It went extremely well. They were on time, polite, worked quickly and the price was right. Around $150. I would highly recommend them and would use again.

Horribly. Called. Got voicemail. Office closed entire Christmas week. No information on a backup repair place that might be covering their work. How does that help you when you need a repair?

The sales guy was honest, which really impressed me. He told me that the door could be fixed for less, he even gave me the name of the mfg. so I could contact them for a quote. That particular company was so unresponsive I decided to spend the extra money and put in a new door.

Overall it went well. Positives: 1) The office answered all my questions concerning the two CH8355 openers that we chosse; 2) installer was punctual and friendly; 3) job was done quickly and doors work quietly and well; 4) installer even did some adjustments so that one of our doors which was hitting the ground at a bad angle now hits the floor more smoothly. Opportunities for improvement: 1) Installer did not clean up the tacks that held the old wires to the wall - so I had to sweep the garage and the driveway carefully so that I won't puncture a tire. 2) After I had asked installer to consult with me on position of the keypad before installing the outside keypad, installer did not ask me about the position of the buttons on the inside of the garage next to the door from garage to house - he simply installed them at the same place as before. Problem with this is that the buttons were a little too high for my wife to begin with and now (because button design is different) they are even higher and she has to stretch to open one of them. I should have asked him to check with me before he installed those buttons (but I missed that detail). I think installer should prompt the homeowner - ask him "show me where you want the buttons" or "do you like where the buttons are now, or want them higher/lower?". After all, installer does this all the time, homeowner doesn't. So that is why I rated them a "B" for Professionalism.

Fantastic company all the away around. From the initial call to the installation, everyone was courteous and professional. There was a minor problem where the door factory provided the wrong door style, but everything was resolved quickly and easily. Tom took care of squaring the issue away with the door factory, and Keith did a great job installing everything. My new garage doors look fantastic.

Very professional company to deal with. Small family run company "Old school" customer service. Couldn't be happier with their service and installation. They quoted us the lowest price for the same doors sold by their competitors. Installation crew was very neat - professional and friendly attitude. Highly recommend to all Angie's List members!

We have used Howell before we were Angie's List members and have been pleased with their service. Keith arrived within the time specified and worked on the single door replacing the sprocket. Door works perfectly now. Keith is friendly and diligent with problems presented to him. Would definitely recommend Howell.

It's a pretty good experience to work with this contract. My garage door has a broken spring. I quote two companies from Angie's list (both have good reviews). One company came to take a brief look and told me to change everything related including springs/ rollers/ rackets/ wire etc. , costing about $700. Howell Door's guy came and taking down several parts to check. He then told us that all the parts were still working well except the springs. He fixed the problem within $250. He's punctuate and honest. I'm happy with this service.

The sales call was nice. They came out to us with material but also tool the time to look at the garage and make sure they know exactly what is needed. The installer came on time. He had all the work done in about 4h. The result was better than I expected. The new door runs very smooth, seals properly on all sides. All wiring was tucked away properly. This was a perfect install from my perspective. No intervention needed, no problems, and a very good end result that looks good and works well. I could have gotten the same done for a little less money, but those vendors would only quote over the phone. I much prefer this handling, where the guy who owns the business comes by and surveys, then tells you how it is, and follows through. Very professional, and I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Serviice was excellent. They gave,me a window of (9 AM-11 AM). Service man arrived at 10:30. Installed the new rubber strip within 20 minutes. When I called Howell too get an estimate, they were the only company that gave me a firm price. Three other companies quoted prices in the $185-$225 range. I found Howell in the local phone book.Will definirtely use them for all future Garage door service. Note: Howell Door Company has been in business since 1939.

Howell Door was great. We had a torsion spring in our garage door break so I called them up and they had someone out when I was next available (which was two days later). He didn't have the correct size spring on the truck that Friday, but mended the spring so that the door would open and even added some bracing where he saw some cracking on our door. They were back out on Tuesday and got everything fixed for a great price. Definitely would use them again and would recommend them to others.

They came out quickly, arrived on time and completed the work for a reasonable cost. I was given an estimate of $150-$175 and the work was performed as quoted. Tim found some other broken parts which he replaced and I had my other tension spring replaced for an additional $60. The work was done properly and on time for a reasonable price. I would definitely use this company again.

Amazing! The guy came as scheduled. It took him about 20 min to replace the torsion spring; he did not try to add extra charge for "conditioning the doors" like some other companies did when I called. After the spring was replaced he lubricated the whole door and the price was the lowest from the other 5 companies I called. I would definitely call them again.

sent email stating exactly what I needed no one replied.Five days later I went to the showroom I needed A new garage door and opener talked to A nice lady who said she was the owners wife told her want I wanted even the item numbers for the items she said she could not give me a price while I waited [when five other people gave me A price in five minutes]She said she would call me or email me with a quote .She wrote down all my info and never called me back I left one voice mail and then gave up on this company

I made my first appointment, which was cancelled after severe weather. I called back the following week and rescheduled. I left work early to be home at the specified time. No one called me or showed up at my house. I left messages on the office phone and cell phone to complain that no one came and requested a return call. Two days have now gone by and no one has had the courtesy to even call back to apologize or explain why no one showed up at the scheduled time.

As has been the case in the past when I have used contractors highly recommended on Angie's list, this experience was truly outstanding. The work was done on time and on budget. The installer, Tim, was a consummate professional. Tom Miller, who runs the company was also a pleasure to work with. I should also note that Tom recommended Ralph Hayden to replace the trim around the doors. He also did an absolutely outstanding job. It is really a pleasure to work with people who take such obvious pride in what they do.

I forgot to ask them to fix the remote but they did fix the garage door in about 5 min. Great service, very professional and very accomodating

Installations when well. Guys were respectful and professional.

Promptly scheduled and arrived right in middle of service window. worked quickly and effectively at half the cost quoted by another service by doing what was actually needed not what they thought they could persuade us to do. Very courteous. Service person had 13 years experience. Actual charge matched expected cost. Replaced cables and lubricated hinges and rollers.

They installed 2 new garage doors and one remote control door opener. They helped us select the door we wanted when we went to their showroom. The doors were installed as soon as they came in. Their staff did an excellent job installing the doors and opener especially since we had so much clutter in our garage. We would recommend them to anyone.

I called for a quote on approximately 11/25-11/26/13. I spoke with a very nice woman who went over what work and parts I needed. She agreed to email me a price quote and detailed list of work to be completed. I never received an email. I made sure it didn't go to junk mail. I then called after several days and left a voicemail re-stating my email address and phone number. No response to that either. On December 2nd I sent a detailed email to the email address on the company website again requesting a quote. It's now December 10th and I have not gotten a response. I really needed the work done so it's a big dissapointment. The only positive was my initial conversation with the woman who was very friendly and helpful. I had high hopes.

Tom came to the house with the catalog and once we had chose the design we wanted, it took about a week. We scheduled the day of installation at the time we ordered and were pleased when they came exactly as Tom had said they would. We liked the fact that Tom had made suggestions about the doors and lead us to those that were energy efficient and would help us save money on our heating. The installation took only one day and was so quiet I hardly knew the installer was at the house. Everything was cleaned up before he left and we were thrilled at how well the doors looked with our style house. We would strongly recommend this business to anyone in the area.

Very good service. Came out the day after I called. Problem was a simple fix. Saved money because of their deal with Angies List first time customers.
