JJJ Painting & Construction

We hired JJJ Painting because of the great reviews and I really liked Jason and his wife Bethany when i spoke with them. Even during an extremely busy painting time, they completed the job a day early and with amazing detail. My husband and i would go to the house each night to see the progress and i would take note if i saw something not perfect. By the next day when i was there it was already perfect. I never once had to point out something (and i am a perfectionist). The whole house turned out beautiful and i loved that Bethany gave me ideas for colors when i was stuck. We are so happy with their work!

They did a great job. Always on time. Jason was always in contact. When it turned out we needed more work done, Jason gave us a reasonable estimate. The project became much costlier than we expected but that was due to Jason's commitment to doing the work right. I highly recommend.

After some delay in the starting date, the painters arrived on time. They were very professional and polite. A bit of paint was dripped on the rugs and one hard to reach spot was not covered - otherwise the work was well done.

We've used some excellent contractors from Angie's list but this one was a big disappointment. Because of the good reviews we chose JJJ. I called JJJ on Sept. 6th and talked to Bethany. I told her we needed painting done in a bedroom along with some repairs of the walls. She told me they would be away the following week but Jay would come out on Sept. 16th to see what needed to be done. I asked her if the work could be done by the end of Sept. as I couldn't be available in Oct. She assured me it would. No one showed up on the 16th so I called and got an answering machine and left a message asking if Jay was coming. I didn't get a call until the following morning from Bethany telling me she put down the wrong date and Jay could come over on the 18th. He did show up and I asked him if the work would be done by the end of the month. He told me if Bethany said it would than he would do it by then and he would E-Mail me an estimate by the week end. I never got it. I called the following Monday and left another message. I received an E-Mail later that day with the estimate asking that I sign it within one week. I E-Mailed back with a couple of questions including the time line of the job. Four days later I got a reply but no mention of when they would start. I E-Mailed back and asked when they were going to start the job. I never got a reply. It is now Oct. 5th. My husband was so disgusted he summed it up with....next time we will get someone who has the common courtesy to reply to us and who WANTS to do the job. And we will.

My experience with JJJ was nothing short of outstanding. Jay, the owner, and his wife, Bethany, were highly professional and responsive to all of my questions and concerns,,, as were every single employee that I came in contact with. The carpentry that was done was impeccable and quality work, as was the prep and painting of the house. The house was peeling badly, needless to say it was a challenging job, but the crew had a positive attitude and did not make me feel embarrassed about it! I could not be more please with the outcome and would highly recommend JJJ to any of my friends and family. I am happy to know that I have a contractor that I can call and trust for home repair!

My experience with them did not turn out to well. I had to keep hunting them down to do the job. When the job was done I had to go around the house and clean the dirt which had fallen from the house. It was not a very good deal that I had received from them. They were nice people but did not do the work pretty well. I would not use them again in the future.

Jay's team (Bill and Rich, I believe) were exactly what I was hoping for in a painter. There work was top notch, they cut-in to the molding and trim without getting a ton of paint on the wood and put 2 coats on the walls in under 6 hours. I was very happy with the final product. They were professional and very personable. These guys are good and they know what they are doing. There were some scheduling conflicts on both ends, but Jay and Beth were both a pleasure to work with and they were very flexible in the scheduling. Jay is honest and up-front with what can be done in the allotted time and was very helpful when I was trying to decide exactly what I wanted to get done with the coupon I had purchased through Angie's List. I would HIGHLY recommend JJJ Painting to anyone! I could not be happier with the work I had done!

When I called JJJ Painting and Construction to setup our appointment to have the house power washed they responded to me immediately. They were able to come out and power wash the house within 2 weeks (because the weather wasn't cooperating) and the house looks great! They even helped me to find other companies to help us with various projects around the house since we are out of town landlords and don't have the local contacts that they do. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone who needs their house power washed. We will probably use them every year going forward =)

The work turned out fine, I wasn't around when they came, my wife was and she said they did a good job. They were pretty good, but not perfect. It took a little longer than we expected to get them out here.

JJJ Painting & Construction offered a powerwash on Angie's List for $167. Bill and Steve (aka "Pops") arrived on time and did an outstanding job. It's so nice to drive up and see my house so clean and white.

We choose JJJ Painting & Construction because we wanted to use a local company with good reviews. Jay initially showed up on the date and time as agreed to review the job and provided a quote in a timely manner. Once I agreed to the terms of the agreement, a tentative timeline to start the job was provided. As the time approached, I gave him a call to check the status, as I was eager to see it done. He stated that he could start during the next week and sure enough he and his crew were here as expected. I was leaving for a camping trip in NH on the day he started and when I returned 4 days later, he was nearly done. As I walked around the house to inspect the work, I only observed a few minor imperfections. His crew did not hesitate to make the corrections. I should also mention that this work was done during some of the hottest days I can remember for late May (90+). I consider myself rather picky and not easily pleased. My wife and I are very happy with the work performed and would not hesitate to use this company again in the future. We found Jay and all of his crew to be very cordial, always acknowledging us using our first names.

OUTSTANDING! Another great job by Jay and his team of professionals. They worked Saturday and Memorial day to get the job done in time for a granite install. Super professional. Job involved alot of prep work with some badly pealing walls. Looks great!

JJJ did a terrible job. They did not cut the paint in along edges and left and inch high area above the door frames unpainted. The painters did not seem to like painting the room and only put one coat of paint on. The color is uneven and every brush stroke can be seen. The room will have to be painted again but you can be sure I will not hire them again.

JJJ was one of three businesses contacted. One of the others was on Angie's; the third was the friend of a friend. JJJ had the best references, the speediest response to my email, and took the time to answer my questions truthfully prior to our scheduling a first meeting. Trust me...I am so used to getting the 'come on' via the phone and take it with a grain of salt. This was very, very different. He told me how long his employees had been working with him (incredibly low turn-over - this was a plus for me). He reported his prices are higher and that it represents the quality of his work. (His price was in the middle of the three). He gave me his business phone, cell phone, email. (Each one was met with a speedy response). I told him of my situation - I work out of my house, and the work would not be able to be done when clients are here. Due to the nature of my work, I needed to be here while they were working, so took a week of vacation. Jason and his extremely competent workers (Billy and Collin) were very mindful of the fact that I was spending my vacation at home amidst lots of work! I have a home built in the 1700's that was moved to his present location in the 70's. Much moulding, cracked walls, shifting frames & sills of 30 windows (windows that were replaced BADLY by Home Depot), nooks and crannies everywhere, trim chewed by dogs, wallpaper under old paint (news to me!), crooked lines, falling ceiling, unweatherized walls & ceilings - man, they had a job to do! They did it BEAUTIFULLY. The original movers of this home would be so pleased to see the job. They firmed-up the sagging ceiling, built up the dog-chewed trim and sills, even did their best to makes the replaced windows look great. Daily work: I have never, never experienced workers that possess the drive that I witnessed. Billy and Collin never took a break for longer than 2-3 minutes. I kept asking if they were going to do lunch - nope, they do it at the end of the day on the way home. I even provided lunch vouchers at local restaurants for a 'thank you" on their last day so they could finally take a break - nope, they did it on their way home again. These guys continually monitored each other's work. Remember - I was here all the time, so I got to see and hear. Last note: They just finished the outside - a large porch and all the housetrim. I asked Jason for a bid on the kitchen cabinets and trim. He asked me to think about it, rather than opting for painting right away. He said the natural wood is beautiful and the quality of cabinetry is exquisite. He could have had another painting job with me. Instead, he put integrity above greed. To me, that's what makes this company. This company means integrity, quality, respect. I will never use anyone else.

Overall, I was very pleased with the work! The gentleman who came was the owner of the company. Very pleasant and accomodating. His price was quite reasonable and he worked hard to do a job even I am proud of! I am quite "OCD" about the details. As such, I find that my expectations must be tempered when work is done for me. I usually feel I could have done it better, but obviously we only have time for so much in life and I don't climb ladders. A couple of additional "two cents" that I'd like to add. I am aware that certain people take advantage of small businesses by demanding additional services pro bono in exchange for a positive review. With this country's small businesses struggling and people pushing themselves themselves to the limit just to make ends meet, this type of behavior is morally reprehensible. This needs to stop. Additionally, please READ THE ADVERTISEMENT BEFORE YOU PURCHASE A DEAL. It's not the business's fault if you don't take the time to read the details of an offer. Accept responsibility for your oversight. It is the outdoor surface area, not inside living space that is used to determine a fair price. If your home is 2500 sq ft outside, It's a h*** of a lot bigger outside! This must be taken into account. Off my soap box. Treat honest, hard working, small business owners with respect. JJJ gets my seal of approval for hard work at a fair price.

.Jason was a pleasant young man. He was courteous, cooperative, and efficient. He arrived on time and inspected the house with us before he began his work; so we both knew exactly what he was going to do. He completed the powerwashing on time and charged the quoted price. Our home is an older house and badly needed a cleaning. Jason's results were marvelous. The house looks like new. We have signed with Jason to have this service every two years. We would highly recommend JJJ Painting and Construction.

We were contacted by the company after purchasing a Deal from Angie's List. They were flexible with appointment scheduling and arrived on time. Jason, the owner, is very straight forward and was able to give me a quote ahead of time for the extra cleaning we needed done that wasn't part of the Deal. Jason and Bill did an outstanding job pressure washing our 2 story vinyl sided home and wooden deck. Extremely pleased with how clean and new the siding looks now! Additionally, it should be noted that I had just had a new tree planted right by the front corner of our house and Jason and Bill went out of their way to ensure that no chemicals drained into the soil, (which was no easy feat due to proximity of tree, but they did it, and we truly appreciate their taking extra time and care to do this. Bottom line--very professional and excellent work. We look forward to working with Jason again early fall for some needed deck staining, and would recommend his services without reservation.
