They were punctual and very good at communicating. Very clean and respectful to me and my family. Very good quality. Carl and his team were very professional with everything that they did.

They came out to my home and realized that I had purchased the wrong deal. They recommended I get a refund. They were very professional and explained how they could help me in the future.

Carl and his employees were very professional. The wait to have the work done was well worth it. I can see why he is so busy. Steps and landing are perfect. His crew cleaned the entire area when they were finished.

Carl was responsive from the very beginning. I hired him in March but with the difficult winter and rainy spring, there were many job previously booked ahead of mine but he kept in occasional contact so I knew he had not forgotten me. The job looks fantastic!! They made the new work match the old as best as possible. If you are not searching, you can not tell what was done. The workers showed up on time, stuck to the estimated times, cleaned up thoroughly after themselves, and were polite.

The entire job went very well. Carl and his team are highly professional and experts at what they do. I also appreciate their full disclosure of what they can do as well as what they believe others may do better (e.g. siding on our home I had originally asked for estimate on). They specialize in everything to do with masonry and it shows. I would definitely recommend to others and use them again when in need of similar work.

It went very very well. Carl and his crew arrived on time every day and worked long, hard days. Carl kept us abreast of progress and checked in at key decision points. They left everything clean and neat at the end of every day (the project took about 10 days). Carl realized when he built the retaining wall that something extra was needed to keep a short hillside from collapsing or running off in the rain and suggested a short extension made from cobblestones. We agreed and it looks terrific. He has a good eye--his company is aptly named. When he poured the driveway apron, he shaved down the granite blocks that edge the street and frame the driveway (not sure what these are called) to make a more graceful and safe entrance to the driveway. He stays in touch and returns calls promptly. He is thoroughly professional and we'd hire him again in a heartbeat. He is, in fact, returning to do a small project for us as his schedule permits.

We saw other reviews mentioning that this company is in demand meaning a long wait, so we asked Carl to come out during February to give us an estimate for the work we wanted done in the summer. It was worth the wait. He was punctual and quickly got a clear and detailed estimate to us. Once it got closer to the summer, we asked him if it would be possible to complete the work while one of our neighbors was out of the country and he worked with us to make this happen. The crew showed up on the day and at the time that was arranged. All of the guys were extremely nice, responsive to our concerns and professional. They worked hard, showed up early every day, stayed late on multiple occasions, and even worked two Saturdays. They were conscientious and cleaned everything at the end of every day. Carl was in daily contact and gave us frequent updates which allowed us to anticipate and change routines for our four year-old twins so that they wouldn't be exposed to the dust. They did a fantastic job and their work quality is exceptional; well worth the price. We enjoyed seeing them every morning and will miss them as I don't think we will need to worry about repointing our house over the next couple of decades.

We actually like them a lot. Karl, the owner came out and he was very professional. He knows what he is doing. We have not yet gone with them because we have somethings being fixed and we want our neighbor to be involved in the work as well. We were impressed with them.

They were great. The guys are friendly and do a fantastic job. It took a little while to get them to come out because they are so busy but we were not in a hurry and I am sure they would have squeezed us in if we really needed the work done sooner. Once there, they were quick and the finished product looks fantastic.

Years ago, after tiring of bailing water every time it rained heavily, I hired a man (not from Angie?s List) to trench my basement. He said he could only do 2 ½ sides because of the location of my sewer water pipe and a toilet, but I figured that would be better than doing nothing. His work reduced the flooding I would experience, but it did not eliminate the problem entirely. At some point, I called Carl from Artistic Masonry to put a sump pump in, and when he did, he told me that he could complete the trenching in my basement if I ever wanted that done. He said it would be challenging but not impossible. He also said he could remedy the problem of water coming up through the floor. Eventually the mini floods from the untrenched side of my basement became more frequent, and the ?fountain in the floor? continued to be troublesome. After one of our heavy rains in the fall, I had had enough, so I called Carl and requested that he take on the job of solving my problem. Our conversations, as well as glowing reports on Angie?s List, had convinced me that this was who I wanted to do the work even if I had to wait. Carl said he?d ?put me on his list? and call me in a few months to let me know when he might be able to come. After four months, he was able to take on my job, which he and his assistants did with exceptional expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and high standards of workmanship. They encountered a few ?older home glitches? during the week they did the work, but with each one, Carl explained the problem to me clearly and showed how they would fix it. Respectful and professional, he was always up front about anything I should know, and he responded promptly to any e-mails I sent. I felt comfortable having him and his crew in my home and was extremely impressed with the end result. Soon after the first rain storm following their work, Carl even called to see how my basement had fared! I was happy to report that it was ?bone dry.? A more significant test came recently with the relentless rain we had that sent most people scrambling to deal with water in their basements. I was so grateful to see that, thanks to Carl and his helpers, I could sit and relax during the storm rather than bail my basement! If you need waterproofing done and you can be patient, Carl is worth the wait. Also, what he charges is reasonable and is worth every penny!

was really only looking for consulting on masonry work which is out of my field of expertise and when I saw the Angie's List Big Deal, I couldn't pass it up. First...though some glitch, my Big deal purchase was charged twice and I called Angie's list to have one of them refunded. The contractor told me over the phone that Angie's List had refunded both of the purchases but was going to show up anyway. That should tell you a great deal about the integrity of the contractor when he shows up without being paid. I called Angie's list to hopefully straighten the issue out and to insure the contractor got paid. I wanted consulting from the contractor for some basement waterproofing I plan on doing myself. He showed up right on time and we walked around my house discussing the problem areas. The contractor was very helpful telling me what products to use and how to perform the necessary excavations even though I probably would not be using them for the work. Hopefully I'm not over my head in performing the work myself but in the event that I can't perform the work, I would certainly call them

Carl Yockey was an absolute pleasure to work with. We first spoke with him last summer. His initial consultations were very educational and instructional in our choices for the project. We were placed on his schedule for late fall/early winter. We were kept appraised of his schedule by email and text message. When our time on the schedule arrived, my wife decided that it was too late in the season for us to do the work ( we had driveway repaving planned and the paving company was closing for the winter and we had a major renovation involving the back of our house). Carl had no problem agreeing to reschedule for this spring. When it was time to start, we had excellent communications and additional design advice. When the date was set, Carl agreed to delay the start for two days because we had a large party planned. Every day, we knew what time they were starting, how the work was progressing, and what time they were leaving. On the first day of the job, Carl discovered a 15" concrete base with steel wire rebar running through it. It took two additional days to remove the old base. Carl and his crew worked on Saturday and Sunday in order to finish the work on schedule. This was a professional project performed by a gentleman.

This is the second time I've used these services and Carl has always been very professional. I plan to use him again in the future when I need other masonry work completed.

I was very pleased with the quick response I got from Artistic Masonry. However, due to their being very busy and my needing work done as soon as possible, I was unable to use them. I will, however, contact them again, if needed.

It was very good. They did a really nice job. They were fairly expensive.

Everything went great. This is a really great company. The owner is very professional. He's done three different jobs for us, and each one has turned out better than we'd have hoped.

They did an excellent job. Masonry is expensive and I think their pricing was probably fair.

They arrive on time, review the work to be done, complete the job as described and in the timeframe promised. Carl follows up with us periodically during the job to ensure that we are happy with the work and have no questions or concerns. I wouldn't think of having anyone else do masonry work for us

Carl and his crew were a pleasure to work with from the initial estimate to the completion of the job and beyond. Carl always kept me informed on the progress of the job and was very helpful and patient with answering all of my questions. They did great work at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them.

It went great, even with uncooperative weather. I showed Carl my drawings and he made it happen. My criticism is usually harsh on contractors, but Carl left no room for that on this job. I have done masonry work my self when I was younger, and am qualified to give Carl and his crew the highest rating.

Carl and his team were great. Carl is very responsive and stayed in good communication with us throughout the project. His team was very polite and hard working. They did a great job in the basement and we are really happy with the results. We have renovated two homes - lots and lots of renovations and contractors. We have had many good contractors but in our experience there are strengths and weaknesses with any contractor - so we have had one's that did great work but were impossible to track down when not on-the-job or ones that did great work but left things a bit messy or they did great work but were overly expensive, etc. But there was really no downside with Carl and his team. They did great work and showed up when they said they would, kept us involved in the process, didn't overcharge us, etc.
