part was replaced and freeon added. I was offered a maintenance plan and was told I might need a new unit. There was an additional charge for them to check fort a leak (approx. $195) and I declined. Started experiencing same problem...placed another call in Jan. Tech came, charged to troubleshoot problem and added more freeon. Tech said I had a leak and it was going to "cost" to have problem fixed. He said another tech would come out for a second opinion when it was determined it would be expensive to repair. After the second visit, I was charged an additional $285.00. When 3rd tech came, he determined I had a leak, and said it would be expensive to repair. He came on Friday evening, said they would get back with me for an estimate. So far, haven't gotten estimate. I paid a total of $739 and same problem exists. I won't use 2nd Wind again and won't refer anyone else to use them either.

the service technician was very knowledgeable. He was prompt and courteous. I recently purchased an older home, and had a couple of issues that I needed evaluated. He recommended redoing my ductwork due to uneven heating and air. He was not pushy, recommended a free estimate which I will obtain this spring.

A little more expensive than others, but very knowledgeable and professional. I already knew I needed some very expensive repairs on both of my units as they both had leaking coils. This had been told to me by 2 other companies, plus a friend who has certifications in AC repair. Rather than throw good money after bad, I opted to replace both units, which would give me new warranties as well on the entire systems. They sent 2 crews out on a Saturday (they have the same rate regardless of which day of the week it is) and got the job done ahead of the time they estimated. They left absolutely no mess behind. Several days later, they sent a senior technician, the one I worked with prior to the installation, to inspect the work of the installers. Most of the work was spot on, but they had forgotten to set up the heating side. I actually consider this a positive in that they cared enough to inspect their own crews and make certain everything was perfect. If they hadn't, I wouldn't have know until I needed to use the heat. A county inspector was required to inspect their work as well and gave the work glowing reviews. He stated that 2nd Wind always installs more safety items than are required per standard (for instance less likely to have water leaks in the house because of superior drainage on the attic portions). I've been using both the cooling and heating for several months and have had absolutely no problems. I plan to continue using them for my seasonal maintenance even past the warranties. I'm glad I paid more instead of going with a bargain basement company that might have done shoddy work. When it comes to things like environmental comfort in my home, I'm willing to pay more to have peace of mind. As they say, "You get what you pay for".

I HAVE ONLY HAD THE INITIAL VISIT AND WAS VERY PLEASED. THE GENTLEMAN THAT CAME WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, RESPONDED TO MY QUESTIONS. SO FAR I AM VERY HAPPY.

I pay an annual fee for 2 maintenance visits a year - one for the cold weather season and one for the warm. Will is our representative, though others have come out to the house when he was unavailable. 2nd Wind has been our HVAC company for well over 10 years. They have replaced both of our a/c units (one upstairs and one down), have installed new duct work, and have responded to several emergencies (heat not working, thermostat not functioning, cracked drip pan, broken attic fan). When I've had an emergency, they are always available 24/7, and respond very quickly. Every person in the office and those who come to my home have all been very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable with them in my house and know they will solve my problems. Will has gone the extra mile on several occasions to make sure there is a solution found to a problem I was having. | |I highly recommend 2nd Wind to anyone who needs air conditioning and heating installation, service, and maintenance.

My original experience went okay. I know they are highly recommend among our community, but I was not completely satisfied with the service. They did not really get enough details initially regarding the work. Once they did everything went smoothly and I was pleased with the outcome of the service. The staff was professional and friendly while visiting, also. The cost of the service was a little high as well.

We were charged almost $400 for a $50 part (thermostat). The service call and replacement would have been about $120.00 from any other company. We will never use 2nd Wind again nor will we recommend them. They did complete the repair, timely, but at an exorbitant price.

They gave me a reasonable estimate, and performed quality work. My AC was completely out on two of the warmest days of the summer and they provided window AC units until they got the unit installed. They also noted that my dryer vent was disconnected under my house, and this is where my main issue was. WIthout measuring the distance, they claimed that my exhaust was greater than the code distance allowed from the exterior wall, and told me that they would need to install a powered exhaust and it would be about 1500 for them to reconnect and replace the duct work. It is *not* that distance (another company actually measured), and did the work for closer to $300. Additionally, my duct was running over the HVAC unit that they replaced (the heat pump was in the interior of my house) and before they replaced the HVAC...it was connected. It may be because I am a single, female homeowner, but even though the technicians were always polite, at least get out your measuring tape. Don't think I'm going to be so naive as to not check behind you.

They last serviced the unit in June. There was no cost as we have a contract with them. We bought the unit from them and we pay an annual fee. We have used them for several years and we have not got one complaint to say about them!

The last service he was in and out in 30 minutes with a quick fix! The previous service was much more complicated and expensive. It took some time to diagnose the problem, then order the parts to fix it. There was a mix up with the part ordered. The actual work performed ended up being satisfactory.

Company was one of two I called to give me an estimate price of what it would cost to replace torn/ripped duct work. The gentleman that came was very professional. He covered his shoes upon entering the house. He took photo's of the problem and clearly explained to me what was wrong. He stated, the company that previously performed the work did a poor job. The company does not provide free estimates. Please ensure that if you call for an estimate that you get the name, date and time of the individual you talk too. Could have sworn I was told the service fee would be deducted from my balance if I used them to perform the job. No one admitted to saying that when I asked and technician stated it wasn't customary to deduct the service fee. I decided to use them because overall I was impressed and already had a bad job, so was willing to give up that $99 for a good job.

Have used these guys for years. The last visit was for standard maintenance. Their semi-annual inspection is very thorough and they do everything on an extensive check list from pressure checks, electrical evaluation etc. to cleaning the unit inside and out including washing and polishing! My unit is 15 years old and parts can be hard to find (it is an Amana runs great) and on two occasions, several years apart, a capacitor in the start system has given up the ghost. Rather than throwing up their hands and selling me a new unit they rebuilt a substitute. It was a tricky construction and took some knowledge and skill. The second time it went out the methods they used were in my customer file! Their staff is very professional, clean uniforms and booties when they come in the house. 2nd Wind does both background checks and random drug screening. Wow.

I scheduled a time to meet the 2nd Wind tech at our home with the friendly and courteous admin staff who scheduled an appointment window I knew I could make. I asked them to call when the tech was on the way to my home - that would give me time to leave the office and meet the tech close to when he arrived. The scheduling staff called me during my window and told me the tech was on the way to my home and would be there in about 15 minutes. I left the office and met the tech at my home - he had just arrived. The tech was courteous and moved quickly to inspect and service my HVAC unit - both in the attic and outside. He explained what he was doing as I asked questions - and offered to provide additional info on a whole home HEPA like system since my daughter has respiratory issues. I found the tech to be thorough and efficient - moving quickly, but still focused on quality service. 2nd wind is relatively expensive, but I do feel we have a much more reliable HVAC unit because of their continued service. I would recommend them to anyone concerned about ensuring their HVAC unit is well maintained.

The only technician that I allow to touch my 17-yo furnace/ac system is John Fling from 2nd Wind. He is absolutely the best. A mature individual who has worked on all the systems that are around. He knows how to maintain them thereby avoiding costly component and system replacement. At the same time he recognizes components that are likely to fail before the next scheduled maintenance. In the Autumn when he does his heating system scheduled maintenance it is as if his own family is living in the house; safety of the system is absolutely the most important thing. He painstakingly reseals every point where carbon monoxide might escape, etc. 2nd Wind and John Fling is the place to go. I unhesitatingly recommend him. If you can, wait if he is not available as I cannot vouch for any other tech.
