From the time of the initial consultation, throughout the remodeling process and to the end, Mike and his team were extremely professional and competent. We received an estimate prior to beginning the work which broke down the pricing of each item and the work that was entailed. We also received information on vendors and showrooms in the area to get ideas on what we were looking for. The work was completed within the timeframe that was specified. There was never a lack of communication if we had a question about something and Mike was always available by phone or text. The whole process was smooth and not stressful in the least bit.The bathroom came out exactly as I saw it in my mind and I could not be happier with the results! Great job!

Contacted Mike 2/6/14 via Angie's List to get a quote on some home improvements. He kept saying he was going to come by but never showed up. Finally, after a month of dealing with him I gave up. Never showed dispute 3 or 4 conversations. Typical protocol for Charleston contractors.

Owner not a hands on person. Dealt mostly with foreman who was a very nice guy. Workers ok job but did not clean up after every day. Price expensive with very low amount allowance for individual supplies.

Repair job was a little more extensive than first thought. Crew on site was able to do the extra repair work without issue.

Mike and his crew are very professional and Mike always responds quickly to our questions and requests. Mike is also very flexible in terms. My husband and I are DIYers and he is open to letting us do some minor interior projects so we can save on cost. He is very patient in explaining things that I am not familiar with and always keeps us informed of project progress and decision making set points. We enjoy working with Mike and his crew! Will definitely recommend them.

I used them twice and they were great. They job went very well. They have an eye for detailed things and they were very polite. It took about seven days.

I had the bad luck to hire someone who was not qualified for the work. After firing that contractor, Commonwealth was recommended to me by another supplier. The owner, Mike Eippert, responded quickly, was very sympathetic to my situation, provided a very prompt quote, and was able to start immediately because of the large number of craftsmen who work for him. The bathroom was completely gutted and a new shower was constructed, tile installed, tile floor installed, all plumbing, electrical, trim and fixtures installed. The crew were all talented, timely, and good people to have working in my home. I would highly recommend Commonwealth and Mike Eippert and would absolutely hire them, again.

This is a great contracting group. Their craftsmanship is exceptional. All the people involved with my remodel are not only craftsmen but were great people to work with also. I would definitely recommend Michael, his right hand man Tim and the crews anyday.

Mike and his team were great. Some time before Commonwealth repaired our shower, another contractor had worked on it. In simplest terms, the first contractor not only did poor work, they made the correct repair by Commonwealth harder than it needed to be by doing some unsavory things. This did not phase Commonwealth. They were able to correct all issues, rebuild the shower on schedule and completed a couple of add-on repairs too. I will use Commonwealth Contracting again!

Mike was very easy to work with even when unexpected problems would show up. His crews were very professional and helpful. The work included taking out an old fireplace and replacing it with glass doors, new kitchen countertops, some electrical wiring. Mike was on time and on cost. The work was all excellent with no problems. If I ever need a contractor again I will call Mike.

I did not choose commonwealth for our projects. I received three estimates for my project and I picked a different contractor. All the contractor were equally qualified, and commonwealth just happened to be the highest bidder.

Mike was right on time for our first app. And folllowed right up with an estimate. He helped us make the best selection on the type of hardwoods we wanted and provided competitive pricing. He and his crew were very professional and finished on time. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

I went with another company because they were better salesman and because they didn't expect any money upfront. But, they were fine, I would call them again for another estimate if I have other work to do.

Mike and his crews were prompt at returning calls, giving estimates and handling concerns throughout the projects. They also handled other concerns, like a frozen water pipe burst, while on site that was not part of the scope of work they were hired for. There were two main jobs we hired Commonwealth for, before we moved into a house we were renovating: the floors and ceilings. For the ceilings, Mikes team scraped 1900 sq. foot of popcorn ceilings, repaired areas and skim coated everything and then painted. They took down light fixtures and air vents to scrape underneath of them, as well. Everything turned out great. For the floors, we had removed about 1900 sq. of carpeting and needed someone to repair, replace, install, and refinish hardwoods that were under them. Mike's crew demo'd 600 sq of particle board from two rooms, and installed red oak select hardwood in those rooms. They also patched numerous spots of damaged or missing hardwood in our great room. Once finished the repaired areas are hardly noticeable from the existing floors. They also salvaged, sanded, and refinished an additional 1,200 sq/ft of hardwood that was under the carpet and was pretty damaged and worn in areas. I was shown numerous stain samples to choose from, and ended up doing a custom blend stain with three coats of a poly topcoat; which was all included in the cost. His flooring people were very knowledgeable and experienced. While his crew was at the home, I was working on other projects and had all my tools and other things on site as well. Everyone involved seemed trustworthy and professional. After the project was completed, Mike did a final walk through to make sure everything was satisfactory before we settled up. A week later I moved into the property, and found a spot in the floor that I was concerned about, and Mike sent someone over right away to address the area. His initial contract proposal was easy to follow, and they stuck to the plan. There were no hidden fees, or things that weren't accounted for. Commonwealth was great to work with, and I'd suggest them to others.

Lee and Bobby stripped the floor and stained it the first day. The next two days Lee put down several layers of finish. The job was accomplished without incident and the floor looks great. Lee was a very personable guy that we enjoyed working worth. I would recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

The experience was fine, everything went fine. The price was fine.

It went very well--I cannot say enough good things about Tim and his crew. They were out there working in some really cold weather to get the project done. My home is a old historic home and they did a wonderful job in matching the replacement wood to the original wood, matching the craftsmanship in the work and sanding and painting so everything looked fresh and new when they were done. They had to replace more areas than originally thought and they did so without an increase in the price. They were especially wonderful about doing a great clean-up job every day before they left and I really appreciated that --made being under construction less onerous. Will definitely use them again!!

.It's nice to know that there are still contractors who actually do what they say, for the price they said, and in the time framre they told you. I found this contractor on Angie's list because we are moving to SC from PA and dont know anyone. I chose them for their high ratings from others . Now I know why. Great contractor, great crew, excellent quality. They actually do some custom work. They don't nickle or dime you. If there are unexpected surprises, they tell you up front, tell you how much, and stick to it. Anyone reading this, look no further. This contractor is rare. I have had nightmares in the past with contractors, this was the best experience I have ever had. Mike and Logan are pros. If Angie would let me give six stars, I would.

The quote was okay but we didn’t use them. They were very professional and good. They were just too expensive for us and quoted $115,000. They were fabulous and the guys who came out were good. They had great reviews too and we would probably engage them in the future.

I would use Mike and his crew again without hesitation. A great group of guys that work hard and "get it done". Mike and the guys are very easy to work with. Pricing and timeline is clear and accurate, both of which are rare attributes for most construction contractors in the Charleston area. The price, while not cheapest out there is good for the quality of service - not overpriced but if you are shopping for bargain-basement pricing go elsewhere and get inferior work or go here and get it done right. Punctuality was generally good, but Mike and his crew are "rocking it" thanks to the excellent reputation they are earning in town which is leaving little flex time in the schedule. They always show up but sometimes a bit later than expect, not a big deal as I work from home but for those with less flexibility in meeting contractors you may want to make that clear up front. Quality of work was great, as with any crew and such a large project some minor things can be missed. A quick review with Mike or his lead guy on site rectified any issues. Having dealt with several major contractors in the past that failed miserably to complete the work on time, show up when asked, or deliver quality work. This is the best repairs, maintenance, and construction crew I've found in 15 years and will look nowhere else for the next project.

I had only a vague idea of what I wanted the finished jobs to look like, but Mike and his contractor brought my idea into focus and provided me with exactly what I wanted & needed (even though I didn't know what that was until they provided it). Totally happy with the services delivered.

They were very responsive. I actually worked with the owner of the project and his name is Michael. He was very responsive in getting out for me and he answered all the questions I had about the project. His proposal was very detailed and thorough and everything was itemized, which was very helpful in getting a determination of what the work would cost in each item. I also had a revision to his quote and he was very timely in getting it back to me as well.

We had wood floors installed in the master bedroom a few months ago and Tim was able to match our existing floors and we were so pleased that we had the floors done in the other two downstairs bedrooms. The finished product looks beautiful just like the master. There were a couple of finishing items that needed to be addressed and Mike was in touch and promptly sent people out and made sure that we were 100% satisfied before even sending an invoice. The guys who came out always gave a date and time and were punctual and if they were going to be late they would call. They were always polite and professional. I would definitely use Commonwealth contracting again.
