Service technician Frank quickly identified the problem, had the right repair part on his truck, and completed the repair in about an hour. He showed me the failed part and explained the issue and how the new part was redesigned to prevent a future failure. The work area was left neat and clean and the refrigerator put back together completely. No sign of tool marks or dirt smears. Frank was friendly and professional. He started the visit by introducing himself. He then listened fully to my description of the issue, identified the problem, and got straight to work.

On the second day, after several more calls and messages left. The owner called the tenant back and was told their was a mistake on the part price . Your total bill is now 215.00. Not $277 has previously paid. They asked to please correct Angie's List , so I have raised them from a F to a C. Still would never use them again after there customer service was so poor and price way to high. Thanks Angie...!!!

Said $89 for service call would be deducted from repair. They spent 10 more minutes plugging it in . then called Boss to ask how much to charge. only tenants wife was home THEY GAVE us a BILL FROM THE MOON... $277 ... CRAZY!!!!!. The part on line cost $26 plus shipping $10... I tried to call them they keep hanging up on me . I would not use these people again !!!!!!!!! I have attempted several times to reach Fred Holdbrook , Owner and Manager and he will not call me back.

first day, even though I had given all the information on the dryer (make, model, serial number) and told them the heating element was not working the technician showed up with no heating element so we had to reschedule for another day. I had to change my work and errand schedule again.... tech showed up and fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. total charge 247.00 so I researched it on the internet and found out the part costs 60 bucks....WOW! I also watched the installation video and figured out I could have done that in 10 minutes also. the dryer works fine - that is the bottom line. also they would not honor my angie's list coupon and I had to donate 3 canned goods to get the 10 dollar discount!!!! BAH HUMBUG!!!!

Replaced garbage disposal. I originally requested to have both the garbage disposal replaced and the dish washer fixed. Sloane allowed me to buy the disposal myself to save some money. The technician looked at the dishwasher and noticed that it was extremely old. He advised that I could have him diagnose and fix it, but due to the age it's likely it will break down again shortly. The money would be better spent on a new one. I plan to have Sloane install the new one when I order it.

Scheduling was convenient although required two day delay. Good communication and confirmation of appointment. Technician arrived early in time frame given and was neat and professional. Seemed fully competent and qualified. Work completed efficiently. Part ordered and replaced when available (3 business days but over weekend. Sloan did call with opportunity for earlier appointment but did not receive message in time (my fault)/ No complaints or concerns Would recomment without reservation and would gladly use again. Thought price was reasonable and did not seem inflated.

My experience with them has been great. They were super. They came in and quoted a rate and stayed to it; it was $65 for them to row out here and $45 for an hour but they did the work within an hour. It was typically washers and dryers and they had to go out and get the parts for which I did not get charged. They fixed it and they informed me that if they do go over an hour then they would not be charging me for that extra hour. They were very reasonable and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions as well. Their prices were extremely reasonable. They do strictly appliance repair; they don’t sell. They repair appliances of almost every brand.

Description of Work: Our washer (only three yrs old) was leaking. He could not find anything wrong. He left and said make another appointment if it leaks again. It did leak again with my first load. This time he wanted me to put a load in before he arrived so he could see the leak and where it came from. He found it was a hose leaking. He said the part would have to be ordered and they would call me and schedule once the part came in. A week later he returned and put the new hose on. I did a load after he left and it leaked once again although not as bad. I called and complained and I was told the manager would call me back and I have never received that call to this day. We will never use Sloan again.

I sincerely apologize for the fact that the technician did not discover a leak in your washer on his first visit to your home. Although this doesn’t happen often, intermittent water leaks are, on rare occasions, very difficult to diagnose. I realize how frustrating this can be to you as well as the technician. Apparently, replacing the water hose did not adequately repair the leak. Again, my apologies for the manager not returning your phone call afterward. As a result of this, corrective measures have been put in place to ensure phone messages are returned in a timely matter. I do see that we had scheduled another visit to try to determine the source of this leak and that this call was later canceled by the Member. This is unfortunate as, per Sloan Appliance standard procedure; this repair would have been completed at no charge to the Member. As a result of Member’s frustration with Sloan Appliance and our inability to compete this repair, I would like to offer the Member a free service/diagnosis (value of $85) on his next appliance repair, if he so chooses.

Awesome experience. Highly recommend. I researched the issue on-line and had a good iea what the problem was (and what the cost should be.) Initial diagnistic visit was prompt and courteous. Problem was diagnosed in just a few minutes, part was ordered from a laptop on the spot. No Service charge at initial visit - deferred until the service man could return to complete the fix. Return visit was prompt and courteous. Repiar was completed timely. Billing was clean and as expected (no surprises!) Nobody likes making a large repair. Worse is the fear of getting taken advantage of. I felt extremely comfortable with Sloan through the entire process and am highly recommending them to others.

Other than two months that it took to get parts to repair our ice maker, they have always done competent and timely work. In one instance, the cost of the replacement parts turned out to be several times the estimated cost, but they honored the original estimate and absorbed the additional cost.
Description of Work: The cost listed above represents the total we've spent with Sloan over the last two years. As the only authorized service center in the Columbia metro area tor Viking appliances, we've used Sloan to repair our Viking range twice and refurbish our Viking ice maker. They are always punctual and professional. They do good work and stand by it, and honor their estimates, even when the estimate comes in far under the final cost of the job. That said, they do charge top dollar. But given that they are the only game in town, we don't have much choice.It would be nice if Viking made more reliable appliances, but that's another story.

They have a service call of almost $90. This is a bit excessive considering they won't give you credit for the service charge if you have the perform the repair. I have dealt with other companies in the past and this was normal procedure.

Several instances, nothing remarkable to tell. I've found Sloan's personnel to be personable, professional and knowledgeable and am glad to recommend their services.
Description of Work: I've called on Sloan Appliance numerous times over at least 10 years for repairs on a washer, a dryer, a refrigerator, and an ice maker. Except for the ice maker (5-year-old Scotsman stand-alone undercounter), each appliance was diagnosed and repaired quickly and at reasonable cost. As for the ice maker; Sloan's has worked on it several times, with temporary good results; but I've come to believe the appliance itself is temperamental and not worth continuing to put money into it.

I took my Kitchen Aide dishwasher to Sloan Appliance and asked that they perform diagnostic test on the dishwasher and let me know what needs to be repaired. I received a call back over a week later and was told that I needed a new latch and striker assembly and a new valve and that parts and labor would be $227.00 ( already paid $50 service fee). Picked up dishwasher and installed into my house after Sloan said they finished the repairs. Door on dishwasher would not stay closed. I requested a service call from Sloan Appliance and was told that the parts were under a one year warranty but would have to pay a $35 service fee because a technician was making an outside service call. They did not confirm a time or date (never would even on the 4th service call). The evening before the service call, I received an automated telephone call saying that a technician would arrive the next day and gave a three hour window. That technician said that a new latch needs to be ordered and that the technician in the shop did not replace old screws and even left screws out of the door and he would order new screws. To make a long story somewhat short, I am no waiting on the 4th outside service call (12 total hours of waiting between the 4 service calls), not counting the time in the shop, waiting on a service technician that Aaron, service manager, insured me last week (after I called him) would be here at 9:00am. Apparently, the wrong striker was installed and they ordered a new one along with the screws that were supposed to be replaced the first visit in shop (why did it take 3 tech visits to diagnose this??)Never once has a manager/owner attempted to contact me about my problem. I just got off the phone with Sloan Appliance and Aaron is not available and they cannot get in touch with their technician. Technician arrived who was very professional and replaced latch but noticed that the heating element is bad. Something they should have noticed in initial inspection. I called the owner of company n he is going to send another tech out to install a heating element for free. However, now the dishwasher is leaking from around the door and I still DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE CORRECT SCREWS THEY WERE INITIALLY SUPPOSED TO REPLACE. UPDATE 6/01/13 Screws started coming out of the door and could not open dishwasher without door coming apart. Had another repair service come out and found that the screws Sloan appliance installed were not the right screws AND on the inside of the door, 2 screw were still missing. So all an all its been over 3 months and I am still fighting this dishwasher because of Sloan Appliance.

I apologize for the original misdiagnosis of the member’s dishwasher on the repair made in our shop. The technician involved has undergone re-training to ensure this never recurs. This simply is not the way Sloan Appliance does business. To address the member’s concerns over time scheduling procedures, we always confirm the date of the call when an appointment is schedule. We do not confirm the exact time of the appointment as routes are seldom full and exact times cannot be scheduled due to not knowing in advance the exact length of each call. For this reason we schedule in 3 hour time windows. While I in no way repay the member’s lost time, it should be noted that the member received in excess of $350 in parts at no charge due to this error. When errors such as this are made, at the end of the day, we make every effort to ensure that the customer is satisfied with our service.

Description of Work: Very knowledgeable. Second company we called to work on problem with our 5 year old Electrolux refrigerator. This company got it right in seconds!
