 + -1 moreThe day after the technician came out we had not heard from the office, so we called them for the part quote. The quote for the part was around $145.00, we informed the office that we would be back in touch with them. After doing some research, looking online and talking with a local appliance store we knew that we could purchase the part on our own for half the price that they quoted us ($60.00). In the fine print on the deal, it does not say that parts have to be purchased through 911, it only says that there will be "additional cost on all parts necessary for repair". We purchased the part ourselves and called 911 to schedule the deal included "second trip for installation, if needed, is free". We were told that they cannot return to install a part that is not ordered through them because they cannot warranty it. We let them know that we do not expect them to warranty the part, we just want to have it installed as stated in the deal, but they refused. Now we are stuck having to either pay more and have another company install the part or try to do it ourselves. It feels like we were lured in with a "deal" and then on the back end the company is up charging the price of parts to make additional money on the return trip to install the needed part.
Description of Work: We purchased the $75 deal for a large appliance repair for our son and daughter in law. 911 was very responsive and scheduled the appointment quickly. The technician that came out was very knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem as the timer in the dryer. He informed us that the next morning the office would call with a quote for the part needed to fix the dryer.

I pre-purchased the visit through Angie's list to save $15 off the $90 charge. I received a call the next day with the estimate and approved it and parts were ordered. Within 2 weeks the repair was completed professionally by Drew.The washer has been operating well since the repair.
Description of Work: Replaced lid of top loading wash machine that the plastic portion had cracked and hinge broke after warranty expired.

Had been briefed on basics ahead of time based on my interview with person setting up schedule. Professional, but friendly. Assessed the problem within the hour. The fix required, as I suspected, a new subassembly. Provider called with a price, ordered the part and same tech returned to install. We weren't happy about an expensive repair, but were very happy with the service company and the technician.
Description of Work: Diagnosed problem with wretched Samsung refrigerator icemaker. Replaced with new subassembly.

Description of Work: My refrigerator was malfunctioning and not cooling as much as it was supposed to. 911 Service Today came out to take a look and apparently the door was not shutting all the way (partly my own fault for not shutting the door all the way!). The team made some quick fixes so that the door would shut more easily on its on. They also checked the back of the refrigerator to make sure everything was working properly.

 + -1 moreThey came very quickly, were neat and clean, diagnosed problem with thermostat quickly but then went beyond that step by going outside house to alley to examine exhaust line and determine that it was clogged which caused the thermostat to overheat. They cleaned out line and showed me the debri they found. Also, exhaust line had come disconnected from dryer and they made sure it was properly in place before leaving.
Description of Work: Dryer was not working Replaced thermostat and cleared exhaust line which had a lot of debri in it.

 + -1 moreFirst off, I'm a big believer in the importance of customer service, especially the initial phone call. 911 Service Today was exceptionally professional and attentive. They told me all of the details of cost (service call + cost of the parts), and were very patient with me. I cannot be happier with the service that I received from 911 service today. The only way this would have been better was if the part I needed was on the technician's truck, and it's just not practical for them to keep every part for every appliance in stock. It took a little less than a week for them to order the part and schedule an appointment for the technician to come back out and install the part. The really impressive thing about them from a customer service aspect is that I just received a follow-up call from them! They seemed genuinely concerned about how my dishwasher was doing and if it was running the way it was supposed to or if I noticed any new issues. I will not hesitate to use 911 Service Today again, and I wholeheartedly would recommend them to anyone needing appliance repair!

 + -1 moreI called on the 29th, and asked if 911 Service Today could install our new MW/Oven combo by New Year's Eve as we had guests coming over. They said yes, 8:30am on 31st, and quoted me $110, which was half of what Advanced Appliance quoted me, and Advanced Appliance couldn't show up until after the new year. Both technicians were at my house promptly at 8:30, called 15 mins prior, and were in a good mood, very positive and up-beat. They did the work in less than 30 minutes, and were very professional. I highly recommend 911 Service Today in the tri-county area, where finding good help that is timely is often difficult. Way to go 911! Ask for Drew and/or Alex, they were the techs that did the work.

They were calling to offer a refund but in the many, many text messages they sent...the best they mentioned was that they would like to offer me "consolations." For example - after the second repair "I wanted to reach out to you to see how else I could help you. I'd like the opportunity to talk about the latest findings as I believe I can possibly get a better potential offer." Their second "repair" lasted a very short time - a little longer than the first - but still not more than a few months. We decided to just replace the washing machine. A diagnostic warranty? Are they kidding? They expect their customers to pay extra to ensure the 911 actually fixes the right problem? Wow!! Nice racket! I wasn't reacting to the earlier provider - I was reacting to 911 Service Today - and I have downgraded some of my answers based on their response to my rating and the fact that we ended us totally wasting all of that repair money. Feel free to go ahead and send the refund you were going to offer as a gesture of goodwill - but forgot to offer!
Description of Work: My LG washing machine was filling up and then giving an error code that meant a specific sensor needed replaced. My son did some online research and discovered that the part cost $15. We considered doing the repair on our own, but decided we didn't want to take the chance of ruining the machine. We called Appliance Doctor in Ladson, and they sent out a repairman. We paid a diagnostic fee, and he reported to us that the error message meant that we needed the $15 sensor...that would order the part. A month later, we were still waiting and Appliance Doctor was no longer answering their phones. I was so frustrated! | |I called 911 Service Today, told them my story, and they sent a repairman the next day...on a Saturday!! The repairman was wonderful...very professional. He told us we needed the sensor, and he had one with him. He changed out the part, gave me the old sensor, charged me a diagnostic fee, for the part and labor...a total of about $185. He was at our house for about half an hour. I thought the price was too high, but at least my machine was working again. A few days and four loads of laundry later, it was flashing the same error message. I was soooo frustrated! | |I called in the problem and got an answering machine. I missed the return call...but they left a message telling me they were out of the office for a religious holiday. That was frustrating but certainly reasonable. On Monday, Oct. 6, the repairman came back. He tinkered with the machine for awhile and then started it...and it ran fine. He explained that he didn't really know why it had stopped again...but thought maybe the problem had been the wiring harness...so we might have to pay for a new wiring harness if the problem came up again. He left...and the machine was working. | |The next day, I got a call from 911 giving me an estimate on the cost of a new wiring harness. They said they still had the old sensor and would be happy to come put it back in the machine and then replace the wiring harness...new cost almost $200. I told the caller they did NOT have the original sensor...the repairman had given it to me and I had thrown it away. I also made it clear that I was not going to put another $200 into an old machine...that would have brought the total of all of the repairs close to the cost of a new machine...and I would have literally thrown away most of that since they wanted to put an old sensor back in - but weren't refunding what it cost to put the new one in. | |A few hours later, I got a text message asking me to call because they had "better" deal for me. |The office manager tried to get me to call her for over a week...she was very friendly, supportive, and professional...but nothing about the whole experience felt right after they offered to return an old part I knew they no longer had...and I was totally burned out on the problems this old machine had. I resolved to just replace it if I got another error message. | |The machine is still working, fortunately...and I truly respect and appreciate the staff of 911 with whom I interacted...and yet I am still uncomfortable with the whole transaction...something just wasn't right. To be fair, I am sure my experience was colored by the previous problems with Appliance Doctor...but 911 WAS really expensive...and clearly did missed the mark with my repair experience. I think next time I will try out another of Angie's highly rated repair specialists. |

I had looked online. Very often retrieving metal that comes off of clothing can lead to hundreds of dollars in repairs. We called the right company.

Would have been nice if some of the service call was credited vs the work, but did give a $10 service discount for a 3 can food donation to charity.
