As always it went very well. Carl had installed our front steps several years ago and due to us using salt during the winters some of the joints had come lose. He took care of it and we cannot really tell which stones had been loose. He also did some pointing around our basement door, evened out some pavers on our sidewalk and other odds and ends. With Carl it doesn't matter whether it is a big job or a small job, they all get his full attention and care.

I was very impressed with Carl at our first meeting. He was very honest about his schedule and stated that due to the large number of pending jobs, it could be a long time before he could start any new projects. However, after considering the many outstanding reviews he received and that I knew I was dealing with a mason of superior quality and knowledge, I knew he would be well worth the wait. Work started late May. The brick wall and column at the front of our row house had to be removed and rebuilt, also the pointing mortar in (4) sections of stone wall at the rear of the property was removed and all joints were pointed with new mortar in a ribbon joint to match original pointing. Carl and his crew were punctual, friendly and super professional. He transformed a hideous mass of brick wall and column into a beautiful work of art! Carl skillfully separated our brick from the adjoining brick and stucco wall next door and meticulously applied a smooth finish to the uneven concrete overhang on the landing directly above our new brick wall as well as smoothed out all rough edges on the stucco wall on the adjoining row house. He created a high quality cohesive finish between the two row homes. The pointing of the stonework at the rear of the house is equally as beautiful. It is so neat and precise; took my breath away. He is a superior artisan! Amazing!! I highly recommend Artistic Masonry (aptly named) again. Looking forward to the next project. Do not hesitate to wait for these guys. (Photos will follow).

Carl is the best! Actually, I first called Carl as we were having a mold issue in our basement. I thought it would be a masonry type of job so that's why I called him for a consultation. He spent a lot of time with me trying to find the root of why this one area in the basement was moldy. Once he had a good guess on what the problem was, he was very honest and said this is beyond his scope of work and directed me on who I needed to call. I took his advice and called other mold experts and contractors to finish the job. However, I was always reminded how professional and thorough Carl was so when our walkway needed to be re-done, I thought of him immediately. True to form, Carl was prompt to return my call and the price he quoted was very reasonable. We did have to wait some time before he could start as he is so busy and in demand. But once he started, the crew started early in the morning and fully dedicated themselves to the project. Carl was on site each day working alongside his crew. His crew were very nice and professional. We love our walkway! I Highly recommend Carl!

Carl and his team did great work on my house. Carl has a lot of knowledge about brick houses and did an impressive job restoring the front of my rowhome. I've gotten many compliments from friends and neighbors on how great my house looks. Leading up to the work days, communication was good, and the pricing was very honest and fair. I live on a small street, and the team did a clean-up after every work day - it kept my neighbors very happy! I definitely recommend hiring Artistic Masonry, I know that I will be hiring for more projects in the future!

It went fine. They had to come back for a crack after the concrete dried, but they said it was normal and returned promptly to fix it. They made sure everything was good.

It went extremely well. Mr. Yockey and his co-workers care deeply about their work. Mr Yockey knows a lot about stone, and can analyze a situation and provide a good solution. Two examples. On the side patio where water had been collecting, he was able to re-set the flags and slate so that pitch and fall were perfect, despite several restrictive features linked to adjoining features of the house. This allows the entire patio to drain quickly and properly after heavy rain -- erified empircally the day after he finished -- a problem with the previous set up, while also maintaining the entire patio level from one side to the next. In addition, although it sounds like a small thing, re-setting the back bilco door to the basement on a brick base had several complications which he solved quite elegantly in part by using pieces of stone lintel. Mr. Yockey and his coworkers are quite respectful, and did a great job of showing up when expected and cleaning up at the end of the day before leaving. Because he is so knowledgeable, Mr. Yockey is in demand. Do not expect to call him this week and have your new patio built next week. But, trust me on this, it is worth waiting until he can do your job for you. He will do a far better job than anyone else. We had had another person, also highly recommended, do stone and cement work on our house several years ago, and there is no comparison. Mr. Yockey's work, is far superior. He presents a rare combination of caring about his work, looking carefully at the exact situation, thinking about it creatively, and paying close attention to the execution of the work. In my grandfather's time they would have called this skilled craftsmanship.

Owner called me up and said ad was a mistake because they don't do inside jobs in the summer. They refunded my money in total ...........no harm done.

Work was prompt, workers were courteous, they cleaned up when completed. They were flexible with me and worked to help me keep costs down. Anything that came up (something always comes up) was fully (and patiently) explained and usually multiple options were given. The was was done weeks ago and the basement has remained bone dry including through some sever storms where I know it would have flooded in the past.

We were impressed with Carl Yockey, who is the owner of Artistic Masonry from our initial meeting. When Carl arrived he was punctual and he was very honest about the condition of the walls and the scope of work that needed to be performed. He also presented us with several options. Carl is a great communicator. From the time we signed the contract, he kept us informed of where we fell on his work schedule via email or by telephone. Upon starting the job, Carl was readily available to answer any questions and he gave us daily statuses on the days progress and when he anticipated completing the work. Carl and his team were punctual each day. They were very professional and we are very pleased with their workmanship on both the stone pointing and the construction of the EP Henry wall. They definitely take pride in their work. They also did a good job in cleaning up the work site when the work was completed. We definitely recommend Artistic Masonry and we would also utilize their services in the future.

Walls look great. Our house is over 100 years old and the basement now looks new. They did a fabulous job. Would definitely recommend them. We will have them back to do more work.

We are extremely happy with how the new brick design matches the old, how finished our patio looks with the Belgium block edge, and that our main problem of drainage is occurring away from the house after a storm. We would definitely recommend Carl to others as well as contract him for any future work needed.

We were having problems with our brick patio with rainwater coming in our back door in the winter. Karl did some resloping of the brick area near the door. This work was done before the winter of 2016/2017 and as of today (5.15.18) we have not had a problem no matter how heavy the rain. This was the 2nd job Karl did for us & we have been very pleased both times. In the future if we need any brick work done, we would not hesitate to call him.

As on my prior facade restoration, Carl and his team were excellent in all ways. They communicated at all stages of the job, showed up when they say they would, and were always responsive to requests and phone calls. I wish I had more masonry work for them to do. They are that much of a pleasure to work with. The only downside is that you'll probably need to wait to work with them as they're in high demand. And I'd strongly suggest you wait if you can. I don't give high praise to many contractors. So when I find someone who is professional and reliable, they deserve my praise.

Extremely well. Carl and his crew kept me up to date prior to the job beginning and worked efficiently and professionally through the entire job. I had a lot of concern about damaging the softer historic bricks on my facade by grinding out the original lime mortar from the butter joints between the bricks. Carl patiently explained the various options and gave his recommendation for the way to do it in a cost-effective and durable way. The entire job went smoothly, largely due to Carl's responsiveness to questions, calls, and any issues that came up. And besides doing beautiful work, he and his crew were a pleasure to work with.

I first hired Carl and his crew in 2013 to repair a small spot of crumbling bricks on the side of my house. When that was completed with great speed, ease, and care, I reached out again when I needed to shore up the brick barrier wall in my backyard (which required some repointing throughout and some repair and replacement of bricks along the top rows). His crew worked tirelessly through a grueling hot summer day this July to turn a shaky-looking barrier (you could see straight through in places!) into a gloriously even and precise expanse of brickwork (effectively "dressing up" my whole backyard!). They worked overtime to turn around a job estimated at a day and a half into a long, but single day's work.

It was very good. Everything was fine. There was no worst. They did what they were supposed to do.

Carl and his crew were super to work with. They arrived on time and worked very hard through some very hot days this summer. Job site cleanup after each day was fantastic. They worked well with my neighbors to allow passage of vehicles as my street is very narrow. All of the workmanship was of the highest grade. Carl was on the job site daily and spent time with me each day to go over the work planned and any possible cost overruns due to unexpected issues. I bid this to 2 other contractors and his price was very reasonable. At the completion of the job, he let me know what I needed to do down the road to keep the back yard looking good and left some sand and clay brick pavers just in case. He helped me make good decisions as to materials and methods. I don't think you could find anybody better to do this type of work.
