Description of Work: We had recently purchased a new gas dryer but found out that we couldn't turn off the gas due to the switch being stuck, so we couldn't detach the old one or hook up the new one. Jim was our plumber and was able to fit us in within two days of my call. We had a bunch of other minor issues that we wanted him to look at too while he was here. We had to move the washer in order to install the dryer, but couldn't turn the water off. Jim fixed both of the problems and hooked up our new dryer. He also fixed all the other little things that we were having problems with, including a botched job by a previous owner (or someone they hired) to hook up the water line to our refrigerator. The plumbing in our house (which is old), looks like a maze. My husband asked if we should re-plumb any of it. He could have taken advantage of the situation, but he didn't. He just suggested that we leave well enough alone because it's working. He was honest and didn't try to get more work out of us. I thought the price was reasonable for the work performed. We will be calling this company again in the near future to have our boiler serviced. We are very satisfied.

Description of Work: On the morning we were scheduled to have 40+ guests come for a "Welcome Home" backyard cookout for my daughter(at home between overseas assignments in the US Army, we discovered our downstairs bathroom had flooded. We called Riley and although we were not regular customers they had a plumber out in @20 minutes. He determined there was a leaking seal at the base of the toilet, changed it out and did a complete check of the system. We were able to have the party on schedule. A great professional job at reasonable prices and featuring prompt emergency service so we will become regular Riley customers for our future heating and plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Assessed current hot water heater ( 20 years old) Researched options for replacement of oil fired hot water heater Provided 3 separate options for replacing hot water heater only, hot water heater with new motor, and hot water heater connected to heating system. Mike initially came out and assessed our needs. He was very professional and informed. He followed up with very detailed emails on our options. Once we agreed on a plan, he sent out Dave to do the job. Dave was both friendly and professional. The entire job took less than half a day. I would highly recommend William J Riley Plumbing and Heating to anyone looking for an excellent company. Both my wife and I were very satisfied with the work done.

Description of Work: I had a leak from my tub/shower into my downstairs. The plumber arrived on time and completed a thorough test to see what the problem was. Although we couldn't find any fixtures or problems with the tub the plumber tried to rule out a variety of variables before it was decided that it was possibly a grout issue. He stayed for an hour and charged only a diagnostic fee. I will call them in the future for any other plumbing concerns as he was extremely pleasant to work with.

 + -1 moreI was instructed to have a house winterized quite late in the fall. I had called other plumbing and heating companies, but when they saw the 20 items which needed to be followed they either put an extreme price on the work or simply said they couldn't do it. I called Riley Plumbing, they looked over the list gave me a price, accommodated my immediacy in having the work done. They winterized the house, left it looking perfect and when I requested that they come the reverse the process, (in the spring) they were cooperative, neat and professional. Upon leaving the house, a pressure valve popped, (not an unexpected occurrence with winterization) spilling water in the furnace room and onto the carpet outside the furnace room. They didn't have a water vac on the truck. To expedite the job, they purchased a water vac; replaced the valve, vacuumed up the water. Again leaving the house just as they found it.
Description of Work: In my business I needed a plumber to winterize a home. Riley Plumbing winterized a very large home, did it in the time alloted and left the house in meticulous condition.
