Description of Work: Refinished floors in my kitchen and dining room. Went generally as advertised. I was a bit miffed when we were charged $150 to move one piece of furniture out and then back the next day (took less than five minutes each time) despite the stated charge for furniture moving being $75 per hour. Also the first coat of sealer didn't "take" in some of the worn areas and required a return visit. Those areas still aren't quite as well protected as the rest of the floor, and I may have them come back again.

Description of Work: Sandfree provided an estimate for refinishing our living room, stairs and hallway floors. The price was very reasonable and I really appreciated Brian's quick turnaround with my estimate. Jen was professional and pleasant and took time to answer all of my questions. In the end, we chose a different route for our 85 year old flooring, but I was impressed with Sandfree's quick response and professionalism.

Description of Work: After calling Jen I realized that we needed sanding of the floors not the sandless application. This will cost double the price and will be longer in time. We do not have the extra funds at the moment. The company was very helpful and we may save up and come back to them in the future. Thank you for your help with this matter. Description of Work: Total refinish of living and dining room floors. Some disappointment with the fine bubbles in the polyurethane finish. Otherwise, the floors have an obvious updated and clean look to them. Beautiful!

Description of Work: We needed to remove the carpet in most of our house for medical reasons. They were quick to respond when asked for an estimate and were very upfront about the two options for wood floor refinishing, cleaning and refinish or sanding and refinish. Cost estimates were provided for both. To my knowledge they are the only company in the area that will do the refinishing without sanding. Our home is 60 years old and has been carpeted since we moved in 18 years ago. When the carpet was removed the wood was in reasonably good shape so we did move forward with the clean and refinish option. While it probably does not look quite as good as the sanding option would have provided it was one thousand dollars less, had less down time, and still resulted in a very nice final product. I also liked the fact they used the more expensive water based finish, as it dries much faster and does not give off the VOCs that oil base finishes do. Both Jen and Bryon were nice to work with and I would highly recommend them and their process.

 + -1 moreWe had hardwood floors refinished (sanded and re-stained) in our hallway. We were trying to match up the 2 bedrooms. The stain didn't quite match and the Sandfree process doesn't compare to having the floor sanded. I was hoping this process would have been a little closer to having the floors re-sanded and it wasn't but the 2 men that were here were very professional and informative (telling us each step they were doing in the process)

 + -1 moreTomorrow I am moving into my new to me home and it has such beautiful refinished floors thanks to these guys. This house was built in 1960 and the bedrooms had been refinished when it was new but the living areas were always carpeted and when the rug was taken up it exposed some big rusty nail holes and some rough areas and various stains on the original untreated wood. They removed the closet doors and pulled up the tracks in each of the bedrooms and did inside the closets and replaced the tracks and the doors work better than before. I also had them replace all the old round. They did a great job and I heartily recommend them to everyone. My son came to help me do some painting and he thought they looked great too.
Description of Work: Brian and crew of 1 refinished all the floors in the home I just purchased. Brian replied quickly to my phone call and we set an appointment to view the work. He guided me through the possibilities and gave me a price after I told him my choices. Both men were reliable, skilled and courteous at all times. Payment was half at contract time and half on completion. He had told me it would take 3 days for all the steps to be done and job was completed on time. My floors are beautiful!

Prompt call backs, arrived each meeting at the exact time or a bit earlier every time, and the quality of works was impecable all at a price that was off the charts. I first spotted the Sandfree van in the area where I live. Checking them out I found them on Angie's List and when the local carpet store where I do business also reccomended them, it seemed like a winner. They blew away my expectations in every way including an exact color match of stain to an adjacent room refinished 7 years ago. It was such a joy to work with a contractor who is on time , does quality work, does exactly what he says without any problems at all. If you want a quality floor refininsh contractor look no further than Bryon Whipkey and Sanfree here in Pittsburgh, PA.

After shopping around we decided to get the Sandfree refinishing, which was about half the price of getting the floor completely sanded and refinished. Sandfree was about 20 minutes late each time they came to the house but both times they called ahead to let us know they were running late. Did the whole job in about 4 hours. After inspecting the floor there were a handful of spots that were missed, but they came back a day later to finish the job with no extra charge. Overall we're very satisfied with the work and the price.

 + -1 moreThey did a great job. They were extremely responsive and prompt when responding to my calls, providing an estimate and doing the work. There were a few times when they had started the work when they had questions and they called me right away and even sent pictures of the particular issues. At the last minute, they had to put down new treads on the stairs and they took me through all of the options and were able to do what I requested right away. The floors all look phenomenal - just like the beautiful floors in the rest of the house.
Description of Work: They took up old carpet and uncovered and finished very old floors in a guest bedroom and on a back stairwell.
