We have a contract, so it didn't cost me anything. So far, so good.

They deliver right on time and perform yearly tune-up on schedule.

I've been with them for at least 4 - 5 years. They're expensive, they're more expensive for the oil and everything, but I've been with them so long, and they're so dependable, and if I have any issues for oil, I get like automatic delivery, so I've never ran out of oil as long as I've been with them and I'm not even on the budget plans, you know I got pass, I got the oil, I had been on a budget plan but I got really behind, I got to get away with that so I just pay whenever I need it.

Oil priced much higher than other suppliers. The company forgot to schedule annual maintenance on the boiler.

I've never gone to anyone else and I'm very happy with their work.

I’ve used them for 24 years. I thought the price is reasonable. I only changed provider because I moved and I no longer have oil. It was good work. They fixed what they have to fix and they maintained our system.

The night of the 23rd, I felt a little cold. I checked the thermostat in my hallway and noticed that the actual temperature was several degrees below the set temperature. The only time this normally happens is when the temperature is automatically reset during the day. This was not one of those times. I went to the basement to check the furnace. All the zone lights were on (this indicated that all zones were calling for heat) but the furnace was not on. Checking further I noticed that the emergency cut-off light was blinking indicating that the furnace automatically shut down. This happens occasionally (the last time was several years ago) so I simply pressed the reset button. The furnace came on and I waited to make sure the furnace didn't shut-off. The furnace worked fine until very early morning (about 2 am) of the 25th. Checking around I discovered the same situation as before and I solved it the same way by pressing the reset switch. Later in the morning of the 25th (about 10 am), I again noticed that the temperature was too cold and in checking the furnace, discover the same situation. At this point I decided to no nothing and called Meenan. The woman who answered was very polite as I described what happened and that I would like a technician to look at my furnace. She scheduled the service call and said a technician would be out sometime today and that they would call about 30 minutes before. About two hours later, the doorbell rang. The technician had arrived. I had not received a call. After explaining the situation to the technician and showing him the furnace, I left him to do his job, About 45 minutes later, he finished. He said that he really did not find anything wrong except that a transformer output was a little low. He replaced the transformer. The technician was easy to talk to and he was polite. It has now been two days and the furnace is working fine. I would use Meenan again.

We burn wood so it's very rare. The service is fine. They delivered it. I didn't expect them to deliver it so it was unexpected. I just had to pay the bill.

I have been with Meenan Oil for a long time. The only issue is I have them on a budget and it is inconsistent on when they do it.

Their service has been very good.

Their service has been working out good. They didn't charge because I had a contract. They are okay. Their prices are high. The professionalism is good.

I guess everything went fine. My tenants dealt with them more than I did.

They're fine. When I do see them, they're very professional. We've used them for years. It was some time back when we ran out of oil. We're on their plan and we're not supposed to run out of oil but we did. Overall, they're fine.

This service appointment was originally scheduled for noon to 4 PM on Wednesday June 4th, 2014. This appointment was made sometime in mid-March, 2014. Meenan called me about 12:30 or 1 pm on June 4th and asked me if I would mind a change in schedule to June 25, 2014 at the same time. Meenan said that this was due to a usually heavy demand for air conditioner service, I agreed. Today, June 15, 2014, Meenan called and asked me if I could have the service done today instead. I verified the date several times since today was Sunday. After being assured it would be today, I agreed. A little later Meenan called to say the next service technician comes on duty at 3 PM and that my furnace would be his first stop. The service technician (John) showed up a little after 3:30 PM. He was courteous and went right to work. He was finished in a little over one hour. He found nothing wrong with my furnace and did the usual preventative maintenance (cleaning, replacing the nozzle and oil filter, etc.). When John had me sign the service form, he informed me about some of the things not covered by my service contract. I have the Silver plan, the lowest of Meenan's three plans. John was not pushy, he simply stated the items that were not covered by the Silver plan but are covered by the middle plan (Gold). John mentioned that I could have the plan changed at any time, just call the office. I am satisfied with John's service.

I use them for my heating oil and the service contract on my heater. I have an annual contract with them so the service was just billed into that. There was no extra cost. I like their promptness to respond in times of emergencies and the quality of their work. I have always had positive experiences with them. The only issue that I have would be the cost of the oil seems high. You pay a little extra for the oil when you need to fill it in with that.

I have been a Meenan home heating oil customer since 2002...11 years with a brief 8 month interruption when I converted my property into a rental. In February 2013, the property reverted back to a primary residence and I entered into a new heating contract with Meenan Oil for one year. The initial oil delivery was at $4.199/gallon and I put a capped contract in place capping at $4.699/gallon. My understanding was that the contract with Meenan was the lower of market or cap for future deliveries. Well, was I wrong. I just had 78 gallons of oil delivered in October 2013 at $4.499/gal which is $0.30 HIGHER than what I paid in February while oil prices since February have DROPPED $0.60-0.70 per gallon. In re-reading the Meenan contract I have come to find that the, and I quote, "Your actual delivered price, which includes the cost of the ceiling protection, will vary based on market conditions including, but not limited to, product availability, wholesale cost and (I love this) other factors, but will not exceed the ceiling price." When I called Meenan, they could not give me a valid breakdown of how my $4.499/gallon price was determined just that it based on the cost when I put the contract in place despite that dramatic decline in oil prices. So in other words, any future oil pricing was going to be a black box pricing. What GALLS and APPALS me is that the price was $0.30 MORE than what I paid when oil prices were dramatically higher. Meenan did offer to lower the price and put a new cap contract in place BUT ONLY if I signed a new one year contract which would take me to 11/2014... H*** NO. When I asked if my future delivery prices would be at the lower of market or cap if I took the new contract, Roseanne told me that it would be $0.14 above market per gallon. When I asked if that would be in the contract she said, "Well all our conversations are recorded." When I said I wanted it explicitly written in the contract, she put me on hold to check and when she came back on the line, she quickly said, "no BUT here's all the reasons you want to stay with Meenan." Oh, did I mention that the fee to cancel the contract early is $399?!?! Needless to say, I am going to ride out the current contract until 3/1/2014, use as little oil as possible given that I'm paying OVER INFLATED PRICES per gallon and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER call Meenan again...except to cancel the contract since they won't take a forward dated cancelation. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS...there are FAR BETTER AND CHEAPER oil companies that offer price protection plans that are simply the lower of current market price OR cap whichever is cheaper and don't have some convoluted pricing that requires a PhD in derivative mathematics to determine. Oh and one oil company I spoke with told me I was the 6th or 7th Meenan customer to call them this week to switch service so I know I am not the only one in the area that is being gouged by this company. Bye Bye Meenan! Update 10/25/2013: Chris Boyle, General Manager from Meenan Oil, called me after I sent my registered notice of cancellation and request for detailed pricing breakdown based on the one page "contract". He admitted that the cost of oil has numerous factors for Meenan, including (hold on for this) their union contract costs. Their capped cost program would be almost impossible (in my opinion) to accurately determine what price would be paid in the future and I basically said you might as well throw a dart at the board. Meenan did voluntarily offer to lower the price for the last delivery to their promotional price of $3.799/gallon (which is still higher than most I called to switch to) and adjust our cap price going forward without an extension to the contract and knowing we will leave them in March 2014. I thanked Chris for this offer and advised it was never really about the cost, per se, it was about an ongoing unknown and very, very black box pricing. But, I'm happy to have the savings.

We've parted ways with Meenan Oil last year after being transferred due to other company buyouts. We started in 1977 with Sico Oil co., then was transferred to Lieffer then Lieffer-Meenan and finally Meenan. We would "lock in" a not to exceed price, and were told if the price would go lower we would be charged the lower price. After closely watching local oil prices the last two years, we realized that Meenan ALWAYS charged the maximum, even though prices were falling. We now use a company that posts it's current pricing on line.

After the initial low cost oil delivery, the prices gradualy went up from the general prices in the geographic area. Also, some times, the cost was so high that I questioned if a mistake had been made on the ticket. in both cases, they said an "error" had been made. As 3 other people on the street had this vendor, we compared prices and found that they varied even if the delivery was on the same day (and should have been the same price for the same plan). I believe that Meenan employs a pricing strategy to maximise profits (which is not illeagal), but which I do not want tosupport. I now have oil deliveries from a vendor who posts the daily price on the internet.

Recently, their customer service and pricing have both declined (all on-site services and delieveries, however, have been good -- no issues). I recently had to battle with their customer service group to resolve an issue where I was charged twice for AC servicing. Most recently, I tried to schedule an annual heater tune-up, and the nearest available date for servicing was five months out (I was told I should have scheduled earlier in the season -- as if that is a reasonable response to a five-month scheduling window). Over the years, they have been a good provider. But if things don't improve, I will switch to a different provider.

Cleaned and inspected our oil heater. I thought they did a good job until we got a new contractor who showed us everything the missed. We paid for the oil delivery service were they were to deliver oil on a regular schedule making sure we never ran out. They never delivered and we ran out of oil, on, I believe it was a Saturday night. When I called a few times, I finally got through to their emergency service after making several calls and explaining the situation and that we had a newborn in the house. Finally they agreed to send someone out but would charge me $150 for the emergency service. Needless to say I was very upset but needed oil so I agreed to the charge. Everyone that knows me, laughs at this! They sent out a policeman and a guy with 2 ea 5 gallon tanks to be us through the weekend. So I was quite shocked when the police knocked on the door. I actually laughed when the police asked if I was going to give the guy a hard time. I explained I was very happy he was here and explained the full situation. The police promptly left. It took another 10 calls or so to get them to agree to refund some of the money. About a month later a person from Meenan called wanting to know what they could do to get us back as a client. That was a funny conversation. It took about another month before I received the refund check.

I liked them because they were responsive and flexible. I absolutely would use them again.

They do a good job and we're very happy with them. They are very good and they got the job done in one attempt and they were clean when they repaired the burner.

My experience has been excellent. They are good.

Overall one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with.

THE WORK THE FIRST PLUMBER DID WAS INCOMPLETE AT BEST. HE MISGUAGED THE NOZZLE SUCH THAT MY OIL BURNER WAS BURNING WAY TOO RICH. THE BURNER WAS ON ALL THE TIME AND NOT DOING THE JOB. I THEN HAD A SECOND GUY COME OUT MANY WEEKS LATER. HE REPLACED THE NOZZLE. NOW IT MAKES A RATTLING SOUND AND SEEMS TO LOSE PRESSURE.
