Excellent job

We noticed a water stain on the ceiling of one of our bedrooms. In addition, about 10 - 15 small shingles had fallen from the roof during the 8 1/2 years we have lived in our home. With the rainy/hurricane season fast approaching we decided to take care of a small problem before it became a large one so we called Ron Spivey of Atlantic Coast Roofing. Since we called late in the day Ron Spivey called us back early the next day and we arranged for him to come out later that day which he did. A delay occurred because of continued rain that backed up earlier jobs he had promised to finish. Anyway, Ron and his crew arrived a few days later (it could not be helped because it continued to rain) and did the job as fast as any roofer could. Following the job the crew cleaned up and for the most part we feel we now have a "new roof" that will last for years to come. Ron and his crew are professionals that I would recommend to anyone who needs work done on their roof. As far as the price, we paid exactly what we were quoted.......there were no hidden costs. Thank you Ron and your crew.

Ron and his crew were great. They arrived early and left late in order to get the job done as quickly as possible. The price was very reasonable, especially since I live 2 hours away in Columbia. My house was built in 1963 and the roof left a lot to be desired. After removing the shingles, Ron took me up on the roof and showed me everything that was wrong with the structure. It was unexpected, but Ron and his crew were very professional and worked with me to get the job done right. In short, the roof needed a complete overhaul (rotten plywood, rotting support beams). I was scared that I would fall through. Ron and his crew worked tirelessly in order to get my house back in great shape. The finished product looks great and my home is leak free again. The structure is solid and he even warranties his work for a lot longer than I will even live in the house. I highly recommend his work and would gladly do business with him again.

.I got an estimate from the owner to repair rotted wood on a deck. The owner and two workers arrived at 9AM and began work. They worked for about an hour before the owner left to go to another job and left his two workers. The workers began removing some of the wood off the porch and discovered that the problem was worse than expected. I instructed them to stop and I contacted our original contractor to repair the problem.The owner stayed approximately two hours and his two workers stayed four. They removed the iron railings from the porch, some rotted wood and copper flashing. They hauled away the debris upon leaving . There were no materials involved in the job, only labor. For this work, he charged $800.00. That averages $200.00/hr for labor only. When I questioned why the charge was so high, I was told that he had to pay worker's comp and taxes on his laborers and that one of them was a family member. Not sure why this was supposed to matter to me.

They did a good job for us and his specialty is roofing. He did some carpentry for us and he had to go back and fix some things, but he was very happy to do that for us. I really liked him and I would definitely call him again if we every need any roofing work done.

We had a roof leak and that would leak water into our bathroom whenever there would be a heavy rain. It was a small leak so it would not leak every time it rained which made it all the more difficult to find out where exactly it was coming from to make the necessary repair. I had a different roofing company come out and do some work which did nothing to fix the problem. Ron Spivey came the house himself and looked at the roof and the bathroom and I felt comfortable with his estimate and opinion about what needed to get done. I had two other roofers give me estimates that were much more expensive. The work was done professional and to my satisfaction. It has been a month and there has been some heavy rains and there has been no leak. Every roofer that came to the house all commented how difficult these small leaks can be and to repair so although the job was small it was a difficult one that Mr Spivey repaired the first time. I was highly impressed when after the job was done he didn't even want payment until it rained and he made sure the job was done without any leaking.

Ron, the owner, came out to do the quote and supervised the install. He was friendly and professional. Atlantic Coast's price was significantly lower than the other 3 quotes we got. The work was done during 2 days (in high heat) and the final price was the same as the quote.

Ron worked with us on quoting different options for our Charleston Single. He was extremely helpful and went to great effort to explain exactly the process and products that the job would entail. We appreciated the fact that he took the time to involve the supplier representative to get a thorough opinion of what needed to happen in order to use the Sealoflex coating system. He is very easy to talk to and even though we delayed our project due to costs, we plan on using RBAC when we get our funds saved up.

The job was delayed for several days due to inclement weather and that was fine with us as I did not want an exposed roof during a rainstorm. Once the job was begun, the old roofing material was removed and cleared away in a single day as we were told it would be. When the new metal roofing was delivered work was begun and progressed as promised. We again had several rain delays but the contractor kept in touch with us daily to let us know what to expect. There were several problem areas on the roof because this is an older home and not perfectly square and level. We were consulted any time a problem arose and questioned as to how we wanted the men to deal with the problem. Metal roofing is more exacting than asphalt and they dealt with the abnormalities very professionally. Upon completion of the entire job, including final cleanup we were pleased with the outcome but the true test was yet to come. About 1 week after completion, we had a heavy rainstorm and discovered a leak in the area of a bathroom vent. This is a common area for problems and we had already paid the contractor. We called and he was out there that day and fixed the problem witht he area in question. He assured us that if at any time we should find a problem with any of their work, he would come and make it right. I have every confidence that he will be true to his word as he was straightforward with us from the start of this project.

The person who came to meet me was great. He looked at my roof and gave me an approximate price. He told me what to look for when I did my roof. He told me that he would get back to me regarding the price range, but he never got back to me. I did not call him either. His prices were higher than the other companies, but he gave me a reason for that saying that he provided guarantee for the work that he did. I would use his services in the future.

We had several leaks in our roof, that have been repaired previously by others in the past couple years. We called Ron Spivey with Roofing by Atlantic Coast, which we found on Angie's list with good reviews, to come and give us his opinion and an estimate. He was fairly punctual, but unfortuneately had an injury and could not go on the roof, but did look in the attic to see where the issues were. We wondered about his estimate, since he could not go on top to do a full evaluation. We obtained several other opininons and estimates to compare. They all involved removing a portion of another peak that overlapped the area that had leaked, primarily due to a gas vent that was not sealed, and some nails penetrating the plywood. Ron stated he had framing experience, and described what would need to be done, what the cause of the leak was, etc. I personally am not a roofer, but common sense and my little handyman experience told me that what he was saying made good sense, so that made us feel better about his estimate (even though he didn't go on the outside of the roof). After the other estimates were in, we still went with Ron's bid. His wasn't necessarily the lowest, but all in all, we felt better that he had the framing experience to do the job involving more than just replacing a few shingles and doing a little caulking. While on the roof doing the repairs, we asked him to review anything else he felt needed attention (like the other bidders did), and he strongly recommended replacing the cheap ridge vents that were loose. He gave us a price to do that work in short order, and we agreed to have it done as his price was less than the other estimates. Ron obtained these materials and had all the work completed the same day. Ron and his three people finished the work in about six hours, on the hottest day of the year so far. They cleaned up pretty well (I did find a few nails, etc. but only about a handful or two which is expected). We have only had one or two rainfalls since, but the area of major concern seems to be fine now. Ron said his work is guaranteed, and if anything comes up concerning what he did, to just call him. I doubt we will have to call, until the roof needs to be completely replaced in another ten years. Ron was very personable, returned calls in a reasonable time, and didn't ask for any money until the job was satisfactory.

Ron (the owner) was friendly and very punctual. They got there when they said they would and finished the entire job in under two days, including cleaning up every last nail. I was very impressed with the quality of the work, the price I received (which was less than estimates quoted by other companies), and the speed with which they completed the job. I would definitely recommend!

In -person estimate was generated on -site on Dec. 3, 2009 in a detailed manner. Owner(Ron Spivey) discussed the estimate by phone with me including deciding on roof color. Estimate was for $4500 + extra charges for replacement roof sheathing. Crew of 4 started work on Dec. 16 at 8 AM and installed open top dumpster for debris, in driveway. First day was spent removing old roof material, replacing rotten wood, and new felt paper. Second day was spent installing perimeter drip edge, shingles, and ridge vent. By 3 PM the second day, the job was completed. 2 weeks later, I received the final invoice by email , for a total of $4750.

With a crew of four, these men were on the job around 7:00 am, and quickly removed two layers of old shingles. We knew there were a few bad spots where wood would need to be replaced, but could not get a estimate on the repairs, until after the shingles were removed. The spots ended up being pretty small and easily fixable, so there were no extra charges for the repairs, or for installing the drip cap. The new shingles quickly went on, and my roof looks awesome!!! The crew was at my home until around 8:00 pm, cleaning up and they did a very good job. I was not quite ready to see my old roof scattered around my home and thought they would need to return the next day to finish. However, they stayed until the job was completely finished, even asking me if the clean up, was to my satisfaction. It was, and still is, as I have found, less than 10 nails in my yard. No down payment required, and the final payment is not due, until the job is completed to your satisfaction.
