About us

Jim Moon started Gutter Helmet of New England in 1993. Gutter Helmet quickly grew and homeowners began asking him to install other products. What started as a gutter protection company, quickly grew into one of New England's premiere home improvement companies, Moonworks Home Improvement. In addition to Gutter Helmet, Moonworks also provides high quality products including; Heated Helmet, Ice Defense, Dr. Energy Saver, and GAF Roofing.

Description of Work: The salesperson misrepresented the availability of the company, withholding a company memo about scheduling until a few days after we signed the contract and made the down payment. After our lawyer got involved, the work got completed in the promised time frame. | |The workmen were outstanding! They were punctual, polite, professional and hardworking.

Description of Work: Initial installment went well, but after we had a new roof put on, GH stated that our lifetime guarantee was nullified because of the new roof. Parts of the Helmut are pulling away and they said it is not their problem. |We even have birds nesting in the gutters! I will try again in the Spring to get results, but we are very disappointed in this company.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with Moonworks. Unfortunately, the warranty was voided when your roofer reinstalled the Gutter Helmet system. This warranty exclusion is stated in the paperwork you received upon purchase. Our records show that your system was installed in March of 2006, and up until this recent occurrence, we have had no requests to service it. We hope that you were satisfied with our product while it was under warranty and could reconsider your negative outlook on Moonworks, as the issues you are now experiencing are more than likely due to the reinstallation by your roofer. We strive for excellent customer service and are sorry we could not be of more help to you.

Description of Work: Our 2 gutters in the back of the house were damaged when a tree fell on them. The salesman from Gutter Helmet said only the top gutter needed replacing, the bottom gutter could be fixed by the crew hammering out the damage & installing the helmet. When the crew showed up they realized the damage on the bottom gutter was too extensive & Jamie (the crew chief)called his boss. They replaced the bottom gutter for free. They did an excellent job, cleaned up completely and explained the issues they had with prior work done on the gutter. The B I gave on the rating is because the salesman estimated the work would be done in 3-5 weeks & it was nine weeks. I would use them again.

Description of Work: The sales person that came to do the estimate was able to provide us with information to make a decision based on what we needed. His suggestions helped us save money instead of purchasing gutters we did not need. |The installers completed the job quickly and aside from stepping on some of my shrubs, they did not leave a mess. Overall a decent experience. Buying gutters isn't really much fun, but at least they made it easy and painless.
