Description of Work: We had Phillips Plumbing install a new gas boiler and water heater last summer. The work was fantastic and they used excellent equipment. They then came to do a small follow up job, which was a bit overpriced. After I called and spoke to them about it, though, the adjusted the cost. I will definitely use them the next time I need a plumber.

Description of Work: I have used Phillips on two occasions. About two years ago, the company solved a longstanding drainage problem out my back door, by opening a new pipe outlet. About a year ago, I had a leaking toilet and they replaced a defective part. This week I got good advice from them regarding a groundwater problem in the basement; although not a plumbing issue, Phillips referred me to several individuals who deal with that kind of problem. I have been very happy with the firm's professionalism, responsiveness, integrity, an competence.

Description of Work: Removal of oil fired furnace and oil tank. Installation and start up of new natural gas fired steam boiler, associated gas piping, new thermostat, and radiator tune up. Coordination with National Grid (gas utility) and required permitting.

Description of Work: They installed an on demand hot water heater. They were punctual. Performed the service well and the hot water heater has worked great. I recommend their services. I requested information about financing and help with the rebate. Here is where I had trouble. There was only one person who could help me and she was difficult to reach. It took many phone calls to work things out. In the end, I did get all the paperwork in for the rebate and she was instrumental in making that happen. With regard to financing, they work with an outside company. I was interested in the financing if there was a grace period of no fiance charges. My understanding was that there was 6 months without finance charges and when all the paperwork went through - which took a long time, there was no grace period.

Description of Work: I had a leak in the ceiling in my bathroom directly over the drainpipe that appeared to come from the bathroom in the apartment unit above. The stain that appeared in the plaster was in a oddly symmetrical square shape and I needed a plumber to assess what the problem might be. I had a dispatch coupon, courtesy of Angie's list, that I used to bring the plumber in to assess the problem. After looking at the ceiling and also the bathroom in the apartment above he believed that the problem might have resulted from leakage due to poor caulking around the tub and shower in the upstairs apartment. The other possible cause might have been overflow from a water catchment container under the upstairs drain. He suggested repairing the caulking first. He then drew a line around the leak stain on our ceiling and suggested I watch it to see if the leakage was spreading. If it did, we would then need to bring him out again to go through the plaster to see what else might be causing the problem. The plumber was on time, fastidious and courteous. I really appreciated having the coupon that saved me a $69 dispatch fee and promised to use the company again in the future.
