Went well, and was done quickly and correctly.
Description of Work: Sabol did spot repointing on my brick house and on some of the cinderblock foundation. They also removed tons of old caulking around my front porch steps and filled it with new. it looks so much nicer now. They did a great job and it took about 2 days (slightly less) They are very thorough.

Very well. They responded quickly with an estimate, performed the work quickly and reliably, and the price was much better than other estimates I had received. I was very satisfied with their work and customer service. I would highly recommend them.

We called 3 companies to look at the work we needed done and got 2 estimates in the process. A few days after we called Sabol Masonry, Paul Sabol came to see what needed to be done and gave us his estimate later that afternoon. Not only was he able to schedule the job for the following Monday, which was sooner than the other company we considered, but his estimate was lower. Terry and Ryan showed up promptly on Monday morning, introduced themselves and went over the work to be done. They did a great job, even doing some repairs on another area that they saw needed attention.
Description of Work: We needed loose bricks reset on the front area of our brick patio and on the large step leading to the front door . The step also needed cracked mortar joints ground and pointed.

We started the process of receiving estimates mid-late March 2013.Based on the numerous excellent reviews and receiving 3 other quotes, we went with Sabol Masonry. Paul was not the lowest, nor the highest, but the interaction with Linda and Paul during the process of requesting an estimate helped solidify our choice. Linda almost always answered the phone when I called. On the rare occasion when I did leave a message, my call was returned within hours. We were eager to have our chimney work completed as we were doing several exterior projects and the chimney repair needed to be completed before we could move onto other work. Paul called on 4/26 stating he would start our project at the end of next week or the beginning of the following week. On Monday, 4/29 I received a call from Paul stating that he could start our job on 4/30 as he was unable to reach another client to confirm work at their home starting on 4/30. Paul and his team arrived on time. He explained the work he would be performing and confirmed it would take one day to complete. Paul and his team were careful with the scaffolding set up and avoided the plants in the front of our home. They left the job site clean and without any waste left behind. Should I have any future needs, I would not hesitate to use Sabol Masonry, Inc. Everything about our experience was exceptional.

Linda Sabol answered the phone when I called and Paul came out to give me an estimate the next day. When I explained that I was getting the house ready to sell Paul was happy to take a look around and see if there were any other items that would catch the attention of the building inspector (that I'd have to pay to have fixed anyway), so I was able to get everything done in one go. Paul and his crew were professional and very personable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or hire them again!

We had some trouble finding a good time to schedule the job because of the weather (mortar job in the winter), but when the weather cleared Paul fit us into his schedule on a Sunday morning. Paul is a really nice guy and took the time to explain to me exactly what steps he'd take to complete the job. He also thanked me for the business, which I appreciated. He is reasonably priced. He did a very good job matching up the color for 20 yr old mortar. Most important, you can't tell the joint was repaired (same color, style, etc). While he was here he also found and fixed a minor step crack in our stairs at no charge. Paul cleaned up the area where he was working before he left. We are very pleased and would use Paul again.

Sabol responded within 24 hours to my request for a quote and visited the site shortly thereafter. They called before they visited the site and called again after the visit to review the quote and answer any questions. The work was scheduled based on the timing that I requested and once again they called to confirm. The workers were very professional and left the site so neat it was not obvious that they were there. They returned a week later to water seal the work and I did not have to call to remind them. The work looks great and I expect it to last. I received a much lower quote from another company but they did not even attempt to address the root cause. I would definitely use Sabol again.

Very well done! Both he & Linda were very professional in returning phone calls in a timely manner. They explained everything really well & when we needed clarification, they followed through w/ a phone call. We couldn't be on site for the estimate...yet our communication w/ them was enough to get the correct estimate completed. When the work was scheduled, they followed through as they promised & on time! It was nice to see how neat the work was done. They even cleaned up the mortar joints from a previous job. We were impressed & would hire this team again. Keep in mind, we weren't able to be on site for the estimate or when the work was done, yet they completed it as we expected & to our satisfaction! We think that says alot. Thank you Sabol Masonry
Description of Work: They knocked down a non-functional chimney & capped it off. They removed a window from 2nd floor bathroom & bricked it in using the brick from the chimney. Mortar joints were raked & re-pointed on entire back wall.

I called late in the season and was very surprised at how quickly the contractor responded. The work could not have gone better. The workers were on time, polite and professional. The quality of the work is unsurpassed. The work was done in one day! (I think the work area was actually cleaner after they finished than it was before they started!) I WILL use them for any future masonry work.

I needed to have my roof replaced and when I was receiving bids on this work I was informed by the roofers that I had a problem with my chimney. I contacted several masons and had originally requested a bid on my chimney and front porch (which had needed work for some time). When Paul came, however, I requested that he do an over-all inspection and identification of any problem areas as we walked together around my home. He did so and then provided me with a written estimate. His pricing was in line with the other bids I received (some were lower and one was higher). In addition to the positive reviews on Angies's List that I had read, Sabol Masonry was recommended to me by a friend who had used and been quite pleased with their service. Initially there had been some concern that due to the amount of work they were currently handling they would not be able to do the job before my roofer was scheduled. This worked out, however, and the work was able to be done prior to the arrival of the roofer. I was not at home when the last of the work was completed, and when I spoke later with them I questioned the appearance of one small item. Without hesitation they told me they would come back and correct the issue as their objective was to have the work meet my specifications. I was very pleased with my experience with Sabol Masony. I found them to be knowledgeable, professional, and the work was completed as scheduled in a timely manner. During one of our conversations I complimented Paul on the ease of dealing with his office. Linda (his wife who who handles the calls) is lovely to deal with -- responsive and eager to offer assistance. He related that he often receives similar compliments. I have already recommended them to a friend, and a neighbor noted that after observing their work he would confidently hire them if he needed masonry work done.
Description of Work: My work included: the chimney where loose brick on top was removed (several rows) and reset in a new bed of mortar; cracked mortar joints were ground back and pointed and a new cement wash-cap was installed on top. At my request he removed original bricks from the back of the chimney which were then used on the front porch area because matching bricks were not available due to the age of my home. In addition to the replacement of broken bricks on the front porch, cracked mortar joints were ground back and pointed. A lintel was replaced above one of my windows where I had a leak in the gutter above which caused severe cracking. Additionally, places which needed spot pointing were done -- some of which I had previously noted and some of which were identified during Paul's inspection of my home.

See the notes above, a very positive experience!!!
Description of Work: I contacted Sabol Masonry, left a voicemail and received a return call within 1 day. I was advised that Paul would contact me prior to visiting my home to look at the job. I needed a new wash cap and the chimney needed pointed from the top down at a distance of approximately 2 or 3 feet from the top. Within one week Paul contacted me and came out on a Saturday morning to look at the job. He worked up an estimate and I had it within several days after his visit. I signed the contract, returned it and told them to put me in their schedule. I receive a call within a week or so advising me the work would be performed on October 25, 2012 and the crew would arrive between 8 and 8:30 am. Long story short....they arrived on time as promised, did an excellent job and cleaned up everything before they left the job. The entire project went as promised, Sabol Masonry employees are very polite and professional and more importantly, very talented !!! The new mortar matched the existing mortar perfectly!! They did an excellent job and now my chimney does not leak!!! If you need chimney repair work, look no further, these guys are really good!!! The project went exceptionally well. We called Paul for an estimate and he came the next day and advised us that we needed to rebuild our chimney rather than repair it. Our home is 70 years old. Paul said he would check and see if he could get a close match to the brick. Paul worked us into his schedule due to our travel schedule. He arrived at our home at 8:am and Paul and his two employees immediately started to dismantel our chimney to the roofline. They worked all day and Paul said he would finish the new chimney the next day. The cleanup was excellent and it didn't look like we were having work done. The next morning Paul and his employees arrived punctually and we were amazed that the brick Paul chose completely matched our old brick. With the threat of rain, Paul decided to work late to finish the job so that there could be no possible damage if it rained. Paul went out of his way to complete our project and we were more than pleased with the work that he did. We also enjoyed working with Linda who arranged the schedule and kept us informed if there were any change in plans. We felt like we knew Linda like an old friend. She is courteous, pleasant, efficient and diligent. It was a pleasure to work with Paul and Linda. We are planning to use Paul to repoint our driveway walls in the Spring.

I was unable to be home for the initial visit for the estimate so Mr. Sabol called and I walked him through everything on the phone while he was at my property. I had a quote in the mail the next day. I did go out for competitive quote and found Sabol's quote to be competitive. They were very responsive and answered all of my questions. They put me on the scheduled as soon as they were able (I expressed that there was no "rush" for the job). On day one, the crew showed up on time. Mr. Sabol introduced me to the crew and they set to work. I went out to check on their progress a few times and they were friendly, professional, and explained what they were doing. By the end of the work day, work on the first job was complete. The crew cleaned up completely-- I would never have known they were there. The brickwork looked fantastic. The second day the crew came (on time again) for the foundation, introduced themselves, and again set to work. One section was in pretty bad shape. By the time they were done, the foundation looked brand new. I was very pleased. Again, they cleaned up completely and it was like they were never even there. I would highly recommend Sabol Masonry to anyone. It was refreshing to work with a contractor who did a fantastic job from quote through completion.

We chose Paul Sabol's estimate because (not the lowest or highest, but reasonable) he cared as much about preserving the look of our 1930 Tudor brick house as he did about doing a quality job repairing the weathered and cracked mortar. He also had an innovative idea to use the old brick planter supports under the front window (which we don't use) to replace the damaged brick pillars on the front porch. His crew consisted of his two sons and an additional guy as needed. The work took two weeks with rain delays and weekends. The crew was respectful, worked long and hard in the summer heat, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The only mishap was a broken marble window sill when the brick sill beneath it was reset. The company offered to pay for the repair, but the guy who broke it is picking up a replacement and installing it himself. The chimney, whose top row of bricks had no mortar left at all, looks beautiful. Paul even put screens over the extended liners free of charge. The crew asked me to take a look to see if there was anything missed, and was happy to fill the minor holes I found. Paul's company has an experienced and skilled crew whose integrity and respectfulness are impressive in this day and age.
Description of Work: -Chimney: removed top 3' of chimney brickwork, cleaned bricks to reuse, extended chimney liner, installed new cement wash cap, spot-pointed chimney shoulders. -3 front pillars: replaced broken bricks, ground out and pointed cracked mortar joints. -Front brick porch: spot pointed and ground back and pointed where needed. -All brick window sills ground back and pointed, one to be reset. -Wall by gas meter: ground back and pointed. -All cracked mortar joints on house ground back and pointed.

I contacted three Angie's list A rated companies for estimates on the work to be done. Paul Sabol from Sabol Masonry came out the next day and told me that the chimney would need to be rebuilt and the liner and caps on both chimneys would need to be replaced (apparently they were never properly sized nor installed). He was very professional and knowledgeable without being condescending and gave me an estimate right then. Over the next few days the other masonry companies came and gave me the exact same dollar figure of a quote which covered the cost of just re-pointing of the chimney. They were as adamant about the need to only re-point it as Paul was about the absolute need to rebuild it. Any other work I needed was going to cost hundreds extra. I decided to go with the rebuild and all of the other work Paul's crew would do. It is a family owned business which I also like to support. The work was beautiful, the crew was very responsible, clean and courteous. There was a small issue with the front step and it needed to be addressed...which they did the very next work day. Linda (handles appointments/problems), Paul and their guys were great and I will hire them again for any masonry work. I highly recommend them.

Several lintels had corroded and failed, causing damage to the adjacent brick and mortar joints. I solicited pricing from 3 masonry contractors and settled on Sabol based on their reputation and reasonable price. (They were actually the lowest price of the 3 bidders.) They were able to schedule the work sooner than they originally thought and completed the job in less than 2 days. The quality of the work is excellent. Mortar color is an absolute match. Clean-up and protection of adjacent surfaces was excellent. They have my highest recommendation. (I am asking them to price chimney restoration!)

First I must say that there was an issue with my neighbors plants that were growing against the brick wall where the work was to be done. He, Paul, gave my neighbor an opportunity to move the plants out of the way. The owner Paul and his employee arrived at my house and after introducing themselves, they got to work. When I arrived home from work in the afternoon, I had a newly repaired wall. Additionally, if I hadn't seen them that morning I would not have known they were there. The area was completely cleaned up. The wall which was in a state of disrepair looked great. He returned the next day to point the house. Again, they are true professionals. They did a great job. I'm going over my place with a fine tooth comb in hopes that I find something else for him to do. It was by far one of the better experiences I've had with a company.

Mr. Sabol responded within a day to my request for a bid on the work, came out that evening to view the job and provide a verbal quote. I was satisfied with his apparent expertise and committed immediately to the offer. He happened to have a cancellation and was able to come out and do the work today..It was a very dirt producing job, buy when they left, the area was cleaner than before they started, Not only was I very happy, but my wife who has an eye for the smallest defect was extremely happy with the work.

The whole experience was wonderful. Because of my work schedule and the fact I don't live on the property it is sometimes difficult to schedule an appointment, but Paul was easy to work with and we met within a couple of days of my calling for an appointment. I had thought the two chimney's would have to be torn down and rebuilt, but Paul suggested that they just be repointed and missing brick either be replaced or filled in and the chimney's painted (the house is all brick and painted). A much more economical approach to the problem and one that I really appreciated him coming up with. His crew showed up on Monday and were all done by Thursday late morning. The crew was wonderful answered all the questions I had and cleaned up after themselves to the point you wouldn't have known they had been there (except the chimney's looked 1000% better). The roof of this home is slate and they also took all the necessary precautions not to damage it. When I went to the property Thursday I was so happy with what I saw I could have cried. The chimney's were beautiful! Paul and Linda are just wonderful to work with and I feel if we lived in the same area we would all be great friends! Thank you!
Description of Work: Called for an estimate to rebuild two 90 year old chimney's that had had no work done on them in probably 60 years. Chimney's were repointed, brick replaced and filled in where missing and repainted.
