What’s the Bella difference? In a word—FAMILY! Our family pride shines through each and every time we talk with you! It starts with your first phone call to our office, when you’ll hear the voice of Alecia, our office manager—not a recorded message. Once you and Alecia have set up a time for you to get an estimate, she’ll give you a call before we meet with you to confirm your appointment. When one of our estimators arrive, please check your watch—because we are committed to being on time so we don’t waste any of yours. During our meeting with you, you will have the chance to see and touch full-sized samples of the railing that is currently the most installed vinyl railing in the tri-state area! Our estimator will be able to give you a price on the first visit. Throughout the installation process, we’ll keep you up to date and address any questions you have. Then, at the end of your Bella experience, you’ll be asked to fill out a survey to help us continue to make our service to our customers better than any other you have ever experienced! I have to say I couldn't be happier with my new porch and step railing. Even moreso I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of service I received during the project. I like to work with wood myself (although not even close to the level of expertise the installer and his crew have) so I appreciate the time and attention to detail that I saw, especially from my installer. The sales person was knowledgeable, and went out of his way to show me samples, explain the process, take his time measuring, etc. He was very pleasant, respectful and courteous (shades of what was to come). I have an older Pittsburgh house so you never know what to expect or what you might find when you begin to open things up. The installer took everything in stride and led the team in removing existing old DIY attempts at porch deck structure supports that had shifted over time. I never once heard a complaint about the removal process which was physically challenging. Any questions I had for the installer were answered. I never felt they were perceived as 'stupid'; they were met with a 'Sure, what's your question'. If I didn't understand something, the answer was rephrased until I did. Rebuilding the deck began: ledger, joists, et al in place, laying of the decking boards.. it really started to take shape. Depending on the day, my installer's team could change, but even though there were new faces, the same polite, courteous, friendly, competent, willing to listen theme, remained. I felt like I, as the homeowner, was a part of the process, involved only as I should be, but respected. I found I could feel confident that my home was in good hands. Around this time, we ran into a snafu with communication around the skirting color and I did make a decision to go with a color that wasn't exactly what I had wanted, but the company's management and I worked it out and the results are fine. They did order me a specific accent color board for above the skirt, which as of this post has not yet arrived. My installer will take care of this when it is in. Porch steps, rails and spindles, the step railing, small cement work areas.. this is when it really began to take shape and I began to visually see what it would look like. A lot of the work was coming to a close, yet that same diligence to the job and a great work ethic persisted. The installer and his crew(s) are not slackers; they work hard and I can tell they enjoy what they do. All in all, it took 5 days, not counting the boards that we are waiting for. I doubt it will take long to add the 'finishing touch' to a great project. So would I recommend this installer, his crew, the company? In a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Bella's install team tore down my front porch (roof was left propped up), rebuilt the porch, (including deck, steps, skirt, railings), removed an old pipe step rail down my front steps and installed a new vinyl railing.

The installation went fairly well. The Installer arrived at stated time and the job was completed within the timeframe noted. We were told we would not see any hardware (I.e. Screws) when the job was finished; however, the plugs used to cover the screws were never installed. A subsequent call was made, the salesperson came and stated that someone would be out to install the "plugs" used to cover screws. I have not heard anything from the company and I am still waiting for the plugs to be installed. To me, this indicates the job is incomplete.

It was amazing how easily Mike installed the railing. He obviously knew what he was doing. It was so nice having a professional who was great as his job as opposed to the idiot who had installed a crooked disaster. A visitor at my neighbor's said that her husband kept telling her to come look at this guy and how good he was. If they were not from New York, I think that they would be hiring Bella Railings!
Description of Work: He removed vinyl railing that had been incorrectly installed and perfectly installed a beautiful new vinyl railing. I learned my lesson, and I will now only hire contractors who specialize in the home improvement that I need. Going cheap is a waste of money.

Excellent job - we are nervous going from aluminum railing to thick vinyl but are very pleased with how it turned out. We went with Bella because they make their railings and they were able to get the angle we needed coming down the driveway steps - the rest of the companies we had bids from were unable to install the end post where we wanted it. We also went with the aluminum pickets which really opens up the porch.

We needed to have front porch and curved paving stone entry steps protected with railings. Did my thorough research through Angie's List and learned that Bella Railings is the only company in the area that provides a unique, rigid mounting process that is better than other vinyl, wood, aluminum or iron fabricator's methods. A great deal of that is explained on the Bella Railings website, and I work with a girl who just had a job done with Bella, and she was very pleased with result. Consultant, John Maxwell, visited our home with a wealth of information: product samples, engineering data and zillions of pictures and customer referrals. John is passionate about the company and products they manufacture and install. Rightfully so. We needed a curved railing. Bella is the only fabricator who makes a reinforced, maintenance-free curved railing, with a unique mounting system too. John made a detailed sketch for us, provided a fair price and we agreed to have Bella do the work. Mike, the installer, showed up on time, had a great attitude and started to work. He was very precise on his plumb and level specifications, miter cuts and joint-fitting. We were both excited at the evenness of the curved railing as it tracked the curve of the entry steps.
Description of Work: Bella Railings made a detailed, professional presentation for railings for the front entry area of our home. We signed a contract for the upcoming job and paid for it in full. No one else was asked to bid on this project. A few weeks later we were given an installation date. The installer arrived promptly, completed the work, cleaned the area thoroughly and thanked me for choosing Bella Railings. Flawless!

Incorrectly flashed new roof valley. I recieved shingle weave, after I requested step flashing. Owner said it would function correctly and would honor warranty. I disagree. I did not read fine print so I fault myself. Subcontractors delayed job to go hunting.

Response from Bella Railings
Mr. [member name removed]initially agreed to the work as described to be completed as it was completed. There was no "fine print", as we build all of our roofs the same was as we have been for 13+ years. As a company, we are always staying to the tried and true methods we continue to use. When the issue was brought up regarding the roof valley flashing after the roof shingles were installed, Bella Railing reassured Mr. [member name removed]that we warranty our work as performed on his roof, as we always do. We have no real world experience with the success of step flashing in the valleys so we were not comfortable trying it for the first time on a customer’s home. We installed ice shield on entire porch roof including the valleys, as we do for all of our roofs, and correctly installed the valleys our mechanics are most confident in. Again, this is the method we have a track record with. The issue was never mentioned again. We feel Mr. [member name removed] got a wonderful job. In fact, he went above and beyond, praising our workers on the quality of the job performed. This rating is a shock to us. The job had been pushed back several times because the concrete contractor that was hired by Mr. [member name removed]to pour the footed slab was several weeks late to start. Once we got the O.K. that the concrete was cured and ready to go, we worked very efficiently to get the work completed. Our employee's time with their family is given a heavy consideration at Bella Railings. Most of our employees have the day off during hunting season, as do most of the schools in Westmoreland County. We apologize for this miscommunication; however, we did in fact install the entire job within the time deadline on the contract that was agreed upon. Bella Railings worked under a tight deadline to go above and beyond, providing additional drawings at no additional costs, as well as many site visits before the job was even started. The [member name removed] are a wonderful family, and we regret their experience was less than expected. Again, we were shocked to hear this review. We hope they enjoy their roof and railing for many years. The job was beautiful.

We had a new curved sidewalk installed and needed new railing. Bella, while a little more expensive, was the only company that actually curved their railing. The other companies from whom we got estimates, wanted to angle the railing around the curve which would have resulted in our losing more of our sidewalk area. Bella came at the appointed time to give us an estimate. We were told that someone would come out to measure the curve and we would be called after the railing was made to be given an installation date. We received the call and they came as scheduled. Everything was installed within a few hours and the worksite was left very clean. We were very happy with our experience with Bella Railings and would recommend them.

I had Bella Railings come out and give me a quote for installing railing on a cement patio. When I contacted the company, the office manager was extremely pleasant and helpful, they were very responsive and we scheduled a meeting/quote within the next week. When the salesman came out to the house, he was extremely arrogant, long-winded and rude. The product is very nice and the install demo seemed to be very good. The salesman just wasted the next 3 and halfs hours of my time before he would give me a price. After about and hour and a half I asked him for the price and then had to ask him for the next 2 hours until he finally gave it. The price was extremely high, though it was a big job, and a little out of my price range. I told him we would need to think about it not wanting to be offensive as this man just spent 3 and a half hours in my home. He seemed extremely agitated and wouldn't take a no. I finally said, "Listen, I will get back to you it's nearly 9:30pm. I have to put my kids to bed!" About 2 days later, he called me back and said he had a sales meeting and that since my job was so big they would give me what amounted to about a 10% discount. Even with the 10% discount the job was still over priced and I kindly declined. He then went on to tell me how great of a deal I was getting and questioned both my intelligence and then basically called me cheap for not going with them. I explained to him that the price was out of our range but appreciated his follow-up. He then told me that the price was final and that I could call them back if I wanted it. While the pictures that they showed me of their previous work look beautiful and the quality of the demo reailing was great, this salesperson and the pricing pushed me away. The company seemed to be reputable and was what I believe is the only railing company in the area. Maybe I just caught the salesman on a bad day or bad week...

Dear [member name removed], I'm very sorry you were not happy with your experience with Bella. Although it sounds like there might be a personality conflict at the bottom of this issue, it is still our goal to be patient, polite, and pleasant. We train each of our estimators how to explain the many unique features of our product and installation which many times is the exception rather than the rule int he home improvement industry. The vast majority of our customers/ prospects appreciate the thoroughness which is needed to justify our price. We believe that our customers are better off purchasing their railings only once, and with that in mind are careful to make time to choose the right product/Company. That unfortunately takes time out of our busy schedules. More and more of our business is replacing "other manufacture's" "lifetime" railings! I wonder if those Companies invested the required time when they made the explanation to their customer? The bottom line is, we are sorry if our representative offended you and I know after reading your review he will be upset. I thank you for bringing this to my attention, it's only through this kind of input can we be be mindful of the fact that while in your home we are guests, and should act that way in every manner. Best regards, Mike Morocco Sr., Partner Bella Railings

The guy that came out to give the estimate was very thorough and friendly. The prices for these railings are a little high but they seem to be pretty good quality. It took about 6 weeks for them to order the parts. When the guy came to install the railing the first day he had to leave early due to a family emergency. He left all of the pieces to the railing out on the front lawn which made me a little nervous but everything was fine when he came back the next day along with the guy that installed the gate to finish up. All in all it looks good, I would hire them again.

Dear [member name removed], Thank you for your positive input on the quality and professionalism of our Railing and Company. Those comments are what puts smiles on our faces! In reference to price, I would like to remind you that your job was huge!!! It had a large staircase and a large landing with railings on both sides. There was a wrap around porch encompassing three sides of your large home! Also, you selected every upgrade available such as Colonial Columns, Colonial Pickets, and Color Upgrade (which by-the-way looks great)! As an owner I have to justify "price" every time I speak to a prospect. Thankfully (when they choose Bella) our Customers' only have to deal with it once. The real value is in the fact that we have had no service issues, and as you know, I was asked out once again for an additional estimate on additional work, and the railing still looked great! I hope you will reconsider your assessment of the cost of the job based on all the important issues, not just price. Best regards, Mike Morocco Sr. Partner, Bella Railings
