C & C Family Roofing & Siding

C&C responded quickly to the request to replace the roof "above the sunroom" and gave a good estimate and I was very satisfied. Then, the roof began to leak. They came out and found that they had missed some flashing (I think that's the term) that went over a hole at the end of the roof. They replaced it. And directed me to the small print at the bottom of the contract signed that said they are not responsible for any leak in the home as a result of their work. WOW. Also, at this time, I found that they only replaced 3 or so feet above the sun room..there had been confusion about the phrase "above the sunroom". I accepted this but then the roof was still leaking. They said it was the sun room but it had never leaked since its installion 2 years before. They came back out to discover the trim had been covered over rotting wood...so they fixed that. However, the roof continued to leak. So, I called and asked to speak with the owner. I was of course upset because my ceiling in the kitchen was now caving in and he was NOT very customer friendly. He was defensive, accusatory and non-sympathetic. He stated that he would have to come out and review the work himself. When he came, he wasn't any nicer. He used the hose and took almost 20 minutes shoving water in to corner cracks and a new identified hole (which magically appeared) to make the water to begin leaking. He said they would not correct, at his expense, the leak...as it was above the shingles they had added. But, quoted $350 on top of what was already paid. I decline and had some patches done by another roofer. I would not recommend C&C roofing to anyone, ever. I'm suprise to see them in Angie's List.

Excellent experience overall. The estimator, Ed, showed up right on time, knew his stuff, and explained the options to me. I had other estimates and these guys were in the middle. The five man installation crew, lead by Wilson, was fast, thorough, quiet, and efficient. Their cleanup at the end of the job was excellent. There were no surprises. I'd recommend and use C & C again.

They came out and repaired the spot that was leaking. They made multiple return trips to repair this spot. Each time the leak has not been fixed. They have been courteous and friendly up to this point, but I feel like it should be fixed by now. They have not returned my calls since their most recent visit.

This is a large outfit. I called after a huge storm and they said they would call me the day before they could come out. The next day a roofer arrived at my house, measured the footage and was ready to go. The roofer was a woman, who was unquestionably one of the best roofers I have had work on my house. She explained everything she did and saw. She came upon several wasp nests and fearlessly used my spray on them. She worked on the other side while waiting for the spray to work. She put "hangers" on my gutter where it had started to separate from the roof. I was so glad I didn't have to spring for new gutters. She was pleasant and knew her stuff.

I thought the price was high. They did a good job and I have recommended them to othere.

Out of 3 companies that came out to give us an estimate, they were the only company to check all 4 of our dormers for damage. Although only 1 was leaking at the time, they were able to determine that all 3 were damaged and they did indeed have leaks that just had not made it through the walls and ceilings adjacent to the dormers yet. Their repair price for all 4 dormers was the same or less than the quoted prices from the 2 other firms for just 2 dormers. They were able to schedule us fairly quickly, and the day they came out and did the work we did not need to be home. They left our property with minimal disturbance, we could not even tell they had come and finished repairs until we checked the crawl spaces around the dormers and saw brand new plywood where repairs had been completed. Once they opened up those sections of the roof they determined some additional repair work needed to be done. They did this work with no additional charge to us. We are extremely pleased with this company and will be calling them when we need a full roof replacement sometime within the next 5 years. We have had no evidence of any water leaks in the area they repaired since repairs were completed.

The workers at C&C were punctual and came in at the time they said. They did my large, complicated roof within two days. The crew couldn't have been nicer. They immediately repaired a problem that they found.

Bruce showed up on time for estimate.. Went over everything that was in the estimate, pointing out what would be done and where. Crew showed up on time for the job and worked late, finishing the job in 2 days - quicker than I anticipated. Tarps were spread out to protect bushes and plantings. Cleanup was thorough, with a crew returning another day to ensure that all nails and shingles pieces wee cleaned up from bushes and driveway. One piece of flashing was bent, they returned and replaced it a day after I called. Very satisfied with the quality and professionalism of Bruce, the Work leaders, and the workers.

They responded quickly with an estimate when we called and did the work in a timely manner. This was important to us since it was due to rain in the next day or so and we did not like having shingles missing on our roof. They matched the color of the shingles as close as they could. We had asked for an estimate from another company and this company had finished the work by the time we even got an estimate from the other company. They did the work and they cleaned up all debris including the shingles that had been blown off.

Called C&C and Dennis came out to my in-laws house to do an estimate (we got 3 prices). Dennis's manner and style was very good and my in-laws liked him a lot. C&C was 10% higher than the lowest price, so i called Dennis and asked him what was included in his price. i let him know he was high. he looked into the matter and called me back within 1/2 hour and we agreed on a price and time-frame. They did a great job and were respectful of my in-laws, and cleaned up very well too. i'd recommend them and use them myself.

Arrived promptly for estimate. Estimate was emailed to me within 2 hours. Called to schedule work within about 3 weeks of accepting estimate, however only one days notice of when work would occur. Crew arrived promptly and immediately began to work. Crew leader informed me of every step, and allowed me to inspect work as progressing. The crew continued working, with short breaks for water, until job was complete. Clean up was thorough.

They were there when they said they would be; did the job in a day; everything was done and cleaned up. There were some problems afterward, but they are addressing those.

He came on time, gave a written estimate on the spot. So far they have the best price.

Appointment was made promptly and courteously. Roofer was prompt and professional.

I would never recommend their work to anyone. They cannot even guarantee their work. They have 24 hr. answering service, but I don't know why because there is no after hour call backs or weekend work. This company is the reason I joined Angie's List and I am very surprised to see them on it at all. It makes me wonder about Angie's List.

After a 24 hour delay due to high winds, the project was completed in one day! Not only did we get a new roof, but they cleaned the gutters, re-mounted our satellite dish (which did not void our warranty, as at least one other roofer said it would), and raked all of the detritus out of our yard, leaving it cleaner than when they got there! All of this was done for what was also one of the lowest of three estimates.

Bruce was very congenial and assured us that all of our concerns would be considered (like covering the landscaping w/tarps and little buckets to protect it). The day the roofers came was a Sat. and they completed the job quickly but with absolutely no consideration of our property. There were no buckets covering the plants and the tarp blew off almost immediately and was never put back. I called Bruce to discuss what was happening and he was annoyed that I was interrupting his Saturday. After the second call, he did come by but not happily. They did damage plants but did reimburse us for the cost. He also overestimated on the square footage even though they had already done several of the same model house in our area. We came home to find an entire bundle of shingles left over which they also reimbursed us for but only after several phone calls. We've never had a problem with the roof but the experience was awful. They were great at the sale but not the follow up.

The man who gave me an estimate was excellent. He sat down with me to give me the information about warranties, pricing and the details of how the job would be done. The crew was prompt and only took one day to complete the work. The clean up was superb, you couldn't even tell they were here. I like that they take the trash and debris from the work with them instead of leaving it in my yard.

The company has been in business for 35 plus years. I was extremely pleased with the work ethic. They arrived on time. Their efficiency was tremendous. Unfortunately, I do not recall the price but it was within the fair market value.

C&C Roofing was great! They started around 7:30 am and from the time that the forman knocked on the door, I didn't see them stop working, but for a few minutes for lunch. The job was cleaned well, gutters were tightened and all was done in one day. Bruce was great in explaining the roofing system. None of the other roofing companies did. They were as professional as any other contractor that has worked on my house.

Bruce was the C&C representative and he was professional and responsive. Although there was a delay in the beginning because of the summer rush, once they secured the permit the work was done quickly. We did have an issue with the shingles and seamless gutter but Bruce was have responsive and rectified the issues promptly.

While the general work was decent and acceptable, I did not enjoy the experience of working with C & C. I felt that the workmanship could have been better on the roof. Though I can not confirm this, it appeared that they subcontracted 2nd-rate workers who could have been more meticulous on the finer details - such as opening window cappings and flat sections of roofs to fit the shingles, and replacing of these areas without gaps. Some sealing and caulking work was not very neat either. And it took an extra week just to convince them that they need to redo these areas so that it didn't look choppy. This was an extra week of frustration I could have done without.

I found out after the work was completed that C&C has a coupon circulating that offered the same service for much less than I paid. Call me a fool for letting them overcharge me! The clincher was: a few months after the service was performed, in the winter, after a particularly windy day, the gutter in the back overhanging a skylight came loose. Snow was in the forecast and I was certain that the weight of the snow would cause the gutter to come loose, fall and break the skylights. I called C & C and begged them to come out right away. I was told the scheduler was not available and I would be contacted ASAP. I was never called back. I was lucky enough to have someone else come out right away to secure the hanging gutters and possibly save me the added expense of replacing the skylight. A couple of months later, after another windy day, the gutters on my garage come loose. I did not even bother calling C&C this time. I will NEVER ever use this company again.

Easy to work with. Foreman and crew were very polite and courteous. They had estimated three days, but job actually took just two full days. They did an excellent job in cleaning up the work site. One of the more reasonably priced contractors from whom estimates were received.
