Marshall Building & Remodeling

They have not done this work yet but I have used them in the past also and they are terrific. i signed and mailed the quote months ago and have not heard a word. Very disappointing as they were great a few years ago when I used them last.

We cannot give enough praise to the team that came and worked on our house. Their professionalism was evident in the attention paid to providing a high standard of quality workmanship in each area of the work done. The workers worked in unison and harmony much like a well oiled engine. They were very helpful in explaining and executing their tasks. A dedicated group of fine men that took PRIDE in their work. We would highly recommend Marshall Building to one and all.

The crew arrived early, the dumpster was delivered and they got right to work. The job was scheduled for 1, possibly 2 days. They stayed the whole day Monday and completed everything we agreed on, cleaned up so you would hardly know they had been there. Very polite crew of hardworking guys. Was very pleased with the results. I will be referring this company to a work colleague tomorrow who is looking for a roofing company, and would do so even if there weren't a referral program, which is a nice, added incentive to share information about great, local companies who do great work. Nice touch also is that you get a SASE when they send the bill. OH, I forgot to say ... no money changes hands until the job is done, you reveiw it and are satisfied!!

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Andy Marshall, the son of the owner came to my house to measure the windows and house and showed me my options and gave me a great quote that beat the 2 maim home improvement stores. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The men who installed everything were also very friendly and professional. Highly recommend them for your roofing and window needs.

I had received a few quotes from various companies, all were close but most of the estimates stated this estimate could increase if they found other damages or problems that were not initially found during the initial survey and wanted from 1/3 to 1/2 down. All of the people who came to survey the installation were salesman. Andy, from Marshalls came to my home, provided me with a little history of his company in addition to his personal history in the business and advised me once I was given a price, that was it, the only addition to this price would be the permit fee. He stated it was his job to check everything including any potential defects that could cause a problem with installation so once a price was quoted it would not change. If he missed anything the company would absorb any increases not the customer. His estimate was a little higher than the other quotes ($400) but it was a better grade of window with more features since the window company was offering incentives and I was very impressed with his presentation and honesty in addition to "no money down", payment would be made after installation is completed. He came to my home in the beginning of March 2014 and stated the installation would not be until the end of April or Ist week of May. I signed up and received a letter with the name of person who schedules the job who would contact me to setup the installation date. On Friday, April 28, I decided to contact this person to get an idea of when the installation would be scheduled. He checked his schedule, stated I am at the top of the list, however a job he had scheduled for Monday, April 28 had to be postponed and if I was interested in that date. I stated yes and it was scheduled, I also asked if I should remove the blinds/curtains since the other installers had advised I would have to do that, he stated "no" the installer would take care of everything, unless I wanted to remove something. Thought that was very unique. On Monday, the installer arrived at my home with the windows at 7:30am, installation of all 7 windows were completed by 1 o'clock. The installers name was Bob and he was excellent, he not only installed the windows, removed the blinds and replaced them, he cleaned up after each window installation. Once the installation was completed I was ready to give Bob the check and to my amazement he stated I would be billed by the company, to date I have not received a bill yet, matter of fact I will probably give them a call to see where it is. Thtat is really unique in this day and age. I have a couple of other outside projects and I definitely will be using Marshalls Building to complete them.

One of the big benefits to me with working with Marshall Building and Remodeling is that they had lots of real photos of work they had done. Instead of looking only at little 2" squares of roof, and siding samples, I could also see photos of a very wide variety of completed work. Andy Marshall showed me all the options: what my choice of shingle color would look like with contrasting front, same color front , dark trim, light trim, etc. He also knew the right color roof to choose for the siding color I selected. Andy took the time to explain all the different grades of shingles, all the options for siding in terms of style in addition to color, explained all the work that was included, the order in which the work would get done, and gave me a time frame (about three weeks from our meeting). No money down. No money until the roof and siding were complete. The crew manager called me a few days in advance and the crew showed up as expected. This was a few days before the three week promised date. The crew was very fast and the work looks great. Excellent attention to detail. The shutters get ordered after the work is done and those are currently on order. I was so happy with the excellent job they did, that I ordered a new back door for my garage as well.

During the bid process, Tom made some suggestions that intrigued my husband and I concerning work we needed on our own home. So Tom came out and was very helpful with ways to correct problems we were having with our 5 year old home. Suffice it to say, we hired them and have been very happy with the work done at our own home!

I needed roof, siding, and some windows. Marshall was one of 3 bids but after the first quick meeting with each bidder, it was obvious Marshall was the only one worth considering. They were so impressive, I never followed up on negotiations with the others. Andy Marshall was very knowledgeable and knew what to recommend. He spent enough time reviewing the job to know and describe the work to be done so there were no surprises later on but he did not try to upsell anything or drive the price up. Every worker that came onsite was trust worthy and very good at their job with most being long-time workers for Marshall. I never worried about any worker being at my house with me gone. Every person I dealt with was professional but friendly enough so I felt like I was dealing with friends. The crews worked in some very cold weather and had to clear snow several days in order to work around my house. The job came out great. I recommend completely and I actually have a neighbor that just contracted with them to start a project at her house. She didn't bother calling anyone else after she saw my finished job and knew how satisfied I was. They are very high on my list to recommend to other people I know. I had one small issue that required a follow up and they responded immediately and fixed it. That left me with a great impression because of the way they were still interested in complete customer satisfaction even after my check cleared. Perfect company to deal with.

We were in dire need of new siding on the top two stories of our multi-family. We focused in on a few top-rate contractors on Angie's List and got a few quotes. We decide on Marshall for two reasons: 1) the price was fair and 2) Andy Marshall was upfront, down to business, and didn't engage in any high-pressure sales tactics, nor did he try to over-sell us on services. He was able to balance our need to seal up our siding and increase curb appeal with being more frugal. We had a different contractor come in, inflate the scope of work needed and project cost, and try to scare us into thinking our house was going to fall over. Andy, by contrast, was so much nicer to deal with and didn't leave us feeling like we were getting ripped off. We were very fortunate and Marshall had an immediate opening for our project after another client had to postpone. We signed the contract on a Friday, the crew showed up the following Tuesday, and they were done by Monday at noon. The crew itself was also great and professional. They worked from about 8-4, which was perfect for me since that's when I'm at work. Our house looks so good and it was a great, non-stressful major renovation. (Yes, I said "non-stressful.") We would absolutely use Marshall again if the need arises. Our realtor also came by and was floored. He asked what brand of composite they used and was blown away when I told him it was vinyl Overall, a really positive experience and I would recommend Marshall highly.

The work was done exactly as proposed. The initial meeting with John Marshall went very well; he explained what would be done and even brought a sample of the window they would be installing. The wood around the windows was in rough shape and they did all the repairs needed. John even took stain I had on hand and made certain the wood to be replaced would be treated before bringing it out, and the remaining stain was returned to me the day the windows were installed. I am very happy with the new windows and they were very detailed and professional from the initial meeting right through completion and clean-up. I would definitely use them again as other projects come up. Even though this was a smaller job I felt as though they were very concerned about getting it right for me; I was treated with courtesy and it was a pleasant experience.

May 2013: Workers were neat and the job was finished on time. All work was done on time. Workers were pleasant and clean up was total. A truly great experience.

I was planning on using this company for their services, based on the initial professionalism, but since the first contact, they have dropped the ball completely leaving me wondering if that would have continued throughout the whole process. Maybe things do happen for a reason. If you do ask this company for a quote, you just may have to constantly check in to receive the quote before you get it. I just don't have that kind of time to babysit. Good luck.

Andy Marshall is a pleasure to deal with. Competitively priced. We had used Marshall building for many projects and their crews are awesome. On time, professional and great work man ship.

This is my 2nd project replacing old windows. ( I apologize for not writing a review previously ) Previous project was excellent as this one. One owner showed up to review the process with all details (time schedule: estimate delivery date and time length, process: measuring windows, removal of windows, installing windows: all in a professional, detailed manner ) Crew guy arrived on time as scheduled and finished accordingly. New windows are fantastic: sealed to perfection, even the old interior side molding that held together the old windows were replaced back and sealed against the frame. ( previously, the interior molding on some windows would not be flush against the frame due to age) There was no mess left. One advantage is no deposit is required and the invoice is due upon completion ) One problem: a 2nd floor bathroom window was frosted, but 2 other windows were frosted as well, but the problem was rectified ( the 2 windows were replaced within about 2 weeks ) Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Marshall Building and plan on using them again to replace more windows and other projects if needed.

The crew was professional, courteous and punctual. The entire job was started and completed on time. I could not be happier, and I will definitely use them again.

We investigated a few construction companies and also looked at properties where the companies did their work. We decided to go with Marshall Builders after visiting different properties and viewing the overall workmanship. The workmanship and the products they used are superior. John spoke to us several times before the project started to ensure we were going to get exactly what we wanted. He made us feel comfortable about choosing Marshall Builders and assured us we were going to be happy. Our house went from looking weatherworn and plain to looking brand new with some character. The transformation was unbelievable. The front entrance he created gives the house a warm and inviting look. The sided shingles look great and feel solid. The architectural detail changed the entire house to look like a cozy home. John suggested many small details that enhanced the look of the house. He worked with us throughout the entire project and was responsive to all changes we made while the project was ongoing. The workers were reliable, detailed and professional. They take pride in their work and it shows. When the project was done, we had a few minor items that needed to be fixed/completed. They came over and took care of everything. An attractive part of the process was no payment being due until the job was completed to our satisfaction. We are completely satisfied! We highly recommend Marshall Builders to anyone seeking to have work done on their home.

The experience was a nightmare! The contract stated that the job would be done in 4 weeks. It took all of 13 weeks! Meanwhile the home's occupants had no home and had to move in with family. Marshall used mostly sub contractors - even though they had sold us on the fact that they had "in house" plumbers, carpenters, etc. These subs were not dependable and often worked less than a 4 hour day. The "finish" carpenter told us right out that he was an electrician by trade but was looking for work so he took this job! Marshall was supposed to have a superintendent on site - well that never happened. The Marshall brothers were rude on the phone saying things like "You called to bother me about that! " When the job was complete the work is satisfactory but the toll that it took on our family can never be repaid

The materials arrived the day before the crew arrived. The crew was on time, went to work, worked steadily through the first day. Came back the second day and finished up as promised. the clean up and removal of the old material was fast and efficient. This is the first contractor I've ever heard of who bills the entire amount AFTER the work is completed. I definitely recommend this firm. No wonder they're first on the list!!!

I needed this job done quickly prior to being appraised for a refi on my home. Since this was a small job, I was hoping for a good price from an experienced roofer that could possibly slip me in between larger projects. Mr. Marshall was able to, within just a couple of days come out and give me an estimate. He arrived as scheduled. When I explained how quickly I needed the job done, he was able to contact one of his work crews on the spot and confirm that they could get the job done that weekend (alleluia). At this point I was afraid that this would end up being quite expensive. However, Mr. Marshall's estimate was less only two thirds of the next lowest of four other estimates. His crew arrived a little late on Saturday but they called ahead to explain they had a vehicle breakdown. They nevertheless made sure to complete the job as scheduled, working late and arranging to return to finish picking up the debris on Monday morning. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the shingles, the work, and the professionalism of Mr. Marshall and his entire team. We originally thought the roof was a single roof, but a significant part of it turned out to have two layers of roofing on it. This required extra time and effort by the three person work crew and additional hauling of debris. The extra cost was only $90. I was extremely satisfied with this job and the results.

. Arrived promptly for initial discussion, and subsequently communicated with me regarding start date (weather related in October). He indicated that only his people would be doing the work, they identified and resolved a potential problem. Because I was out of town while the work was being done, I had to trust the company. I was informed by neighbours that the garden and driveway areas were left clear each night. The office staff were extremely pleasant.

Marshall 4 man crew showed up on time as promised. Project took about two weeks. They were professional, neat, cleaned up at end of day. The work included replacement of windows which means taking off inside window trim. Neatly done and replaced all trim with new colonial trim and sill. Vented soffit and all trim wrapped in aluminum. Very precise molded cormers and trim. Overall very happy with the job, and I am a stickler for detail, so hat's off to the team.

Met with John Marshall at the end of April. Work began in July and ended in September. Communication was poor. All in all I am very pleased with the work that was done, but I am glad it is over.

We are going to use them but we are still awaiting material orders and that type of thing. It is a pretty big job. We got 3 quotes. They were all compatible in terms of the quotes. The others were all a little higher than Marshall. They were professional. They sent good reps out and listed what they were going to do. They should be starting within the next couple of weeks. The quote process was one of the better experiences that I've had.

They actually gave us the best price for Harvey windows. The service was excellent. Mr. Marshall came out before, during, and after. We had a couple problems with the windows and they came out immediately to take care of it. I would call them again to do any job for us at our home. They were very nice, service oriented, and had good pricing.
