911 Service Today

We have used this company for many years for any major appliance repairs that are needed. They are complete professionals and provide excellent quality technical service. Most recently, Torrey worked magic with our older propane gas range/oven and everything now functions like the appliance is brand new. We were really impressed how quickly he accomplished a major disassemble of the stove and then replacement with the needed new parts. Plus he carefully lifted the stove away from the wall, rather than dragging it, so he didn't make a single mark on our wood floor! He cleaned up everything and made sure the unit was working correctly for every function possible. We will continue to always call 911 Service Today because their service technicians, like Torrey, are worth every penny.

Poorly. Between the initial service call and the part installation, the repair cost almost as much as we originally paid for the dishwasher. But since the dishwasher was only 2.5 years old, we went ahead and did it. Big mistake. We learned from this experience to not buy Whirlpool, to not use 911 Service Today, and that most appliances are disposable items.. 911 did follow up after the repair to ask how it was working. We told them it was not drying and not cleaning as well as it did. They made some suggestions, such as using rinse aid. We tried that, but it did not help. When we called them again, they suggested that we use less detergent. We tried that and several other things, but nothing worked, so we called them again. They reluctantly agreed to come back out, but said that if they found a problem that they considered to be unrelated to the original problem, we would be responsible for the service call. So if there was a problem that they missed before (I suppose they'd claim it was a new problem), we'd have to pay for another service call. I said no thanks. This was not a good experience.

Called on a weekend and they fit me in on the Monday holiday which is not common nowadays and REALLY appreciated. Did not try to oversell what was needed. Technician had worked on our unit three years prior which they recalled and I didn't. Having consistency in a service company is rare these days and will definitely call them up next time.

My refrigerator was not working properly. The freezer was fine but the frig section was too warm. Strange problem! I had one appliance repair person out and eventually the GE technician out to work on this. It worked for awhile and started up again. This time I called 911 Service Today. They came out and finally got to the root of the problem. The fan was not working properly, and they fixed it, and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them.

We have used 911 Service Today twice before for major appliance repairs and have been very impressed with their prompt service of our needs and excellent technical skills of Tom, their Head Technician. It seems like he can work on any appliance of any brand and get it all back in great working condition! We were grateful that the very nice ladies in the front office once again worked us onto the schedule as quickly as possible. They are a pleasure to deal with. Tom determined that the gas manifold was leaking. He advised us to not use the stove or at least use it as little as possible until parts could be ordered and obtained. When those arrived a week later, they again got us onto the schedule that very day and Tom plus another technician replaced the gas manifold in record time. The stove worked well and smelled just fine after that but I found the burner flames were a little too hot for my liking. 911 Service Today kindly got Tom to come back out to make slight adjustments and they didn't even charge me for the extra call that time. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them for any appliance repair needs in the future.

Great experience from start to finish. I researched Angie's List and saw 911 Service Appliance Repair was top rated and would service anywhere in the local area, including Moncks Corner. I called and a very nice lady took down all the details and was able to get a technician out to us within 3 days. Tom called before coming and asked if he could come before our appointment time, which was great for us. He was extremely knowledgeable, diagnosed the problem quickly, and explained everything plus cost before proceeding. Apparently the drain was frozen over in the freezer cavity and clogged with debris. He cleared all that and installed a drain heater kit to prevent the problem from recurring. He was quick, very thorough, very professional, courteous,and cleaned up after the work. We were very happy with the services provided and will definitely call this company again if any other work is needed.

When I called for appointment, earliest available was next day, so set the appointment for 3:30 to 5:30 (may have been 3:00 to 5:00 but that doesn't change the result) and told minimum charge for the service call is $95. OK. Technician called me about 2PM, said he was running early, could he come by soon. Told him I couldn't be home until 3PM, so let's keep the original time. He said he'd see me then. About 4PM I get a call from their office that the technician couldn't get a hold of me and went to another job, but should be there within the hour, still within the original window. OK. He arrives at 6:35PM. Definitely not impressed by the lack of punctuality, now going into the dinner hour, but he was very polite so I was willing to overlook this and get on with the repair. He diagnosed the problem as a compressor fan motor that had failed and couldn't fix it then since the part had to be ordered. Said the office would call the next day with a quote. OK. Paid the $95 and he was on his way. The office called the next day with the quote. $374.78 on top of the $95 already paid for the diagnosis, for a total of $469.78. That just seemed way too high based on previous repairs and it was hundreds more than I expected. Since it was going to be about five days for them to get the part and we had this storm called Irma approaching, I said I'd call back after Irma before giving the go ahead. That evening, since I had paid for the diagnosis, I confirmed my thoughts about the additional price quoted. A 30 minute web search resulted in my ordering the exact same replacement motor for $71 including shipping plus instructions on the simple install. Install took this amateur 30 minutes. $71 and total of one hour of my time for what they thought reasonable to charge $374.78. Now as I wrote at the outset, this was the first time I needed an appliance repair in Charleston, so I have no way of knowing if these type of charges and markup are the norm in this town and 911 Service Today is in line with what others charge. If that's the case, can't fault 911 Service Today for going with market prices, but it's a sorry testimony for anyone needing an appliance repair in this city. I won't know the answer to this until my next repair experience with someone other than 911 Service today.

The technician, Blair, was very professional in regard to the diagnosis and the fix. He answered our questions in regard to the dryer's operation. The vent required attention as it had three holes which needed repair and over time, it had accumulated a heavy lint load which compromised its effectiveness. Blair handled all these contingencies in a very polite and professional manner which was both friendly and informative. I would certainly recommend him to all our neighbors.

Very fast, efficient and courteous. I would hire again. My only issue is that the re-wrapping of the dryer hose to the dryer was not done well, which means that in a few weeks it all came apart and I had to redo it myself. But besides this, the dryer was fixed well (back in January 2017) and is still working well to date: August 2017. And we use it daily!

Perform the service call order parts and repair to 3 to 5 business days

Andrew came out when it suited us and did his best to repair our 11 year old washer. He checked with his colleagues and they all agreed it would be too expensive to repair. He recommended what style of washer to get and what not to get. We were very pleased with his professionalism and service. We would definitely call 911 Service today again.
