Computer RX

I called Brian and he called me back. I remained on the phone while he connected to my computer and checked numerous locations looking for any malware and unused programs that might be slowing down my PCs. He was able to remove over 32,000 temporary internet files from one of them, which made the computer work better.

He's my computer guy and I use him on regular basis. Two weeks before this he put in a new motherboard. He's always doing stuff for me. He stays with the problem and eventually solves it. He takes a while and sometimes you feel you're going backwards instead of forwards but he has a method do his work. So far he has always solved my problems. He has dug me out of deep holes when I thought I've lost stuff and he's found it. There are days when he can't do it right away but he's good. He's a solo practitioner so can't always expect him to be first in line.

I am a real computer novice. Brian built, installed, and provides ongoing service for my computer. He is ALWAYS responsive to my calls, patient, very reasonably priced, and an overall nice guy. Honest, too. Most of all, he is AVAILABLE, and when I need help, he doesn't tell me to call back in two weeks- he is very responsible about helping when I need help. This is a great resource, and I highly recommend him.

Brian was just amazing. Very patient and knowledgeable. While the service was supposed to be just for the hour,it took longer and he stayed and finished. Overall the experience was very satisfactory. From a prompt response to my call to completing the corrections that were called for on my conputer.

It was a great experience. I called and left a message. Brian called me back by the end of the day. We arranged for me to drop off my laptop and discussed what I needed. Brian was waiting for me when I made my drop off. He performed repairs quickly and saved me money but fixing a hinge instead of ordering a new one. I was impressed with the honesty and fairness. He ordered a new keyboard for the laptop and replaced for a minimal fee. Brian called me to let me know it was ready and worked with my schedule to find a time I was available to pick it up. The computer is now working great! I would definitely use Brian again.

I dropped off my new & old laptops and Brian worked late into the evening transferring the data from my old hard drive to my new machine. His expertise, knowledge of systems and specialized equipment can in very handy. Brian patiently explained my problem in understandable terms and delivered my product back to me as promised. I highly recommend Computer Rx to anyone in the Southern New England area.

I called to get some help with my computer problems. I called and left a message. I got a return call within minutes. I explained the issues I was having with the computer and the steps I had already taken to fix it. Based on what was happening, It was suggested to me that it might be the motherboard. He suggested I check the internet for a replacement and see if that fixes the problem. He said if I had any problems replacing it myself to just give him a call back and he'd be happy to help. It was indeed the motherboard and without being charged a single cent and just a few minutes of time on the phone I was back up and running. I would certainly suggest calling this business if you have any computer problems. They're more than willing to help!

Brian was patient with all the various problems that arose over overhauling existing machines. He was prompt and attentive.

The fellow who runs the business thankfully answers a lot of questions that he doesn't charge for. I wanted a specific kind of computer custom made that would do the job for me. He ordered it but charged me just what the cost was. He is extremely fair when he charges. I know he charges because he has given me prices of things. He also answers questions and does a number of things at no charge. He likes a certain company because he likes their service, their warranty process, and their prices. He was putting in an order for an awful lot of people and he added mine. The price wasn't marked up. He has hardly charged me and I have gotten a lot of information. He has put computers together and he has done things with old computers. With all the work he did for me, he charged me $25.00. The quality of work is excellent. He works very long hours, but he will always pick up the phone if you call.

Brian was very accommodating concerning when I could drop off and pick up the computer. I was very impressed that he phoned on Saturday evening with his diagnosis when I had only dropped it off that morning. He and I discussed our options and I decided that repairing it was the least expensive for us to do. He ordered the part and replaced it for what I consider to be a very reasonable price.

I was very satisfied with Brian's work and particularly pleased that he picked up and returned the computer.

I found the name on Angie's list. That afternoon he invited me to bring my computers. He said he'd call me the next morning. He did. Even more was his help with finding me a new computer for which he asked no fee.

My 6-year-old laptop was toast. It made a noise and shut down. When I turned it back on, it beeped loudly and would not boot up. I called Brian at Computer RX, and he was up for the challenge. (I dropped the computer off at his office, but he does do house calls.) He called after he figured out the problem -- one of the memory banks was destroyed. The other bank still worked, so he replaced the 256 chip in that one with a 1G chip. He also replaced the hard drive, since he could tell that it was failing. This whole process only took a few days. Now I am back in action, typing this report on that same laptop, which now runs faster. The $285 was painful, but a lot cheaper than buying a new computer.

Brian was very responsive and professional. When I got my laptop back, it would boot, but I could not get the network drivers, the USB drivers, nor the DVD to work however, so even though I was able to see my files, I could not get them off the laptop. I was a bit disappointed that the machine was still having problems. But when I contacted Brian about the problems, we was helpful over the phone, and downloaded my files from a backup he had made onto my desktop machine. So Brian did recover my files, but I did have to re-install the OS on my laptop from scratch.

I called late Friday afternoon. He came that evening and delivered the computer back the next morning, all fixed.

Brian picked up my laptop the day after I called him, and had it back to me in about 3-4 days. I have not had to make any follow-up calls, although Brian welcomed me to do so. It appears that he got it right the first time.

Overall it was a great experience and I have already referred several people to him!

Now, having had the job completed, I can tell you that this company is deserving of each of those reviews and its great reputation. Brian was extremely responsive. He worked around my schedule in setting an appointment, and he was prompt. Brian is knowlegable, professional and personable. He made sure that everything about my new computer was configured exactly as I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the work he did. Not only am I thrilled with the work he did on this installation, but I also have peace of mind knowing that, should a computing problem arise, I can call upon Brian's expertise and trustworthiness.

My experiences couldn't be better. He even offerred to come to my house, but, as his office is so close to me, I've never taken him up on it.

Brian is great. He is always patient and calm, which I am not when I have a computer problem. He doesn't give up, but keeps trying until he finds a solution.

Brian has been with me every step of the way, and remarkably available to consult with when I have been stuck. He did the main transfer of data and OS downgrade successfully. He then, on a separate occasion, helped me trouble-shoot some problems with synching my PDA with my new computer. And he just helped me today with a small glitch in my Office software - he was able to do this remotely, without my having to take the computer to him, by using software that he installed on my machine that allows him to access (with my permission) my computer and diagnose the problem and fix it. Pretty cool! Overall, he has been great to work with and a great help. I will definitely use him again for computer problems of any and all types.
