In 1958, when Leo and Virginia Sloan entered the appliance service business, they set out to provide the best service in their market. Over the years, the name “Sloan Appliance Service” has become synonymous with quality. Today, Sloan Appliance has grown to twenty employees and is more successful than ever. We’re the largest independent appliance service company in the Midlands. We are also the exclusive repair and parts resource for premium brand of appliances, such as Viking, Bosch, Sub Zero, Uline, Thermador, Wolf, and Five Star. Other companies will not service many of these brands. All technicians are certified by the manufacturer and Sloan Appliance has access to technical assistance direct from the factory. Our labor warranty is 30 days from repair date and our warranty for parts is 1 year. No other service provider in the Midlands can offer this. Description of Work: Old microwave quit working. They installed a new fuse and it's working fine. Most of the cost was for a "call out". A lot for a fuse, but we didn't have to buy a new built-in microwave!

Description of Work: I have a Kitchen Aid Ice maker that started making a strange noise. Unfortunately I am on my 4th visit and it is not fixed because they started in one spot and worked their way to where we hope is the final spot. What I have been impressed with is their professionalism and communication. They set an appoint range of a few hours like everybody else, but they have a system that when the tech finishes his previous appt I get a phone call saying so. I don't work far from the house so I can just run over when I get that call. Regardless of if the machine gets fixed this time I will use them again and recommend them.

Description of Work: The service man took the front off the dishwasher and told me it needed a new control panel. He quoted a price and a time when he thought it would be delivered. Said I would not have to pay more. The date when the part was supposed to come in was pushed back and so I ordered the part myself, got it here overnight and installed it myself. I think Sloan misrepresented how long it would take to get the part in.

I would first like to thank the member for the honest review. We use all feedback and attempt to continuously improve our level of service. I have reviewed our records and see we provided pricing to the member on the control board and the control panel on his call on November 10. The member was advised at this time of the factory backorder situation on the control board. The member decided that we should book a service call to verify his diagnosis of the problem with his dishwasher. This service call was completed on November 16 in which the diagnosis revealed the need for a console and control board. These parts were then ordered on this date. On November 23, we advised the member that we had been notified that the control board was still on factory backorder. We committed to notifying the customer of any update to this situation. At no time did Sloan Appliance misrepresent the availability of this part. The member then notified us on December 2 that he had ordered the part himself and had completed the repair himself. It is true that parts are available from sources other than manufacturer approved sources. However, Sloan Appliance provides a one-year warranty on all parts installed in repairs and we do not install parts other than provided by the manufacturer. I deeply regret that we could not receive the part in a timely fashion from the manufacturer to complete the repair of your dishwasher. I hope that you recognize our commitment to customer satisfaction and will choose Sloan Appliance the next time you are in need of service on any of your household appliances. They were on time but I was a bit dismayed that I spent $175 for about 35 minutes of work and a $15 part. That includes a $75 service fee (what you pay just to get them to the house) that is non-refundable. Not sure that I would spend that kind of money for them again.

William Jones was the technician and did an outstanding job on fixing it. He was professional and polite. He's an asset to the company.
