Description of Work: Wesley Wood was an excellent company until Service Experts took over. Then it was so bad that after a few years, the original owner had to return and try to save his good name. It has improved somewhat, but still constant problems. I had a complete HVAC & tankless water heater system put in before Service Experts came in and am stuck with them. I have had to fight for proper warrantee and repair service for years. Another instance just this year when they tried to charge me over $350 for parts and labor covered under their warranty. I got it resolved but it was not easy.

Description of Work: After making appointments, technicians did not show up. I allowed this to happen three times before I finally found a reliable company. When I complained, there was always an excuse but no apology or discount for wasting my time. Technicians became salesmen, always trying to sell me things I did not need.

Description of Work: They did the spring/summer tune up program for the air conditioning. They go through the system in its entirety and do whatever necessary, including a change of the electronic filter with our system. |They'll be back in the fall to do the fall/winter tune-up of the heating system. I am always happy with their service, and would highly recommend them.

They don't do what they say they will. When I request a technician that I like, they don't send that technician out. I wouldn't recommend them to a friend because I don't think that they care. I voiced to them a complaint and received no response. For how expensive it is, I thought they would have more interest in pleasing me. I don't think it's good value for the money.
Description of Work: They did routine service on the humidifier and our HVAC system. The cost covers two services per year.

Overall, they are a great company. I never have any problems. They are very efficient. I like how they remind you and send an e-mail for the service. They are very professional!
Description of Work: They come out every so often and will notify you of your upcoming service. They serviced the A/C unit back in the spring and they will come back and service my furnace next week. Also, I had the smell of gas in the house and after the Fire Department came out they said that they believed there was a bad part leading to the furnace. I then contacted Service Experts and they came out and was able to diagnose the problem and told me that there was a bad connector on the pipes that was put in when the house was built.

They're responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. The job and the workers are always fine. They have 2 levels of contract and I don't think they discount enough. With the platinum level you don't get charged for anything but for the lower level I do get charged. In the last house we lived in I'm pretty sure that we paid the same amount but we didn't have to pay when they would come out.

I have a plan with them and I don’t pay anything. I got a bill which I didn’t understand. The plan was really cheap before, but the price went up considerably. I think the company has grown. I don’t change unless I have problems with the company. So I haven’t had any problems. They come and do the work. My overall experience with them has been really good. I don’t have anything to compare their price to. The quality of their work has been excellent and I haven’t had any trouble. They have been very responsive. They always remember me. They hold on to the same employees and they send the same ones back. So you have the continuity. I would use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: We use Atmostemp twice a year in the spring and winter for heating and AC work.

I've used this company for a number of years and been generally happy with the professionalism and thoroughness of their technicians. Unfortunately, the technician I had for this past year's servicing didn't have a good communication style and left me feeling like the job he did wasn't as thorough since he didn't change the filters as they're suppose to do. (A week later my husband checked the filters, which were dirty, and had to change them.) The technician seemed too eager to convince me to replace my two systems, which are only 15 years old, than to try to extend the life of my current system. I will request a different technician than "Martin" next time.
Description of Work: Serviced my 2-zone furnace system as part of my yearly contract that covers heating and A/C. Cost above is yearly contract price I paid in 2008.

With the outside temperature at about 27 degrees we were delighted to have a working heater for the night ... and were way too shocked (and worried) by the price. We are both retired and on fixed income. I called Wesley Wood the next day (Tues, Dec 9) to find out why the cost was so high. I left 2 messages with Tony, their Operations Manager. He did not call back. I talked to Brad (in billing, I think) and he confirmed the part description: White-Rodgers Universal 50E47-843 Non-Integrated HSI Ignition Module (from the White-Rodgers tech sheet). Then I did some internet research. I found out that this can be purchased by anyone at retail for as little as $92, as high as $150. Most prices were in the $105-115 plus shipping (about $10). That is about what we were charged in 2004 ($104). On the morning of Weds, Dec 10, I called Wesley Wood again and had to leave a message for another manager (Kathy H.). I did not get a return call. In the afternoon, I called again and was connected to manager Tony. I described just about all the detail that appears in this report and asked why the parts/labor charge was over 4 times higher than in 2004. He said that the current price is "flat rate" ... I couldn't get any more breakdown than that. I told him the previous price for the same emergency service and he said a mistake was made in reading the rates by Rich K (who has since left Wesley Wood for another company) and said something like "you got a good deal." I questioned why he suspected such a huge mistake by an experienced professional (and Rich K was good and courteous ... he also signed us up to extend our annual contract!). I got the same response from Tony. At that point I canceled our contract with Wesley Wood for 2009. It would have begun on Dec 10 ... I wanted to do it the day before the 2008 contract ended but couldn't because my messages were not answered by any managers! I told that to Tony and he agreed to refund the price I prepaid ... about $195. UPDATE 2/26/09: This issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. Within a reasonable amount of time, I received a check that adjusted the cost of the service call. During that period, I cancelled my annual maintenance contract with Wesley Wood and signed with another local service company (highly rated in Angie's List). The check that Wesley Wood sent to me also covered the reimbursement for the annual contract price. They were very courteous in doing so, and welcomed me back as a customer if I decided to return to them next year. It did take much effort to make this all happen ... including a contact with to their parent company, plus a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Fortunately, much of this could be done via e-mail, but it was very time-consuming. I am retired and had the time to go through the frustrating process. I don't even want to think how long it would have taken if I was still working! All in all, it was worth it as it ended in friendly resolution and a monetary reimbursement.
Description of Work: The afternoon of Monday, Dec.8, we discovered a leak in the vicinity of our heater's humidifier (whole house, AprilAire 445, over 10 years old) and called Wesley Wood. We had an annual service contract with them. We had been satisfied customers for about 5 years. The furnace is a York Stellar Plus, high-efficiency, natural gas, model P2UD. The leak was significant, filling up several buckets of water (and several towels) and covered much of the heater room floor. My wife called me about this and when I got home, I turned off all water sources feeding the humidifier. We tried to restart the furnace but there was no ignition. The Wesley Wood technician (Philip) arrived within the time frame promised. He diagnosed the heater problem and said it was a bad ignition control module (and/or circuit board) ... possibly damaged by the water leak. He replaced the ignition control and the heater started working properly. He also dried up the affected area with a blow drier. Then he told us the price: $573 ($88 for diagnosis, $5 energy/materials, $485 circuit board). This description is directly from their invoice printout. Philip got the heater running but did not give us a price until the work was done. We did not have a chance to authorize the work. He did not show us the damaged part. The module is actually in a sealed location, apart from the leaking humidifier. The leak was straight down toward the floor, not directed toward the module location. Philip was at our house for about one hour (3:50 to 4:50 pm). We were stunned by the high price we were charged. The following is the reason why. The same work ... emergency replacement of the HSI (hot surface ignition) module ... was done by a Wesley Wood technician (Rich K.) on December 11, 2004 ... for a total price of $170! And it was done on a Saturday morning! I thought the cost (4 years later) would probably be near $250. I was shocked but I made out a check for the total ... I thought I could find out why the price was either a mistake or discrepancy with a call to company management the next day.

Water overflow from a bathroom sink got into the heating and A/C vent. I called around to have someone check if the furnace was damaged from the water. It was a hot day and everyone seemed overbooked with service calls. A representative from this company called back later, said they can arrange a visit later that day. The technician arrived on time, checked the furnace, assured me everything was OK, and suggested I just turn the fan on to dry out the vents. Everyone I contacted from this company was helpful and courteous. I don't think they charged me for emergency service even though they arranged same day service.

These twin brothers are something else. They are some of the most respectful and kind hearted men we have ever used when doing any work around the house. They are extremely respectful of where they work and are very punctual.
Description of Work: They had to replace an old stand-alone air conditioning unit, which cooled the upstairs of our 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home. They had to haul the old unit out of the attic 4 stories up and down to the street before they could haul the new one up there to install. They did this and finished in about 3 hours, taking the old unit away with them when they left.

They provided us with very competent service, they were prompt in handling our needs and did a very quick and clean job replacing the furnace and pump. The crew was very professional as well.

I called late morning. Someone was out by 4 pm that same afternoon. Service technician spent an hour diagnosing the problem to discover that the gas pressure needed to be adjusted. Service technician provided me with an estimate prior to doing work and wore booties to keep my floors clean. Since Wesley Wood had just been out a few months earlier to do the annual service, a call to the service manager afterward reduced the charge to only the cost of doing the gas pressure adjustment and did not include a diagnostic fee.
Description of Work: Problem with gas furnace included the blower recycling on right after going off. I have annual contract with Wesley Wood to service my 2 zone heating/cooling system.
