Description of Work: In 2014 I had Moonworks install Gutter Helmet front & Back of House; Installed heat trace in the Front, but not the back; salesman assured me that I would not need to be concerned with ice damning in the back because of shading; Since installed I have had icicles in the back I never had before and in the winter of 2015 I had ice damming in the back and water leaking into my home. I have tried to explain that before installation of helmet I didn't have icicles and that even rain by-passes the gutter. I provided photos to no avail. They sent a service person and he adjusted several sections and even installed a diverter at the left rear corner of my roof to help divert water towards the gutter. This has mad things worse. The icicles at that area are bigger; I have suffered water damage inside my home. Their response is that I need to install heat trace in the back. This option is expensive and they haven't even attempted to offer any type of discount to help offset the cost since their salesman said I wouldn't need it since I never had problems with icicles in the 39 years I have owned the home at that time. System is expensive to operate and requires an electrician to connect to power from service panel. Circuit availability should be confirmed at time of sale to confirm ability to power up and before installation. Because of being from RI, they will charge to inspect complaint and unless work is performed.

Description of Work: The job estimator showed up an hour early. I said I'd be home by the agreed upon time. He said he could look at the job and provide a quote. For a 13 foot heated gutter system he verbally quoted me "at least $6000". It's a relatively small part of the house that accumulates the snow and when I said wow that's a lot he replied "it is what it is". I did NOT use their service and would not recommend.

+ -1 moreIt was fine. It was fast, efficient and well done. It is great. My husband checked out all the gutter guard type of companies and said this one was the best so that is what he went with. He is an engineer so he works with that stuff.

+ -1 moreThere was some trouble getting the work scheduled and done because of the time of year. We signed up for it relatively late. The original installation was supposed to be around the entire house. They couldn?t do the shady side of the house because it was frozen. They came back and finished on a warmer day. There was a little frustration because it was not done on the original day. It was little troublesome getting in touch with someone who could schedule for us. It was a cumbersome project.

+ -1 moreFollow-Up to the original comments above: Gutter Helmet did get back to me promptly after our comments (above) in Angie's List. They installed perforated metal covers on the Gutter Helmet on the front roof to deal with the runoff. Both the person who called us back and the installer who put in the perforated metal covers were very professional. The installation of the perforated metal covers was done very nicely. Their follow-up definitely improved my opinion of Gutter Helmet.
Description of Work: They installed gutter helmets. So far it is OK. My husband had a follow up question and they haven’t got back in terms of some runoff on the front roof.

+ -1 moreThis project was booked two years ago, but as things turned out I had to postpone it after deciding that some major remodeling was on the horizon -- Gutter Helmet would best fit at the end of it all. After several iterations of my having to postpone, the renovations finally completed and the Gutter Helment people came and did their thing. The people were professional and the work of high quality - and I'm very impressed with how the system performs, though no hard data on the heat portion until winter gets underway. Throughout my postponements as well, the contractor was very helpful and cooperative -- and at the end of it all, they also honored their price from two years ago. I'm a very satisfied Moon Associates customer.
Description of Work: Full installation of the Gutter Helmet gutter leaf sheild system and associated Hidden Heat.

+ -1 moreVery professional throughout. Good quality to materials and installation. Waited a year before writing this to test the gutter guards in heavy rain and snow and ice conditions. Very pleased with the results. The gutters have worked as advertised. Handle rain very well, solved the problem we had, especially in the winter, of heavy icicle formation/icing on stairs leading to the front door, and I no longer need to put up a ladder to clean these gutters.
Description of Work: Removed existing gutters. Installed new gutters along entrance way with gutter helmet covers and wiring for heat to melt ice and snow. Installed gutter helmets on new dormer.

+ -1 moreThey were fine but it was obviously a sales job. After I agreed to the work, I could not contact the original salesman again I had to contact the company directly. I was a little disappointed I could not talk to him again. They came in quickly after everything was set, which took about a month.
Description of Work: They replaced all the aluminum gutters, which they subbed out. They replaced fascia board. They installed the gutter helmets themselves. It is all working except for one little corner, which isn't important. It has probably helped save the flooding in my basement.

+ -1 moreGentleman came out to give me an estimate and told me to watch the DVD while he walked around the house. Came back before I finished the DVD and I asked if I could hold on to it for another day but was told it was his last one. Wanted to give me the big sales pitch but I was taking care of an elder at the time and told him that I just wanted a rough estimate, as I had no idea if the price would be in the hundreds or thousands. I apologized that he wasted his time and that when I made the initial call and asked that question they told me they do not disclose that due to the competition, but they would send someone down for a no obligation quote. The quote was quite high for my budget and I told him it was out of my reach but thanks anyway, sorry I took up your time (15 minutes) and then I got the pitch. If you buy it today I can give it to you for X amount which was much less money. As I walked him to the car, I noticed he had several DVDs in his vehicle.

Description of Work: ORIGINALLY MET WITH COMPANY REP (KEELEY) JULY 18, 2003. ARRANGED GUTTER HELMUTS. GAVE $350. KEELEY SAID JOB WOULD BE DONE APPROX. 6 WEEKS. NO ONE SHOWED/CALLED. NO ONE RETURNED OUR CALLS. THEY CAME ON SEPT 8 - WHILE WE WERE OUT OF TOWN. GUTTER HELMUTS WERE ADDED BUT DID NOT SEAL THE LEAKS ON THE CORNERS. WE RETURNED HOME, ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THEM. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO TALK WITH SOMEONE BESIDES SCHEDULING, THEY CALLED ME TO COLLECT THE $654 WE OWED THEM. WE SAID WE'D BE HAPPY TO PAY THEM WHEN THEY COMPLETED THE JOB. BACK TO THE SCHEDULING WE WENT. EVENTUALLY, WE AGREED THEY WOULD COME ON A FRIDAY OR MONDAY (I WANTED TO BE THERE). NOW, ANOTHER MONTH LATER, STILL NOT HERE AND YESTERDAY (10/29/2003) THEY LEFT MESSAGE TO SAY THEY WERE COMING ON THURSDAY...3 MONTHS LATER, IT'S BACK TO SCHEDULING I GO....
