Ron was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and patient. I originally talked to him after Christmas but because of finances waited until the first of May to do the work. He explained the various materials, was willing to negotiate on the specifics of deck repair, and was straightforward about the issues of the overall decking on my house. Above everything, I found Ron to be trustworthy and honest and I would definitely do business with him again. (Hopefully in 25 years or so.) He also has an epic beard, which I appreciate.

They did a good job. I didn't have any trouble--there were no leaks or anything.

First of all let me start by saying this was one of the best experiences I have ever had hiring someone to do work for me. I called Ron after finding Atlantic on Angie's List and he returned the call the same day and we scheduled a time for him to come give me a quote. He showed up exactly when he said he would and his quote was better than several of the other quotes I received and he seemed to know his trade well which gave me an added level of confidence. He provided a quote by the next day. We continued to corresponded via text message which was much more convenient than playing phone tag. We set a date that worked for both of us and we texted to confirm the day before. He and his crew showed up 15 min early on the day we set (his crew was always on time). I threw them a twist when I asked for the quote. I wanted to see if they would be willing to blow insulation into the ceiling of the sunroom while they had the roof off. Ron said they had never done it before but admitted he had been encouraged by one of their vendors to start doing it and even checked if the vendor was still loaning the blower for free. They weren't doing it anymore but he said if I got the stuff they would be willing to try to install it. The day of the roof install, I got the insulation and blower from Lowes and to his word the crew installed the insulation for me. Ron made some suggestions for colors of shingles to use and texted me a link to look at pictures to select what we wanted. I enjoyed meeting his crew and interacting with them. Very professional and just great guys, They also did some caulking for me around my dormer windows on the front of the house because I had some minor leaks but didn't want to replace the entire from of the house roof quite yet. They worked straight for two days and completed the work just as they had quoted. As I started this review, I will finish it This was hands down one of the best homer repair experiences I have had. Ron and Roofing by Atlantic Coast is wonderful to work with and did an A+ job. Thanks Ron for all you and your crew did for us.

It went well. Ron was easy to work with, knowledgable, and his crew did a good job. He gave me a very fair price for the job. He came by a couple days afterward to review the job, noticed a small problem, and had his crew come correct the problem. I probably wouldn't have known it was a problem, but he wanted it done right.

He is very professional and knew exactly what I was talking about. He knew the system that I wanted on there. He was hard to schedule and I had read that in previous reviews that he was a little tough to schedule. You were kind of in limbo whether he was going to call you back but sure enough one night at eight o'clock he texted me and wanted to schedule it. So I had called him to make sure he got my voice mail and he said yea I have to get back to the office and schedule it and in two days later we didn't hear anything and then that evening he texted back, it was kind of funny. But he showed up and he did the work. He actually messed up on the day he was supposed to show, he ended up going to the wrong job, but he did call me and let me know and I was very flexible. He came the following day. When you run a business you got to know that stuff. He was very professional.

Ron and his crew were a pleasure to work with. We solicited multiple bids for the job and while Ron wasn't the lowest bid he seemed to be the most knowledgeable and personable. We have a very large and steep roof with multiple apexes. Our old roof had multiple leaks, exposed nail heads, and holes left where the previous roofer nailed in toe boards. When we purchased the house our home inspector missed all of these signs (but that's for another review). Ron walked us through all the issues and explained the proper way to install a roof that would avoid all these problems. In any construction job there are bound to be delays or hiccups, it was more important to us to work with someone that we felt would best handle those hiccups rather than simply choosing the lowest bid. There were some early delays in the delivery of the material but Ron kept us informed every step of the way. His crew was there every day at 7:30 and worked until dusk. There is nothing pretty about replacing a roof but when the job was complete the cleanup was so thorough it was like they were never there. Overall we are very happy with the work Ron and his team performed, they new roof looks great and would recommend them to anyone needing roofing work done.

Mr. Spivey was a pleasure to work with. He didn't inconvenience me in any way and went out of his way to to inform the association about the problem for the sake of our neighbors living in these town homes. I would use their services again in a heart beat!

Ron Spivey is a pleasure to work with and his crew was as well. I had gotten three estimates for the job which were all fairly close but I felt comfortable with Ron's approach and willingness to please his customers. They did an excellent job on the roof. They had to replace a few rotten pieces of plywood , which was expected. Part of the job was to replace one skylight and check two more for possible leaks. We haven't had much rain since the job was done but I feel comfortable with Ron's assurance that if I have any problems, no matter how small,just call him and he will be here to fix it. The job was done in a timely manner and the cleanup after the job was excellent. I would highly recommend them

In short: Overall, everything was fine and we are satisfied. I would use Roofing By Atlantic Coast again. The roof looks great and the job was well done. Details: Ron was very thorough in the beginning - he offered great consultations on shingle option and colors. He knew the answers to many questions, such as "how would a certain color fit the theme of our neighborhood", and "would it work well with our house", etc. He made it easy to pick the right shingle choice. The roofing crew worked very fast and diligently, completing the job in a timely manner. Clean-up was thorough, less the occasional nail here and there which is to be expected. They were friendly and seemed trustworthy. The final cost of the job was about dead on with the given estimate, which was a comparable price to Williford and 2 other companies, but our end result was very good and Ron offered us better shingle quality. This company would have scored an A, but we had two small problems. One, we were not given a final bill (for recording keep and tax purposes). Two, I'm pretty sure the original quote included a drip edge, but I cannot see a drip edge installed. Perhaps this was not included, but no final bill to know for sure. We had made plans for the company to install a gutter system and replace some rotten trim after the job was completed, but we have not heard back. I had planned to ask about the bill and drip edge when the gutter job started, but I've tried to get in touch and set a time twice but haven't been able to. Understandably, they are busy doing big roof installs..

Ron Spivey is a pleasure to work with. He's an excellent project manager and a man of his word. He had all the materials and his crew here on time each day. When unexpected damage showed up under the shingles, he somehow got the needed plywood, the flashing, and other materials here on a Sunday and charged us only for the materials and labor to install it. His crew worked 8 to 9 hours each day in 90+ degree weather. Ron was here the whole time to oversee it. They clean up as they go and then, at the end, went over and over the property to remove the stray materials and nails. Bottom-line, the new roof looks great! We had feared the process--Ron made it as painless as we could imagine.. And we have the assurance that, should something unforeseen come up in the future, Ron will be as dependable then as he's been now. He values his reputation, and we have no doubt, will totally fulfill the warranty. There's a big reason Ron and Atlantic Roofing have been given the Angie's List "Super Service Award"!

Prompt friendly service from initial quote until roof completed and last piece of trash removed. Although, contract stated that RBAC was not responsible for damage done by material distribution company, Ron Spivey took care of lawn repair caused when roofing delivery truck driver backed over part of the lawn. He arranged for reimbursement between him and the roofing material supplier. Small, local company that provides excellent service.

Great great company! Highly recommended. You will find out as soon as you start to talk to them. I needed a new house for the house. Certainly for a project like that, I contacted several roofing companies for the estimation. Ron was the last one I called. His price was the most competitive based on the same materials used and the scope of the work. He is also a great communicator. I always got the response from him right away every time I called or emailed him during the whole process. I think that's very important for any business. A lot times a little bit delay or some small changes of the plan won't be a big deal for the consumers. What really frustrates us is the lack of the communication or the carelessness from the service provider. You won't see that at all when working with Ron. He was keeping on emphasing the trust with the clients, which is the key for his business. His crew showed up in time. Covered the unfinished part of the roof properly while it was raining. The new roof looks great. Ron also waived me the fees which they did as extra while they were there. It might not be that much money but it made me feel good that he cared about the client.

He was very friendly, efficient and honest. His crew got the work done and cleaned up after themselves.

I picked Ron Spivey and Atlantic Coast from a short list of three other top-rated roofers on Angie's List. While he was the least expensive (by a little bit), it was really his professionalism and manner that convinced me and my gut was correct. We made a deal with a signed contract and he was able to start promptly. No up-front deposit; I paid in full the day the job was completed. He uses good product ( we picked a Owens Corning 135 mph wind resistant shingle in my case). He showed up on time and he and his crew were incredibly efficient, completeing the job in three days (though they returned briefly for some final details after the final walk-around). Ron told me his crew has been together for ten years and it really showed - their working together on a complicated roof was like well-crafted choreography. Even my neighbors noticed. They protected my landscaping and cleaned up well, though there is no way they could have found all the nails in the bushes and I did find a couple when I swept the driveway after they were done. All in all, it was a positive experience for a job I dreaded to have done. I recommend Ron's Atlantic Coast without hesitation. It is his company, he takes pride in it, and it shows.

I should have written this report months ago! Didn't even notice I forgot until I was going through my history. So here's the story: I arranged to have a roof replaced on a 1960's home in West Ashley. The first roofer I chose, who I did not get through Angies List, turned out to be a crook! Long story short, I was left with a bare roof (except for one addition which still had shingles), no felt and nothing else covering it. It was a Saturday and I was leaving town on the following Monday so I was pretty much SCREWED before I called Roofing by Atlantic Coast. The owner, Ron, answered his phone himeself on a Saturday. I've dealt with a lot of roofers, and never has the owner answered the phone, and never has a company picked up the line on a weekend. This is huge to me. I told Ron my debacle, and within 1 hour he was at the house with his crew. He gave me a great price on removing the remainder of the roof and laying the new felt and shingles (which I already had delivered to the house the previous week during the original roofer's debacle). I know it's a great price because I had six roofing companies give me estimates before choosing the crook. The six roofers were all from Angies List - and they all wanted $8000-$10000 for 30 squares of new roofing. I ended up getting suckered by a friend-of-a-friend-knows-a-roofer who offered me a deal. Don't be me - don't be that guy. Just hire a real roofer like Roofing by Atlantic Coast. Ron's pricing schedule beat ALL OF THEM. And his crew worked their butts off in the hot Carolina sun in 100 degree weather. I couldn't be more thankful for Ron and his crew saving my behind that hot summer weekend. I really wish I had found Ron in the first place. Thanks Ron!

Very pleased with the quality and price of work. The work crew were there at daybreak, worked through the day...total 2.5 days work. The only item is the start day moved a few times due to weather but this would happen regardless of the contractor. Ron performed additional work in some vinyl and metal clad of the exterior. Enjoyed working with Ron.
