Sandfree

Bryon and his crew were excellent. Floors are red oak and were structurally good but the finish and scratches were bad enough that we couldn't go with the Sandfree process and did the sanding. They came out beautiful. I was extremely pleased too with the absolute minimal dust. The equipment they use is virtually dust free! We hadn't moved in yet so there was no furniture to be moved etc. Baseboards and walls had some staining on them but this is fully disclosed up front that it can happen so wait to do your painting. I found that it comes right off with magic eraser! We are replacing all the baseboards anyway so I didn't mind at all. The floors are absolutely fantastic and the entire job took 3 days which was faster than I had expected. The price very competitive and their reviews were great. I am very happy that I chose them!

We are very pleased with the results. The floors look great. There were a couple spots that needed to be touched up, but Bryan fixed them to our satisfaction. We did have to paint all of the baseboards afterward because they had stain on them, but this is not expensive - just time consuming. FYI - to paint white baseboards with stain on them you need to paint with an oil-based primer first, then after it cures for 4-5 days you can follow up with latex paint. The finished product looks great! We are so glad that we went with Sandfree.

Awesome is all I have to say. If you're going to have something as unpleasant as this done, you want the folks doing it to really know what they're doing; and these guys do. They arrived exactly when they said they would & got right to work. No hitches; no issues. The sanding and staining was done day 1, the urethane coating day 2. They removed and replaced all my furniture quickly and professionally. If they ever give up floor refinishing, they could start a moving company :-). I didn't have much hope for my floors as they are 50 years old and spent most of that time covered by carpet. There were dark spots and stains I wasn't sure would come up. But they turned out wonderful! I wanted a nice soft, nature finish and that's exactly what I got. The finish is also standing up well to my 3 large dogs & their nails. Thanks, Sandfree!

Came in and did service when and time period they promised. We did not like the final product, due to the damage of our floors and they said there may be a problem with the large scratch marks that we made. They came back and sanded and refinished out floors with a credit of what we spent on the original contract of just sandless refinishing. They were wonderful to work with. I would recommend them to anyone.

The company was very good and knowledgeable and do not try to oversell product. My issue was not going to be resolved by their process.

Arrived on time. Very courteous and professional. Completed the work in a timely manner. Scheduled them for another refinish project will they were here doing the floor.

I wanted them to come before hand to a**** my floors since I initially bought the Sandless Hardwood Floor Refinishing Big Deal. My floors were covered with carpet which I got rid of about 2 years ago and had a few pet urine spots which I wanted removed. We decided to go for the sanding process which was different from the sandless Big Deal. They gave me a call the day before the schedule day just to confirm. I was off the week I scheduled the work which worked great since I had to move all the furniture from the living room, a bedroom and an office to the basement. Brian came around 8am with two helpers. The first day was all sanding. I was pleased there was little sand on the window sills, fans and blinds. The second was staining and coating of urethane. The third day they came and install the baseboards. They did a great job with the baseboards. The first floor before refinishing the floors looked antiquated but after the floors were done the first floor looks inviting and modern. I am very pleased and I will hired them again.

I had originally planned to have Bryon remove the carpeting in the living room, dining room, and a small adjacent hallway, and to rejuvenate the existing oak floor underneath with their sand-free system. However, when the carpet was removed, we found that the floor was not salvageable. Sections of the floor had been replaced with plywood where old vents had been located. And there were hundreds of nails that had been nailed through the floor surface into the joists below (probably to get rid of squeaking). So Bryon said he would install whatever flooring I bought for $3/sq foot, plus a little extra to install the transitions to the adjacent rooms. I purchased oak flooring, underlayment, and matching transitions at my local big-box store. Bryon and his crew did a professional, fantastic job with carpet removal, floor preparation, undercutting of the door trims, and floor installation. It's amazing how much nicer the first floor looks now! The guys cleaned up after themselves, except that they didn't realize that all the hammering led to a lot of debris showering down onto the basement floor. I called up Jennifer in the office about this and she said she would send the guys back to sweep up the basement, but I told her not to bother. It wasn't difficult to sweep the concrete basement floor. Bryon and Jennifer were extremely easy to deal with. They're both nice people and very quick to respond to my emails and calls. I would definitely use Sandfree again for my next floor job.

We had purchased a "Big Deal" at a cost of $399 for 250 sq ft of "Sandfree" method for refinishing hardwood floors, any area over and above 250 sq ft at a cost of $2.25 per sq ft. Cost of project approx. $471. Had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday 12/17 at 11 AM. Bryon was very punctual and professional. After examining the floor and discussing with my wife and myself about his concern about a few stains and how he did not think the "Sandfree" method would satisfactorily remove them........ We decided to have him do a "traditional" sanding job. Allow me to add that this was totally our decision and in NO WAY felt pressured or swayed by Mr. Whipkey. He returned on Friday the 19th at precisely 10 AM with one helper and by 2 PM the floors were sanded and stained. Mr. Whipkey then promptly returned Saturday morning, the 20th to apply the finishing coats. One coat of high quality polyurethane every two hours. First coat at 10, second coat at 12 and the third coat at 2. He cautioned us not to tread on the floors for at least 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. After 24 hours of curing we could replace our furniture. Area equaled approximately 282 sq ft, end cost was $750. That works out to $2.68 per square ft. Although more than we initially expected, it is still a good price if you have been looking at what contractors are charging for a project like this. We are very pleased with the results and think Bryon Whipkey is a dependent, diligent and honorable contractor. I wish I were able to include pictures. We will be utilizing his expertise again this spring/summer to refinish our three bedrooms. He believes that these rooms will be able to have the "Sandfree" method. Therefore making it a little less expensive job than a traditional sanding method.

The company is absolutely fantastic, but I just can't get the job done currently. This is best group I have worked with in a long while. When I am prepared to do the work, I will definitely be going with them. Their price was the best and considerably better than the 2 other companies I spoke with.

They completed the work on our second floor. They sanded and refinished all of the hardwood. There were additional costs because the areas we had the work done was larger than what the deal covered. They completed the work in two days. On the first day, they completed the sanding and one coat of refinishing. On the second day, they came back to put on another coat. The work they did was great and we are happy with them.

They did a fabulous job. The floors were too damaged to use the dustless method. They removed all animal urine stains, even those that were there from previous owner. The house is over 120 years old. They were so respectful and careful about everything. I decided to stain the floors myself, to save money. They were professional and did an amazing job.

Everything turned out well, and we were happy with the experience. The gentleman really listened to our expectations for the project, made helpful recommendations as to how to meet those expectations, and was very accommodating and friendly. I also scheduled some time with his wife who is an interior designer, and she provided great advice too.

Looks good. Process is an abrasive pad that scrubs the floors with a water based detergent. Does a good job but does not get to stains or discolored areas (from the sun). One day job includes three coats of sealer and stain. Certainly a good choice given the price, cleanliness and speed.

Jim, the owner scheduled the appointment and gave a fair quote; he was vey professional and was very good in his communication. Mark & Mike did the actual job abd were wonderful; Punctual, professional, and very knowledgeble. They lest the house wias clean as possible. They were very easy to get in contact with and were able to answer any questions we had. We had originally attempted to do the Sand Free process but our floor did not take well to it in some places. They were very quick to reschedule to redo the floors. They were very friendly and professional and did great work. We love our "new" floors. We would definitely consider them again in the future.

It worked out fine. I paid more than the "Big Deal" only for work that was extra that I requested. The quality of my floors made it so they couldn't do the sand free but they did a really good job at covering existing countertops covered and what not. They did a really nice job.

Results not like new, but as good as could be expected for a no-sand finish on an 18 year old floor that was faded in spots and had considerable wear and tear from multiple dogs and cats. We're happy with the results.

They arrived on time, and worked full days to complete the job. Sanding was the longest, about 2 1/2 days, so we know the floors were done right. We choose to use an oil base polyurethane (we had used it in the past) and the application and drying time was extended. (Again, we knew this.) Our floors are gorgeous and we are very pleased with the results. We had just had our walls and baseboards painted, and the painters put yellow frog tape on the baseboard/shoe to protect. We would NOT recommend the yellow tape, as it allowed some stain to bleed through. That is all fixable and no fault of Sandfree Flooring - just a personal note. Again, Sandfree did an excellent job; returned calls promptly and completed the job in the time they said. We definitely recommend them and would use their service again.

We had the contractor come out and it turned out it was a much more involved project than we thought. We decided just not to do the work.
