G&B Construction

Our 30+ year old front porch and walkway were deteriorating and cracking, definitely showing their age. I contacted G&B based on their reviews here on Angie's List and certainly wasn't disappointed. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and made sure the job got done to my satisfaction. George came out to my house, reviewed the situation, listened to the ideas I had, added a few ideas and suggestions of his own and sketched out a rough plan. He gave me an estimate on the spot and left me a catalog of the various pavers available. Once the contract was signed, it was about 6 weeks until work actually started. In the interim I got several updates on their schedule and estimated start date. (Kathleen in the office is a delight to work with!) The crew that showed up to do the work was top notch. They went over the design with me and explained how everything would be done. They answered all my questions and checked with me several times during the process to make sure that everything was exactly the way I wanted it. Best of all, their workmanship is superb --- the finished product looks fantastic! Upon completing the 3-day job, they removed all the debris, completely cleaned up the entire area and added topsoil around the new walkway. Job well done, G&B Construction!

George came out for an estimate the day after we called him, and he came in at the lowest bid. He gave us about a 6-8 week out time, told us it would take about 3 days, and said he'd call us when he could do it. He required a 10% deposit up front when we signed the contract. He wound up calling us after 4 weeks, and said he had a crew that could come by the next day to get started. His crew got the entire thing done in ONE DAY and it looked beautiful. I left for work that morning and came home to a completely brand new patio. He came out that night after I came home, gave us instructions on how to care for the new patio, and he came by the next day to put a sealer on it. It was a completely professional, no muss, no fuss deal for us. We didn't need to take off work, George was completely available and on time when we needed him, and it was extremely quick and painless. I would definitely use G&B again in the future.

G&B were very quick to return my call and come out for estimate, George took his time and looked at everything and explained what he would do and gave me a very fair estimate. They came out the following week, arrived early, were very professional and friendly. Performed all the prep work and came back the next day and poured the concrete. When they were done you would not know they were even there. A beautiful job and made sure I was satisfied before they left. Highly recommend.

G&B construction was excellent. They removed and disposed of our old brick patio and poured a new, larger concrete patio in its place. They did a great job in keeping the disruption to a minimum, and went out of their way to protect our driveway, sidewalks and lawn during the process. The finished patio is beautiful and we will enjoy it for many years to come. We would definitely use them again, and highly recommend them.

We had an unexpected kink in our move planning, and the township required us to replace 2 sidewalk pads before issuing certificate of occupancy. G&B was responsive, helped us find another party nearby to save money (there is a flat rate just to get the concrete truck onsite, so adding additional parties who need the same work saves money), and also quickly navigated through the permit process so that we could easily move without any other headaches (their office staff was very responsive, competent, and friendly). We look forward to using them again in the future when we redo our patio.

George responded promptly to my call for an estimate. He followed up a few days later to ask if I had made a decision, and then wrote up a detailed estimate. He explained that the start date depended on the weather, and the work was completed sooner than I had expected. They arrived Friday afternoon and removed the concrete; they returned Saturday morning to pour the concrete. The entire job was completed by 1:00 pm. George returned on Monday to remove the protective tape barrier. George is very pleasant and his team seemed very nice, too. They have a strong work ethic, worked efficiently and cleaned everything up. I thought I received a very fair price and the "A" rating George received from others on Angie's list is very well deserved.

Great experience overall! George was very knowledgeable and informative. The job was completed earlier than we thought it would be. We are very happy and will use them again if we need similar services.

G&B was very professional in promptly assessing and recommending the work required and quoting a price. As this was outside work it was weather dependent. G&B was on the job at the first break in the weather that allowed them to get onto the roof and start the job. They finished when it was warm enough to allow pointing with mortar. When they finished I was called to the job site to inspect and approve the work done. An professional invoice was submitted and paid.

Everything went extremely well and exactly as he described. There were no surprises and he even added topsoil and grass seed where it was needed after the new stairs were completed. I will definitely use G&B again and will refer others to George.

George from G & B was very professional. His crew arrived on time and completed the necessary work. The job was a little more detailed because under the cement blocks that were being replaced were tree roots that needed to be removed before new cement could be poured. G & B removed the roots and followed all township requirements in replacing the cement blocks. I would use G & B again and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing cement work done.

They were very professional and thorough during our estimate. They even came up with a creative solution (capping with stone) that we hadn't considered. Unfortunately the cost of their services was too high - approximately 2-3 times higher than other offers, so we declined the work.

After reading all the other great reviews, I gave George a call. Within an hour after I left a message, he returned my call, and within a short time that same day, he came over. As he evaluated what needed to be done, he shared his opinion of the details with me and I found that we were on the same page. I felt very comfortable right from the start and did not hesitate to sign our contract. A few weeks later our project was started and it all went amazingly well. George and his crew were prompt, hard working and very polite. They cleaned up as they went along. No attention to detail was ignored. Near the end if the job, George took me in person, to pick out the pavers and edgers, rather than to choose from pictures. The job was finished within the week and now I have a beautiful patio, along with other perfect cement work. I could not be happier with the work or with the total experience. Because George has so much knowledge of his trade, I was not promised something that the workmen would not be able to do. I think that is probably the most important thing of all.

Excellent. I'd replaced my sidewalk many years ago because it was damaged by tree roots. The roots were cut away at the time but grew back and damaged my walk again. I had the offending tree taken down this past summer and needed the walkway and a cracked driveway replaced once and for all now that the problem has been eliminated. I noticed G & B doing work in the neighborhood and asked a homeowner how satisfied he was with their work; he gave me a glowing recommendation. Angie's List concurred. George, the owner, came out and sat down with my wife & I and explained in detail all the work involved. He brought a stump grinder and ground away the rest of the tree stump & roots. He and his crew showed up on time every day and did a beautiful job exactly the way I wanted it done. George did a good bit of the finish work himself, like smoothing out the areas around the control joints. He also removed a concrete step where a side door used to be that was no longer needed. They did not use a dumpster; they hauled the old concrete chunks away in their own truck. George is a young guy but he has the expertise and work ethic of someone much older. If you hire him you won't be disappointed.

George came out when promised, gave a fair price and did the job quickly. His work is great and he's easy to deal with. Will definitely be using him for my next concrete job.

George and his crew removed an old concrete slab in our garage that was not poured correctly many years ago. Then they poured a new cement slab so that our garage door will now close securely to the ground.

This is our third project with G&B! If you want the job done right - use G&B. George and his crew are professional, hard working and extremely good at their craft. Our pillars are beautiful and stately to match our 100+ year old stone house. Our neighbors just can't stop raving about the pillars! We will be using G&B for all of our future masonry, hardscape and concrete jobs.

This was our second project with George and his crew. They are great! Our property has a lot of water runoff due to the location and a neighbor that crushed our drain grate from backing over it for years. G&B came to the rescue again! They extended the drainage by creating /extending a smaller grate to be the width of the drive to catch all of the water at the top. The concrete was designed with a slight sloped ensuring flow to the large drain which was repaired and reinforced to withstand the neighbor's car.

The bricks on the front entrance steps were either cracked or missing, so they had to rebuild the entire steps out of bricks. I had a cement side alley which I wanted covered with E.P Henry pavers and which came out beautifully. The crew arrived as scheduled and completed all of the work in a professional and workman like manner. George kept us updated as the job progressed and his team cleaned the job site daily. I am very pleased with the final result and I would highly recommend G&B Construction.

The job went very well, George explained to us exactly what they would do and where they would need to dig. His team was very courteous; they even saved some of the azaleas around the house and replanted them for me. The driveway looks really good - I got lots of compliments from my neighbors. I highly recommend them and I would definitely use them again.

I hired G&B to install pavers on my patio. I had 3 quotes and even though G&B wasn't the lowest bid, I hired them because George inspired confidence and showed that he knows what he is doing. I was never sorry for my choice. They worked within my time frame and they cleaned up all the mess before leaving. My patio looks great and they were very professional, considerate and punctual throughout the whole project. I would recommend to anyone.
