Very satisfied with the work. Communication was good and they emailed me pictures of all of the finished work. They fixed the roof leak around the skylight, did additional sealing all around the flat roof, installed a brand new downspout and a new downspout heat wire, along with additional chimney work. They ran the extra wire length in a zig zag on the flat roof to assist in the melting of accumulated snow. They also primed the metal chimney boxes so they stop rusting. Price was reasonable given the amount of work and the quality of the work. More importantly, they fixed the roof leak when another roofer said he couldn't and would have to replace both skylights for double the price. I will definitely be using them again for my next flat roof maintenance and I have recommended other people on my street with similar flat roofs to use this company for their repairs as well. They know what they are doing when it comes to flat roofs which many roofers these days do not. A+

The work was well done and scheduled much sooner that other contractors I contacted. Original quote was not for the entirety of the work that I had intended due to misunderstanding or miscommunication. Was quickly resolved (at additional cost). Overall cost was still comparable to others quotes and final product was very good.

The problem was diagnosed and resolved within one day. The workmen were professionals who took care to explain precisely what the problem was and how they proposed resolving it. The crew did the work efficiently and we have had no problem since then.

They returned my initial call quickly and set an appointment to come see the work to be done. Were able to do the work within a couple weeks. I had to reschedule when they wanted to come and they were able to come 2 weeks later. Overall satisfied with the job.

We called for an estimate. The estimater called us back the same day. He came out the next day and gave us the estimate in writing. He was very helpful in answering our questions. After we agreed to go ahead with the work, the job forman stopped by and examined the project. About a week later he called to make sure it was OK to begin the work the next morning. The work crew came when they said they would. Everything seemed to go OK. They made doing this complex job look easy. The people on the crew were very pleasant and answered our questions. They cleaned up before leaving. The finished work looks very good. We are pleased with how it turned out.

They were reasonable and knowledgeable.

They were one of the few providers who showed up when they said they would for an estimate. Their price seemed fair to me for what was required. They also helped me out with a longstanding siding issue in the front of the house. Also, their prompt attention prevented further siding deterioration. They did an excellent job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

His price was reasonable compared to the other estimates. We got what we felt was a better estimate from another company and they seemed to have a little more experience with a slate roof. Our insurance carrier was paying for the damage, so they played a role in the selection as well. They are a good company. The guy came right out. He was very prompt in getting me the estimate. The estimate was in line with a couple of the other estimates that we've got.

They were very professional and they did the job very quickly. I did have to call them back because the shingles did end up coming up, so they came back to fix it.

From start to finish, the process was extremely professional as well as personable. Curt was out to my house and took all the measurements, explained the process to me in detail. When all the items came in Billy and his crew were out at my home and did a terrific job. Chalie did a great job with the power washing. I was extremely pleased with everything.

We have used CD Kaller in the past. They were prompt. They are quick to respond. They still do a good job and they are very professional. They were a little high on the price of the new roof. The repair was reasonable. We chose them for the new roof because we knew their reputation and they do good work so, I was willing to pay a little bit more. I would use them again.

They were on time and in Budget. Cleaned up very well during and after job .

The guy that I got the quote was very good. He is informative and pretty good in explaining. He also understood what I want to be done.

We are very pleased with them. They did a fine job. They did what they were supposed to do. We would use them again.

CD Kaller came in person, and accepted a credit card, both fantastic services. However when they estimated roof re-silvering and repairs, they did not include the built-in gutter system on our Victorian house. So they did not do it. This was not explained to me. However when we noticed we still had a leak, they came back and said the leak was coming from this built-in gutter system. So we set up a new appointment to check and repair the built in gutters. They were nice enough to charge only 50% of what they said they would normally charge. However the leak was not repaired. We still have a leak.

The work done for me was quite a while ago, but I thought that I'd better share this experience with Angie's List. I had C.D. Kaller replace my roof back in 1996. Because I have a low pitched roof, I paid extra for ice shield over the entire roof rather than just the bottom 3 feet which is more typical. In 2009, when I was remodeling my kitchen, I discovered that my kitchen cabinets had almost completely rotted away due to a roof leak over many years. I had C.D. Kaller come out and check the roof. They said that nothing was wrong but a few popped nails. They hammered a few down and left. I installed my new kitchen, and a year later I discovered water stains on the ceiling of my kitchen where the previous damage had occurred. There is nothing between the kitchen ceiling and the roof, so the problem had to be with the roof. I called Kaller again. Same result. They knocked down a few nails. I asked why the ice shield wasn't protecting the roof and was told that the ice shield dries out after a couple of years and doesn't help much after that. Really? Then why did I pay extra for something that only helps for two years on a 30 year roof? Months later, same problem. Called another roofer. They said that the shingles weren't exactly laid properly, but they hammered down whatever nails they found that had popped and covered them with sealant. A year later, same problem. I had a few roofing contractors come out for estimates. They all told me that the shingles weren't laid correctly. I just had the entire roof replaced. What an eye opener that was! The shingles hadn't overlapped properly. Slots in the shingles were directly over nail holes where water could get in. When they removed the shingles, every piece of plywood was soaked. The plywood used was only 3 ply, less than 3/8" thick. There was no venting to prevent condensation. And the kicker was that instead of putting the ice shield on the plywood directly, they had laid the ice shield on top of the roofing paper! That's a little like trying to make a paper bag waterproof by Scotch taping the outside. Overall, a completely incompetent and unprofessional job. I wish that I could make them pay for the poor job and years of aggravation and damage, but it's been so long that I have no recourse. I took pictures and kept samples of their work just in case.

They were here a week after Hurricane Sandy. I called them two days after the hurricane once we realized we had the damage. They were here the next day to take a look to see if I needed tarping done. The work was complete within a week. I couldn't be home when they came out to take a look at the damage and when they repaired the damage. They're fantastic and were completely accommodating. They cleaned up after themselves and you won't find one nail anywhere. I've been a homeowner for 22 years. I've had three houses and they are the only ones I will use for my roofing.

They did everything that they said they would do. I had to have them come back because there was a leak somewhere. The price was good. They came back when I called them.

I would not recommend them for roofing. It took longer than it should have, and they did damage to a lot of the shrubs around the house. We ended up having a leak where we didn't have one, due to poor construction. They came out and fixed it but had additional damage from that. The flat roof cracked a month after the work was done and the other roof started leaking 6 months after they did the work.

They are pleasant, on time and neat. They knew what they were doing and were efficient.

We were pleased with the quality of work and the workers. The price was in line with other estimates we had received. The only problem we had was with a piece of siding that was a different color, and they told us to call them and they would come out and paint it for us, I just haven't called them back. The office staff were very good and responsive also. We called them back for an estimate on windows and their estimator was out of line speaking to me out of the way and the bid was way too high. I would recommend them as to the quality of work, but I don't think we will be using them because of the high big and the attitude of the estimator.

They told me they no longer do tar roofs with felt. As part of the original contract I was told that I needed a new eave box. They said they have a new system that they put on that is supposed to be good. My roof is old, but it's not leaking but I can no longer go up and check every year. I contracted them to do this service. After installing the new eave box, my roof began to leak which it did not do before. Apparently, the leak came through where they put in the new eave box where it wasn't sealed properly. When I heard them cutting a hole in the roof, I asked what they did. I asked how well they built it up, and they said they put one layer of membrane in. I expected it to be built up like it was previously. The first time I called them out was in November. My skylight on the lower level roof was leaking, which it never did before. They said a lot of people have had the same problem and it was normal. I explained that it didn't do that prior to them putting the new roof on. We had a large ice storm that occurred in February 2011, and there isn't usually a problem with flat roofs and ice. It leaked about 20 gallons of water. When the general manager came out, he took a picture of the roof with his cell phone. The general manager said that I could submit the problem to my insurance company. They came and explained that 'there was ice on the roof', and that's what happens when you get an ice jam. I said that it was not leaking before you replaced the eave box. I called the owner finally, and he asked 'if water was coming in now?'. The owner tried to insinuate that he had a picture of the ice to prove that it wasn't their fault. I explained that we've had ice before, and it never leaked. I said that 'well since there is no ice, rain, or precipitation then no.' He replied 'well what's your problem?'. I was told that if I kept calling, then they would begin to charge me to have people come out. I explained that I wouldn't be calling if it was done right and wasn't leaking. When they put the roof up, I asked for a written guarantee of the workmanship. The general manager explained he already had a crew ready to go, and he would get me the guarantee. I called and spoke with a receptionist who said she couldn't help because she was new. When I spoke to the GM again, he said he would send something. I received a copy of the guarantee that comes with the product they used on my roof, but not the workmanship. To this day I still haven't received a guarantee for the workmanship. However, it would do no good to me now as the workmanship was no good to begin with. They did not seal the roof properly, and did not install it properly. When I asked the guys who put it up if it was good, no one would give me an answer. I've tried to call them again, but they didn't really want to talk to me.
