 + 0 moreIn brief, it went GREAT! After having several contractors look at a leaky roof near a skylight I decided to try Angie's list to get a recommendation. I found 3 providers on this site with A ratings. I called them all. 2 of them told me they wouldn't be able to be out for a few weeks. The team at Griffith told me how he understood my emergency and he would have one of his best guys swing by sometime in the next few days! A very polite, professional man came by the house one afternoon and looked around, assessed the situation, called his boss and discussed how to fit me in. Within 15 minutes he knew exactly what needed to be done and had slotted me in for the coming Saturday for repair. This was faster than any other roofer would even come out to assess the situation. That Saturday 3 people showed up and completed the work with the utmost professionalism and care. They were not in an extreme rush to finish and run off to the next job. They were completely focused on solving my problem. The team also spent significant time cleaning up and ensuring I felt comfortable with what they did. Finally, they called me after the next rain storm to check in on how things were going and if I had any further problems. I only wish there were more contractors like this. Professional, punctual, and good. They made me feel like they valued my business. Most contractors act like they are doing me a favor when I ask them to do something. This team genuinely wanted me to be happy and appreciate their work. WOW! I'd hire them again in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: The team came out and repaired a leaky roof near a skylight. A leak that several other contractors attempted to repair earlier this summer.

 + -1 moreI contacted the office to schedule an appointment to have an estimator come out to look at our roof and provide an estimate to replace. I was told the owner would be out on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. I explained my wife and I both work so we would not be home. i was told that was fine I would either receive a phone call or an estimate vie e-mail. We did receive some rain on that Tuesday but not until later in the afternoon. As of the today, 6/22/13, I have no idea if the roofer came out or not. We did NOT receive a phone call to say he could not come out due to the weather and would need to reschedule, We still have not received an estimate, so I presume no one came out. A little common courtesy is all I ask for. If they could not make it due to weather, then at least call and reschedule. If they did come out, why is it 4 days later and no estimate?

 + -1 moreGriffith Exteriors is very a reliable and quality conscious contractor. I would rate his work, price and reliability as a ?10?. He replaced my roof in one day with a team of men that knew exactly what to do and barely needed to speak with each other so experienced were they. The owner?s father in law was on-site the entire time and watched everything carefully. This work was done about six months ago and there have been no problems. The price was fair, they did great work, cleaned up carefully and were very nice with whom to work. The owner Kris gave me good advice. I do highly recommend this contractor.

Description of Work: I had some shingles blow off of my roof during all the storms the past couple months. I called Kris last week and he was very polite and courteous. When i told him what I needed done, he told me that he had a $175 coupon for Angie's List members to do the roof maintenance, which meant replacing the missing shingles but also gaving my roof a once-over. We scheduled for Wednesday the following week and his guy Rob was here. The experience was great. Rob fixed the roof and then I received an invoice in my email, being as busy as I am this was awesome! If I ever need roofing or siding work done, I know who to go to now. Thanks Kris!

 + -1 moreAfter Hurricane Sandy had done its damage Griffith Exteriors came out to do an estimate and eventually re-roofed our home. I liked how quick they were to call us back and they came out as soon as possible to tarp our roof in order to prevent any further damge. They performed good work in a timely manner, as quickly as they could, due to the bad weather. The owner Chris, is very friendly and very communicative. I have referred Griffith Exteriors to my neighbors.

 + -1 moreWe incurred roof damage during Superstorm Sandy, after reading the reviews on Angie's List we decided to call Griffith Exteriors. Kris answered our call and came out the next day to look at the roof, provided helpful literature on the products his company uses and even placed some patches to ensure the damaged areas did not leak. My husband and I knew other people experienced greater damage than us, so we told Kris no rush, but he provided a quote for the roof very quickly. We were impressed with the professionalism and friendliness Kris showed on his visit to our home. We scheduled with him right away. Due to other scheduled jobs and some winter weather our job on the calendar for February/March timeframe. Kris and his crew arrived at 7:30am on Thursday and completed the main house by 5pm. This included removal of the old roof, installing the new, and a very detailed clean-up. The crew arrived Friday morning and finished the detached garage by mid-day. They were incredibly professional, efficient, and courteous. The foreman (Rod) was very courteous and kept me updated throughout the day. It was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend Griffith Exteriors!

Description of Work: We just had our roof replaced by Griffith Exteriors. We could not be happier in every aspect from beginning to end. Kris Griffith is EXTREMELY responsive and professional. He came out promptly and provided an estimate. We had four other roofers provide us with estimates and while they were all in the same general ballpark, Kris' Angies List Coupon and wonderful reviews pushed him over the top and we awarded him the job. Kris kept us appraised every step of the way and even came back out again when we were having trouble picking a roof color/shingle to go with. He was very patient and knowledgeable and spent time going over the choices so when the final decision was made, we were completely comfortable. And the end result was so beautiful, we were overjoyed! They came when they said they were going to and with this unpredictable spring, was no easy feat. But Kris kept us informed every step of the way and when Mother Nature finally cooperated after a few delays, they were there as promised. The roof looks amazing and we have already received numerous compliments. The best part was they cleaned up so well afterward, it was hard to tell anyone had been there! I was sure after being there during the installtion and seeing the extensive mess that my husband and I were going to spend alot of time picking up and cleaning up afterward. But other than a few tiny pieces of stray plastic that even we had to look hard to find, our home and yard were left immaculate! And they had someone on site throughout the entire process overseeing and making sure things were done well and as promised. I cannot recommend Griffith Exteriors highly enough! They wre amazing to work with and truly an upstanding and outstanding company to work with.

 + -1 moreI contacted Griffith to replace my leaking roof because of their high rating on Angie's LIst. Steve showed up on Wednesday right on time. I went up on the roof with him, explained the situation to him carefully, and asked for an estimate for replacing the roof, including plywood and ice shield. He said that that would not be a problem and that I'd have it by Friday. Two weeks later, after receiving no estimate (or phone call or email,) I hired someone else who provided a detailed estimate over the Web with material and labor within an hour of their visit, and completed the job within four days. I have interviewed and hired many contractors over the past few years and I am tired of chasing them to try and give them my money. If they don't want my business, then I won't give it to them.
Description of Work: They came to examine my leaking roof and never provided the promised estimate. No work was done.

 + -1 moreIn a word: WOW. We had some water damage on our second-floor ceiling. We had long suspected that a rubber sealant had dry-rotted, but it just took us a while to reach out to a roofer. A trusted neighbor referred us to Griffith Exteriors. We called, and within a couple of hours, someone was at our house to diagnose the problem. As it turned out, it WAS a seal (two, actually) that needed to be replaced. The roofer also nailed down two sections of easement (sp?) that were pulling. We would ABSOLUTELY contact this company again if we had another problem--large or small--and when the time comes for a new roof (hopefully not for 10+ years, knock wood!), we will definitely request an estimate from Griffith Exteriors. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the service was unable to be performed due to the fact that I had gutter guards. I spoke with Chris, the owner, and he refunded my money promptly.  + 0 moreThe team of 7 or 8 roofers arrived promptly at 7:00 am, set up large sheets of plastic to protect the house and gardens, and set to work removing the existing roof. In a short time, all the shingles were off and they were removing the nails and flashing. Heavy rolls of felt were stapled into place and shingles and new flashing were installed. The whole job was completed by 2:00 pm, including removing every scrap of trash and every nail from my lawn. The roof looks outstanding! It solves the problem of needing a new roof and makes the house look great besides. Even the flashing matched the color of the shingles. I am completely satisfied with Griffith Exteriors on this job and am planning to have them do more work on my house. Both Kris Griffith and his team of workers are friendly and polite. I was very comfortable having them working on my home. Kris is very knowledgable and professional. He was able to help us understand the various costs and tradeoffs that helped us make decisions concerning various aspects of the job. He has a nice relaxed style for discussing the project and doesn't attempt to pressure you to buy things you don't really need. His estimate was very reasonable and the job came in exactly as estimated. We highly recommend Griffith Exteriors and, as mentioned previously, plan to have them make other major improvements to the exterior of our home.
Description of Work: Griffith Exteriors removed my existing roof and installed a new roof. My house has three roof sections - garage, family room, and main house, as well as a roof over the back patio. They also replaced the flashing around the chimneys and vents.

Description of Work: I found dealing with this company a favorable experience. We had the roof vents on the side of our house replaced. They came out promptly and we were given a cost estimate within 24 hours. It took longer than expected to get the vents from the suppllier.(two weeks) and we were given a price adjustment because it took longer than expected to start the job. We were very please with the work and the professionalism of the company.

 + -1 moreGriffith Exteriors was very prompt in their reply back to my message. I called them Wednesday evening around 5:30pm and Kris Griffith returned my call at 7:00pm that night. He was polite and very accommodating. He even apologized for not calling back sooner. We have never received a call back from another contractor in the evening hours. I was told his crew would be in the area tomorrow working on other roofs and that they would stop by and have it repaired by the end of the day. When they arrived in the afternoon, they placed a number of colored shingles on the roof for myself and his crew to decide on which matched the best. The roof was repaired!! Kris was easy to deal with and extremely professional. He never attempted to sell me more than what I actually needed - what a concept!! I would highly recommend his service and would use them again.
Description of Work: Roof shingles were blown off during hurrican Sandy. Griffith Exteriors matched our shingles to theirs and repaired the damaged area with replacement shingles.
