Description of Work: Very knowledgeable and said he would start the work after the rains stopped and the chimney dried out. Alas!.Despite 3 phone calls to himr requesting the estimate and the time he intends to start, he has not responded. I want to prepare my house for sale and need to know if I can count on him. His verbal assessment of the price seemed fair and he seemed very experienced.

Description of Work: First of all - James accomodated me and my work schedule by coming on a Saturday. Not many people would do that. He arrived on-time and he went on the roof and inspected the chimney. He then came in and went into the basement and inspected the fireplace and where the gas boiler connected to the chimney. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and answered any questions that I had. The fireplace was in the finished basement - however, I had never used it. I knew the prior owners did -- but I was concerned that it had not been used for the past 10 years (since I bought the house). He even showed me how to open the flue (without hurting my fingers) :) Then he showed me a tip on lighting fireplaces (located in the basement). He also instructed me on how often I should have the chimney cleaned/swept once I start using the fireplace. He was very helpful and I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I kept his information and will not hesitate to contact him again in the future.

Description of Work: Oil company stated I may have a broken flue in the chimney when they clean boiler. Had James inspect it and he did find a broken flue, will have him replace it in the future

Description of Work: Inspected and cleaned the chimney fuel prior to converting to gas.

Description of Work: James was very responsive and professional. Work was exemplary and he was very helpful in helping us understand how best to care for our chimney and boiler.

Description of Work: James cleaned 2 chimneys (removed a fallen brick from one), patched loose bricks in the backs of the chimneys, fixed the improperly-installed damper cable, cleaned 2 ash pits which had not ever been emptied since the house was built in 1902.
