The repair process was smooth and pleasant, the gentleman Dave was very professional, courteous and even friendly to my children. The cost of the work i needed done was explained to me prior to my agreeing to the service. he did all the work he proposed quickly and efficiently. He gave me directions needed if my disposal was to jam in the near future, gave me advice on how to run itmost efficiently and left me with a very positive feeling about the whole experience. i will absolutely call Bruno in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for a professional trustworthy company.

I don't usually hire other people to do water plumbing work. But this was year-end time at work and I was swamped. We had a problem in our second bathroom that necessitated use of this tub. Repair was going to be a very tight fit to try and repair myself (tough access to drain in wall). We've used Bruno in the past and have been nothing but happy with their service. Bruno's serviceman arrived same day as our call, was extremely professional, quickly assessed situation and gave us an up-front quote right out of their service manual. He had the fix completed in about 2 hours, pressure tested everything, and even provided one of their coupons to use (we keep throwing ours away as they come in the mail b/c "we'll never need plumbing services" - opps). Overall a great experience. My only negative comment would be to say that I thought the price was a little high, but certainly not outside the realm of what I was willing to pay. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who is looking for top notch plumbing or heating services.
Description of Work: Our upstairs bathroom tub drain failed and a brass pipe in the drain was cracked. We had water leaking into a wall and out into downstairs bathroom. Bruno arrived same day as our call, had all necessary parts (it's the integrated drain and overflow pipe for a combo tub/shower insert.

He did a good job. He was on time and worked very quickly. I thought that the price was a bit high, but then, I have not had much experience with plumbing for a while now and I think that sometimes you do have to pay a little more for better service.

Tony from Bruno Plumbing came the afternoon of Thanksgiving Eve and reworked the way the washing machine was plumbed. He took Thanksgiving off but came back the morning of Black Friday and re-did the pipes under the kitchen sink. He put a clean-out in the stack from the kitchen and jetted the line clean. Tony was the consummate plumber. Knowledgeable...Careful...Thorough...Friendly...Polite...Took Pride in His Work. The next time I need a plumber, I'm asking for Tony at Bruno Plumbing.
Description of Work: We have lived in our present home for 14 + years and during this time it was not uncommon for the emptying of the washing machine and the draining of the kitchen sink to announce the event in a downstairs bathroom sink. Glub...glub...glub. A couple of years ago another plumber had no answers to the problem. I decided to call Bruno Plumbing last fall and see what they might have to say. I also wanted them to run a camera down our sewer line to show me that a wet area in the back yard wasn't our problem. Didn't turn out that way. The thin wall pipe was egg shaped at joints and crushed near the main line tap-in. So that line had to be replaced.Bruno Plumbing did an outstanding job. Back to the subject of this review: The plumbing under the kitchen sink and from the discharge of the washing machine was reconfigured and the lines were all cleaned. Now when the washer empties and the kitchen sink drains, the downstairs bathroom sink is hardly aware. Ahhhhh.

Tried to replace the hardware myself and it didn't go well. I had to turn my water off for the night. I called Bruno plumbing who said there would be an extra charge to come out after hours. I told them I would wait until the morning. The first guy said he would be there around 8:30. I think there was a mix-up because another person called me in the morning to say they would be there between 9 and 11. It really didn't matter. I was shocked at the price, but I didn't know what the price was to replace shower hardware to begin with. I was desperate, so I went ahead with the replacement. The two men were very nice and professional. I was very pleased with my new Kohler shower hardware. It looks much better, and I do feel that their work was quality. I do feel that I paid too much, but as I said I didn't really have a chance to get estimates and I didn't have a clue as to the work that would be required to put a new one in.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 knob shower hardware with a one lever hot/cold mixer and a new spout and shower head.

Tony came out to check what the situation was. I asked if he had a fawccett similar to the one I had. He did not, but said he would go to American Standard and see what they had. He called back, he had found one - the price seemed high but I agreed to it. The next day before he was to to arrive, he called and said he had found a very good one at Lowes for $130 less. I was impressed. He arrived with Lowes fawcatt 20 min. later, He was very porfessional in his work. Left the area clean. The fawcett is far superior to the one I had.
Description of Work: Kitchen fawcett was leaking into cabinet below when the sprayer was used. Could not be repaired. It was 14 yrs. old. Needed to be replaced.

I did not use them. They were high on their quote. The quote was for $2000, and it was basically for the labor. They were great people. They were really nice, courteous and showed up whenever they were supposed to. They knew everything that they said they were going to do with the quote. It was not the price range that I was looking for. I would use them in the future.

The job went well. The company had done some door to door work in my neighborhood so I had coupons, and they had good reviews so I decided to use them. The guy that did the service was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. I didn?t appreciate that they tried to sell me a service where I become a member of Bruno Plumbing. I want to have some bathroom remodeling done and he told me that the program would give me a discount on that work, but the paperwork said that it would not be covered. I did not appreciate that he was trying to oversell a product and I would have been really pissed off if I hadn?t read all of the paperwork. The guy recommended that we stop the leak rather than replace the unit even though that means it will leak again in the future. I felt like they were more into making money than helping homeowners. Based on that, I wouldn?t recommend them. Completely replacing the sump pump was really expensive.

The client stated the job went well. The technician was very nice and knowledgeable, I'm confused about the overall "D" rating. The membership the client referred to is our VIP - Plumbing Club. This is an exclusive club membership that is not offered to everyone. A homeowner who takes pride in their home and keeps up on all repairs may be offered this membership by our technician. The club saves the homeowner money over the life of the membership. As a club member, she would have already saved $52.00 on her sump pump replacement. The membership gives the client a free comprehensive inspection of their plumbing system, a water heater flush, a water pressure test, a Bio Smart treatment, up to 25% off all necessary repairs and front of the line service when they call. Offering a client all these benefits is not overselling a client. They are receiving benefits in excess of the cost of the membership. Our paperwork does not specifically reference bath remodeling. They always receive a discounted price on all plumbing work as a member. We take pride in giving our clients options. A repair is just an option. Depending on the situation, a repair can add time to the life of the equipment until a complete replacement is in the client's budget. Bruno Plumbing & Heating, Inc. offers the best warranty in southwestern Pennsylvania. With the installation of here new sump pump, she has a two year pump and labor warranty. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

They initially said they would be able to fix it the day they came to do the estimate but then they had to go and actually fix people that didn't have heat, which I appreciated. When they came back the guy that was here was very, very nice and was really bothered by what was happening with our furnace. He actually cancelled his other appointment to stay and fix our furnace. I would absolutely use them again.

The technician was friendly and professional. The work was good. We have called them several times now, most recently to repair a bathroom drain (which both leaked *and* was slow draining). My only concern is that I think their prices are a bit too high for this area, but that is just my opinion. Also, they charge a $39 service call for a visit even if they can't do the work; they will, however, credit that amount on a subsequent visit for other work if you ask them.

I called them to install drains in new sinks and hook up a new garbage disposal. When I make the appointment, they were very courteous and said that my job would be the first one in the morning and that they would be there by 8:30 am. At 9:30 am, I called them and they said that they were still coming but would be there closer to 10:00 am. At 11:00 am, I finally received a call from the plumber saying that he was loaded up and would be leaving now. He showed up at 11:20. Then when he arrived, he suggested that I not use the drain baskets that came with the sink and encouraged me to use ones he brought instead. But he would only give me the price for the part AND the installation - he refused to tell me how much the new part cost. When I insisted on knowing how much his part was, he got frustrated and said he didn't want to do the job and left.

Our normal practice for booking a service call is to give a two hour window because sometimes things come up and you can not control how long you are at a home. The appointment was set up between 8am and 10am. We were running a little behind that morning. The client called and we explained the suitation and let him know approximately when to expect the technician's call. He did not indicate there was a problem with being late for the appointment. The technician call him as soon as he could. When the client answerered, our technician explained again what he should expect during our visit. The client agreed to have our technician over and again did not mention there was a problem with being late. Upon arrival, our technician waited several minutes outside before the client answered the door, The client showed our technician the way to the kitchen since the work was being done there. When the technician entered the kitchen, he noticed a gun lying on the counter top. Our technician was surprised to the see the gun lying there but began evaulating the work that needed to be done. Our technician was asking questions and talking with the client to determine the amount of work that needed to be done. After determing the work that was needed, our technician gave the client upfront pricing. The client accused our technician of quoting him a different price during an earlier conversation. The client's wife interjected and said the technician gave the same price as earlier and that her husband was mistaken. The client did not like the prices our technicians gave him and he refused to have us do the work. In the meantime, the client instructed his wife go outside and move her vehicle from its original parking place to behind our company truck. The client's other vehicle was along one side of our truck. In other words, he blocked our truck in his driveway. He told the technician that we wasted four hours of his time and he was going to waste four hours of our time. The client told our technician he would see him at 4pm. At this point our technician just wanted to leave the client's home. The technician did not ask the client for the service fee which he previously agreed to pay. Our truck was blocked in by three sides and our only option was to go out the open side. This meant that the technician had to go thru the grass. The technician had to move a large landscape stone that was along the other side of the truck. The technician was able to manover his truck from the blocked vehicles by going thru the grass. If we were unable to get our truck out, the technician's only other option was the call the police.

We were trying to get our existing furnace replaced by 1/14 and when they called back, said they could meet this date. We set up an appointment for a free estimate and he showed up on time. So far everything seemed to be OK. When they contacted us to give us the estimate, they said the existing furnace was running on limit control which it was not - it was running on thermostat control and quoted an K BTU furnace. We had calculated that a K furnace would be sufficient but they would not quote that. The other vendors we contacted had no problem giving us two quotes. Their price was 40% higher than any other vendor which I can only assume was because we were trying to get it installed ASAP. But nothing was ever said. Anyway we went with another vendor.
Description of Work: Gave us an estimate to replace our aged oil furnace with a gas (propane) furnace and incorporate existing central air conditioner.

Response from Bruno Plumbing & Heating
At Bruno Plumbing & Heating, Inc. your satisfaction is guaranteed. Upon our inspection of the customer's home, it was determined that the net btu requirement to heat this home to 72 degrees fahrenehit at outside air temperature of zero degrees was 59,489 btu/hour. The net output of a 60,000 btu furnace at a 95% annual fuel efficiency is 57,000 btu/hour. This is the reason for our quote for an 80,000 btu furnace. I have no record of the customer requested pricing for a 60,000 btu furnace. I would have explained the above information and our reason for the larger furnace. While on site our technician observed the furnace operating on limit control. This is no surprise to me based on the sizing of the supply and return air ductwork. The ductwork consists of two 8" x 12" supply air trunk lines and two 8" x 12" return air trunk lines. With the total capability to move 1100 cubic feet per minute of air flow at normal static pressures, this ductwork would not support any 156,000 btu furnace without operating on limit control. Our quote was very detailed as we were removing a very large 45 year old oil furnace with a 156,000 btu firing rate. Along with the new 80,000 btu furnace, we were reinstalling the evaporator coil by placing it into a coil casing mounted to the new furnace. Refrigeration line set piping connections. Ductwork revision including a supply air plenum, return air drop, filter boot and branch duct connections. New condensate drain piping with a new condensate pump. New exhaust flue piping with a sidewall termination. Terminate the existing flue opening. Install black steel pipe propane gas house piping to service the new furnace. Line voltage electrical connections including a new service disconnect switch at the new furnace. Low voltage wiring connections including a new thermostat. As you can clearly see, our scope of work was not just merely removing one furnace and installing another in its place. If our price was 40% higher than any others that would mean you got your furnace installed for $2,805. I can say with the utmost certainty that you did not buy the same quality furnace, receive the same work as specified in our quote and installed by a professional company for $2,805. I would be very interested in seeing their installation. As far as our inflated price for quick installation, this will never happen at our company. We take great pride in our ability to give our clients quick service. We provide a free one year annual service agreement with all of our heating system installations. This provides the client with the peace of mind to know their investment is protected, operating clean and at its peak efficiency. This will also help extend the life of the equipment. We also provide a lifetime materials and workmanship warranty on our furnace installations. This warranty excludes the equipment, electronics and existing components being reused. Our mission is to offer our clients the best quality products and services in the industry. We are continually striving to provide our clients with professional, reliable and friendly service. We vow to keep the strong code of ethics in which our company was built on in 1927.

Bruno came to do a basic service on my oil furnace in November. They found some parts that were faulty that I payed them to replace. The service guy was great and gave me confidence that he knew what he was doing. On January 13th the furnace started to act up so I called for service - they couldn't give me an appointment until the 19th. Today (Saturday - January 15) the furnace went out completely and I called to request an emergency service. The woman who answered the phone was nice enough but the service guy who called to tell me that he was too busy to come until Monday was gruff and unapologetic. Its 24 degrees outside and waiting until Monday is not an option. I really don't think that any company that is in the customer service business would leave someone with no heat for three days in January. I thought I had found a service company that was dependable - my search will continue with another Angie's List provider.
Description of Work: No heat - after they serviced the furnace in the fall. Called for emergency service and were told that the first appointment they had was two days from now.

We cleaned his oil furnace, replace electrodes, oil nozzle, filter and installed oil treatment on 10/13/2010. The technician recommended the flue and the furnace be replaced. The oil furnace is 12 years old and running at a lower efficiency than the new oil furnaces. Member did not want to go with our recommendations. Member called on 1/13/2011 having another problem. He had to hit the rest button , bu he still had heat. We scheduled the next available opening which happened to be the next week. Due to the cold weather, we have been extremely busy and our technicians have been working very long hours. We were a technician short due to him getting hurt. We had several clients without heat at the time. We were trying to help as many people as possible. Unfortunately we were not able to help member in a timely fashion. There is no excuse for our technician being gruff and unapologetic. His actions are unacceptable to our company. The technician was reprimanded for his actions. We have since hired additional technicians to help alleviate this shortfall in the future. Our mission is to offer our clients the best quality products and services. We are continually striving to provide our clients with professional, relaible and friendly service. We apologize to member for not being able to help him when he needed us. Our wish now is for member to give us the opportunity to help him in the future.

Description of Work: I had some pipes frozen. I paid a basic service call.

They did an excellent job. I would recommend them to anybody. They were neat, cleaned up after themselves and were courteous. We can?t say enough good things about them. They did an excellent job. They were fun to talk to. They are the kind of people that you would want to work on your house
Description of Work: We had a water leak that they found. They had to dig outside. They replaced our hot water tank. They fixed our sump pump and put a vent in for the sump pump. When the power went out here for a couple of days, one of the parts they installed went bad. They were out the next day and replaced the part with a new one at no charge. It was no muss no fuss.
