+ 0 moreThe hot water valve broke suddenly while we were attempting to replace the faucet on Monday afternoon. We had to turn off the main water valve and also the hot water heater. We looked for a provider located close to our home, hoping to get service on Monday afternoon or Tuesday. The appointment setter was thorough and professional and she called back with an appointment in a reasonable length of time. We had the first appointment Tuesday morning. The provider arrived on time and worked quickly, neatly and skillfully. His pricing was fair. We were completely satisfied.
Description of Work: Removed the kitchen sink faucet, repaired broken hot water valve with parts stored in his truck, cleaned the faucet area and installed the new faucet that we provided.

+ 0 moreAfter they left a leak sprouted out so they fixed the problem and somehow caused another problem. He also did something with my oil tank that I did not ask him to do. I was in the middle of getting out of my house because I was selling it and trying to get stuff done. He just left and I did not realize he did that stuff, when I went down and looked at my tank, he wrote something on the tank and he changed the pressures in it.
Description of Work: Construxx Incorporated replaced the shut off valve from my oil tank for the big deal service.

+ -1 moreWe were always satisfied. The fixed the problem anyway and hadn't been back. That's always a good sign. I wasn't there. My 20-year-old daughter was there. She said that they did a fine job and they were in and out. He checked something else for me and just gave me a call back and let me know what his opinion was of the problem I was having, and that was very helpful. He showed up when he said. He called me right away. He fixed what he said he was going to fix. He charged me what he was going to charge me. He said he's going to charge me. He looked at something else at no charge, so I was very happy.

+ -1 moreI called Construxx because I had some water backing up into my sink. I bought the $100 credit for $80 from Angie's List. After speaking with Joann, she told me that it was probably sewer related. I had coverage for my sewer through my water company, so Joann advised me to talk to them. She said that I could "return" the Angie's deal if I didn't need it. I appreciated her honesty and commitment to customer service, however, being in an older home, I knew I had some leaky water valves that needed repair. After I got my sewer stuff straightened out, I spoke with Joann several times to work out the perfect time for the plumber to come to my house. When he arrived, we showed him the leaky valve. He showed us how we could correct this ourselves so we wouldn't always have to pay a plumber to do it. Then, since we had already paid for 1 hour of his time, he asked us what else he could look at. I had questions about our dishwasher lines, so I showed it to him. Thank goodness I did because we uncovered a leak! This leak required the same fix he had just showed us. The two leaks only required about 15 minutes of Jeremy's time. So we showed him a toilet that still occasionally runs despite us changing out the inner workings. He showed us how the chlorine in our water affects the flapper and how we can fix that. Jeremy checked his work several times. All in all, he was at our house about a half an hour and provided excellent customer service the entire time. Something I didn't know was that there is a $35.00 dispatch charge added onto your bill. I would definitely do business with Contruxx again!

+ -1 moreFor several years we had blockage and cosequently back up in our basement- yuck! Our plumber had been warning us that we needed to get the line repaired eventually. So I read reviews of Construxx here and called for an estimate. After examinig our pipes with a special camera and locating the breaks in our line Harold told us what we needed to have done. They began the next day and replaced some old pipes in the basement with new and then began work on the outside. Harold's crew work constantly and obviously know what they're doing. They clean up after themselves and are friendly. It was not cheap but we expected to shell out some serious bucks heading into the project. So now the front yard is back to normal and the project is over. I definitly recommend this company!

I would tell a friend that they were very easy to work with, did a very good job, and did a good job cleaning up after themselves.

+ -1 moreTwo individuals showed up to do the work. They were punctual and courteous. They were here for approximately one hour. The Company owner stopped by to see how they were doing. He was very friendly. When they finished I inspected their work and everything seemed in order. Then I was handed the bill for services for $409.81, and I couldn't believe my eyes. We didn't pay this much to have these two toilets installed by a bathroom remodeler plumber three or four years ago.
Description of Work: Replaced two toilet tank mechanisms and unblocked bathroom drain.

+ -1 moreTWO thorough investigations were done separately by my home warranty company and the commercial insurance company used by Construxx. It has been concluded without a doubt that Construxx was liable for the damage to my home. Jeremy never said one word to me about what he was doing or what the danger would be to my pipe. The damage occurred the next day-the first time the tub was used since Jeremy "fixed" it. Both the home warranty and Erie Insurance Company used by Construxx have found this to due to faulty workmanship and are very disheartened to hear that Construxx flat out lied that I had white and black mold. Do not trust this company. At least I am receiving full compensation from my home warranty and Construxx commercial insurer, Erie. It is a shame that they can not stand by their work and have to resort to lying and bullying. Beware!! They are much better plumbers -check your references for those with integrity. It has been nothing but a nightmare to work with these people.
Description of Work: On September19th, 2014, a plumber from Construxx plumbing was sent to my home by my home warranty company for plumbing repair for running commode in the first floor bathroom and slow drain in the bathtub upstairs. The plumber arrived and did not perform ANY preliminary inspection of the pipes of the home. He fixed the commode and went upstairs to work on the tub drain. He called me upstairs when he completed the drain work. He ran some water but did not fill the tub. He told me it should drain better though it was still slow draining. I asked how he cleared the drain and he told me he uses a commercial drain cleaner. I inquired if that would harm my lead pipes and he assured me it would not. He then advisedme to put vinegar in the drain once a month to prevent clogs. He had me sign that the work was completed, did not give me a copy of any paperwork and then left. I live alone and did not use the tub until the following day. After showering, I noted water on the hardwood floor in the first floor of the home directly below the tub. Water had leaked through the ceiling onto my newly redone hard wood floor. I called Construxx to inform them and was treated very rudely by the owner, Harold. To me,he sounded inebriated and repeatedly called me HON, which I asked that he refrain from doing. He told me he just got in and no one was available to fix the leak. He said no one was available the next day either. I asked him what I was to do and he said he did not know what to tell me. I called the next day and got the same treatment and no help. I called First American several times that day and another plumberfrom another company finally came out Sunday eve to inspect the pipe. The leaking was still occurring though the ceiling into a bucket below. The plumber came out on Monday and opened approximately a 4 x 3 section of the plaster ceiling to place acoupling around a leaking pipe area. The pipe continued to leak and he came out the next day to put a plug in the pipe where the hole from the acid was made. Thepipe still continues to leak through the ceiling into a bucket below each time the shower is used. This plumber has submitted a report and multiple photos showing a bullet sized hole directly below the tub drain. He has, in no uncertain terms, asserted that this was a direct result of the commercial acid placed into the lead pipe from the Construxx plumber. Acid should never be placed into lead pipe. Construxx was then contacted by First American to come out and fix the issue on Thursday, Sept 25. They were to arrive in the am but did not show up until after 2 p. Harold, the owner, and the plumber who provided the service arrived at my home and immediately started taking pictures of the hole in my ceiling. Harold immediately barked at me I had black and white mold and that the pipe was already bad, He demanded I get out my lap top and look up information on white mold and how long it takes to grow. He requested that I spray clorox on the area. I asked why he put acid in my lead pipe and the owner and plumber left my house without fixing the leak. I immediately called plumber assigned to come out from another companyto inform him of the visit by Construxx. The plumber informed methat I did not have any mold. The white was from plumbers putty used to apply the coupling and concrete dust and discoloration is normal when concrete is poured below the floor tile. Since then, I have had 2 other plumbers from Roto Rooter and Gohn and Stambaugh in York confirm that I DO NOT have mold and that the acid caused this leak. I then called Construxx to inform them of the reports that I have no mold and that the cause of the leak was, indeed, due to the plumbers error and was threatened by the plumber who performed the service. DO NOT use this company. They do not stand behind their work. I am now faced with having to have a beautiful retro tile bathroom ripped out in order to repair the damaged pipe and they are refusing to correct their error. Beware!

The plumbers called before arriving to make sure we were home since they were a bit early. The job was completed quickly and carefully. The team, Harold and Jeremy, was courteous and worked efficiently. They were neat and cleaned up before they left and disposed of the old faucet. Straight A's for this service.

+ -1 moreThe job went great. Above all, quality work by true professionals. This job was not easy, the concrete floor that needed busted out went through one room of the basement, under stairs, and into another room of the basement. The work was tough, but the workers were personable, professional and dedicated to getting it done quickly (so I could run my dishwasher and kitchen sink again) and done right. They were at my house a total of 4 times (estimate, pipe work, laying concrete and reattaching water connections) and were on-time each time. The original estimate that I was getting from contractors was to expose/replace 3 feet of the pipe (it was unknown how far back the pipe was corroded, so just got apples to apples estimates from each contractor). Construxx estimate was almost 30% less than the next cheapest and there's no way the job could have been done any better. The whole group of people were great and made the most stressful experience I've had as a homeowner much easier. Thanks Construxx!!

+ 0 moreI was happy with the first time they serviced our house of which they cleaned up our floor drain and ran a snake from clean out toward street. They recommended that if the back up occurs again that an additional clean out should be installed and a camera should be run. They informed me at that time I could get a copy of the video for my records. About two to three months later our floor drain backed up again so I called Construxx back. This was the second time this company performed service at our home. I had them as they recommended prior, to install a clean out and run the camera from that new clean out to the existing clean out and then from the existing clean out to the street sewer drop. The gentlemen first installed the clean out of which the first tool he used which was meant to break the pipe cleanly of which it made the pipe break in little pieces and cave in. So the pipe had to be cut using a tool with a circular blade. After the clean out was installed the camera was run to the other clean out. I watch as he explained that there was turtling (as explained b/c of the pipe rusting from within and possibly from previous owners using drano causes buildup on the inside of the pipe resembling turtle shell looking objects) within the pipe and there were signs of sewer flies. I was informed that the pipe was compromised and recommended it be replaced. I asked how much it would be and I was told instantly $6,000 or they could run a pipe along the wall and reconnect it outside and that would be more b/c of having to use machinery to dig a hole outside my house. Next the camera was run from original clean out to the street. About three quarters of the way out I inquired about providing me a copy of the video and it was then that i was informed that it was not being recorded and that he could see if he had a blank tape and could record the rest of it from there out. I didn't realize that their machine only recorded on VHS tapes. Who owns a VCR any more. I was irritated but let it go but should have made them rerun the pipe again. After that was done I went to pay the bill to find out that he added $25 to what was quoted to me b/c the pipe he cut gave him a hard time so he felt the additional charge was warranted?? Again im pretty easy going and let it go. I reminded him that I did want an official estimate for both options discussed to fix the pipe. I started to call other plumbers the following week and informed them what I needed done and asked if they would come out and give me an estimate. All of the companies I spoke with asked to see the video of which I proceeded to inform them I didn't have one and why. I asked all of the companies I spoke with what they charge for their camera service and how they provide back up and they all were priced the same as Constuxx and they all stated that they would either provide me with Jump drive copy or email me the video for my records. I called contruxx back later the following week. I voiced my concerns and asked them to rerun the camera and record it this time thinking I could have the video converted to a DVD or jump drive. I also informed them I still didn't receive an official estimate and was informed they would get with the office to have that out to me. With some push back and hesitation the tech did agree to come back out to rerun the pipe however when they called about stopping by they left a message and I called back left another message and since have not heard from them and I still never received an estimate.
Description of Work: Installed a clean out on an exposed Sewer pipe in basement and ran snake with camera from new clean out to existing other clean out and as well as out to the street.

+ -1 moreI called this company solely off of other reviews on Angie's list, and expected similar service quality to others that I had read about. I needed a plumber for a small job at one of my restaurants. What should have been several hundred dollars turned into several thousand. They were extremely slow, taking long breaks and disappearing for hours, all of which was not reflected on the bill. I had a quote from another contractor to do the work, and it would have been $450, but he couldn't get to it for three weeks. Construxx's bill, all said and done, came in at $2,300. I bought and provided all the material, and they were there for 9 hours (should have been a 3 hour job, max). They also play this game where they say they'll only charge you for one of the guys, to make it seem like they're giving you a deal, but in fact, both guys aren't worth half of one. I'm a small business owner and have almost twenty years of experience with contractors. This is my first review. Be warned, these guys are terrible.

+ -1 moreCalled in the morning and they were at the house the same day by noon. They sent 2 plumbers but only charged me for 1. I wanted the problem fixed as I was tired of finding water under the sink and it was starting to cause wood damage. I was willing to completely replace all the pipes but they said all I needed was gasket replacement. They also fixed a slow drip on a shut off valve that I had missed which was the one causing the wood damage. They were in and out in 30 minutes. I will definately call Construxx in the future for any plumbing issues.
Description of Work: Had a pesky leak under sink that I tried to fix over and over to no avail. Contruxx replaced the gaskets on pipes and found the source of the leak in the backend connector as well as a slow leak on a shutoff valve.
