Rob originally came out to assist us with a different house that we were looking to purchase. He had the patience to meet us at the new house and do a new design for us. They started working on the kitchen exactly when they said they would and had everything done on time (if not a little early!). Rob had excellent communication with us and was always happy to answer any questions we had. He paid attention to detail and went above and beyond to make sure every thing was done to our satisfaction. We love our new kitchen and can't wait to use it for years to come!

He went above and beyond. Gave me three different design layouts. Cost break down on the one job that we wanted to do. He was very prompt, polite, and professional. Very much considering using him going forward.

He did a great job with the plans and had some good ideas for the renovation. We didn't go ahead with the renovation (a septic problem popped up shortly after and hijacked our budget!). I think this service was a good starting point for getting us to think about renovation options, costs, etc., and worth the price.

I was satisfied with what I got for the price I paid. There were no extra charges beyond the big deal amount. I was not dissatisfied, but I was not terribly happy. It was a lukewarm experience. The guy was nice. He came out and looked at stuff. I'm not sure that I had specified that I'd really like to see the toilet on this side of the bathroom. When I got the plan, the plan had the toilet on the other side. I called him. He gave me a reasonable explanation. He says, "Well, I felt like I could fit more in, such as a double vanity, if I moved it over that side. But I'll redraw a plan and send it to you with it back on the side you want." My thought was , "Well that's okay but you might have called me and said, 'I know this is what you asked for but I'm going to do something different.'" But he did redraw the plan and send it to me. The plan itself is probably worth $56. There was not a $450 value. If I had paid $150 I would have been unhappy. It wasn't a bad experience. It just wasn't a real good experience. The price was good because it was a deal. I got what I paid for.The plan and the diagram itself were a little vague.

I will try to use this contractor in the future. His other reviews were very good.

He came out about two weeks ago and dropped off the plans the other day.

Rob was very responsive and professional in contacting us quickly to make an initial appointment, and after the initial appointment, he provided us with a set of plans within a couple of weeks. We have very limited options with our kitchen, and he was able to come up with some creative ideas to help us manage the space and make the entire area appear more polished. I've been wanting to make some changes with the kitchen for years, and spending $56 for a set of plans and some ideas provided us with an excellent beginning. We are still working with Rob to finalize our plans and will likely proceed with his company for the work.

Update to renovation: our second story renovation looks beautiful! We encountered a few bumps along the way as expected so our final cost was closer $100,000 than the $87,000 estimate. The quality of the work is impeccable and is even better than we'd imagined. Rob did a great job organizing his subs and stands behind his work 100% We will definitely call him in the future if we want to make any more changes to our house.

He did a great job of giving us several designs for a kitchen renovations. He even included an additional design beyond what he promised. He was very punctual and responsive. Would be happy to work with him again.

He did come by and it turned out that what I wanted to do was more expensive than what was covered. He gave me an idea to what I'm going to do with the cost and he wanted to follow-up and come back to do the regular kitchen plan but I just didn't have the time.

Although we decided not to go forward with our project at this time, Rob was very professional, price seemed fair. He came in for analysis and measured and then had plan ready in few weeks (only took that long becuase we pushed off to after the holidays)

Robert contacted us very shortly after we purchased the deal. I was traveling for work and he kept reaching out to try to get in contact which was greatly appreciated. He reached out via phone and email and when I finally got back to him we were able to schedule a time that worked for both of us. We have struggled with our kitchen design for years and were very focused on moving our fridge and taking down a wall. Robert listened to those ideas and then brought up some new ideas we had never considered, like moving all of our appliances - stove, microwave, dishwasher as well as a sink and a window. The end design was fantastic and better than I could have ever imagined. His ideas really added to the new design and while we may tweak a few of them, overall, we could not be happier with the design and the ideas he brought to the table. The drawings were also excellent and gave us a really good idea of what the kitchen could look like. The drawings were provided in the agreed upon time frame and the price he gave us was in the general neighborhood of what w were expecting. We were so happy with this first project that we have already asked him to come in and see if he has any ideas for our basement which we are looking to redo as part of the same renovation project. We could not be happier with the service to this point.

We bought a "Big Deal" for kitchen design and drawings. He contacted us promptly and was very flexible in timing given my work schedule. He met with us and understood what we were looking for in a full redesign of our kitchen. We have struggled with ideas for a redesign for years. He came back with a great design idea that we had never thought if including moving all our appliances and a window which we had not considered. The design and drawings were provided in the agreed upon time and were if the highest quality and like I said had some great new ideas. Proposed price for the actual work is in line with expectations given the level of effort required. We have asked RI Design to come back and design out basement as well. Fantastic service all around.

Robert did a great job. He was a straight shooter, on time, efficient and clean. Also, we felt his prices were very fair. I would recommend him to my mother and my best friend.

Can't get work done right now, but will definitely consider in future.

We met several times to discuss our vision of the project. Robert provided us sound advice and direction. We worked collaboratively on different designs, finally choosing one that included a small addition to the house in order to accomodate our new kitchen. Robert was thoughful and supportive throughout the planning stages. In the end, our vision produced a project that exceeded our budget. Robert was very consultative in helping us understand that we had options, but what we truly wanted was beyond our immediate means. And we didn't want to 'settle' on something less for a 'quick fix'. Whenever we decide to re-evaluate our project, we will certainly reconnect with Robert.

I located RI Design Build through Angie's List and was initially impressed with their timely response. We received multiple quotes from small and large contractors alike, and found Rob's to be not only cheaper but more detailed and inclusive than the others. After our initial meeting we scheduled an appointment with his designer Mark to draw up plans. We were very happy with the layout and found both Mark and Rob to be very easy to work with. We are almost half way through the renovation and are very pleased with the quality of the work done thus far. The crew is very clean, professional and prompt. Throughout the project they have brought to our attention any items that needed addressing, both now and in the future. Throughout the project Rob has been very good about communicating with us what to expect at each point of the job. An important element to our renovation is sticking to the estimated project budget. When overages have occurred (through no fault of the company) Rob has worked with us to keep the costs at a minimum without compromising quality. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the project thus far and cannot wait to see the final result!

Rob and I played phone tag for a while but eventually he made 2 visits to my home and drew up 2 sets of plans for my kitchen. He had many different ideas but stressed that the ultimate decision would be mine.

We have officially signed a contract with Rob to begin remodeling our kitchen starting in March 2014. He has been extremely cooperative with us throughout our entire house buying process. He came to the first house we thought we might purchase and put together an entire design for us only to have us decide that wasn't the one. Then he came out again to the house that we did end up purchasing and went over the details of the first design to see what we liked about it and came up with a new design for our new home. He has accommodated meeting with us after work and trying his best to stay within our budget. He is easy to work with and answers all our questions honestly. Originally we were going to do this work in 2013, however due to unexpected costs with the rest of the home, we pushed it out to 2014. Rob was very understanding and happy to wait for us. I expect that we will have our dream kitchen by the end of April!

He came and discussed my project and was very helpful. We decided I did need their services. He was professional, punctual and responsive to my questions and concerns. However, I did not end up needing his services.

We had a misunderstanding over the date for an initial visit to review the work needed and never met up. I ended up moving forward with my primary project of redoing my tub/shower enclosure myself. Rob was very willing help with whatever future needs I may have and I will keep Ri Design Build Inc. in mind for my future needs. *Update* Our initial misunderstanding was basically Rob not showing up to look at the work I needed done and no call to say he couldn't make it or any attempt to reschedule for weeks after that missed appointment... which prompted me to leave a bad review. As soon as the bad review was left, I of course received a call to 'try and make things right'... I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and he sounded sincere on the phone, so I changed my review to a more favorable one but continued to try and finish the project on my own. A day later I realized the walls in my tub/shower enclosure were done wrong and needed to be redone. I figured, I'd see if Rob would be willing once again to come take a look at things and see what he thought so I emailed him at the address on his website (rob@ridesignbuild.com) explaining the situation... but once again, it's been weeks and I never heard back from him. I kind of expected this and now figure he only made that call to 'make things right' in order to get me to change my bad review. You can decide for yourself what all this means, but at this point I will not be doing business with Ri Design Build Inc. now or in the future. Plus, my tub/shower walls are redone and everything is coming out beautifully. :)

Rob came out to my house on at least two occasions (once in the Fall and again in the Spring) to look at my existing deck and evaluate the possibilities for replacement and expansion. He took my ideas into consideration and delivered a basic plan and elevation drawing, along with an estimate for construction with several options we had discussed. I was not in a hurry initially to complete this plan and my project timing was not urgent. I have not yet decided to move forward on the project, but will definitely consider them when I do.

The kitchen design provided by the vendor is fine.

He came a few times and went through the some designs with us and went through all of our options. He was very professional and we would use him in the future we just haven't taken the next step in the building process.
