Mike’s Professional Tree Service Inc

This is the fourth time I’ve used Mike’s Professional Tree Service and have been happy every time. Mike showed up at the time the office said he would for the estimate, looked at what I needed done, gave me the price which I thought was fair, and said the team would be by the next day. His team showed up and as usual were right on time and were very friendly and polite. They went over what I wanted done and began working. When they were finished we looked over the work and they did everything I asked for. They gave me the invoice, I gave them the check and they left. They did an excellent job on the trees and they did an excellent job on the clean up. I’m very happy with them.

They did a good job. I would work with them again.

The price for the work requested was good but job neither started nor ended well. I called Mike's for the job and left numbers for them to call back. Mike returned my call at my home number at 6 am! My wife answered and by the time I got to the phone, Mike had hung up, perhaps realizing his mistake. I considered it a small issue at the time. When we met for the evaluation, I explained the work to be done (detailed in the work section in this report) and he quoted me the amount. I said I would get back to him and he suggested we plan for the following morning but I could call him later and cancel if I'd like. I thought the price good at that point so I agreed. Mike's called the next morning, while I was waiting for them,to push it out by a day, a bit of am imposition as I like to be there when any contractor job starts. It was a good thing that I did, the foreman that showed up the next day thought I wanted the tree house tree's cut down completely. It took me some time to examine the job during daylight hours and I saw that the trees I had designated for the house tree were not cut as I had asked. one had a partial cut in it below the top and was not cut at an angle, the other was not cut at the shattered top as I asked I called Mike's and left a message as such. When I spoke with the foreman later, he explained that the partial cut was small and inconsequential (aesthetic) and that the shattered tree had been cut at an angle as asked. I then spent more time viewing the partially obscured top of the shattered tree and found it was definitely not cut as I had asked. I left another message for Mikes and when Mike called me a few days later he said it wasn't worth sending his guys out to finish the job as I had asked. He also suggested that I get a ladder and cut it the way I want it. He held that his foreman wrote it was cut at an angle and therefore it must be true. Since he was unwilling to correct the issue, I suggested that he reduce the bill. He offered to reduce it by $5 dollars which I took simply as further proof he was not interested in good customer service. After further discussion we agreed on reducing the bill by $25. I was generally happy with the work done other than the lack of attention to detail and Mike being argumentative when I requested the problem to be fixed.

Mike came out on Monday, gave me a quote and on Tuesday the tree's were all cut down. Wednesday they came and picked them up. The actual price was lower than quoted. They did a great job. Would recommend this company to all, and will definately use them in the future.

This is the worst experience with service I've ever had. He showed up 25 minutes late, didn't apologize, was extremely rude. He seemed to think that my time wasn't important at all. He walked away without giving any kind of explanation to his behavior.

The staff that showed up was not Mike (who gave the estimate) but when I talked to him later about my disappointment he insisted her was there that day doing the work, even though he was on the phone with his "brother" (who was on site) to confirm the cost. Later he said he has no brother. When I posted a review online on another site describing what happened, Mike called and threatened to sue me.

I came home on THursday, July 9th to find that a fully mature tree at the back end of my property had been removed. Only a stump remained. I contacted my neighbors at the back end of my property and they explained to me that since they were new property owners in the neighborhood they thought the tree was on their property, and hired Mike's Professional Tree Service to remove the tree. On Monday, July 13th I spoke with Mike of Mike's Professional Tree Service, Incorporated to explain to him that the tree he removed did not belong to my neighbors as they had originally assumed, but rather it was on my property fully within marked property lines. His response was rude and belligerent. He told me that it was not his problem. He explained that as the arborist hired to remove the tree he was not required to see proof of ownership or property lines. I find it amazing that a company that bills itself as "fully licensed and insured" and a member of the National Arborist Society could be this lax in their job.

Job went extremely well. The crew of 8 men arrived at 6:50AM (10 minutes early) and began operations right away. By 9:30AM, all seven trees were down and the brush and overgrowth was mowed down. I had a leaning pine (primary reason for the service visit) that was hanging over my neighbors horse pen. The foreman was able to easily bring down the tree without any damage to the neighbors fence. The crew was professional, fast and clean. In addition, I was able to pay half on the day of work and set up a 0% interest payment plan for the remaining balance. That kept it easy on the wallet. I would definately call them again in the future.

They were very good when I spoke to them, but a little negligent in getting back to me. Their work was very good and very fast. I needed the tree removed quickly as it was too close to our house and needed to go before I could get a new roof. They said they'd look into whether they could move some other jobs to get it done, but never called back. When I called them, they had been able to schedule it for the time we originally discussed--a phone call from them to confirm would've been appreciated. They showed up early with an impressive crew (crane, cherry picker, and chipper) to get the tree down in a little over an hour. The crane and cherry picker left and the rest of the crew stayed to clean up. Whole process was done in maybe four hours. Stump was ground up the next day and the tree trunk was removed after the weekend was over. It would've been nice to let me know in advance that those two things wouldn't be done on day one so that I wouldn't have had the annoyance of thinking they weren't going to complete the job. The crane was huge and let them get the work done very fast and for a price several hundred dollars less than other estimates. They also let me work it out so that I paid half at the time of the job, with the rest spread out over the next year (they actually would've let it go longer) without any interest.

His prices were high, and he was very unprofessional, I would recommend not to use him

It went great. They were there early in the morning. I had made the appointment only a few days before. I was surprised that they were able to accommodate me so quickly. They worked continuously without taking breaks and did a great job. The only reason I give them a "B" for price is because I have no idea how much other places charge. It just seemed like a lot of work and $2500 didn't seem too bad at all.

Office was very helpful with pertinent details. Set up appointment. Tree guy came as scheduled, did the work, cleaned up, we wrote the check and everyone was happy.

I was very disappointed to come home from work and find an awful mess in my yard and the sidewalk in front of my house. My neighbors on both sides had messes in their yards, and the main tree that I had needed pruned - which was stressed to both the estimator and the project manager on the job - was not fully pruned and remains a problem for me with my neighbor. This was the primary reason I called for tree service in the first place and to not have it done was a big disappointment. Two of the trees pruned still have visible dead branches. I have sent two emails to the company and no one has responded to me.

After contacting Mike's Tree service asking for an estimate, they sent me copies of their Workers Comp. insurance and Liability insurance ahead of the company rep.who came out a couple of days later at the scheduled time. The price quoted was the best of three that I had obtained. Arrangements were made and the job done on the agreed to date/time. No problems.

I was very pleased with their work. They came when they said they would come.

The service was quick, and I believe a good price considering I had one estimate for 350 just to trim back the 2 large trees from the house. My only concern is that the yard was left a bit of a mess, and they arrived several hours before schedule, and I wasn't prepared, but the job was done quickly and efficiently, and I would use them again. I really appreciated that they sent documents before the estimate with copies of their license and insurance.

They cut down the trees with no problem, but while on site, added quite a bit of extra cost for a branch and stump removal that was agreed to in the original bid. I didn't make too much of that because we had done business in the past, and the guy who came out to do the job was not the same guy who bid the project. I just wanted to get it done, and his prices are sometimes low, sometime high, it averages out. But then they NEVER finished the job. Calls never got returned. As a result, I had to re-seed my lawn which was killed off by logs laying on it for months. It is obvious from the other ''good'' responses below that these were all done on the same day from the same person. I say buyer beware. I do know they have done some good jobs recently, so perhaps he has sorted his business out but just be aware that you should not pay a dime until the job is completed.

I made arrangements through the office for a specific time to have Mike come and give an estimate. Five minutes before the appointment, the office person called to say that Mike had been "called away to another job," and could they reschedule? I did, rearranging my schedule to fit what the contact person said would be convenient for Mike, two days later. Fifteen minutes before that appointment, I got a call from the same person, saying that Mike had been "called away to another job" and could they make another appointment? They surely could have given me more ample notice than 5 or 15 minutes (if the excuses were true) and Mike himself never called. I had bought "seasoned" firewood from Mike's in the past. The delivered wood simply didn't burn. His "solution" to my complaint was to bring a bucket of "kindling" wood to help; It didn't, and he refused to refund my money. I called this time to give them another chance, in case the first time was an anomaly. It appears that it was.

Gave us an estimate one afternoon and had the work done by 8:00am the next morning! They were quick, clean, careful, and fairly priced.

ONE OF THEIR MACHINES BROKE AND THEY LET THE OIL RUNNING ALL OVER MY YARD AND INTO MY SOIL. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO GROUND THE STUMPS AND THEY DIDN'T. I HAD TO GET THEM TO COME BACK TO FINISH IT. I WOULD TELL OTHERS TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS IN WRITING.

MIKE'S TREE SERVICE IS JUST FINE. THEY WERE PRETTY NICE PEOPLE. IT ONLY TOOK THEM ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES TO GET THE WORK DONE. THEY DID EVERYTHING PERFECTLY.

WITH MY FREE ESTIMATE I RECEIVED THEIR INSURANCE INFO. I LIKED THAT. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CLEANED UP EVERY SPECK OF DEBRIS. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND I WAS GLAD TO PAY FOR IT.

THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL OF POWER LINES AND OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. WHEN THEY LEFT YOU COULD NOT TELL THERE HAD BEEN A TREE IN THE YARD.

I WOULD TELL ANYONE NOT TO HESITATE FOR EVEN A MINUTE TO HIRE THIS GUY TO CUT DOWN THEIR TREES. HE IS VERY GOOD. ONE OF THE TREES THAT HE CUT DOWN FOR ME WAS IN A VERY TIGHT SPOT, AND HE MANAGED TO GET IT OUT OF THERE WITH NO PROBLEM.
