Per my email conversation today with Mrs. Foreman, I did not receive an email or a phone call, but what I figured out was that the message must have got left on another persons voicemail and they didn't give her the courtesy of calling her back and letting her know she had the wrong phone number. As my voicemail records show the only two call I received from her was on 2-6-12 & 2-7-12. As for the email, it was entered wrong and went to someone else per the email I saw with the quote she attached to the email today. Would I give the Foreman's another chance if another job came up in the future, YES I WOULD! It was a total misunderstanding and all I wanted was a call or email, the Foreman's did respond back once they were able to contact me via Angie's List. I retract my F and would give them an A for their efforts.

Don't-ask him or anyone else to do an estimate after work hours. This is where mistakes in estimating the amount of tile/bull nose tile needed were made. I think he was in a hurry to get it done and leave that evening. As a nurse it is difficult for me to get off work for anything other than illness and vacation planned. My supervisor is very strict because as many places we are always short staffed. But next time I need an estimate in my house I will just insist to be off during working hours. The estimate of tile needed was off because I needed 100 sq ft of tile, and only had purchased 96sqft. Still it would have made me purchase 108sqft, that's my fault. However, the bull nose estimate was wrong, and I had to re order twice, along with one time I had to reorder the rustic white tile. I did ask before the work started twice through email to his wife, Deb, could he come back to discuss tile some more. I was put off from his wife, who said he didn't need to do that. For him or any other contractor, pick out your tile before he even comes over, purchase a piece of bull nose tile if you can. The bull nose is very expensive compared to the tile cost. There was another thing which had to do with the pedestal sink of which I was told by her he would discuss w/me. I am like all of us, busy going all the time between work and home and forgot to ask him until the last day. Had I not remembered to ask him, he would have had to do it all over. My point is I understand his wife is necessary to shield/filter daily questions to him, but there comes a point that he and the customer need to talk for all those little details you have as the work goes along. The work he and his workers did was top notch. The painting was excellent. But you have to insist on them using a separate primer. this is what you want, not one in the paint only. There is only one area I am disappointed in. The BR closet door. Initially I thought it looked great. However, during the work, I noticed this unpainted door he had already put in place as we discussed. We were leaving the door solid, cut down the middle w/drawers pull on both sides. You then open the door as half a door-two each. This provides more room in the BR rather than using a full door to pull out from BR closet. The workers and he kept telling me this was just for an estimate of what he would need to cut a door to size. You see there was a big hole in the wood where traditionally a regular door knob would go to open a full door. I did not realize it until weeks after they left, they had kept that same door I was told which was there just for sizing. The problem is they apparently took the round hole of wood, stuck it back in, sealed it or something so it would stay and painted over it. This irks me. It's a typical contractor trick. He already has the door prior to your job, your estimate supposedly includes a new door, and he uses this one. Had he discussed it w/me I would have either said-well okay, but flip it to where that hole piece is in the corner part of the wall-where no one will notice it much or get me a new door like we discussed. As it is you can see the outline of the hole which is painted over. They clean well. The workers are very courteous. I would use him again. He is licensed and bonded, you can look him up on the SC Laobr/Licensing. This to me is important. I don't want who is the cheapest, I want who is good, fair and not to pay if his workers gets hurt.
Description of Work: 2nd bathroom in our 2 BR house. Money spent w/Mike does not include paint, tiles, commode, bathroom accessories, door stain/sealant, I bought that. . He did give me an original estimate to include the cost of the tile. However, I was allowed $1.75/sq ft for tile. I could not find any tile for the floor or the tub surround, wall surround to match that price @ Lowe's or anywhere for that matter. I purchased approx 160 sq ft of tile plus bull nose tile for total of $680. I also purchased shower rod, trash can, medicine cabinet, closet pull knobs, flat tile pieces that go into shower corners to hold soap, shampoo, etc 2 of them. I purchased the light fixture and bathroom fan/light, electrical outlet covers. I estimate that my total purchases $1100. This includes a high dollar commode at Lowe's about $260. Mike's purchases include the sheetrock, durarock for the laying of the tile, 2 doors, pedestal sink, bathroom fixtures-shower head, tub fixture, sink fixture, thermopane window-one, insulation, all trim, insulation, replacemant wood where needed. Labor of couse is included in his price. Also he tore out and replaced the one window that was in the BR w/a thermopane window. They tore out all the walls, ceiling. Replaced, added a grounded electrical outlet.Improved the electrical outlet for the BR fan/light. Tiled the tub surround up above the shower fixture (as I wanted) the walls from floor to window and all the way around. Tiled the floor through the closet floor. They painted all surfaces, replaced trim where needed and painted. Installed sink, commode, plumbing fixtures. Installed BR closet door/drawer pulls, shower rod, towel rack-hand and regula rack. Toilet tissue holder and rober holder on back of door. He also stained a new door that goes from the BR to the den. They did do a great job. I don't think I left anything out.

Our experience with Mike and Deb was very professional. We felt very comfortable having them in our house and they always left it clean. The tile work was impeccable and the workmanship was very professional. They always showed up on time and his workers were excellent. I will hire him for any additional work that we need done on our house.
Description of Work: Had Mike &Deb give us an estimate to remodel bathroom that was only five years old but, was very poorly designed. They responded quickly and their expertise was excellent. Mike gutted most of the bathroom, totally rebuilding the shower and tiling it. He also moved the sinks and toliets and tiled around the bathtub. He retiled the entire floor. He and his employees did all the plumbing and electrical work.

He and his wife came out and gave me an estimate. Their estimate was about $2000 more than the company that I chose to use. There was a question about how much time they would take to take off the wallpaper so there was an additional $1500 if the wallpaper was going to be an issue. The total amount was about $13500 without the paint. They were very professional. They were a couple of times where they had issues around the time that they were going to meet us. They communicated the time because they had changed the time of the appointment. When both were fine, they showed up when they were supposed to. There were no issues about the integrity or the quality. I would consider them again for a quote in the future.

Mike and his wife, Deb, came out and gave me an estimate. It was the best price out of the three estimates I received. We scheduled the start date. Mike and his crew were on-time daily, and were very conscientious of my home; kept the carpet covered, cleaned and swept their work and traffic areas before leaving daily, never played loud music (as most contractors I've used in the past), and I never felt uncomfortable having he and his workers in my home. His work ethic was fabulous, communication with Mike and his wife, Deb was excellent, but most importantly, the craftsmanship of the work was great. I am particular about doing a job well and expect those I hire to meet that criteria. Mike and his crew did just that. I give them my highest rating and am only a little hesitate about doing so, because I would like to hire him again soon and I know his calendar will be filling fast when Midlands residents realize what a great contractor he is.
Description of Work: Mike and his crew remodeled my son's bathroom which included opening up the small shower stall, retiling the shower and bathroom floor, replacing the shower light, replacing the fan, installing vanity lights, installing a medicine cabinet, sink and toilet, repairing and painting walls, repainting the ceiling, and adding crown molding and baseboards.

MIKE AND HIS WIFE WERE VERY PROMPT IN CONTACTING ME AFTER I LEFT THEM AN E-MAIL. GAVE US AN ESTIMATE WITH-IN A FEW DAYS. HE AND HIS CREW WORKED WITH OUR SCHEDULE, SHOWED UP FOR WORK ON TIME AND READY TO WORK. COMPLETED THE WORK PROMPTLY, PROFESSIONALLY, FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUSLY. WHEN HE CAME BACK TO INSPECT THE WORK HE EVEN HELPED MY HUSBAND MOVE SOME OF THE LARGER PIECES OF FURNITURE THAT I COULDN'T MANAGE. AT EVERY STEP OF THE INSTILLATION THEY GUYS CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MIKE FOREMAN AND HE WOULD BE THE FIRST PERSON I WOULD CALL IN THE FUTURE.

We contacted Deb and Mike thru Angies's List and they came out to do an estimate within days. We were completing a new addition to our house so we were waiting for that to be done before he could tile the new space. After our work was completed, we contacted Mike to schedule the tiling. He was busy on a number of other jobs (he is in high demand for good reason!!) so we waited a couple of weeks to be put on his schedule. He came out to perform the work as promised and he worked straight thru on our project only. He does not go from job to job so you can expect to have your work done quickly. His crew was tidy, professional and focused only on job completion. They worked morning to afternoon with a quick lunch break and always cleaned up beforedeparting for the evening. This may sound petty but for me, it was very important and just further shows Mike's level of professionalism!
Description of Work: Mike tiled a new room addition (14 X 10), a smalled 5 X 4 area as well as 2 bathroom shower stalls. He also tore out old cabinets and built new shelving for one of the baths. Deb and Mike are very responsive in all aspects of completing the job. Mike came to our home 2 separate times to complete the estimate as we added other tasks to the original request. He was always on time, professional and completed all the work within 5 days. We would defintely hire him again!

I found both Mike and Deb very nice to work with and very responsive. They called me right back and then we moved to communicating through email which was much easier for me. They mailed me the contract with pricing which I was able to sign and return via email. I also received my invoice through email.
Description of Work: I had some pretty simple (well simple for some) things that needed to be done at a house I maintain in Columbia SC. I had called another company and never received a call back. Mike went by the house and provided me with an estimate of how much the tasks would cost. I was told what to expect as far as how long it would be before the work could be performed. I also received the estimate and invoice in writing. Here is a list of the work I had done: Installed of a new vanity in a bathroom (had to remove the old one). Removed glass shower doors in a bathroom and recaulk/resealed bathtub and sink area Repaired paneling over fireplace which had buckled from water damage Replaced screen on a large back porch Removed some mirrors on a wall.

I love working with Mike. He is hard -working, dependable, knowledgeable and stands behind his quality workmanship and that of any of his workers or sub-contractors. My new garage looks like it has always been a part of this house. Mike knew exactly what I was looking for and attended to details I didn't even think about. He is easy to get ahold of, always returns calls and even if he can't get to the phone will have his wife Deb communicate his schedule or plans for the week(love her too). I have used him previously to renovate and expand my master bath. I love it...love it...even 1 year later. I wouldn't consider using any other contractor for my home improvement projects.
Description of Work: Carport conversion to garage + interior work( vinyl siding, windows and stone facade added). Included Auto Garage door opener, side door entrance, extra concrete sidewalk. Lighting and work bench too. Mud entrance into house(5'x19')enclosed with wood vinyl planking, doors and closets added to existing interior room. Mike and his crew showed up every day with a work plan for that day. They covered my carpet and got to work. They were courteous and helpful. Mike went out of his way to match my plumbing fixtures and did some extra tile work when we had tile left over from the shower. At the end of each day, they picked up the plastic, vacuumed, and even swept the sawdust from my carport. This is how a remodeling job should be done!!! We would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Installed handicap shower and whirlpool tub. Also did some carpentry work to install pocket door, half wall, and replace drywall with moisture resistant drywall. Replaced all trim and moulding. Did all plumbing and electrical work necessary. Replaced bathroom faucets and toilets and installed light/fan/heater unit in ceiling. Removed two small windows and added one new window. Repaired vinyl siding where windows were.

It was a very smooth process. I called on a Friday, and got a return call the same day. Mike and Deb came out to the house on the next day, Saturday, to give us an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable, and they worked with us to schedule a time for the actual work. Mike was prompt and efficient on the service, and we were extremely pleased with the results. I would absolutely recommend Mike Foreman to everyone!

Mike came out and took out the ceramic tiles in the wooden floor and removed the entire frame around my gas fire place. He then did the laying of the tiles in the hearth, the colums and mantel around the fireplace. It took him less than a day combined (he had to leave so that it would set and hold it's sear while grount and adhesiveses would dry and wow oh wow oh wow! I'm attaching photos of what my fireplace looked like before he took it down and what it looks like after he put the new framing up! Thanks so much Mike! This guy is a true GEM! His staff is is courtesy, professional and he gets the job done! He goes out of his way to ensure that everything is done right the first time!
Description of Work: What a difference my mantel has made...and What a difference that Mike has made! In my living room, I had a standard wooden frame around my gas fireplace that my dog started to chew. I decided that I wanted to update the fireplace with giving it a dramatic look and update, while making sure that my dog wouldn't chew on it any more. I ordered the fireplace off of line based upon the deminison ths that Mike came out and measured for me....and what a difference.

Mike gave us three estimates. The first for all of the ideas we had for our house, the second for some ideas that he had (great ideas by the way) and the the third for our floors- the work we actually ended up doing. Mike's schedule was pretty packed so it took him a while to get to our work, longer than we had expected. That is my only complaint. Personally, we're pretty flexible people when it comes to schedules. So this wasn't a big problem for us. If you're a stickler for time and schedules, Mike not be the best fit for you. However, once Mike and his guys got started, they were in and out in less than a week. We could not be happier with the work. The floors in our house look amazing! Mike's work was extremely well priced and well done. Also, he is a nice, honest guy. We plan on contacting Mike for more work in the future!

It's been 9 months since the renovation and I'm very satisfied with work done. I bought the major products, while Mike provided the labor and purchased the minor technical products for installation. Mike and his team were great to work with, they were on time and flexible to minor changes I requested either by requirement or just wanted. Mike resolved minor issues as they came up, but kept me informed of significant issues requiring my decision. The latter was very important to me as I do not like when contractors make major decisions for me without any attempt to reach me for my opinion. He also responded quickly on follow-up items requring correction or additional repair after the job. The repairs were done in one follow-up session and no additional follow-ups needed since then.
Description of Work: Renovated the master and hall baths by replacing bath/shower & floor tiles, lights with vents, vanity lights, and tub & sink facets; widen shower entrance in master bathroom; and installed pocket door in master bathroom.

As a disabled female veteran I have to be very careful about who I choose to do work at my house...and Mike and Deb is defiantely the team to do the job! I will use "Deb's Honey" for my "to do list" any day or night of the week! The VA authorized a modification to my masterbath to help me avoid a trip hazard getting into and out of my shower. One contractor abandoned the job after tearing it up, removing all parts indications of a bathroom, including the toilet without a seal over the opening. I had used Mike previously so after authorization from the VA, Mike was out here and getting the job done. I ended up with a beautiful 4' 6" x 4' shower stall as he applied slate tiles to my walls and put up a custom multi-jet shower head. He then laid a beautifult travertine tile on my floor with such perfection. He also installed a light, double sink vanity purchased at a hardware store, but then he built a custom cabinet and finished it to match the vanity purchased at the store with such perfection. He then removed tiles around my jetted tub (the only thing that remained in my bathroom) and repaired the sheetrock wall around it to make it look as if there had been no tile on the wall ever. I compare Mike to the guy on "Holmes on Holmes" on HGTV. Mike took my bathroom from the empty room that was getting filled with toxins from the septic tank into it a beautiful accessable bathroom not only that I could use without trippping and falling, but as someone said, "made a spectacular bathroom in an unexpected home". While the VA did pay for the majority of the work to accomodate my disability, I did request some extra work to modify the entire bathroom that wasn't required by the VA, but made it completely renovated. Mike is definately my guy to do any work around my house...my next project that I'm saving up for is for a back deck with a pergola and I already have my estimates for it and I defiantely can't wait until I have the money set aside to do the work because the only one that I will have to do the work is Mike Foreman!
Description of Work: Prepared the subflooring for travertine tile, laid the travertine floor tile, preped and installed a slate custom shower stall, replaced light fixture, made a custom linen closet to match pre purchased vanity.

My house was under contract to sell and I needed to replace a garage window where the seal had broken. When I removed the cobwebs, blinds, and stuff in front of it I found that termites had eaten the window sill and the bottom corners of both adjoining windows. I had called another window company but after several visits, they could not promise the new windows by my closing date. I only had less than 3 weeks until closing. So I found Mike on Angies' list and called him and explained my dilemma. I believe he came out the following day to check my windows. He arrived on time and measured the windows and we discussed the damage and how he could repair it. He needed to call his supplier to see if he could get the windows in time. The good news was that they could so I ordered them. While they were on order, Mike came a separate time to repair the termite-eaten wood in the window frame and the sill. The windows came in earlier than expected and Mike called me to see if he could install them that Friday afternoon/evening instead of waiting until Monday. The windows fit and looked great and arrived well before my closing date. Mike is very personable, professional and very experienced, and I would definately hire him again to do any kind of home repair.
Description of Work: Mike repaired termite damaged wood on the bottom of the window jambs and the window sill. He also installed two replacement windows in a large double window unit, saving me from having to replace the entire window unit.

Mike had come out to give the estimate along with his wife. They looked around and told us that they would get back to us within a week. Because I have had previous excellent service and experience from Mike and his crew, I knew exactly who I would use when it came time for me to install two new door entry systems. A day or so after I did a special order on my doors, my dishwasher died and I asked Mike if he could install it at the same time that he put in the doors and it wasn't a problem at all. Mike even came out when it was raining, put up some plastic covering to protect my property while they were putting up the back frenc doors and he did an awesome job! Unlike oter contrators who wouldn't show up or fail to call, he (or his wife) will keep in contact with you call and/or email if there is a change in advance...and if they can show up a day or two early, they will do it, but only if it's convienent for you. If I had used the contractors of where I purchased teh items, it would have cost me approximately $1,100 However, Mike charged me only $480.00 AND he picked up the items from the store and didn't charge me anythign extra for doing this! In addition, he went to change out all of my locks and handles, he rekeyed all of my new locks so that I would keep my single key entry to my house AND he rtransferred the alarms and motion detectors from the old doors and put them on the new doors and made sure that there wasn't any errors on the panel and confirmed that the security system was up and running again. Mike and his team of professionals have done several jobs for me and I would recommend him to anyone. They are honest, hard working, respectful and punctual...and it's a great feeling to know that this group of professionals have the work values and ethics that they have and you know that they did a job well done with them!
Description of Work: Mike and Jerry removed my back door with had a 'fake" double entry with only one side moving and replaced it with a French Door System. He also removed my front door and replaced the door with a new one. Rekeyed all of my locks to make sure that I would have single key entry system. In addition, he removed a dishwasher htat died and replaced it with a brand new one.

This is a great contractor and willing to look out for the needs of his customers. Before the start of the job, I met Mike and his wife and the local Lowes to pick up the extra supplies that I wasn't sure that I needed (I was to pay for all the supplies and the quote he gave me was for labor). So we went in and Mike selected the items he preferred and even asked for a price matching with a competitor for a lower price. Mike and his crew came in and started to work immediately. What I anticipated being a week's worth of work took about 3 days to do. He came in and started getting everything under control and out of the way. Because of some of the tools he was using he did what he could to to limit the dust flying around by closing off and blocking the dust from leaving the bathroom area and placed a protector on my carpet. He pulled out the fiberglass tub, the old vaniety, toilet which I reused and then put in the tub that I purchased and laid the travertine tile on the floor and then did the certamic up the walls of the shower and put a border on. When it came time to put my new vanity in, he suggested a location that would be great, and then went and moved my light (which wasn't part of the contract) to hang directly over the vanity and medicine cabinet that he put on. Most contractors would have left it, but he moved it,repaird the walls, and then found my paint that matched the walls and painted over it without even being asked to do any of it. Then after he put everything back in and put my my casing around the floors and pulled some white paint from his truck and painted them, again not part of the contract and out of the way...what a guy). Between the contract and him coming out a housing inspector indicated that I had some thign falling off of my roof, and I was going to pay for him to do it, he went out and saw what is was and fixed it and told me that it shouldn't fall off, he told me exactly what it was and that if ti did fall down he would take care of it. This guys is a real gem a diamond to go on. Even after he left and I have some estimates for some other work, the Veterans Administration ordered another contractor to come out and renovate my master bathroom, boy, let me tell you I emailed Mike and asked him to come out to make sure they were doing it correctly, and he did and confirmed something that I thought and then a couple other things.....I wish the VA was having Mike do my job, if your looking for a contractor doing VA work, get him, he's wonderful...goes out of his way and simple things to make the job complete and professional. This guy is one professional, he shows up when he says he will be there, if there is anything else that is above what needs to be done he will be there. His prices are unbelieveable reasonalbe and a great guy to just have around. When your on disability and have the medical conditions I have, you need someone you can trust this is the guy....I plan on bringing him back to do extra work for me!
