Description of Work: When we finally decided to redo our roof, siding/stone, gutters, and porch redesign we met with over 10 contractors. It can be a difficult task and take weeks to check references, cross reference BBB to Angies' list, follow up on friends and family recommendations, check shingle manufactures for certified installers, check on liability and workmen's comp insurance, check out the warranties, look at jobs recently completed by the contractors, setting up appointments when both husband and wife are available (which is a difficult thing in many households) etc. It isn't much fun. Then there are the scare tactics some contractors use that make you wonder how in the world could you ever allow anyone other than them on your roof (my goodness, what if there is a fall, it won't be your home anymore; it'll belong to the injured person). The above notwithstanding, we had a good feeling about Kris Griffith the moment he arrived for our appointment. From the moment we met Kris, we could tell he was different from many of the contractors we had spoke with. To start with, it is his name on the Company! He is not a salesman. He doesn't try to dazzle you with fancy Powerpoint presentations and other promotional material. Rather, he comes across as genuine and sincere....sincere in his desire to meet your expectations for a reasonable price. But he goes beyond that, offering his own suggestions to help us bring to light our vision for our home in away that creates maximum value for the investment one is contemplating. He seemed genuinely excited about the entire project. When we explained that we wanted to differentiate our home from the rest in our development, he gave some tangible suggestions that no one else had envisioned and that did not add materially to the price of the job (e.g., extending the two front gable rakes and then building a soffit overhang to connect the lower and upper gables, metal roofing in a smaller roofing areas, etc.). No one else had any suggestions, other than adding stone to the front of the house, which we contemplated doing anyway. We loved his idea of extending the gable rakes and if we had a smaller area to do a metal accent roof (i.e. over a portico) we'd have done that as well. His estimate for the roof, rake extensions, siding/capping, shutters, headers with keystones, gutters and porch redesign was more than reasonable especially after seeing some of the estimates from his larger, more advertised peers. Griffith Exteriors did not do the stone work themselves but coordinated my wishes to Exterior Walls, Inc. of Flourtown, PA. Kris coordinated his siding crews with the stone work so there was never a time that no one was sitting waiting for the others to finish up. The cost of the stone work was also reasonable and I know that Kris did not pad it for his coordination work, as I was emailed a copy of the estimate that Exteriors Walls had sent to Griffith's email. Griffith is reliable and we could depend that Kris and his crew would show up and start their work by 7:30 AM, everyday. They would work until about 7:00 PM. Both he and his crews were very respectful and appreciative of our feedback as the job was progressing. They were all also very mindful of the flowers surrounding our home and were conscious about cleaning up at the end of the day before leaving the property. I felt completely at ease letting his crew use our family restroom and cleanliness was never an issue. It may not be an issue to many, but I felt it was not only comforting, but a sign of interest and caring, that Kris Griffith, actually picked up his calls himself each time I called him. It's tough to find that today. In addition to the above referenced work, Griffith Exteriors also put us in touch with a reputable Garage Door manufacturer/installer. This bill was also not padded for their coordination work as noted in an email from Door company to Griffith Exteriors explaining their charges. Griffith Exteriors also did the pick up and installation of a Pella storm door and fiberglass entry door, purchased through Lowes. Cost of the installation was the same for Lowes and Griffith but we ran into problems with defective locks on the Pella entry door and had to reorder new lock sets twice, and Kris returned to our home twice to replace the locks at no additional cost. The high quality of Griffith Exteriors workmanship is evident when we look at the finished project. Griffith Exteriors is a top notch contractor and the best way to describe them is PERFECTION! We would be thrilled to recommend Griffith Exteriors to family and friends and are confident that they would not be able to find someone better. In summary, I will end this commentary with another small example that typifies the kind of care and devotion Kris brought to our job. At the conclusion of the job, Kris showed up to replace the door bell on our porch with one that better matched the color scheme we had chosen for our new exterior pella door. It was a small gesture, but it was this kind of little thing that totally reinforced in our mind that we could not have made a better choice in contractors than Kris Griffith.
