Description of Work: I purchased a deal - $99 for 2 hours of plumbing. He showed up with his apprentice and let me know it was really one hour because they were both there. Initially I thought I had a leaky mixing valve for the shower (per my inspector). He was quickly able to determine there was no leak there so I asked to clear the slow drain in the shower. He used an over the counter pipe snake to clear out some hair at the top of the drain which was not the main cause of the problem and did little to fix it. He also told me I would be unable to remove the top of my stopper mechanism without replacing it for $200 - I did it by myself with no problem right after he left. Poor experience overall.

Description of Work: I bought the special package new 40 gallon gas water heater, installation, and disposal. We got a quality (not top of the line, but good) appliance. My wife, who was home, said the provider was prompt, courteous and competent. They actually went above and beyond: our basement stairs are narrow and steep; we don't have a walkout. They had a heck of a job getting the old one out. |We now have no more puddle on the basement floor, and seemingly endless hot water at a constant temperature.

Description of Work: They replaced a leaking faucet and repaired a running toilet. They came exactly when they said they would. After the job was done, Tom inspected it and made sure everything was done correctly. Both workers were polite and neat. I was pleased with their work and would use them again.

+ -1 moreSome things were good and some things were not. The plumber had a bad back at the time, so he had his assistant do the work under his supervision and he didn't do a great job. The double faucet knobs had to be fixed twice and the tub fixtures had to be fixed twice. They did not do this in a timely manner, it took over two weeks. He was able to do something that two or three other plumbers couldn't. They said I'd have to break a wall in my tile to access the existing tub plumbing. I had gone online and found an adapter kit that could be used to replace it and everyone said no. I bought it anyway and Tom's was able to use it. They were very friendly.
Description of Work: They replaced two double sink faucets and a tub filler and two knobs. They also replaced the bidet plumbing.

Description of Work: I called Tom's Plumbing after another Angie's List plumbing service came to clean out our sewer pipe in the basement. That was the only kind of plumbing they did and could not fix any pipes inside and suggested calling a regular plumber.. Tom's Plumbing came right out the following day and then called me down to the basement to show me where the other plumbing service had left the cover off the sewer pipe and raw sewage was floating out of the pipe and into the surrounding dirt (the reason for the foul smell). This was very upsetting and I have already given that company a negative review. Tom found the problem and called another company to root out the sewer pipe only to find out the problem existed beyond the boundaries of our house and NOT within!!. That is where the back up was, NOT in the house. We called the City of Cranston and hopefully that has been taken care of. Tom and his assistant, Chris went on to remove the old pipe (cast iron?) and replace with the white, up to date piping. I was very pleased with their professionalism and the fact that I was called and told they were running just a little late and would be there soon. This plumbing service deserves A+++++

Description of Work: The plumber scheduled an appointment with us for 9:00am. When he had not called or arrived by 3pm my husband called me at work and I called the plumber to see what the problem was and he said the job that he was on in Pawtucket was taking longer than he anticipated and that he would be there as soon as he finished the job he was on. Finally at approximately 3:30pm he arrived to do the flush on the water heater which did not fix the problem. We had to replace the waterheater 2 weeks later.

He hooked up a gas dryer, unclogged he tub and the hot water was running slow in the bathroom and the faust in the kitchen was leaking and connect the gas to the new grill. He changed the faust in the kitchen, changed the shut off valves in the bathroom then told me i needed a new faust so i ran out to buy a new one. He put the new on in and then told me that was not it that he would have to change the pipes running to the bathroom at a later time. I had to call him back the tub would not drain. the faust in the kitchen had no hot water and was leaking under the sink and the gas grill was not connected. I soon as i called the came right over to correct things. But after my 80 year old mom spending over $1000. she has not got the gas grill connected, she has not running hot water in the bathroom or kitchen. she has to boil water on the stove to wash dishes. and the quote that he gave and what he charge was not even close. He was to call her back to make an appointment to replace her pipes but has not called back. I hired a handy man to come have a look so at least my mom could have water in the kitchen to wash dishes because i could not understand the water flow was fine before he was here and after he left we had no flow at all. so for $40.00 my mom now has water in the bathroom and the kitchen. I thought Tom was a very nice man, but I can not get over the fact that he took advantage of a old lady the way he did. Shame on him.
