Firstly, you were provided with the estimate for repair on 6/11/15, the day of the scheduled service, at exactly 3:15 and 47 seconds PM, by our CSR who was prompted by you at 3 PM when you called to inquire about the job, moments after the tech left the jobsite. If you would like to review the phone records for yourself, we’d be happy to provide those to you. At the beginning of every call for service we provide an in depth explanation of terms & conditions. We do not book anything without explaining these terms & conditions first. This not only includes an explanation of our pricing structure, but also the turnaround time on all reports, estimates and parts for repair. Furthermore, when discussing our estimates with part(s) for repair, we explain that all part(s) for repair estimates are Blue-book valued & calculated and not only include the cost of part(s), but also the processing, shipping, handling, installation & warranty on the part, which is good for at least 1 year and sometimes good for 5 years (VS MFG AVERAGE PART(S) WARRANTY OF 90 DAYS). Additionally, we always make sure that these terms and conditions are clearly understood & agreed upon prior to scheduling. The Bluebook valued estimate for part(s) & repair needed is actually $139.88 + tax, the actual estimate provided to you was far less than that. Despite all of this effort that we make, if you read the entire coupon published by Angie's List, you would have known that parts are not included within the $75 fee being offered. It’s as if you read only the first line and just stopped there. The entire coupon was written & published by Angie’s List, the “fine print” that you are referring to is the exact same font size as the deal description so that it’s clearly legible for the purchaser to read, because you’re supposed to read it. It’s important. Truly, if a technician is able to repair an item without replacing any of its parts, the vast majority of the time the technician will. For example, if a washer is failing to turn because a belt has slipped off of a pulley & the inner drum, the tech would disassemble the unit, lubricate, adjust & tighten various part(s), replace the belts and then reassemble the entire unit. After that, if the washer’s moving parts & motor system check out ok and part(s) are not needed, then the tech would regard that repair as complete. Sometimes, that kind of repair carries an additional “labor to repair” charge. Given the terms and conditions of the Big Deal, ALL OF THAT would be included in the $75 service fee. It’s far more cost effective & efficient for us, as well as the customer to approach repair in this manner. However, if the technician found that one of the belts was torn and the other two belts were weak (as your washer has 3 belts) and on top of that found that the pulley system was distorted, then part(s) would need to be replaced and just the cost of those part(s) alone, without processing, shipping, handling is more than the service fee can even begin to cover. What if the technician had found that the washer was not turning because the motor & drive system was faulty? These are not inexpensive parts, motors alone, without shipping start roughly between $125-$200 and can go up from there. As a business that provides more than just service to its customers, but also jobs to its employees, equipment & vehicles so that the employees are equipped to work, fuel for those vehicles, phones, insurance, licensing, ect; if we were to agree to what you are asking, we would be paying you to fix your appliance. Additionally, Due to the nature of our contracts with our authorized network of appliance parts distributors, WE CANNOT & DO NOT INSTALL PART(S) ORDERED FROM ANYWHERE EXCEPT OUR NETWORK OF AUTHORIZED PART(S) DISTRIBUTION CENTERS. Should anything happen with the part(s) being defective or causing damages due to poor manufacturing, the client as well as our own company would need some kind of recourse for action. The practice of installing parts which are procured outside of our authorized network of vendors carries too much liability & risk; insurance won’t even cover damages related to this kind of exposure. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at 843-789-4824. I will be more than happy to help. Respectfully, Michelle Hackett VP of Operations,
