I chose Davey Tree's bid out of three total bids from comparable companies. Their bid was not the lowest in price but I appreciated the professionalism that their representative, Jason, showed during our initial meeting. There were no issues scheduling the work and I believe they were out within a week of my submitting the paperwork. I was not present while the work was completed but was very pleased with the quality of the work. They cleaned up my yard well and there was no indication that any ladders or equipment had even been on the yard. There was one significant issue with the work that should be mentioned: The crew mistakenly pruned the wrong Ash tree. I called Jason after I saw what happened; to his credit he apologized immediately for the mistake, let me know that they would be back out to prune the correct tree, and told me not to pay my bill until the situation was addressed. Ultimately, I benefited as I had a tree professionally pruned for free. It did take over a month before they were able to make out to my home again to complete the work, though that was mainly due to the February snow storms. When we were able to schedule the work, their crew again did an excellent job with the pruning and clean up. Overall, I would recommend Davey Tree in Horsham and would use them again.

They are totally professional and they don't perform services you don't need. They are very professional and let us know exactly what we need. They don't overcharge and are very reputable.

I have been using the services of Davey Tree / Horsham for near 20 years now. My contact Bob O'Roark is 100% professional and always goes above and beyond to take care of our lawn and trees. Last yeat I tried another provider who was offering a neighborhood/development special and was sorely disappointed! I'm with Davey now for keeps!

They were very professional. The man came out twice before the workers came so they could evaluate the best way to approach the job. He also evaluated two trees in our backyard and ended up taking one of them down as well. The were unable to honor the off season discount due to weather, but they still gave us a discount as a courtesy. They also did a very good job cleaning up both our front and back yards. When the main guy came back and noticed something that wasn't done right or he didn't like, he fixed it immediately.

They did a great job in shaping/pruning the trees. They also removed a a tree that was on it's last legs. I was very happy with Davey Tree Co. and would definitely use them again.

They did a good job. They did half of it and then made me wait two months before they came back and finished it. Other, than that, it went well. I paid it, so I was not dissatisfied. I would not use them again. They keep sending me offers and I keep trashing them.

I was very pleased with Davey Tree. The estimator showed up on time on Monday and the job with complete by Wednesday. They did an excellent job.

I am a repeat customer. I notified them by email. The date was set up online. Bob O'Rouke came out on the date and time. After I agreed to the work I was put on the schedule. I didn't worry about the time frame because I knew when my time comes up on the schedule they would be there. My only complaint was that the worker came to do the job on a wet raining day. This led to tracks on the lawn and not being able to clean up all the wood chips on the grass. However, when Bob was emailed with my concerns he immediately apologized and said the problem would be corrected. The constant raining made it difficult to come and correct the problem. However, Bob came himself and raked the lawn and added grass seeds. I am giving good grades because of the professionalism and commitment of Bob to satisfied the customer. I will still need to see how the grass comes back. My suggestion would be to inform customer if they want job done on a raining day. I probably would have chosen a dry day even if it meant being put further back on the schedule.

I especially needed an apple (crab) tree removed before it started to drop apples and drawing bees. I started in July. After I finally got on the schedule in August, and after a few phones calls, two men showed up on time and did a good job. The apples where dropping all over and still had the bee problem. The intent was to get the work done before bees started, along with the overdue maintenance work. Little kids next door and bee season--not good. The stumps of two trees cut down were not removed. They explained someone would be back on another day with another piece of equipment. No problem, that is reasonable. I waited for a couple of weeks and called the office. It is important to note that whoever answers the phone in the office can't tell if you are on the schedule to be worked or provide much info at all. I'd think 'stump removal would have a schedule for the equipment but apparently not. You always have to phone the Arborist who provided the estimate. About mid-September I called the Arborist/Estimater again explained that I received their invoice but was waiting to pay when the job was completed. I also advised that I was going on travel and wanted to get this finished up before I left mid Oct. No shows, no calls. Came home from travel (end Oct) and was thrilled that the stump was removed in the front of the house and then saw that it was not removed in the back (crab apple tree). Called the Arborist again and explained and he told me they could not get in the back because of car in driveway. Ok...reasonable but no one phoned to let anyone know that they were coming or the car could have been moved. Then Hurricane Sandy was due in and told him that I imagine they'd be doing a lot of emergency work and I understood they may be busy for a bit. Asked again that someone phones the night before to ensure they can get in the back. He assured me he'd get me on the schedule and have someone call. Here it is 19 Nov and still no phone, the second stump (crab apple tree) still not removed and I still have not paid the invoice. The Arborists were all very nice and professional but it is tiring phoning all the time. The work was fine when they showed up but there is no follow thru to completion. If I didn't have to constantly phone I'd have given higher rating. It is a shame because all of the men was nice guys.

I liked the consultation prior to doing the work; they sent a certified arborist out at no charge. He walked in my yard and let me know what I needed and what I didn't. I felt like he was a pretty straight shooter. It was absolutely pouring rain when they came out to do the work but they did it anyway; which I thought was good. Their price was average.

We live in a small townhome and were looking to have all our trees removed. We called, they came out for an estimate. Very professional, very reasonable. We scheduled it right away. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about was the waiting time to actually have the work done - however, I can't complain about that because it means they are a reputable company with a lot of work! They came out about two weeks later and did a wonderful job. Will be using them again, I am sure of that.

They were okay. They did not follow directions very well. They had somebody come in give the estimate and then other people came to do the job.

Called to schedule a property evaluation and get a cost estimate for some tree work I wanted done-- no issues with scheduling for the following week. The scheduled day came and the arborist (Mark) got lost due to some detours in the area. He was a tad late, but he called to let me know when he was en route, then again to tell me he'd be about 5 mintues late, then again to tell me he was lost and if I could help get him to my house. Not a big deal. I thought it was a little funny actually, but I really appreciated him calling to tell me he was on his way and then that he was having issues. He valued my time and schedule and that is a great quality to have. He finally arrived and everything went smoothly from there on. I had the A/C guy there at the same time, but Mark was very accommodating. We discussed what he thought I should have done and what I wanted done. He was very knowledgeable and answerewed all my questions. He drew up a quote for me on the spot and priced everything out in detail-- VERY COMPETITIVE!! I chose to go with another local company due to price alone (cheaper due to Angie's coupon) but would have definitely gone with them otherwise. I will for sure consider them in the future. Good experience overall.

At first they didn’t come out as often as I would liked. I decided to try them again and I like the way they redid my lawn. The lawn came out so perfect.

I had seen their trucks in my area for many years. They looked at the trees first and gave me an estimate. They gave me a fair price. They were on time and did a beautiful job. They pumped the liquid fertilizer into each bush in every tree. I wanted to be there when they pruned it and they were very nice about that. They arranged it in such a way that they came when I was there. My husband objected to the fact that they did not take away a lower branch. I got in touch with a horticulturist again and he was a bit rude. They did not send another person to take care of it.

The arborist was not available at the time I called so I left a message. He called back in less than an hour and after describing the work I wanted done, he said that his company doesn’t do that type of work. He was very courteous and even gave me the name of a company they often work with for the type of work I wanted done.

When speaking about trees, Bob, the man who comes to do the work at my home, is the most knowledgable person I have come across. The Davey Tree Company is very reliable and easy to work with. I always deal with the same person, and I really appreciate that he knows everything about my yard.

Initiation of the work was delayed due to the soggy ground conditions and the size of the machinery needed. When the Davey team arrived, the work went quickly and professionally, exceeding my expectations. I will definitely use Davey again.

I have been using their service from many years. They are just outstanding. They do a beautiful job. I have a very small job for them, so they come and do it when they have enough work in the area. When I call them, they come and check out what has to be done and they send me the quotation immediately. So, I do not exactly know what responsiveness would mean in this case. I would use their service in the future too.
