From start to finish everyone I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable. I received four different quotes ranging from $900. to $2100.00. Although I had planned to use another company that I know does excellent work, I couldn't justify spending the extra $600. Although it is a busy time of year they were able to schedule me in quickly. Steve, the manager, seemed very efficient and caring about my property and my satisfaction with the quality of their work. Three men arrived precisely on time and worked in 90+ heat carefully and speedily to get the job done. I asked them if they could clean up some of the wood so I could keep it for firewood and they did so without any hesitation. They left my yard in perfect condition, very clean and free of debris. They were very careful not to damage my large wooden shed or to disturb any of my plantings and ornaments. The tree grinding staff arrived early the next day and did an excellent job as well. I highly recommend these guys!

They were right on time..the employees doing the removal of old shrubs got right to work and knew what they were doing. The employee trimming the shrubs seemed not to know how to trim the shrubs. He was working in my line of vision during this time and I could see his work. When he moved away from the immediate visual area he took out his phone and was making phone calls. I had to ask his supervisor to fix the shrub that was not well trimmed., The supervisor was really accomodating and worked on the shrub in question himself, to try to shape it properly. All in all, outside of the shrub trimmer, they did a good job.

While the initial contact was good, follow-up was very poor and is why I would not hire this company. Chris was on time and seemed knowledgeable. I discussed with him the two trees in my front yard, as well as what I wanted planted in the back yard, and he gave me various ideas. I gave him my e-mail address to e-mail me an idea of what the plantings would like it and the price. I said and quot;no rushand quot; and said it would be fine to have the work actually done in the fall. But, I didn't expect that I would never hear from him again. It has been 2 months and nothing - no phone contact, no e-mail. Nothing. While Chris seemed knowledgeable, I would not hire this company because if you cannot get someone to call you back or even send a follow-up e-mail when you want work done, then what would happen once I did hire the firm?

The crew did a great job! they were very polite and professional. The maple had to be craned over a 2 story house section by section. The job was difficult because the tree was huge (over 3 stories). They handled it like it was just every day work for them. They cleaned up after the work was done. I give these guys an A+ for the job. My whole neighborhood came out to watch because it was such a tricky removal.

North-Eastern Tree Service is excellent. They were on time. They were professional. They had the right equipment and they were price reasonable.

I emailed Northeastern many times with no response. I finally called and had an appointment made with Chris. Chris came out looked things over and said he would get back with me on price. I stated to him I would like a time and estimated time to do the work. Chris left a voice mail with price and date. Much to our surprise, Northeastern came out on did the work on Julty 9 and July 14. I had not even given approval and signed any contract. I contacted Northeastern and spoke with Chris. He was under the impression I said to do the work. I ask about price and he stated once again 550. I also asked them to complete the job as the trimming was done very poorly. On July 23, they came back out an these workers did a wonder full job. Northeastern has now sent an invoice $700 for the work. I have contacted them and have yet to hear a call back. I will be paying them only what was stated on phone to me. I have recommend Northeastern to many people, but I do not think I will use again.

North-Eastern did a great job. Everything from scheduling, multiple day removal and grinding, to payment was easy, efficient and effective. This company was recommended by both our septic contractor and landscape designer and can see why -- they were professional, on-time, on budget, cleaned up everything. Will definitely use again -- already thinking about other trees that could be trimmed, shaped, etc. (Need to finish septic project before we start any new projects!) Would highly recommend to family, friends and anyone who wants the job done right the first time, on time and budget. Update: Once our septic project was underway, we were told by our contractor that the trees stumps had not been ground down the necessary depth to proceed with the project. This was on Friday at 3:30 and we were due to have an inspection on Monday! Our septic contractor told us that if we could not have the stumps ground out on Saturday, he would have to postpone the inspection and reschedule completion of project. I immediately called North-Eastern Tree and explained the situation. I was told that a supervisor would be by late on Saturday afternoon to review the work already done and then the grinding done possibly on Monday. On Saturday morning, returning home from errands, imagine my surprise and delight to see North-Eastern completing the grinding of the stumps to the depth we needed! Our septic contractor was able to stay on schedule and our inspection took place on Monday as planned. Sometimes you learn more about a company from how they respond when things go wrong and that was the case here. I appreciate North-Eastern's responsiveness. They acted quickly and got the job done. I was really impressed with how they stepped up and resolved the issue quickly and efficiently. I feel even more positive now about North-Eastern than I did before -- and I was really please with them before! Thanks again for your GREAT service, North-Eastern!

I was very satisfied. They were knowledgeable as well as skilled. Due to a fence and other barriers to access, Tony brought in a crane becuase I had asked him not to cut down a section of the fence. The fence also limited their ability to grind the stumps and they returned approximately 3 weeks later with one day notice to finish the stumps while I was having a new fence installed. I greatly appreciated it.

It went great, these guys look like they do it day in and out. Prompt, professional, and impressive to watch.

My experience with North-Eastern Tree Service Inc has been awesome. They do excellent work. I used them at my old house and now I'm using them at my new house, because they're phenomenal. Their prices are amazing, for all the work they do. They did a fantastic job.

Matt and his crew were great to deal with. They were very hardworking and professional. Their pricing was fantastic and the work was very well done.

I was promised that this job could be scheduled the next week and would take one day. It was not scheduled until the following week because you could not reach the man who does the scheduling. The men showed up at 12:25 PM they started to cut the trees. When they were finished I asked them not to leave any wood on the neighbors front lawn. I was told that that was not their problem. I called the company and spoke with Matt. I told him about this. He said he would speak to them. I also asked when they would take the wood away and grind the stumps. He told me that his other crew would come by the next morning between 7 and 8 am. He would also come with them so he could make sure the job was done right. I heard one man scream to the other two that the b**** wanted the wood moved! They stood on my neighbors lawn and proceeded to throw the logs onto my driveway and my garden, damaging both. The next morning no one showed until 7:50 am. The men sat in their truck, I thought they were waiting for Matt. At 8:20 they swept out the truck and drove away. I was furious now. I called Matt and he said he would try to find out what happened. I also told Matt how the men had acted the day before and about the damage. He said he would look at it when he came over soon. The man returned shortly after. The men began putting the wood in their truck and grinding the stumps. There was no regard to my property. I had bits of wood stuck to my house, everything on the patio, and my motorcycle. I even had a broken window. The men filled the two holes with wood chips which are bad for the ground because they can rot,and draw bugs. I asked the men why they did that and I was told that they could do it. I asked the about the mess and was told the its the owners responsibility to clean up. I asked @ the window and was told to speak to Matt when he came to collect my check. This happened on a Tuesday and Wednesday. I waited until Saturday, no Matt. However I did get a bill in Saturday's mail from Matt. I was going to complain to the Better Business Bureau. However I had been through such a terrible ordeal with this company that I would just Repair the window, redo the garden, clean the side of the house, clean the patio, wash my motorcycle and just never have to deal with this company ever again. I feel that Matt knew that his men had damaged my property and was very unprofessional by not coming over like he had said. He instead opted to let his secretary handle it by sending out a bill. Very UNPROFESSIONAL!

I called up North-Eastern and requested an estimate; one of the supervisors came out and did an assessment, leaving it in my mailbox. I followed up with a few calls to work the details and we scheduled the work to be done on April 18th. The job was made a little difficult due to the fact that I had a septic system in the area, so they could not bring any heavy machinery close to the trees. Still, the crew came by and spent the better part of the day cutting down the 6 trees, sectioning them up, and hauling everything away. The guys were very friendly and professional, answering questions that I had. The stump grinding crew came the next week, and were also friendly and professional, getting the job done and hauling debris away. I would highly recommend North-Eastern to anyone looking for tree work. As an aside, they also offer a payment plan so you can break it up over a time period - very convenient.

Arrived when they said with three men, a bucket truck and shredder. Removed all the dead branches from 4 trees. Cleaned up the yard nicely afterwards. Excellent job.

Once they arrived they did what was agreed upon very professionally and cleaned up after they were done.

These trees are not accessible by bucket truck, so they had to climb them to do the work. My only complaint really was that I had to re-schedule from the original date and they were difficult to connect with to do so. They kept re-directing me to the job supervisor, who never returned my calls until I threatened to cancel and go with another company. That got a quick call back. The quality of the work and the clean up was good.

The initial experience with this company was great. They came out to give an estimate shortly after we called them. The rep was very courteous, professional, and gave us a very reasonable quote. We called them within 48 hours to schedule the service. After about 2 weeks of no response, we attempted to contact them 2 more times, and were told that someone would call us back within the day to schedule. A month later, we are still waiting for that call. Even if they are too busy to take on another project at this time, a call stating this fact would have gone a long way. I find this to be very unprofessional, and it looks like we will have to pay more with another company to ensure professionalism.

I decided that I was afraid that a good strong wind could blow over this large oak tree that overhung the power lines and could possibly damage my house. The tree lost a large lower branch 6 or 7 years ago and insects and rot had destroyed most of the heart wood, making the tree dangerous. I called several area Tree Services and this one came in lowest by a substantial amount. I was concerned that I might have made a mistake by choosing the lowest bidder, but based on their good reviews on Angie's List, I decided to have them go ahead. The tree had good access from my paved driveway, the street and my side street, so the job was easily accessible for a bucket truck. They showed up on the date they agreed to and removed most of the wood the first day. They did a good job cleaning up even though I could tell they were coming back. The second day they took the last of the wood and ground down the stump, leaving a small amount of wood chips near the former stump. I'd use them again.

We initially requested a quote for 3 services, trimming of one tree, removal of another tree and grind the stump, grind of an old stump. They come by saw the work and gave us a quote. After scheduling we decided to put off the trimming, once they come by, they cut the tree and left, leaving behind a chainsaw in the process. In the yard, with 2 kids running around... Some days later they come to trim the 2 stumps but they told us the old one could not the done with the grinder and none of their chainsaw was working on that day, that was a bummer. Because we are now left with an old stump and no company to remove it. They billed us 2 times for the full quoted work, even if they completed only one of the 3. That too was annoying also because we were asking to revise the invoice and they were adding late fees. At the end everything was fine but I think they could have handled both the job and the paperwork better.

It went great! They quoted an estimate, made the appointment, came on time, cut down the tree, took all branches and wood with them(we didnt want it) and left the place clean. these guys are great! Recommend them highly!!!

They did the job very well. The felling crew arrived on the first day, cut the tree into log segments, shredded the branches and removed all but the log pieces. On the second day of work the two man crew removed the logs and the 4-foot diameter trunk, ground the roots around the trunk, cleared all of the debris and logs from the site, and left it in clear condition. The project manager, foremen and workers were competent, resourceful, easy to work with and willing to answer questions about the work. There is a lot of room for mishaps and incidental damage when you're working with large and heavy logs in close proximity to power lines and to the house, but there were no problems.

The person who came to give the estimate was late. He did offer a reasonable estimate for the work but then it took a long time until the service could come. The actual crew was not very good. They slaughtered the rhododendren. They said they could not do the stump, a special crew would have to come back to do it (something I had not been told at the initial meeting). Then, it took forever to get the stump removal scheduled. The first time the crew arrived, they had a huge machine that would not fit through my back gate. They took the gate off the hinges and still the machine would not fit. They replaced the gate but totally ruined it in the process. I had to get someone else to fix it later. The next time they came, they had a smaller machine but did not completely grind out the root. Soon after the root resprouted. By then I was fed up. I would never hire this company again.

They provide good service. I referred them to my girlfriend. It was not the best because it took forever for them to get here but when they did do the job, they did an excellent job.

I. Love. This. Company. This is the 2nd time I've used them (first time was as a back-up...hired Warwick Tree from a referral - they sucked so called Northeastern for a simple stump removal). They came the first time within days of the call and it was just a normal experience. I called them back for my bigger job - to remove 33 trees lining the perimeter of my yard. Dan came out, again within days, gave me a quote and I hired him that afternoon. He is such a nice guy, very professional and easy going. They were out doing the job the following week. I didn't shop around for prices but $1800.00 didn't seem bad for what we needed. They took all the debris and I told Dan I also needed the stumps along the street grinded out. That wasn't originally in the quote but he added it in at no additional charge. They were here about 8am and were cleaned up and gone by about 2pm. I can't believe how quick they worked and didn't bother my neighbors, no damage on my property and cleaned up well. I would never call another tree company for any more work I might come across in this house or any future houses. I love them and the whole staff! Even the woman answering the phones is pleasant to deal with!!! Highly recommend this company!!!!

In mid-March of this year I was given an estimate to remove a large dead tree from the backyard of my property. I was told by the estimator that a bucket truck would be used, and that there would be no problem with accessing my backyard through a cedar-fenced gated area. (The estimator noted that my gate would be easily removed by the crew, and one fence post removed so that a single long section of fence could be set aside: allowing a 9' wide entry to the backyard). I agreed to hire this company based on the price which was quoted, which I felt was reasonable. I was told at the time that the job would be done in approximately three weeks. 6 weeks later, I was told by this company's Customer Service that I and quot;was not on the current scheduleand quot; as of yet, and the original estimator would call me to let me know when I would be and quot;onand quot; the schedule. I was not contacted by anyone regarding the issue, so I called back 3 days later. I was again told that the estimator would call me. I was again not contacted. Two weeks later, I again repeated the process, and was again told by customer service that I would be contacted by the estimator to get on the schedule. No response for 3 days again. I then called again, and actually spoke to the estimator, who apologized that 8 weeks had passed and somehow, my job had and quot;fallen through the cracksand quot;. He promised to have a crew there to do the job and we agreed to a specific date. On the date we agreed to, I returned to my home after my work day expecting the work to be completed, only to find the job not done, and a voicemail indicating that the crew and quot;could not access my backyard with their truck because I did not have my fence and gate removed prior to their arrivaland quot;. I left a message to ask for a return call to explain why this was an issue based on our earlier agreement, and again was ignored for another three days. Enough is enough, I cancelled the project today, and cannot express enough how disgusted I am with this company and how I was treated. In my opinion, it is amazing that a company can operate like this and retain customers. I would recommend to anyone reading this to hire a different company that values it's customers: in my mind this company clearly does not.
