Chris Jackson was referred to me by my friend who I trust, and after checking out Angie's List and seeing he had good reviews here too, I called him to give me a quote on a project. Chris was excellent to work with. He was prompt in responding to my request for a quote. He was polite, professional, and gave me a detailed quote in writing. Plus he also sent me proof of insurance and his license without me even asking. He scheduled the job at a time that was convenient. He showed up on time with his crew and got right to work. The crew cleaned up my driveway and yard leaving no debris at all. I'm very happy with the work they performed, and am actually going to have them come back to do an additional roof vent in a couple of weeks.

WOW!!! I can't say enough about Chris and his crew! My existing shingles were on their last legs, with many curling up and blowing off in a strong wind. I even had a bad leak back before winter that my bro-in-law fixed, so I knew it was time to put a new roof on. Having never used a contractor before (I've just done most of the work around the house myself, or had a friend/relative help), I was a little apprehensive about trying to find someone to do the roof in the price range I could afford and time I had available; if you talk to a dozen people, you'll have a dozen stories of bad contractors, etc. Since Chris lives close to me, I figured I'd get an estimate from him to do the work (supporting local businesses!). Chris and I met on a Saturday to go over what services he offered, what the day of the job would be like, how long the job would take, and the types of shingles/underlayment he offers. He then emailed me 2 days later with the scope, price, and sequence of work to be done; ariel views of my property that were used to measure the roof; a list of supplies; a HUGE list of references; and a copy of his insurance rider. To be completely honest, I didn't look for another contractor after that. I emailed Chris a couple days later, accepted his proposal, and gave him the dates I was off so he could plan ahead as to what day would be best. Keep in mind, however, that you have to be flexible with hiring a roofing company: so much depends on the weather forecast, what jobs they're currently working on, etc. What we had loosely scheduled for a Tuesday afternoon became Friday afternoon, and then had to be postponed one more day since the house he was currently working on needed all new plywood underlayment. Chris however guaranteed me though that he and his crew would be at my house before 7am the next morning. No kidding, at 6:50 am several trucks roll up, workers pile out, and ladders are quickly scaled to my roof. For the next few hours, 10 or 12 guys are working non-stop, either stripping, shoveling and dumping debris, ferrying supplies up and down ladders, hammering, nailing, cutting, you name it. Not even 4 hours later, everything is done! I was completely amazed. My yard had not a speck of trash in it, my flower beds were completely clean, and they even went into my neighbors yard to make sure nothing ended up there. My new roof looks awesome, and is such a relief to finally get installed. 2 days later, Chris came back over after the dumpster was taken away to sweep the driveway, run a magnetic roller over where the dumpster was, and use a leaf blower to get rid of any dust or dirt that may have been left. I can't say enough about this contractor and his crew! They were extremely efficient, respectful, timely, and professional. If you have *ANY* roofing or general construction work you need done, I wouldn't hesitate to call Chris.

Chris and his crew did an excellent job and we will use them again and have already gone over projects for next year. My roof is very inaccessible and I don't climb ladders anymore so Chris took pictures of the roof that shows his commitment to a quality job and satisfaction for his customer. Everything he did was detailed in a project folder and his warranty was added at the end. After the job was done, you couldn't tell a construction crew had been there; no debrie in the yard, no nails in the driveway, no damaged ornamental plants ...just an excellent overall job. Chris knows his business and provides his customers with the best quality material selection as well. C&J Construction should be on the top of everyone's home maintanace/repair list.

All of the workers are very professional. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up after themselves.

Chris of C&J came out, did a free assessment, offered a competitive price, and sent a detailed scope of work. He was very responsive via both phone and email. He was eager for the work and professional. He used CertainTeed Landmark shingles. His crew came out and did the roof on my home in one day. Fast and quality work. If you have an older home make sure Chris gets a look in your attic so he knows whether he needs to add plywood or not. That added about 50% to our cost. His crew cleaned up the job site very well and we were happy with the new roof.

Chris and his crew are amazing. They arrived at 7am on the dot and got RIGHT to work. It was a very well orchestrated team of 10 guys who knew exactly what to do. They got my entire roof stripped and reroofed in 5 hours!!! My patio was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. Chris was very responsive to all my inquiries, and appreciate him bumping up the priority on my house when I doscovered a leak in my garage. I really can't say enough about C&J, looking forward to working with Chris again.

We were very impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of this company. The proprietor, Chris Jackson was very responsive and pleasant to work with. He came out to give us a free estimate and it was more reasonable than the ones that we got from two other companies. Chris explained the entire process to us and promptly sent us the bid and various other documents via email. He always returned phone calls and emails and did not keep us waiting. His crew finished the job in one day. The worked non-stop from 7:30 to 5:30 and at the end of the day we had a beautiful roof. They also did a fantastic job cleaning up after the job. We highly recommend C&J construction and we will be definitely referring him to all our friends

He did exactly what he said. Explained how he quoted, got the quote to us, in a matter of days. Started when he said he would. Very prompt, efficient, and helpful. Convenient payment and delivery of shingles. Very professional and ON TIME. This guy knows how to run a business. He was referred to us, through a friend. My friend raved about his work ethic. Very Happy highly recommend.

I got a call from my renter letting me know that the roof was leaking. We recently had some strong winds and I lost a few shingles off the roof. I was a little nervous when booking this job as I needed someone pretty quick before it rained again. Chris was quick to respond and promised job completion before it rained again. I was very impressed with his work. Not only did he replace the shingles when promised within 48 hours, but he repaired a small bump on the roof from other lifted wood/shingles, and replaced the flash around the chimney. I have not had my renters call me back and the clean-up was great. My roof is as good as new. I would recommend C & J Construction to any homeowner and am planning on calling him again for some other minor repairs needed around the property.

Execllent experience from beginnig to end. I have dealt with moore contractors than I can count and Chris Jackson was incredibly professional, prompt, reasonable in his pricing and we were very happy with the outcome. He not only provided me a prompt estimate on request, but documented all the problem areas with photos, gave me prices both with & not including materials ( in case I wanted to purchase my own materials- which I didn't do), etc. And on completion of the work, since we don't live at the propety we had him work on, he sent very thorough before & after photos of every aspect of the job. And we were not disappointed when we went to the property and inspected it for ourselves. Furthermore, our tenants who occupy the property said that Chris & his crew were professional and very nice and were respectful of the property; left everything meticulously clean, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend him or use him myself again for future jobs!

I shopped around quite a bit and selected Chris based primarily on price. The choice was made much easier by virtue of Chris providing to me a copy of worker's comp and insurance certificates, and assurance that a permit would be obtained by the city for this job (some contractors indicated that they would not be pulling a permit, which seemed odd to me). Long story short, couldn't be more impressed by Chris and his crew. Big pat on the back to his crew, which went to work immediately upon arriving here, and working diligently throughout the process, leaving behind a perfectly clean work site and a beautiful new roof on my garage. We had substantial damage to the roofline of our garage and the roof itself was very overdue for re-shingling. Mr Jackson was on time for the walk-through, and his quote was very reasonable. He listened to what I wanted and was considerate of my budget. He was proactive in providing his credentials along with his quote. We chose him over other companies because of his quote and because he is a local businessman. We had a small scheduling challenge initially, but he was communicative throughout, and we were able to easily reschedule the work. He and his crew showed up on time the day of the work, and we were very pleased with the outcome. The quality of the shingling, and the soffit and fascia repair and siding is great! We weren't able to be present the day of the work. My father was there overseeing the activity, and he is not an easy man to please, but he couldn't say enough about the speed and quality of the work that this crew did, and their professionalism. As a result of the positive experience with the garage, We are planning to have our skylight replaced by C & J Construction soon. I would definitely recommend this company for exterior work and roofing.

WOW - best experience with a contractor. They used the same materials as Home Depot at HALF the price. The quote was broken down with MATRIALS and LABOR - Home depot refused to quote labor/materials. I was able to purchase the martials directly from the distributor on my credit card (reward points). The job was completed in 5 hours. The friend is a ex-roofer and he inspected the job and stated that it was professionally done at a fantastic price.

Chris was great to work with. He responded immediately to our inquiry even though it was on the weekend and was just before the 4th of July holiday week. He came the next business day to inspect the problem, and explained/showed the exact problems to us. Although we had asked him to assess the entire roof, he did not overbid and told us honestly that it was fine and we only needed the specific repair. He then offered us multiple time frames within the week, it was scheduled for a Saturday morning to accomodate our work schedule, and his employees (with his oversight) completely repaired the problem that day. They were extremely pleasant, although it was terribly hot and humid, and very neat and efficient. We will use C&J for any future roofing work.

It went well. Chris was available by phone and email, promptly providing emailed quote for the job as well as his insurance details and a long list of references. I had the choice of using his supplier for the roofing supplies or buying what he needed anywhere else, as long as it was delivered in time the day of the job. I ended up using his supplier, which turned out fine, proving quality product. He originally told me he could accommodate me a week after I confirmed I would use him, but it ended up being at least two weeks, I believe. He did arrive promptly on the agreed upon day, with a large continent of workers. They worked diligently all day and returned the next day to finish up the job. They cleaned up the whole area as promised. A spot light had inadvertently been broken during the roofing, but they cleaned up the glass and replace the lightbulb, returning it to working order. Chris appears to be very busy, he answered his phone always, whenever I called. Email had a day or two delay when I emailed him questions but I didn't have a problem with that, I would call if the question needed an immediate answer. I would use Chris and his company again for any roofing job. I did call 3 of his references before deciding on him, and they all concurred. Doing some research, I think his price was fair all around.

I notice I had two leaks, coming from my roof, one being pretty bad. I called C & J Construction on Saturday, to see if they could come out, to see what the problem was, and give an estimate on the repair. The roof was replace 6 years prior, so I was hoping, it wouldn't be a major job. Chris came out, and inspected the roof, also took pictures, to show me where the leak was entering from. He gave me an estimate, while also showing me all of his credentials from his trade. I thought, the estimate was quite reasonable. He also stated, that he would email a written statement on Sunday, with his insurance information and a list of references, which he did. On Monday morning, there was more rain in the forecast, and not wanting anymore ceiling damage, I called Chris, to see if he could come out, and repair the roof. He stated he could be to my house by noon, to do the repairs. After going over some minor details from work, Chris came out, did the work stated, and called me when it was completed. The area was just as it was, when I left for the day. And, there hasn't been any leaks since. Very good work.

The job was excellent. They were clean and on time. It came out great.

Great job, great experience overall

This is my second experience with Chris Jackson and it was overall excellent for quality, professionalism and cost. I obtained an estimate from another contractor from Angie's list and C&J was by far the best. I highly recommend C&J for both a "layover" roof job or for a strip down to the wood job (that was my first expeince with C&J). I'd be happy to provide further details.

The entire process with C&J was fantastic. I contacted him just before I bought the house asking for a quick quote so I would have a rough idea of the roof cost before I bought the place. he responded with a very detailed estimate with materials list so I knew to the penny what it would cost. When it came time to do the roof he actually offered to start early because another job was delayed. In two days they had the entire roof done, and in another two days the dormer was built. They cleaned up after themselves and left the property very clean(they even used a magic eraser to scrub off the scuff marks on the siding!). But even more impressive than that, Chris found out during the roofing that an entire section of the roof didn't need to be plywooded. He let me know and adjusted the quote accordingly, saving me over $750. He could have easily pocketed the money and I never would have known, but he is honest and upfront and more interested in happy customers than just lining his own pockets. I would use him again in a heartbeat, and will be recommending him every chance I get.

I got all the contractors and all the pricing. I met with them and I paid them after the job was done. They were just a great company to work with. They were very professional and on time; just a good company to work with.

Overall experience was the best I've seen from a contractor. Explained the job very well while making the estimate. Showed pictures of recent jobs and gave names of references. Started the job when promised. Had to wait a couple of weeks because he was busy (it's a good sign when they are busy). He said that he keeps just one crew that has worked together for quite a while. This was a smaller ranch house and the crew was able to finish the job in one day. Here's a surprise ... the cost was quite a bit less than two other estimates I received from other Angie's list contractors. I am pleased to add C&J Construction to Angie's list and to recommend them to friends and family.
