We called for an estimate of our townhouse roof. They provided that quickly. They installed it quickly. The job was performed well. The clean-up was beautiful. ============= About 2.5 years later we had a leak around the smoke stack. From then on, we had problems with their support / service (which we found out is virtually nil). We called their emergency line to report a leak. We called 6 times over a 2 week period and left messages during the first 5 calls (all identical messages) saying that we had a leak. No one called us back. ============= On the 6th time, we told them we had a leak and that it ruined the ceiling of our daughter's room. "Oh", they said, "Why didn't you say that on your message. We've been busy. We would have taken care of you if you had said something about that." ============= It took them another approximately 4 or 5 months for them to provide a temporary repair (after repeated phone calls and one visit to their office). It took them another year for them to get us an estimate for a permanent repair (after numerous phone calls and ANOTHER visit to their office. ============= We went with another company to complete the permanent repair.
Description of Work: replaced entire roof (done well except for a leak 2.5 years later), ------------> did temporary fix of the leak (after a long delay and after many months with numerous phone calls), ------------> did not do a permanent repair of the leak (because they delayed too long). we went with another company.

They are pretty responsive; they got back to me right after I called them. I think the price was fair. Their quality was very good. They are really good in terms of responsiveness. They did not tell me actually when they were going to come to do the work. Because it is all outside, I did not actually have to be there but I would have liked to have known so I could have been there. I never knew when they had actually done the work. I just came back one day, they had done it and there was a bill in my mailbox. I would consider using their services in the future.
Description of Work: We used CD Kaller for roofing. We have a slate roof and they have a service that they provide called the slate tune up. Therefore, we had a slate tune up done and in addition to that we had an adjustment to our gutters as they were damaged by the previous winter.

They were wonderful. They charged me $1800 for their services. There was nothing specific that stood out about them. They did a good job and I was pleased. I thought that the price was fair. I would recommend their services to the others. They came in later than I was expecting them. I will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used CD Kaller Inc. I last used their services may be a month ago. They replaced the gutters in the back of my house which were about sixty feet long.

I did call CD Kaller and a couple of other companies. Their estimate was higher. To be honest, I didn’t appreciate the salesperson especially when he criticizes someone else. I didn’t appreciate him doing that. Even if they were cheaper, I don’t know if I would have gone with them because I was turned off by the salesperson. I didn’t like the way they handled the business. I wouldn’t consider using their services again in the future.

The only number we have for the member is his work number, and I left a message that went into a general mail box early in September and did not hear back. I was unable to follow up due to the increase of work due to the tropical storm, the hurricane and all the heavy rains we've experienced. I called today before 4:30 and again got the general mailbox which I did not want to leave personal information about him home on. I do have a quote available for him if he provides us with an email or a direct contact line. We have done a very similar roofing project for many of his neighbors. And I would be happy to include him on a list of our many satisfied customers.

The job turned out to be a disaster. It took them over a year to finish a two-week job. We then had to get it painted after they were finished. We ended up having to get a professional painter before winter. Everything had been taken apart when they said they had messed up and needed more money or they wouldn't continue. They basically messed up the quote and the cost of the material was higher. We were forced to pay that or not have anyone to finish. The roof is made of copper and it leaks. The carpenter who rebuilt the porch was good but the roofing took forever.
Description of Work: CD Kaller Inc put in a roof and rebuilt our porch.

Without looking at the file, I have pulled up some of the member's information on the computer. It shows that this contract began in October 2005 and ended in May 2006. The orginal contract amount was for $24,411, there was additional material costs that the member agreed to in April 2006. There is still a balance on this account in the amount of $1367. I will be reviewing the file and will give a more detailed responce.

We purchased our home in November of 2010. We lined up construction projects in stages to repair and modernize this tudor and make it more livable. One of the first projects was to finish out the attic space and convert it to an office. In the process of this build we found evidence of water damage from the roof. We traced it back to some valleys of the house and dormer roofs and flashings. We had 4 companies give us estimates and most of them suggested removing the clay tile and replacing it. Only C.D. Kaller was confident that they could repair the roof. The references about C.D. Kaller were very positive so we decided to sign a contract. They have a long history in the area dealing with aging slate, cedar and tile roofs so we were confident things would get done right. The workers were punctual and worked as we agreed. I had regular and timely communication from the project manager. Our project was delayed by weeks of rainy weather, but we found that the work site was left water-tight every time and we have not seen any leaks from the roof. The project was completed on budget - the only cost overruns we had was from additional work and materials that we requested. Overall, we are very satisfied with C.D. Kaller and have plans to use them on future projects.
Description of Work: C.D. Kaller performed the following repairs on our original 1923 clay tile roof: * Replace and fill broken and missing tiles * Open up the clay tile covered valleys of the roof where we had water penetration and seal the valley with copper * Remove all flashings and replace with new copper * Remove gutters and replace with new 6 inch diameter copper gutter system * Replace all dormer roofs and sidings * Seal new windows in dormers (installed by a different company)

They did a good job but I was somewhat uncomfortable because there was some fighting going on among the workers. They didn’t do a great clean up job. There was a lot of cigarette buds left on the ground and screws all over the yard. The work itself with regard to the finishing part was well done. There were a couple of things I had to have them come back and fix. I won’t use them again even though I wish I could because the work they did was really pretty good. It’s better than what I’ve had in the past with remodeling. I think they were pretty much in the middle with regard to price. They weren’t very professional. They still haven’t come back to collect their lawn sign even though I called and told them about it. I cannot even through it away. I will not use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used CD Kaller Inc. I used their services just last month. They put a new roof over our deck and they replaced a roof on an addition.

UPDATE JULY 22, 2011: Am in shock and afraid ability to live in home is now impaired if Kaller does not redo/over roof, this defective job, and install correct Ridge Vent for NO extra money owed since contracted for. Home is already getting stuffy for lack of proper exhaust as hot weather has hit. Hasn't done everything in contract specified, even items thought they thought I didn't notice, (took shortcuts). Very upset when to have NEW roof with a "patch" cutout, because 3rd Exhaust Fan on lowest part of slope was NOT installed as told, and I don't appreciate patch in new roof. Kaller STILL has NOT issued a "change order" reflecting the remaining 5% discount for Angie's list (less $500 credit) that was legally due me. This despite calls and emails to/from Angie's List. Email to Angie's list that they WILL honor it (after many excuses, and I did present it AFTER estimate), is only legal dispute, not binding until they put in change order to me. Angie's still requesting Change Order. KALLER HAS SAID NOTHING ABOUT THIS. Since 2 coupons, depending on amount of job estimate: have had prior torch roofs in teens, even WITH replacement of wood: couldn't know bid would come in over $26,000 for single torch roof. Also: specs for BID asked for CUSTOM skylight. True: I signed contract with small print, but didn't "check" their measurements, trusting them. Only AFTER signing, I discovered they measured wrong, they admitted buying cheaper/standard size. Manufacturer told me it would be only another $100: Kaller charged me $350 MORE on separate change order. Think that was wrong since they knew I requested Custom to exact size..but they insisted. Same goes for admitting what was delivered for Ridge Vent was WRONG: Owner nicely admitting it , and requesting diagrams. He even asked me to ask House Inspector if HE could "design one." Have been asked to "sign off" on new one, but refuse to do "one –piece" off site assembled one, which is required to avoid leaks. Have checked this carefully with Architects and Roofers familiar with these low slope houses and Custom fabricators. Had one before: all aluminum, soldered, one piece, installed in minutes. WRONG TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY UPON RETURN OF MANAGER FROM VACATION FOR CORRECT RIDGE VENT. BECAUSE THEY GOT FIRST WRONG, AND PERHAPS THEIR NORMAL FABRICATOR DOESN'T KNOW OR CAN’T BUILD ONE TO SPEC. He only measured opening: took NO measurement of soffits, size of long slope to exhaust as required for "math" to calculate amount of exhaust needed. Exhaust must equal Intake. Equal split on "pieces" delivered with "tiny" perforations was insufficient for large area with passive venting (without a fan). After "bait and switch" and first misrepresentation by subs on what I said, or what they said: I put everything in written fax to Mr. Kaller for MY protection, and out of respect for him. Could not know they went unread, and that office staff only ones there, and admitted couldn't understand technical matters in absence of Manager who promised "personal supervision" to get me to sign, then went on vacation, longer than represented. It was very upsetting for them to blame constant: "misunderstandings" or make decisions on "impressions" via the banter of subs, while ignoring my EXPLICIT words in faxes, phone messages, even signs on trucks…for men to show up for work. No show before/after July 4th, blaming me was laughable for extended weekend of vacation for subs. I told them: I communicate DIRECTLY and NOT to communicate via unreliable subs. They persisted. VERY unprofessional, and stressful. Don't appreciate "response" to my remarks claiming I "said or did" such and such, quoting subs. Not true..read the darn faxes. Couldn't explain why message left with one office worker didn't reach the Office Manager. Even another NO show after apology for "misundertanding." Manager demanded "substantial completion payment" in surprise Friday afternoon visit, without evidence of such, and despite paper contradicting and stating only 3 payments: deposit, half way, completion. Now 4th payment only 10% of contract . BE CAREFUL OF THIS. Was told job would be done in few days. This was a lie: workers took 3 weeks and STILL not done! I was ill that day, foolish to cave in to demand without objective proof. Should Not have paid without Ridge Vent critical to integrity of Roof and home. Waiting 7 hours for no show of appointment with Owner was inexcusable. Again; did not receive courtesy of phone call. Excuse that "thought" sub told me is rude, foolish, and unprofessional. Cancelled entire day, getting nothing else done, expecting him to "pop up" which is what company likes to do. NEVER ask: what time would it be convenient to meet. This is WORST Torch Roof job I've ever seen since 1979, and ALL houses in cul de sac have had Torch Roofs with wood done in ONE WEEK. Expected CREW to finish in 4 days. Wrong to blame ME: when only 2 people actually working. That's why I took bid with KALLER instead of individual with "helper" to speed up job, avoid dragged out mess. Was misled badly, then blamed for delay. Very tacky: constant pounding over bedroom fan, broke fan loose from mounts, motor was starting to break. Had to limp upstairs to turn off until repaired by electrician as approved by: OWNER who view it, and Manager, who agreed: Kaller's insurance didn't cover "electrical work," and offer of crew to fix wasn't sure if "wiring was involved." DISPUTING $203 repair of fan was legimate expense is phony! (I paid unnecessary $99 service contract, to bring price down from $265. Kaller is petty, greedy, pressing for more money, denying monies owed for credit on balance already faxed to office pursuant to agreement. VERY BAD. NEVER had this problem with Roofer. WHAT IS POINT OF GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE IF THEY DENY ALL DAMAGE, EVEN WHEN AGREED? FINALLY: according to independent inspectors: Kaller's "scorched" roof could FAIL and leak/fall in on me THIS winter, not the 20 years promised, and now not factory covered. I'm literally in fear for my life/survival in this house adapted to my disability. Kaller can render me homeless/destroy last investment (house) if they do NOT correct the problem of having done defective 4mm roof, and needing to go over it, perhaps with new base sheet (Ultraglass), and Flintlastic Adhesive white on black, then coating. Would NEVER permit TORCHING againg: seeing they have NO subs/employees capable of doing proper job. Neighbor house, vacant, 5 years because of leaky Torch jobs, NOT as bad as this. House was gutted to studs from water damage. New Roof should NOT End up costing over $23,000 and put me at risk! Kaller doesn't deserve 5 stars on this roof, or Angie's List.

Subpar work, Unethical:. Invalid Member AFRAID of being WITHOUT HOME! ******************************************************************************************************************************************************** Removal of 3layer Flintlastic 6 month old roofing from wood. Take pictures of condition/omissions on this roof; gave me CD. Small amount of wood replaced at peak to check for water damage; piece down from skylight replaced. Custom built aluminum vent built especially for this house. Wrong type delivered; proper one still not ordered. Originally to install Coolstar, white granules on white backing Torch roof over Ultraglass CertainTeed base. Said special order by pallet: said "resources" located in Arkansas, said ordered. BUT 3 days before job start: bait and switch pressure: refused to start job on time, unless I agree to "switch" to less expensive white on black product with coating. Failed to say 30 day period for coating or would not have agreed. Told up front special order by pallet only: Owner admitted in meeting: did not want to be "stuck" with extra rolls that couldn't be sold to supplier. Update 7/22: Did NOT respect this, especially when told that roof was scorched to point of having to be redone by 2 2 ASHI inspectors, etc. warning me job was ruined, could fail in winter. Kaller didn't count on my pictures/inspections since disabled, spinally injured. Supposed to apply APOC 247 white reflective coating, but roof ruined, will not be waterproof, scorched, could leak. Not permitting coating until matter addressed: redo, or another roofing base and top sheet over this. ALSO: supposed Integrity Warranty for 20 years in contract is not Enforceable against CertainTeed according to explanation from Legal Department at CertainTeed. Installer did NOT provide papers, say deposit necessary to be done, BEFORE construction begins. In Addition: told this type of warranty Not available on this type of roofing on residential jobs. Kaller has NOT responded that IT is now obligated to repair roof for 20 years. Bad, since told by Inspectors: scorching has voided CertainTeed Warranty. Tried to apply Firestone crystals (gray color/different white) OVER torched areas. Preventing continuing. Says only on "bleed" areas and edges, but eye view, and pictures showed otherwise. Also foolish: handfuls dropped in circles along scorched areas below/above seams…but several inches between crystal "dumps." Looked like gray dotted line. It would take a truckload of crystals, not 5 gallons to hide all scorch marks. On July 8th, arrived home from being forced to pick up another expensive ($138) roll of Coolstar white, when Kaller's crew unnecessarily removed my expensive/attractive Temporary Ridge Vent fabricated and installed by Master Carpenter. Refused repeatedly to recreate it with my aluminum, to ensure sufficient exhaust of hot air from soffits, and protect from rain, especially sideways. July 8th jerry-rigged version was crumpled "scrap" aluminum atop bare wood, on mashed black plastic: leaving holes for rodent to enter, and NOT protecting from sideways rain. Had to hire Carpenter a 2nd time to fabricate and install 2nd awning…but ugly, since placed OVER Kaller messs…so as not to disturb work done, no matter how ugly. Inspector AGREED NEW metal awning necessary to protect peak of roof/interior of house from rain. Kaller wrongly denying need for it, not wanting to pay for it. My homeowner's insurance REQUIRES that I prevent damage to house. I had to act immediately: asking Kaller was futile. They continued to deny need for rain and sufficient exhaust protection after removing my Temp Vent. Was very stressful since ceilings/rooms were getting very hot: condensation forming on one interior ceiling near peak…ceilings only 9" from CDX of roof. VERY stressed out about Kaller's Complaint about "not allowing them access" when received letter and photos asked for CertainTeed inspection since coating would be wrong, if roof has to be redone, or roofed over. PLUS: Kaller did NOT disclose 30 day wait period: 30 days has not passed since 7/8! VERY TACKY: making off with 1 of 2 extra roof rolls; had 1 in crawl space bought with my money, delivered to my site, here for 3 weeks. Kept for "emergency" repairs so no charge for purchase and "picking up materials!" Kaller wrong legally, nasty saying extra rolls belonged to Kaller.

Response from CD Kaller Inc
UPDATED AUGUST 8, 2011: There is no “Fraudulency” going on. In the countless facsimiles that have been sent back and forth between CD Kaller, Inc and the member we have addressed all of her concerns and have stated “Numerous” times, the additional Angie’s List discount will be applied upon completion of the job (which depends on the member) and final payment. CD Kaller, Inc has offered to have a “Professional Roofing Consultant” not a “Home Inspector” come out to look at the roof. Any repairs that need to be made upon completion of this inspection will be handled accordingly. The material will hold its warranty and be backed by the manufacturer, and the labor will be backed by CD Kaller, Inc. as stated in the contract. We have requested that the member call us so that we may go over her concerns, she has yet to do so. This “Bait & Switch” theory is getting old. These contracts were presented and explained and thoroughly gone over with the member who DOES NOT LACK Intelligence to insinuate we are trying to “rob” the member of her “Nest Egg” is insulting and uncalled for. We are a professional company that does 700+ residential jobs as well as multiple commercial jobs every year, with out having the issues as described in the member's report. We have been doing business in excess of 30 years. UPDATED JULY 22, 2011: We have not worked the project since her first report at her own direction. We are currently waiting to have an inspection by the manufacturer so they can assure her that the material and workmanship is more than acceptable for the 20 year warranty that will be issued upon completion and final payment. July 13, 2011: THIS JOB IS NOT COMPLETE, we have never said or implied this job was complete and it will not be complete until the final coating has been applied. This customer has had 3 roof systems installed by three different contractors in the last 2 years-??? We were referred to this customer by a local building product distributer, the roof we removed was not currently leaking and we offered to do repairs for her, she insisted on removing this roof and putting on a new one. The roof she originally ordered with us was a “Certainteed Coolstar” heat applied system which is what she stated her preference was at the time of sale. There was no “bait and switch” with this material. The original “Coolstar” was not locally available and would take several weeks depending on what distributers were ordering this material and when they had a full truck load. We offered the customer a roof with an equal 20 year warranty with improved reflectivity which is an upgrade at the same cost. The customer signed a change order approving this change. Pictures were taken during construction and will be provided at the completion of this project. Customer has constantly been slowing the production of the project with numerous interruptions and questions to the workman, office staff and Certainteed manufacturer. An email was even sent to the customer from Certainteed stating “I know you are concerned with the installation of the roofing system; however, I must advise that if you want your roof completed, please let the contractor do their work. They are a very good contractor and will complete your roof. But they need to have the space to perform that work.” As far as the coupon, the customer asked for the 15% discount after the date of sale and a 10% discount was already applied, our company and the customer agreed on an additional $500.00 discount that was listed on the same change order the customer signed for the skylight. Our coupon was supposed to have a disclaimer that had to be presented at time of sale and is being corrected; however, we will honor the 15% coupon, less what was already discounted. We have manned the worksite continuously when there was work to do. The date she stated she waited 7 hours for an appointment, I was informed from the men onsite after they spoke with her that everything was ok and that she was not expecting me. We never threatened to leave the job, we always had a temporary ridge vent in place, and she agreed to put the project on hold until Joe ( General Manager, Estimator ) returned from vacation to resolve the custom ridge vent design issue. Joe agreed to have a new custom ridge vent manufactured. Customer states that we broke a ceiling fan where in fact it was about a ¼” inch lower form the ceiling and we do not know if we actually caused that to happen, however; we did offer to resecure it. She then hired another contractor and sent us the bill. We have never accused her of being dishonest. We will resume the work and complete the project once the ridge vent issue is remanufactured, and all work will be performed as per the agreed contract and change orders. As Angie’s list is aware we have maintained a B rating or better and we are hoping that the customer will be happy with her 20 year warrantied roof system. Hopefully the customer will improve the grades she gave us. We are a certified contractor with Certainteed and most other manufactures of roofing, siding and windows which means we can offer long term warranties for labor and materials and our labor is also warranted by the manufacturer since we have their qualification and strict performance guidelines.

I needed an old copula removed from the roof over my garage. I contacted CD Kaller, Inc. and Kevin, an estimator, arrived in a reasonable amount of time. He was courteous, professional and told me what would be done in plain language. His quote was lower than others I had been given. About a week later, the crew arrived and the copula was removed and the hole patched over with plywood and shingles. All debris was cleared from the site. The job was completed in a very short time. These gentlemen were also courteous and professional. Although it was a small job, it was obvious this was the way they normally conducted business. I would definitely consider using CD Kaller in the future to replace my roof.

They were excellent. They were unbelievable. They got the job done really quickly and they cleaned up everyday. The clean up was excellent. The crew chief's name is Billy and they did a really fine job. I was pleased with their work. I have always had issues with water and I talked to Billy about that, and he explained alternatives. The man who came out to do the measurement and give the estimate was excellent too. He was very thorough with the contract, which explained everything they were going to do. They did everything they said they were going to do. The crew that did the work was really fast. The price was very reasonable.

I did not have a major roofing job to genuinely give a recommendation but even with the small problem that was fixed, I felt ripped off. I referred to Angie's List to find a roofer for a possible problem with my roof. I heard "dripping" after heavy rainstorm at the back of the house and thought it might be either a problem with the gutters or the roof. No damage to the house was evident. After calling 3 different roofing companies, a representative from C.D. Kaller called me back and arranged a meeting with me to discuss what might need to be done. He said possibly that the rubber vent collars needed to be replaced which may be causing the "dripping" sound. He informed time that he did not do any job less than $250 but charged me $200 since (what we thought at the time) it was only the one vent. He asked for half upfront ($100) which I gave him. I noticed that there were more vents at the front of the house and called him back to tell him. He said that he would charge me $65 more to do the other vents (3 total). The person who did the actual work was a Mr. Kalos. I do not recall his first name. I was not present when he did the job but he called and told me he completed the work. I did look at the vents and the collars did look different than before. I then received a bill for the balance of $100 but not $165 which was quoted to me. I paid the balance as stated on the bill (total $200). I received an invoice stating that the bill was paid in full and also a "Thank You" card for my patronage. After about a week, Mr. Kalos called me and said that I still owed $65 dollars. I asked him to please send another bill because the bill I had stated that I paid in full. He became irritated and said that he would send another bill. I then received a bill for $150. I called and asked the receptionist(?) why the bill was for $150 and not $65 that was quoted to me and I was not given a satisfactory explanation ("he fixed extra vents"). I even stated that I got their name from AngiesList.com. I paid the bill (total $350). As stated previously, I am not able to recommend this roofer for major roofing jobs but eventhough I had a small job, I still felt ripped off. They quoted one price then charged another after the work was done. Thanks for the forum. T. Montgomery
Description of Work: Three rubber roof vent collars which were rotting were replaced. No damage to the actual roof or house.

From my initial encounter with this company, I was impressed by the politeness and professionalism of the staff, from the office administrators, to the estimator. The office administrators were very polite, and informative. Kevin, who came to survey my project, and give me his estimate, was both informative and very personable. I chose this company, because of this, and because their estimate , compared to another Angie's list company I had used, seemed very reasonable. The workers installing my roof confirmed my favorable impression of this company. The workers arrived promptly, worked very diligently to remove the old roof, and then install the new one efficiently and professionally. While working they used tarps to shield my house from debris, and then in addition to carefully carting away all old roof debris, they assiduously raked, and swept to clear up any mess. CD Kaller gave me an estimate, which was significantly lower than another roofter on Angie's list ($1000 cheaper). Their service was outstanding.
Description of Work: An older roof over a screened porch had some rot underneath, there were several layers of old roof which needed to be removed before the plywood base could be replaced and a new roof installed. The workers removed the old layers of roofing, replaced the rotted plywood portion, installed a new roof, cleaned up, and scrupulously removed all debris.

The estimator who came out to the house flat-out told us not to get a roof from a certain other company (without anyone evening mentioning them). I thought this was very unprofessional. And for the record, we got an estimate from said company and went with them for the work and are very pleased.
Description of Work: We only got an estimate on a roof. Price was $3000+ over the contractor we went with. Some of their recommendations were against code.

The work that they did was great. I was very happy with their service. They were prompt. They did the job quickly. They did a nice job cleaning up. I would recommend them to others that they are reliable and would have them do my roof again. They did a good job. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used CD Kaller Inc to put on a brand new roof for me. They also repaired the gutters.

CD Kaller Inc. seemed overwhelmed with the amount of work they had to do. The windows that they installed were not quite up to the quality of what we had anticipated. The installation of these windows were somewhat problematic and we had to have someone from the company and the manufacturer look at the window installation. It turned out that our windows weren't custom made at all.
Description of Work: CD Kaller Inc. installed custom made windows on our home.

We kind of have periodic roof problems and they been here a lot over the last three years. It is an old roof, and we have a partial slate roof and a partial flat rubber roof so there are a lot of seams keeping them together and there has been a lot of water penetration where different seams come together. They replaced a lot of roof valleys for us and did routine slate maintenance and then they replaced the skylight for us and last winter we had icefall and ended up pulling a part of the rubber roof where the gutter is and they had to replace all of that. They did take care of the problem and they are reasonably priced. However, sometimes they are not all that reliable with the routine slate maintenance. We had to make sure they were actually doing it. Every year with each of those things we spent between $1000 and $3000. The skylight was maybe a little bit more. We have looked for other roofers and we can?t find anyone who is as affordable. They are not perfect but they are affordable and they seem to do decent work. When we first started using them, they were having trouble with their front office, and there were some issues with checks going where they were supposed to go and things like that. I don?t know if that issue has been resolved. I would continue to use them again in the future.

I spent $100 on the job. I have used them before. I have been using them for several years. They do good work. They don?t charge a lot. They are very thorough and I really think they go above and beyond in what they do. Sometimes, they do things that I have not asked them to do because they think it should be done. I will use them again in the future.

It was a positive experience. At the end of the day the scope of the work changed. I called them back. It got complicated and I never got the complete estimate that I wanted. We lost touch. I was relatively pleased.
Description of Work: I had them out and they gave me an estimate for what I wanted at the time. It was for reshingling the roof and for roof repair.

The work was done as scheduled. I have noticed that there is damage, scratches etc on some of the materials during installation. Time will tell if these areas rust or peel. The clean up could have been a lot better. Found many pieces of sharp, cut material on the lawn and in the flower beds. We were not able to be on the lawn without footwear until we got it all cleaned up. It has been over two months and we still have their signage. We have called twice to ask to have it picked up and still no response. Very fast though to drop by and pick up the check ummmmm?
Description of Work: All of the downspouts were replaced and gutter guards were installed on two gutters. There was also some repair work that had to be done.

We talked to 6 companies and received six estimates using Angie's List as our primary resource. Our initial discussions with each of the 6 companies turned out to be a learning experience, and our original ideas changed as we learned more about various approaches to what we were attempting to accomplish. Kaller's (pronounced like "Taylor" with a "K") estimate was not the lowest of the top three candidates we eventually considered, but all 3 were very close and Kaller's quote was the most detailed. Kaller's thoroughness left us believing that their quote was less prone to "surprises" than other quotes. Kaller supplied the references we requested. There were 3 specific details we wanted clarified in the contract (nitpicky to be sure), and they were accomodated easily, i.e., with no "just trust me" attitude. We appreciated that. We also saw the "C.D. Kaller" signs around our township and that was reassuring. They showed up when they said they would with a typical crew size of 5. The crew conducted themselves well. They were courteous, friendly, and respectful of our neighborhood with their language. They told us what precautions to take during construction (e.g., remove pictures and knickknacks from exterior walls). Replacing the railing was an add-on that we negotiated during the other work, and they accomodated our request easily. They cleaned up after their work pretty well, especially on the inside while installing the windows. We were a little disappointed with the amount of construction refuse left behind from the new siding. We talked to the Foreman about this and were satisfied with his response. The clean up effort after that discussion was very good. We were very pleased with the way C.D. Kaller communicated with us, the thoroughness of their quote, the quality of their work, and the value of the result based on the money we invested. We would definitely do business with them again.
Description of Work: Old aluminum siding replaced with new vinyl siding (on 2nd floor above brick-sided 1st floor). Gables, fascia and soffits capped with aluminum siding. Winter-damaged gutters/downspouts replaced with new seamless gutters/downspouts. Original double-hung windows (16) replaced with new energy-efficient windows and capped the window frames with aluminum. Old wooden deck railing replaced with new vinyl-covered aluminum railing.

They did a wonderful job. They cleaned up very well after the job, including the garden which was quite messy. They were prompt and came back with the best estimate compared to two other vendors. I have since used them to replace my gutters as well.

We were very satisfied with the work that was completed. Their price was considered medium to high on range, but they also do high quality of work. Compared to other companies I have used, this company was very good. The only problem I had was when they were finished, they promised photographs, and we still have not received them. We know they did the job correctly because it remedied the problem, but we were very interested in seeing the work they had done with the photographs. Overall, we were happy with how quick the job was done and the finished product. We are currently looking into this company for an estimate on a job for our multi-level roof home.
Description of Work: We were experiencing leaking problems on our ceiling due to our roof. We hired this company to put on a new roof and also replaced the skylight.
