PAUL ON CALL

Paul set up an appointment to come and see the work and showed up on time. He took notes, gave me a quote and estimated what week he would be able to do the work. I called back and got an appointment for the week he had promised and he came on time and completed both jobs very nicely.

I'm very happy with his work . He's very friendly, punctual and takes pride in his work. I will be using him again and would highly recommend him.

I had purchased this computer workstation online. It said "assembly required" and most of the reviewers said it was fairly simple to do. We could not, and I had to call on Paul for help. He came and put it together in less than 2 hours.

Paul was very responsive. He was able to suggest low-VOC materials (which we required) and was aware of the health issues associated with VOCs and indoor polution. Cannot comment on price as I did not seek alternate quotes.

Paul initially came by to install our rod a few weeks prior, and told us he didn't feel comfortable installing it because we didn't have a ceiling bracket. So his honesty is appreciated and he came back a few weeks later as soon as we got the ceiling support piece.

We were very happy with him. He fixed the bathroom leak that nobody else could fix for us. He was prompt in doing the work after we talked to him. His price was good, and he cleaned up after himself.

Apparently, the deck was so dry that in some places the seal was absorbed by the deck and it appeared that Paul missed some areas. He was very responsive and came back 2 more times until I was satisfied. He also removed the stain that he got on the siding of my house and from the stone foundation. The job was finally done properly by the third visit. Paul was very professional and was totally responsive to my issues. He corrected the problems in a timely manner.

Paul came to do an assessment ahead of time and we walked all through the house from third floor down to basement of a large house. He made detailed notes, and actually remembered the details when he came back. He had to order a special part for the kitchen cabinet door, which meant an extra time, but he didn't bill until he had completed everything. He was pleasant to have around and asked good questions. He had good advice about mold on the deck and other things. I would definitely call him again. Worth the money.

Paul returned out call promptly and scheduled a visit to inspect the work within a few days of the call. He was friendly and professional. He did a very good job on regrouting and recaulking the tile around our bathtub. It looks brand new. When we found a minor problem after he had finished the job and left, he cheerfully came back and fixed it the same day. He recommended sealing the grout and suggested a type of sealer to use. We would definitely recommend him to friends. I accepted the price quote because he told us the work would take all day or most of the day. The work wound up taking half a day. The price seems high for this amount of time, however I understand that it is sometimes difficult to estimate a fixed price job.

The work was well done and about what I expected for the 12+ hours he had to be at our place. He then called back to check if we were happy. Overall, an excellent experience

The work was done in less than 2 hours at his hourly rate, This is less than we may have paid a plumber to clear the drain. Paul was very pleasant and professional. We look forward to having him come again when any new problems arise.

Great! Paul was so nice -- it's especially nice to have someone come into your home who is friendly and willing to help. He also seemed to take pride in his work, wanting to complete the job in the best way possible. When he didn't have the right piece to fix one of our doors, he left to get it and then came right back -- and he didn't even charge us for that extra trip. Then when something still needed a little more work, he came back at no extra charge because he wanted us to be happy. Everything he did was completed in a professional and meticulous manner. This is the kind of person who you would like working in your home!

Paul responded quickly, immediately diagnosed and fixed the problem, and offered to come back after some adjacent carpentry work had been done. He was friendly and helpful. Overall a completely satisfying experience. The work was done 12 months ago and no new leaks have developed.

Paul was extremely pleasant and professional from start to finish. After a brief but informative exchange of e-mails, he came to the house to discuss the tasks, gave us an estimate of the time and cost involved, and returned later to complete the work in several stages. Without going through the details of each job, I'll simply summarize by saying we would absolutely use Paul again and recommend him to others. He was particularly helpful with presenting alternative approaches to several of the jobs, and was upfront about what he would and wouldn't be able to accomplish. He deftly solved the logistical problem of fitting a 38-inch range hood into the space previously occupied by a 40-inch hood. While there are a few minor things I wish had been different (e.g., the sliding door repair didn't hold up the first time, he couldn't get the window to hang just right when he reinstalled it, and the mailbox isn't exactly centered on the post), overall I found him responsive, accommodating, professional, honest, and very handy.

His price is very reasonable, and he charges per hour. We use him frequently to fix things, and he always does a great job. We will continue to use him in the future and would recommend him to others.

He gave us a good estimate. He showed up on time. He did a great job with the tile. While he was here for the tile, he helped me anchor a coat rack in my kitchen wall. We called him about a year later about fixing a kitchen faucet, and he actually told me how to do it myself over the phone. He has saved me a lot of money. He is a great guy, and he knows what he is doing. I am immensely pleased with his work, his attention to detail, and his caring attitude for his customers. I will continue to use his services in the future and have already recommended him to others.

I found Paul on this site and gave him a call. He returned my call the next day (apologizing that he didn't get back to me sooner. Given that most other Handymen I called never got back to me, this was not a negative!). He gave me an estimate over the phone ($175) after asking some questions and he gave me his phone number. I called him back a few days later to setup an initial visit so that he could check out the door and determine what tools were needed. Paul came over on a Saturday morning at 9:45 am. He took a look at the door and said that he could actually do the work that day (instead of coming back, which would take 3-4 weeks). We were thrilled and said this would be great. Paul worked quickly and did an excellent job with the installation. He took the time explain to me why he was positioning the cat door where he was. After the job was complete, he cleaned up nicely (saw dust is hard to clean completely, so I don't hold it against him that there was some left over). The installation was done perfectly. Now we just have to train our cat to use it! Best part, since he was doing everything in one trip and the total time was less than he expected, I only paid $95! That's $80 under estimate! I will definitely call Paul in the future for any Handyman related jobs.

Paul responded to my email request quickly and came for an estimate on time. Then he initiated several calls to schedule and reschedule the appointment. On the day of the appointment he unexpectedly ran late for an hour without calling us. He apologized when I called him. He came after half an hour and fixed my doors in ten minutes. He didn't charge us anything (originally agreed upon $95). I can tell he's sincerely sorry that he's wasted 1.5 hour of my husband's work time. The doors work find now. I appreciate that he treats his customer seriously, and has courage to admit his mistake and make up for it. I will hire him again and I recommend his service.

Excellent. We have worked with Paul in the past. I emailed him to set up a time that would work for us both - the job was done in less than a week. He was punctual and pleasant. He removed all the trash/boxes and old mini-blinds...

I originally contacted Paul several months ago to look at tile work, electrical, sheetrock and carpentry that was left unfinished by our contractor (construction company). He came out promptly to give us an estimate of the work and did not hesitate to reject work that was not his area expertise. Immediately he got my attention because clearly he was not in this for making a quick buck. Paul's estimate was primarily for tile work in our foyer and master shower area. It included replacing broken tiles which we decided to leave alone. I explained that we were working with our builder to try to get some of these issues resolved and surprisingly he was very encouraging that we should see that through. It took a few more months before we actually engaged his services but his price remained the same. I called Paul back to fix the threshold and some additional tile work and upon completion was handed a bill for what I believed to be extreme. Paul was very accommodating and quickly adjusted his fee and accepted an amount that I felt was fair. I do give him credit for staying true to his standards and values.
