I had been very concerned about getting this job done. Several years ago an "emergency repair" of the door mechanism by another vendor had turned into a very high priced episode - leaving me very gun-shy of anything to do with garage doors! But it had to be done. Howell Door Company's visit to estimate for the job was professional and much to my delight there were no attempts made to add "extras". Their estimate was reasonable and I hired them to do the job. On installation date they were on time and the work went well. I am delighted with the result. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Answered the phone on the first ring, made an appointment right away for the next day. Service was exceptional, price was great. Took credit which was very convenient. Will definitely use again.

This review is long overdue. Working with Howell Door was a great experience. Tom showed up when expected, brought samples along with him and took the time to explain the differences in the garage door types. I purchased the CHI insulated steel doors and as promised, my garage was significantly warmer in the winter months and cooler in the summer. The Lift Master belt driven openers that were installed are very quiet too. Good company with great people. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

A close lightning strike destroyed my garage door opener. I checked Angie's List for nearby replacement options and chose Howell Door. The office and their subcontractor were prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and cheerful. When I began to write this review, I noticed Howell Door's coupon; when I called back, they were willing to honor it even after the service was completed. They are so prompt they arrived early, so be ready!

Their office called immediately after my email inquiry to set up appointment. Tom showed up exactly when they said he would and provided a great price. I priced 4 companies and they were the least expensive. They ordered the doors and called to set up installation as soon as they arrived. The installer came exactly when they said he would and installed the doors/opener perfectly. Everyone from the organization was helpful and professional.

Punctual, courteous and informative on his product offerings. Haven't used them yet but likely will. Felt comfortable in asking questions and he was patient in answering everything I wanted to know. Great representative for his family owned business. I'll be calling.

Working with this company was terrific. The owner showed up, diagnosed the problem with each door in about 5 minutes, had all the parts to make repairs, and gave me instructions on maintenance. A real professional.

Keith showed up exactly on time and was extremely polite. As a female, I get nervous with repairmen when i am home alone but Keith is just a normal, pleasant, professional guy. Saw the problem immediately, fixed the spring, and was done in 20 minutes, and took my Angie's List coupon. Very satisfied. Would use again.

The service man arrived and quickly determined & fixed the cause of the garage door malfunction. In addition, he noticed a few loose and missing nuts on the door attachments, tightening them. This extra check made the door operate much more smoothly.

I called the company for an initial estimate. They were friendly and professional. They scheduled a service request quickly. The service was completed in one hour. The job was well done and I am very satisfied with this company.

I have a two car garage, but one big door, and I was having a problem with the garage door hitting the top of the frame. I called Howell and they were able to get someone out the next day to look at the problem. Keith showed up a little earlier than scheduled which was great. I showed him the issue from the outside and he immediately said he could work with that ,which was very reassuring! In no time he had the problem solved and fixed. He even took care of an additional issue with regard to the motion detectors at the bottom of the garage. I wasn't even expecting to have that resolved, a huge bonus! Keith was positive, friendly and did a fantastic job. I would absolutely call Howell again for any garage door related repairs!! The people i spoke with on the phone were also very pleasant, and they even applied my Angie's coupon after the fact!!! Fantastic experience all around!!!

We had priced out the doors with another large, well advertised company and their price was 2x the price of Howell Door! Howell Door was prompt to return our call and came out within a day. The owner personally quoted the work. He arrived on time and with catalogs to review our options. We were at the time also interested in replacing the door openers, but the owner kindly and honestly suggested that we try replacing the doors only first and then if it's still not quiet enough he would be happy to come back and install the openers at the price quoted. What a refreshing surprise to get such a recommendation. We were told 2 weeks until installation since the doors had to be ordered. They were right on schedule. The door replacements were done by one gentleman. He was on time, professional and did quality work. We were very pleased with the door replacement. (I'm sorry I cannot remember his name.) The frame carpentry was to be done by a vendor that works with Howell Door. That vendor never showed up. Upon follow up, Howell Door found this out (we had not called yet thinking we had messed up a date) and promptly scheduled their own team to come out and do the carpentry (Howell Door does the carpentry but was outsourcing it at the time to keep their crew on doors and because the vendor, I'm told, would be quicker). The two gentleman sent out by Howell were wonderful (one of the two was the same gentleman that installed the doors)...professional and did quality work. They took their time and worked all day without a break. I frequently offered beverages and they declined each time. All work quoted was performed and on budget. We were extremely pleased with out experience with Howell. We would recommend the company and use them again!

The young man from Howell Door company did an excellent job. Very professional and efficient. I will use them for any other garage door issues that arise.

Technician came and removed cobwebs from sensors. He explained how the door works and told me how to prevent the problem from recurring.

Called and left a message, which was returned promptly. Arranged for a visit the next day. They found I had a unique sized tension spring, which they did not have in stock. Instead of just ordering the correct sized, they made a temporary fix, using the size they had available, and simultaneously ordered the correct sized springs. They called two days later saying they had the correct sized springs, which they installed the next day. They were prompt and courteous on all occasions. Work was performed quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and I would not hesitate to use their service again if needed.

I came home one day, opened the garage door as usual, but was not able to close it. The door didn't respond to the remote or the wall command pannel. There was a blinking light, which showed me there was some kind of power getting to the unit. I also tried the outlet by plugging in other things and it worked just fine. I called several companies - in all honesty. Howell was not my first choice. However, when 2 days later the company I had originally scheduled did not show up and avoided my phone calls for 2 hours after the appointment time, I went back to Angie's List and called Howell. The receptionist was polite and easy to talk to, and scheduling an appointment was not a big deal. Their technician showed up in time, was polite and efficient, and was able to fix my problem - some loose wiring. I will definitely use them next time I run into a problem. I also got my Angie's list member discount. I would highly recommend them.

Howell Door was the second vendor I called. I tried to use the company that had installed the doors when the house was built, but found its customer service very poor. I found Howell Door on Angie's List and they sent a representative out the same day I called. Once I decided to go with them the work was scheduled, they called to confirm a couple of days ahead of time. The technician was on time and finished the work in two hours (the estimate had been three). The doors look great (CHI brand). The estimator recommended a slightly different style of door (no extra cost) and they look very nice The entire experience was professional and pleasant, from the people I spoke to in the office to the estimator to the technician who did the work. .
